Mrs. Evelyn M. Nugent, 85, formerly of Avis, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002 in Sycamore Manor in Montoursville.
Born Aug. 3, 1916 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of James Gamble and the former Estella Laubach.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Nugent, Feb. 21, 1981. They were married Aug. 3, 1940.
Memorial services will be Monday, Aug. 5, 2002 at 10 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Rev. Thomas C. Jones, her pastor, will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Arlena Strouse Deitrich
Arlena Strouse Deitrich, 69, of Clintondale, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at the Centre Community Hospital following an extended illness.
Arlena was born Sept. 26, 1932 in Clintondale, the daughter of the late William and Bessie Nihart Strouse.
On Jan. 25, 1952 in Lock Haven, she wed David Walter Deitrich, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2001.
Memorial services will be held at the Clintondale United Methodist Church Sunday Aug. 4, 2002 at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jennett Wertz officiating. Graveside services will be Monday, Aug. 5 at 11:30 a.m. at the Mt. Bethel Cemetery, R.R. Mill Hall. There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to Clintondale U.M.C., 103 Fishing Creek Road, Mill Hall, Pa. 17751, or Porter Township Community Library, R.R. 3 Mill Hall, Pa. 17751.
Arrangements are under the direction of the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home in Howard.

Matilda V. (Kissell) Meredith
Matilda V. Meredith, 93, of Lock Haven, died Saturday, July 27 at home.
She was born Sept. 23, 1908 in Avis.
Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 2 at 11 a.m. at Helt Funeral Chapel, Mill Hall. Burial will be private. Visitation 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Edward F. Draucker
Edward F. Draucker, 80, of Lock Haven died at the Lock Haven Extended Care Unit Tuesday, July 30, 2002, where he had been a resident for seven years.
Born March 1, 1922 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Wesley and Marla Weaver Draucker.
His first wife, Evelyn K. Draucker of Woolrich, survives.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Anna May Vuocolo.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with the Rev. Kenneth Page officiating. Burial will be private. The family will provide the flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Clinton Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, Pa. 17701.

Mabel R. Boatman
Mrs. Mabel R. Boatman, 89, of 1441 Cemetery St., Jersey Shore, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002 in ManorCare Health Center, Jersey Shore.
Born Aug. 28, 1913 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of Harry G. Hughes and the former Clara E. Brooks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Boatman, on Oct. 13, 1986. They were united in marriage March 1, 1933.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Rev. Theodore Van Schoick, her pastor, will officiate.

Arlena M. Deitrich, 69, of Mill Hall, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at the Centre Community Hospital, State College.
Arrangements are under the direction of the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home in Howard and will be announced when completed.

Olive L. Herr, 88, of Lock Haven, formerly of Orviston, died Monday, July 29, 2002 in Susque-View Home.
Born Jan. 20, 1914 in Kato, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Mary Kathryn Switzer Young.
Her husband, Samuel L. Herr, died in September 1987.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002 in Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church, with Rev. Douglas E. Lichty officiating. Burial will be in Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association Inc., 810 Seventh Ave., New York, N.Y. 10019, or to Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church, 889 Summit Hill Road, Howard, Pa. 16841.

Ray S. Lucas
Ray S. Lucas, 75, of Romola, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002 in Miners Hospital in Hastings.
Born Jan. 31, 1927 in Romola, he was the son of the late Miles and Hazel Confer Lucas.
He and his wife, the former Jean Spangler, were married in Monument on Oct. 4, 1947. She survives.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002 in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Graveside military honors will be accorded.

Edward F. Draucker
Edward F. Draucker, 80, of Lock Haven, died Tuesday, July 31, 2002 in the Lock haven Hospital Extended Care Unit, where he had been a resident for seven years.

Robert R. Coxe
Robert R. Coxe, 59, of 8230 Renovo Road, died Monday, July 29, 2002 in Bucktail Medical Center in South Renovo.
Born Nov. 28, 1942, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Robert J. Coxe and Alma Edelman Coxe, who survives in Bradenton, Fla.
His wife, Esther Fuhrer Coxe, survives at home.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no public visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Clinton County Sportsmen’s Association, P.O. Box 1, Renovo, Pa. 17764.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall.

Sharon F. McNeeley
Sharon F. McNeeley, 57, formerly of West Church Street, Lock Haven, died Monday, July 29, 2002 in the Huffman Street group home of Hope Enterprises in Williamsport.
She was born April 9, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Josephine M. Semuno McNeeley.
The funeral mass will be Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at 11 a.m. in St. Agnes Catholic Church, Lock Haven, with the Rev. Sean Code officiating. Friends will be received at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Thursday morning from 10 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.

Rhea J. Probst
Rhea J. Probst, 75, of 14 Fleming Lane, Castanea, died Friday, July 26, 2002 at Susque-View, where she had been a guest since November 2001.
Born Dec. 3, 1926 in Northumberland County, she was the daughter of Charles and Nora Crawford Sechrist.
Mrs. Probst was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Probst Jr. in 1985.
The funeral will be Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with Rev. Dr. Edward L. Thigpen Sr. officiating. Friends and relatives may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 35 Bellefonte Ave., Lock Haven, Pa. 17745. The family will provide the flowers.

Ellen M. Rote Fetter
Ellen M. Rote Fetter, 79, formerly of 41 N. Jones St., Lock Haven, died Sunday, July 28, 2002 at Susque-View Home.
Born July 31, 1922 in Monument, she was the daughter of the late Pater Ignatus and Bessie Merryman.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lynn D. Rote, in 1971, and her second husband, John P. Fetter, in 1986.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2002 in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with Father Sean Code officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Sharon F. McNeeley, 57, formerly of Church Street, Lock Haven, died today, July 29, 2002, at Hope Enterprises Group Home in Williamsport.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, and will be announced when completed.

Ruthel Miller Bolopue
Funeral services were held Friday, July 26, 2002, for Ruthel Miller Bolopue, 91, a resident of Tempe, Ariz., who died March 15, 2002.
She was born Feb. 7, 1911 in Beech Creek, and was the daughter of Minnie and Alva Miller, late of Blanchard.
Her husband, Richard A. Bolopue, died in 1958.
Interment was at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.

Alvin N. Nichols Sr.
Alvin N. Nichols Sr., 73, of 3094 Rauchtown Road, Rauchtown, died Thursday, July 25, 2002 at home.
Born Sept. 21, 1928, in Tombs Run, he was a son of Lorin and Katie Kissell Nichols.
He and his wife, Janet R. Nichols, were married May 26, 1951, and recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary, she survives.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. The Rev. Brian K. Roloson will officiate. Friends will be received Monday from noon to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Collin Andrew Welshans
Collin Andrew Welshans was stillborn Wednesday, July 24, 2002 in the Williamsport Hospital.
He was the son of Lyle H. Welshans Jr. and the former Nicole L. Paxon.
Private family services and burial in the Limestone Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Rev. Dennis Crissman will officiate. Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, is in charge of arrangements.

William G. Goodbrod
William G. Goodbrod, 74, of 301 Glover St., Jersey Shore, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002 in the Williamsport Hospital.
Born May 14, 1928 in Williamsport, he was the son of Harry and Bessie Harman Goodbrod.
He married the former Helen Bottorf on June 1, 1948, and they recently celebrated 54 years of marriage.
A celebration of William’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Fairplay Gospel Fellowship, 1625 Walnut St., Jersey Shore, with Pastors George J. Morton, Ron Savits, Michael Guiswite and Mark Beard officiating. Friends may call at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home Ltd. “A Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a Citizens Hose Co. service at 8:30 p.m. Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Fairplay Gospel Fellowship Church or the Citizens Hose Co., 1212 Locust St., Jersey Shore, Pa. 17740.

Dr. Harriet E. Parker
Dr. Harriet E. Parker, 85, of Lock Haven, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002 in the Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Sept. 3, 1916 in Aldan, she was a daughter of the late Gustavus Adolphus and Ada Loux Weisgerber.
She married the late Charles E. Parker Sr. on Feb. 27, 1941.
Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Kathryn Glossner Hoy
Kathryn P. Glossner Hoy, 94, of 1226 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at her home.
Her first husband, Charles L. Glossner, died in 1948, and her second husband, John Howard Hoy, died in 1986.
In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, there will be no visitation or service. Interment will be in Turbotville Cemetery. Knight-Confer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Michael A. DelGrippo Jr.
Michael A. DelGrippo Jr., 58, died at his home in Juliet, Tenn., on July 15, 2002.
Formerly of Lock Haven, he was the son of Michael A. DelGrippo Sr. of Pine Haven and Muriel M. LaBelle, who preceded him in death in 1984.
His wife, Ann, survives. Funeral services were held at Bond Memorial Chapel, Mount Juliet, Tenn., at 2 p.m. July 20.

Ruthel Miller Bolopue
Ruthel Miller Bolopue, 91, a resident of Tempe, Ariz. for 36 years, died March 15, 2002.
She was born Feb. 7, 1911 in Beech Creek, daughter of Minnie and Alva Miller, late of Blanchard. Her husband, Richard A. Bolopue, died in 1958.
Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall, at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Church of Christ in Blanchard.

Anson Baker Jr.
Anson Baker Jr., known as “Al” or “Doc,” 59, of 4158 Long Run Road, Loganton, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2002 at his home which he shared with Jeanne I. Mantle. They celebrated their eighth anniversary June 18, 2002.
Born Oct. 10, 1942 in Dover, N.J. to Anson A. Baker Sr. and Mildred Bailey Baker, now deceased, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy.
The funeral service will be held in the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home Inc., Main and Water streets, Loganton, Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Deibler officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Rosecrans.
