ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- Peggy Lee Cochran, 68, of Pine Lane Street, died Thursday, Jan. 21, at her home. She was the mother of Barry and wife, Janice Cochran of Wooster. Memorial services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at East Richland Evangelical Friends Church in St. Clairsville, with the Rev. Wayne Ickes and Lou Williams officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Beck Funeral Home, 204 W. Main St., St. Clairsville. Memorial contributions may be made to Arthur James Cancer Research Center of Ohio State University; or East Richland Evangelical Friends Church in St. Clairsville. She was born Nov. 25, 1930 in St. Clairsville to Martin E. and Stella (Trigg) Craig and married William E. Cochran. He survives. Surviving in addition to her son and husband, are three other children, Bryan and wife, Diane Cochran, Brent and wife, Marsha Cochran and Belinda Shaw, all of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and sisters, Marceline Swartz, Betty Linn Hanlon and Gerry Beck, all of St. Clairsville.

WEST SALEM -- Paul W. Klann, 36, of West Salem, died Thursday, Jan. 21, at his home. Memorial services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, with the Rev. Carl Uhler officiating. Burial will be at West Salem Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. He was born Feb. 24, 1962 in Beaver Falls, Pa., to Jack and Shirley (Withers) Klann and married Linda Sklenka on July 12, 1986. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Kolleen Klann and stepdaughters, Jenny and Libby Duncan, all of the home; brothers, Jack Klann of Lodi and Neal Klann of West Salem; and sisters, Deborah Garnes of Wooster and Donna Klann of Massillon.

Marie Klawer
DOYLESTOWN -- Marie Klawer, age 81, entered eternal rest on Jan. 21, 1999, at Barberton Citizens Hospital, after a courageous battle with the effects of cancer and stroke. Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and her Catholic faith. She was born on Sept. 14, 1917 to William and Otilia (Teufel) Pogel and married Elmer Klawer on Sept. 28, 1935 He survives. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Elmer Klawer; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Worth "Bud" Graham Jr. of Doylestown ; grandsons, Ben (Dawn) Graham, III of Wooster; Brian (Emily) Graham of Akron; great-grandson, Worth "B.J." Graham, IV; sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Doylestown with the Father David McCarthy, celebrant. Burial will be at Evergreen Lawn in Akron, New York. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown. Rosary will be Sunday at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

Herbert Ramsier
WOOSTER -- Herbert W. Ramsier, 84, 6532 Canaan Center Road, died Friday, Jan. 22, at Smithville Western Care Center. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home. Burial will be at Canaan Township Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. He was born Sept. 21, 1914 in New Martinsville, W.Va. to Samuel and Ida (Nolan) Ramsier and married Marie Ganyard in 1936. She died on Nov. 19, 1974. He then married Leona M. White on Nov. 2, 1976. She survives. Surviving in addition to his second wife, are children Mike and Stanley, both of West Salem, Douglas of Louisiana, and Elizabeth Hanes of Lodi; stepchildren, Lillian Lambert of Massillon, Helen Lambert of Canton, Lois Weaver of Wooster, Ralph White of Maryland, Bonnie Hedrick of West Virginia, and Carl White of Medina; 12 grandchildren; 18 stepgrandchildren; and half-sisters, Alberta Johnson of Wadsworth and Charlotte Bowman of Wooster.

DOYLESTOWN -- Albina F. Meyers, 80, of Doylestown, died Saturday, Jan. 23. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Doylestown with the Rev. David McCarthy officiating. Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown. Arlie Rollins
ORRVILLE -- Arlie H. Rollins, 84, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville. She was formerly of Knoxville, Tenn. Memorial services will be Sunday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Orrville, during the worship service. The Rev. Barbara Morrison will officiate. Graveside services were held Thursday, Jan. 14, at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville, Tenn. Arrangements are being handled by Auble Funeral Home in Orrville. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1830 W. Market St., Orrville 44667. She married James D. Rollins on Oct. 15, 1942 in Greenville, S.C. He died Aug. 25, 1966. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Clarendia and Stephen Brown of Orrville, and Sandra and Donald Asbury of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Sarah Asbury of Cookeville, Tenn., and David L. Asbury, serving in the U.S. Army; and sisters, Cora and Nola Henderson and Ruby Rumfelt, all of Belmont, N.C.

WOOSTER -- Vince F. W. Beck, 62, of Wooster, died Friday, Jan. 22, at his residence. Service of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home. WOOSTER -- Lawrence Bolte, 83, 5100 Ely Road, died Thursday morning, Jan. 21, at Valley View Rehabilitation Center in Akron, following a long illness. Graveside services will be Monday at 2:45 p.m. at St. Mary Cemetery in Wooster. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Custer Funeral Home. Surviving is a sister, Lucile McBride of Cuyahoga Falls.

Evelyn Malcuit
ORRVILLE -- Evelyn I. Malcuit, 74, 5728 N. Crownhill Road, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for four months. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville with the Rev. Gary Pettyjohn officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville. There will be no calling hours. She married Frank T. Malcuit in 1946. He died May 30, 1980. Surviving are a son, Terry F. Malcuit of Orrville; grandchildren, Christopher F. Malcuit and Holly Malcuit; great-grandson, Franklin Paul Malcuit and five brothers, Clarence Howell of Jerusalem, John and George Howell, both of Orrville, Jack Howell of Wooster and Vernon Howell of Apple Creek.

WADSWORTH -- Gale W. Farner, 79, of Wadsworth, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Akron General Medical Center. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Hilliard Cox Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth with the Rev. James L. Singleton officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Goodman of Addison, Ala., and Nancy G. and husband, Corey Moragas of Slidell, La.; grandchildren, Katrina, Monique, Kyle, Taylor and Bailey; a brother, John W. BRADENTON, Fla. -- Charles Frank Varns, 53, of Bradenton, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 23. He was the cousin of Donald Varns of Wooster. BELLEFONTAINE -- Vesta Martha (Kelley) Buxton, 90, a resident of Heartland of Bellefontaine, formerly of Wooster, died Sunday, Jan. 24. Graveside services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Huntsville Cemetery, with the Rev. David Brower officiating. A Requiem Eucharist will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Sidney. A vigil service will be Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund. She was born Feb. 14, 1908 in East Palestine to Ulysses S. Grant and Mary (Moore) Kelley and married the Rev. Eugene H. Buxton on June 29, 1927 in Cumberland, W.Va. He died Sept. 3, 1990. Surviving is a son, the Rev. E. Harvey Buxton of Huntsville.

CRESTON -- Alvin E. Best Sr., 81, of Cherokee Lane, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Glendora Health Care Center, after a period of declining health. Private family services will be held. Burial of the cremains will be in Dravosburg, Pa. Arrangements were handled by Murray Funeral Home in Creston. He was born Aug. 21, 1917 in Duquesne, Pa., to James and Hettie (Letson) Best and married Gladys M. Andrews on June 23, 1956. She died June 30, 1994. Surviving are children, Deana L. Wuenschel and Daniel W. Best, both of Pittsburgh, Alvin E. Best Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joseph R. Best of Dravosburg, Pa.; stepchildren, Dorothy Scott of Farmington Hills, Mich., Donald Andrews of Livonia, Mich., and Dennis Andrews of Monrovia, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; a brother, John and sisters, Ethel and Bertha, all of Florida.

DANVILLE -- Ida Ellen (Winger) Stout, 90, 28530 Jelloway Road 42, Danville, formerly of Wayne County, died Monday, Jan. 11, at Mount Vernon Hospital, after a long illness. Cremation was been handled by Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. She was born Nov. 18, 1908 in Trumbull County to Frederick and Jennie Mae (Abbott) Winger and married John S. Stout on March 9, 1939. He died Sept. 5, 1976. Surviving are sisters, Dorothy Hiller and Mrs. Lawrence (Florence) Pinski, both of Ashland; many nieces and nephews; and several relatives in the Wooster area.

MOUNT EATON -- Alma Kauffman, 88, of Mount Eaton, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Doctors Hospital in Massillon, after a period of declining health. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Mennonite Church near Mount Eaton, with the Revs. Wayne Yutzy and Abe Schlabach officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton, or one hour prior to services at the church. Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Loudonville Cemetery, with the Rev. Lloyd Miller officiating. There will be no calling hours. SUGARCREEK -- Mark A. Yoder, 21, of Sugarcreek, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Akron City Hospital, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Maranatha Fellowship Church in Sugarcreek, with Wayne Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Crossroads Mission Church Cemetery. He was born Oct. 20, 1977 in Holmes County to Abe M. and Susan (Miller) Yoder and married Rhonda M. Troyer on Aug. 8, 1998. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife, are his parents of Sugarcreek; brothers, Andy A., Robert A., Mose A., Ray A. and Noah A. Yoder, all of Sugarcreek; and grandparents, Clara Miller of Sugarcreek and Mose and Lizzie Yoder of Baltic.

CANTON -- Victoria (Dima) Guzzo, 83, who had made her home with her son and daughter-in-law in Canton, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 26, 1999, at Hanover House, after an extended illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Canton, with the Rev. Father Thomas Dyer as celebrant and her son, Father M. Raphael Joseph Guzzo, FBA, assisting with the Mass. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Rossi Funeral Home, 730 30th St., NW, Canton, with the Holy Rosary Service being led by Father M. Raphael Joseph Guzzo, with the Miraculous Medal Sodality at 7 p.m. A Traditional Roman Catholic Latin Requiem Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Queen of Angels Monastery, 245 N. Buckeye St., Wooster. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Father M. Raphael Joseph Guzzo, stationed at the Queen of Angels Monastery in Wooster, Frank and Beverly Guzzo of North Canton and Charles and Evelyn Guzzo of Canton, with whom she had made her home; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Donald Kennedy of Canton and Mary and Richard Lockard of North Canton; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Antoinette Chirillo, and a brother, Joseph Dima, both of Canton. Her husband, Frank Guzzo, died Nov. 13, 1986.

Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Gary Jensen of Holmesville and Michael and wife, Barb Jensen of West Lafayette; grandchildren, Matt Jensen of Holmesville and Chad Jensen of Crestline; and a brother, Richard and wife, Betty Jean Becker of Wooster.

She was born April 9, 1920 in Holmes County to Joe C.D. and Emma Miller, and married Dan E. Stutzman on Dec. 31, 1959. He survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are stepchildren, Mrs. Roy H. (Sarah) Miller of Big Prairie, Eli D. and Alfred D. Stutzman, both of Apple Creek and Melvin D. Stutzman of the home; 33 step-grandchildren; 44 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Andy J.C., Neal J., Abe J.C., John J., Amman J. and Joe J. Edward Hixon Sr.
LAKELAND, Fla. -- Edward L. Hixon Sr., 74, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Orrville, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, after a short illness. Memorial services and burial will be held Monday in Florida. WOOSTER -- Reva Mae Dye, 75, formerly of Crestview Drive, died Friday, Jan. 29, at Wayne County Care Center. Friends may call Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born Feb. 19, 1923 in Wooster to Russell and Mabel (Walter) Badger and married Robert L. Dye on July 19, 1948. He died in April 1996. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Sharon and Gary Oberly, Deena and Don Butcher, and Darnel and Don Hooley, all of Wooster, and Dennis and Sally Dye of Loudonville; grandchildren, Chad, Amber, and Angie Oberly, Jim and Stef Stake, Bobby, Lindsey and Sara Beth Dye, Scott, Deb and Tim Butcher, and Stacey, Tiffany and Courtney Hooley; great-grandchildren, Miranda and Rileigh Stake, and Courtney Butcher; a sister, Dorothy L. He was born Aug. 22, 1951 in Akron to Orphy B. and Marjorie (Knox) Evans and married Debra Siebert on Nov. 27, 1998. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, David Matthew and Bethany Evans, both of Wooster; stepchildren, Scott and Ashley Siebert, both of Carmel, Ind.; his mother, Marjorie Evans of Wooster; brothers, John and William Evans, both of Wooster, and David Evans of Cincinnati, and a sister, Joan Stanford of Wooster.

GLENMONT -- Ethel M. Speck, 90, of Glenmont, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 29, at the Holmes County Home, after an extended illness. Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Wolf Creek Cemetery, Killbuck, with the Rev. Jacob "Jake" Rupple officiating. There will be no calling hours. She was born Aug. 9, 1908 in Richland Township, Holmes County, to Linas and Abby (Roby) Mellor and married Ralph M. Speck. He died previously.
