John R. Dorwart Sr.
John R. Dorwart Sr., 77, died Friday, April 20, 2001 at the Lock Haven Extended Care Unit.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home Ltd., 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. Mark Woodring officiating. Interment will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and from noon until service time on Monday.

Cora E. Gordon
Cora E. Gordon, 92, of McVeytown died Thursday, April 19, 2001 in the Malta Home for the Aging in Granville.
Born Oct. 18, 1908 in Brush Creek Township, Fulton County, she was the son of the late Daniel Miller and Frances Rice Miller.
She and George E., Gordon were united in marriage March 17, 1929 in Bellefonte.
Mr. Gordon preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1982.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in the Wetzler Funeral Home, 206 North Spring St., Bellefonte. The Rev. William Danis will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Bellefonte. Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

Dorothy L. King
Dorothy L. King, 64, of 348 Linden Circle, Lock Haven, died April 19, 2001 at the Lock Haven Hospital E.R., after being stricken at home.
She was born Oct. 1, 1936 in Lock Haven, and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Sarah Coble Irvin.
Mrs. King was married to Irvin Elwood King, who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1992.
Funeral services will be Sunday, April 22, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Capt. Daniel Hilty of the Lock Haven Salvation Army. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received in the funeral home Sunday afternoon, one hour prior to the services.
Memorials will be accepted to the American Lung Association or the American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.

Floyd E. Snook
Floyd E. Snook, 84, formerly of Jersey Shore, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001 in the Good Samaritan Health Care in Kissimmee, Fla.
Born Oct. 20, 1916 in Loganton, he was the son of Lee Snook and the former Stella Stamm.
He was united in marriage on Feb. 11, 1938 in Mill Hall to the former Dorothy M. Brungard. She preceded him in death on Oct. 18, 1987.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday evening in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Rosecrans.

Edith K. Bennett
Edith K. Bennett, 82, of 155 S. Jones St., Lock Haven, died April 12, 2001 in Susque-View Home.
Born Oct. 1, 1918 in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Rose Miller Klein.
She was married to Henry C. Bennett in 1945.
Graveside services will be 4:30 p.m. Friday in the Beth Yehuda Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Rabbi Helen Bar-Yacov will officiate.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Marie I. Raymond
Marie I. Raymond, 82, of 567 S. Fairview St., Lock Haven, died Thursday, April 12, 2001 in Lock Haven Hospital.
She was born April 17, 1918 in Gallipolis, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and
In 1940, in Lock Haven, she married William V. Raymond, who was killed in action on Luzzon Island in the Philippines in 1943, during World War II.
Funeral services will be at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Tuesday, April 17, at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Capt. Leslie M. Hilty of Lock Haven Salvation Army. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Muriel K. Riggle
Muriel Riggle, 44, of R.R. 2 Box 168, Mill Hall, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Friday, April 6, 2001, after an extended illness. She resided with her mother, Barbara Nancy (Eck) Farwell and step-father, Robert E. Farwell of Mill Hall, since February 2000. She died at her home.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2001 in the Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with the Rev. Stephen M. Coran officiating. Friends will be received from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Program of the Community Nursing Service of Clinton County, 124 Woodward Ave., P.O. Box 904, Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.

Orva Mae Streck
Orva Mae Streck, 72, of Beech Creek, died Monday, April 9, 2001 in Lock Haven Hospital ECU.
She was born Aug. 24, 1928 in Beech Creek, a daughter of the late Charles Streck and Minnie McCloskey Streck Young. She was raised by Charles and Naomi Martz of Beech Creek.
Private family services will be held at the family’s convenience. Arrangements are under the direction of Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.

Theresa Soddart Calhoun
Theresa Soddart Calhoun, 89, of Dushore, died Monday, April 9, 2001 in Laporte.
She and her first husband, Alexander, moved to Lock Haven in 1949, where she worked for the Clinton Paper Company for 28 years. After retiring, she moved to Woolrich and lived there until 1980.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Dushore. Interment will be in Montoursville.

Mae M. Rogers
Mae M. Rogers, 86, of 40 Jay St., Dunnstown, died Monday, April 9, 2001 in ManorCare Health Services, Jersey Shore, after a short illness.
She was born Aug. 26, 1914 in Swissdale, and was the daughter of the late Emanuel K. and Louisa Rader Probst.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest W. Rogers Jr., who died Oct. 26, 1976. They were united in marriage Sept. 24, 1938.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001 in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be John F. Harvey Jr. of the First Church of Christ, Lock Haven. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Lamar Township. Friends will be received in the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Church of Christ through the funeral home.

Sheldon H. Moore
Sheldon H. Moore, 87, of Howard (Nittany Valley), died Saturday, April 7, 2001 in his home.
Born Jan. 28, 1914 in Marion Township, Centre County, he was the son of the late John and Ruth Holmes Moore.
He was married to Sara Ann Fox on Jan. 5, 1938 in Howard. She survives.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard. Rev. Ralph Hock will officiate. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery, Marion Township. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Centre Home Health Care, 221 N. High St., Bellefonte, Pa. 16623.

Betty L. (Asper) Larson
Betty L. (Asper) Larson, 78, formerly of Mt. Wolf, died Sunday, April 8, 2001 in ManorCare, Jersey Shore.
Born June 24, 1922 in York, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Grace E. Uffelman Asper.
She was married to Ture J. Larson who died Jan. 6, 1996.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Haneyville Baptist Church with Rev. John Welshans. Interment will be in Haneyville Cemetery. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington.

Madeline M. (Mickey) Rooney
Madeline M. (Mickey) Rooney, 82, of 303 Girard St., Mill Hall, formerly of 153 14th St., Renovo, died April 7, 2001 in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Born May 27, 1918 in Renovo, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Christine Bruno De Marte.
She was married to Homer E. Rooney on June 28, 1952 in Renovo. He died Aug. 14, 1970.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Renovo. The Rev. Donald Boslett, her pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hyner. Friends will be received one hour prior to services in the church. The family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Renovo. Arrangements entrusted to Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, Mill Hall.

Vito F. Riccardo, 85, of HCR 80 Lock Haven, died Monday, April 2, 2001 in his residence
Born Jan. 15, 1915 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Guiseppe and Michela Siest Riccardo.
On June 8, 1946 in St. Agnes Church, Lock Haven he married Rose M. Mazzotta who died on May 20, 1974.
A Funeral Mass will be at St. Agnes Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, Monday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. Celebrant will be Rev. Monsignor Joseph J. Riccardo of Good Shepherd Church, West Middlesex. Committal in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Moriarity-Dutcavich Funeral Home Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Vigil of the Deceased at 8:00 p.m.
The family suggests Memorials be send to St. Agnes Church through the funeral home.

Martha E. Mills
Martha E. Mills, 88, of Pine Street, Renovo, died Thursday April 5, 2001 at Bucktail Medical Center.
Born Feb. 8, 1913 in Dudley, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Staynes Jones.
She was a 1932 graduate of Dudley High School.
She married the late George “Pete” A. Mills Sr. May 19, 1936 in Hagerstown, Md. He preceded her in death Jan. 20, 1969.
Private services will be held at the family’s convenience. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Maxwell’s Funeral Home in Renovo is in charge of the arrangements.

Gary A. Confer
Gary A. Confer, 54, of 115 Peale Ave., Mill Hall, died Friday, April 6, 2001 in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Born in Altoona on Aug. 17, 1946, he was the son of the late Harold H. Confer and Nancy L. Stauffer Confer who survives in Howard.
On August 16, 1980 he married the former Carol Ann Smith who survives in Mill Hall.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Blanchard Church of Christ with Rev. Russel Moldovan officiating. Friends will be received at the Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in the Schencks Cemetary, Howard.
The family suggests Memorial contributions be sent to the Blanchard Church of Christ, Box 184, Blanchard, Pa. 16826.

Frances E. “Libby” Pletcher, 92, of Lock Haven, formerly of Howard, died March 22 in Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care.
Born Dec. 20, 1908 in Howard Township, she was the daughter of the late Ray W. and Clara Wyland Kunes. Her husband, Fred Pletcher, preceded her in death.
