Services will be today (Tuesday) at 2:30 at Custer Funeral Home, Wooster, with Pastor James W. Christensen officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Canton Metro Office, 4916 Hills & Dales Road, NW, Canton 44708. She was born Aug. 28, 1915 in Pike, W.Va., to John and Vina (Morris) Martin and married Harold W. Mowrer on Dec. 27, 1950 in Fort Wayne, Ind. He survives. Surviving in addition to her husband, are a son and daughter-in-law, Sonny and Jill Carmichael of Wooster; grandchildren and their spouses, Rick and Barb Carmichael and Renee and Gary Gwinn; great-grandchildren, Cory, Jessi and Shelby Carmichael; a brother, Pete Martin of Vienna, W.Va.; and a sister, Mrs. Ron (Cora) Matheny of New Metamoras.

WOOSTER -- Irving A. Kundtz, 87, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Horn Nursing Home. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Busch Family Chapel, 4334 Pearl Road, Cleveland. Entombment will be at Brooklyn Heights Mausoleum. Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 7-9 at the funeral home, or one hour prior to the services. He was the loving father of Irving J. and wife, Linda Kundtz of Wooster; grandfather of Susan Kutz and Brian Kundtz; and great-grandfather of Taelor and Tara Kutz. His beloved wife Ruth M. Kundtz, died previously.

TAMPA, Fla. -- Harriette E. (Krause) Miller, 89, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Orrville, died Sunday, Jan. 3, at Bayfront Medical Center. Memorial services were held Thursday, Jan. 7. National Cremation Society in St. Petersburg, Fla., handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 12502 N. Pine Drive, Tampa, Fla. 33612-9499. ERHART -- Phillip W. Ross, 61, of Erhart, died Saturday, Jan. 9, at Southwest General Health Center, Middleburg Heights. Services were held today (Tuesday), at Bauer Funeral Home in Valley City. ORANGE CITY, Fla. -- Robert J. Gobin, 71, Candle Light Mobile Park, 2000 N. Volusia, Lot C13, Orange City, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 5, in West Palm Beach, Fla. Memorial services will be held in June at North Alliance Church in Burlington, Vt. Surviving are his wife, Alice Gobin of 51 years of Orange City, Fla.; and four children.

POLK -- E. Lucille Schar, 96, of Polk, died Monday, Jan. 11, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Ashland. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, with the Rev. LOUDONVILLE -- E. Blanche Brecheisen, 73, formerly of East Burwell Avenue, died Monday morning, Jan. 11, at Colonial Manor Health Care Center in Loudonville, after a long illness. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Rev. Gary L. Pollock officiating. Burial will be at Loudonville Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. She was born June 4, 1925 in Red Ash, Va., to Roy C. and Grace (White) Wilson and married Howard G. Brecheisen in 1968. He survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Sandra Rader of Mansfield, a son, Lewis and wife, Cathy Frazee and a son, Jerry Frazee, all of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren; a sister, Helen Strouse of Danville; brothers, Troy Wilson of Loudonville, Kenneth and wife, Rose Wilson of Bladensburg and Zane and wife, Shirley Wilson of Danville.

CANEYVILLE, Ky. -- Violet Daisy Mong, 76, of Caneyville, Ky., formerly of Wooster, died Sunday, Jan. 10, at Leitchfield Healthcare Manor. Services were held this morning (Tuesday), at Watson & Hunt Funeral Directors in Leitchfield, Ky. The Rev. George Smith officiated. Burial was at Beech Grove Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, John Mong; children, Rebecca Newson of Morgantown, Ky., Deborah Douglass of Pennsylvania, John Douglass of Washington and Walter Douglass of Bowling Green, Ky.; four step-children; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

HARTVILLE -- Clyde A. McKinstry, 78, of Hartville, died Monday morning, Jan. 11, 1999, in the emergency room at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. MILLERSBURG -- Saloma Miller, 91, 7378 Township Road 601, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Altercare of Millersburg, after an extended illness. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Fryburg Beachy Fellowship Church, with Bishop Paul Chupp officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. She was born Oct. 3, 1907, in Wayne County to Jacob and Mary (Miller) Coblentz and married Noah D.M. Miller on Sept. 25, 1934. He died Jan. 23, 1987. Surviving are daughters, Betty Wagler of Hartville and Mrs. Adam S. (Anna) Miller and a son, Wayne and wife, Lydia Ann Miller, all of Millersburg; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

RITTMAN -- Fred J. Rice Jr., 62, 346 Diane St., died Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Wade Park Veterans Hospital in Cleveland. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, with James A. Foster officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. He was born Dec. 12, 1936 in Radnor, W.Va., to Fred J. and Dorothy (Fortner) Rice Sr. and married Helen Lemon. She survives. He was born Nov. 28, 1958 in Rockingham County, Va., to James Samuel and Thelma Maxine (Hensley) Kisling and married Linda Catherine Witmer on May 28, 1988. She survives. SHILOH -- Judy Leid, 51, of Shiloh, died Thursday morning, Jan. 14, at her home after a short illness. She was the mother of Marlene Glick of Dalton and Christine Amstutz of Wooster. Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Chester Mennonite Church in Wooster. Burial will be at Chester Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 6-8:30 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich. Surviving in addition to her daughters are her husband of 28 years, Irvin Leid; four other children, Becky, Lisa, Denise and David Leid, all of the home; five grandchildren; her parents of Pennsylvania; and sisters, Doris Detweiler, Lila Hackman and Elaine Burgey, all of Pennsylvania.

Russell Shakley
SPRING, Texas -- Russell "Rocky" Shakley, 86, of Spring, Texas, formerly of West Salem, died Saturday, Jan. 9, at Woodland Health Care Center in Spring, Texas. Graveside services will be Saturday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. at West Salem Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by James Stevenson American Legion Post 499 of West Salem. The Rev. Michael Hastings will officiate. There will be no calling hours. Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem is handling arrangements. Surviving are his second wife, Doris Shakley of Texas; a daughter, Bonnie Wasson of West Salem; stepdaughters, Sandi Polm and Linda Williamson, both of Spring, Texas; four grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. His first wife, Dora Markley, died Jan. 4, 1966.

WALNUT CREEK -- Helen Robina Huber, 89, of Walnut Creek, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 13, 1999, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek. Graveside services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, with the Rev. Karl Stonebraker officiating. There will be no calling hours. She was born Aug. 11, 1909 in Sharon, Pa., to John and Robina (Thornberry) Morgan and married W. Brooks Huber. He died in 1986. Surviving are nieces, Judith S. Mast of Johnson City, Tenn., Elizabeth M. Plikerd of Newark and Jennifer M. Fair of Millersburg; and great-nieces and nephews.

He was born Sept. 4, 1950 in Holmes County to Dan J.D. and Mary (Yoder) Miller and married Katie Yoder on Dec. 7, 1978. She survives. Ina Davis
MAGNOLIA -- Ina M. Davis, 80, of Magnolia, formerly of Wooster, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Union Hospital in Dover. Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Koch Funeral Home, 101 W. Main St., Scio, with the Rev. Bruce Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery, Scio. Friends may call Saturday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born Sept. 26, 1918 near Scio to George C. and Martha L. (McFadden) McCombs and was married to Carl B. Davis for 37 years. He died in 1974. Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Noah of Wooster and a son, Richard and wife, Donna Davis of Magnolia; grandchildren, Donald Lee Noah of Frederick, Md., J. David Noah of Kettering, Douglas E. Noah of Cincinnati, Michele R. Davis of Bolivar, Julie A. Davis of Milford and Lisa M. Womack of North Canton; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Eugene and wife, Norma McCombs of Cadiz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

WOOSTER -- Arthur R. Miller, 90, formerly of Weaver Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 14, at Karrington of Wooster. Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Moreland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Stull officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Saturday from 6-9 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Green Funeral Home in Wooster, where Masonic services will be at 5:45 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions to Moreland United Methodist Church, 138 E. Moreland Road, Wooster 44691. He was born Feb. 15, 1908 in Wayne County to Franklin and Cora (Foust) Miller and married Esther Knisely. She died previously. On Sept. 19, 1981, he married Edna (Snyder) Smith. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are children and their spouses, Wilson and Wanda Miller of Wooster, Kenneth and Eddie Miller of Lexington, Ky., Lorita and David Post of Shreve and Dennis and Carol Miller of Holmesville; stepsons, Fred Smith of Westerville and David Smith of Hawaii; 10 grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
