Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 29, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Rev. Michael W. Abernathy of the First Church of Christ, Lock Haven. Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park, Dunnstable Township. Friends will be received in the funeral home Sunday, July 29, 2001 from noon until the time of the services.

Helen S. Drake
Helen S. Drake, 86, of 21 Quiggle Ave., Castanea, a guest of Susque-View Home, died Friday, July 27, 2001 in Susque-View Home.
Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home.

Rodger A. Wertz
Memorial services for Rodger A. Wertz, 67, of Renovo, who died at Bucktail Medical Center on Saturday, July 14, 2001, will be held Sunday, July 29, 2001 at the Christian Community Church in South Renovo. Pastor Rusty Blessard will officiate. Interment will follow in Halls Run Cemetery at the family’s convenience.

Lillian L. Nyman, 69, of Mill Hall, died Thursday, July 26, 2001 in Williamsport Hospital.
Born April 23, 1932 in Howard, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Irene Huntington Heaton.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 30, 2001 at 10:30 a.m., in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard. Pastor Lon Belcher will officiate. Burial will be in Romola Christian Cemetery, Curtin Township. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2001, in the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania, 4813 Johnstown Road, Harrisburg, Pa. 17101.

Sara A. Gingery, 85, of Irwin Street, Lock Haven, died Tuesday, July 24, at Susque-View Home.
She was born Aug. 31, 1915 in Lock Haven, a daughter of the late Harold C. and Grace Grugan McCloskey.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 26, at 8 p.m. in the Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with the Rev. Theodore Cockley officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Association of NEPA, 71 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 17745.

Dale A. Van Sickle
Dale A. Van Sickle, 58, of East Renovo, died suddenly at his residence, on Tuesday, July 24.
He was born in Renovo on Aug. 16, 1943, and was the son of the late Alvin C. Van Sickle and Julia V. (Adomaitis) Van Sickle of North Bend.
Funeral services will be at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, at 10 a.m. Friday, with Rev. Mahlon Nevel officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, with full military services conducted by the Marine Corp League. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Masonic services will be at 8:45 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are requested to the Bucktail Medical Center Expansion Fund.

Born Sept. 14, 1939 in Barnsboro, he was the son of Alden J. Maines and the former Ruth E. Records.
Memorial services will be Saturday, July 28, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Salladasburg Cemetery.

Patricia Ann Allen, 56, of 1881 Log Run Road, Williamsport, died Monday, July 23, 2001, in her residence.
Born Aug. 4, 1944 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of William E. and Vivian A. Nuss Hunter of Duboistown.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday in in the Third Street United Methodist Church, 931 E. Third St., Williamsport. The Rev. Robert Wallace will officiate. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Elizabeth Fulmer Castlebury Moltz, 78, of Fullerton, Calif., died Thursday, July 19, 2001, in Fullerton.
Born March 5, 1922 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Galen D. and Nell Bachle Castlebury.
Funeral services will be at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, on Friday, July 27, at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Henry Gable, retired from the United Methodist Church of Clarkstown, and lay minister Galen D. Castlebury of Lamar United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.

Benn Edward Clouser, 76, of Wilmington, Del., died Thursday, July 19, from brain cancer.
He was born Aug. 1, 1924 in Washington, D.C., grew up in New Bloomfield, and graduated from Penn State.
A memorial service will be at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, 500 McKennan’s Church Road, Wilmington, on Saturday, July 28, at 1 p.m.

Donald E. Stretch, 57, of Yardley, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, along with his fiancee, Lori Cheviron, as a result of a plane accident in Chenoa Township, Ill.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Morrisville United Methodist Church, Maple and Taft avenues, Morrisville, with the Rev. John Taylor, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, N.J.
Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the church.

Elnora Anna Bodle, 70, of Mill Hall, died July 21, with her family by her side, after fighting a lengthy battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, with Pastor David Kanski officiating. Interment will be in Dunnstown Cemetery.

Myrtle E. Dixson, 88, of Jacksonville, died Friday, July 20, 2001 in Centre Community Hospital.

Eva A. Overturf, 68, of Mill Hall, died at Lock Haven Hospital, Saturday, July 21, 2001.
Memorial funeral services will be held at the Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home, 232 Hogan Blvd, Mill Hall, at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Allen Hess officiating.
Private family burial services will take place at a later date in Morningside Cemetery in Dubois. The family will received friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the services. Donations are requested to the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit in Eva’s memory. Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Bertha R. Heckman, 86, of Hublersburg, died Saturday in Susque-View Home.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hublersburg. Burial will be in Hublersburg Cemetery.

David E. Young, 87, of 484 Martins Road, Linden, died Sunday at ManorCare in Jersey Shore, where he had been a guest for two days.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with his pastor, Rev. Thomas Fetterolf, officiating. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from noon until 1 p.m.

James Vaccaro, 75, of 3 Eisenhower Blvd, Penn Township, Duncannon, passed away Saturday morning, at the Select Specialty Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in his church with the Rev. William Forrey as celebrant. Burial will be in the Duncannon Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Malpezzi Funeral Home, 7 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg.

Lila H. Shuman
Lila H. Shuman, 78, died Friday at ManorCare Home, Jersey Shore, where she had been a guest three years. She was formerly of 306 Burke St., Jersey Shore.
She was born in Jersey Shore on May 27, 1923, a daughter of Guy and Vinnie Myers Hunter.
Her husband, Lester E. Shuman, died in December of 1978.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with her pastor, Rev. Keith Rockwell, officiating. Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home Monday from noon until 1 p.m.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Albright Yarnell.

Betty H. Dickey, 74, of 438 S. Broad St., Box 28, Jersey Shore, died early Thursday morning, July 19, 2001 at her home.
She was born July 4, 1927 in Youngdale, the daughter of the late Franklin E. Hammersley and the former Dollie Walker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Dickey Sr., on May 10, 1986.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 23, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Rev. John Libert will officiate. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the funeral home. There will be a rosary service at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Lillian (Oyler) Knights, 88, of Downingtown, formerly of Lock Haven, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at Brandywine Hospital, Coatesville.
She was the wife of the late Frank S. Knights, who died in 1994. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2001, in the Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall. Family and friends may call the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Lock Haven.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to United Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 772, Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.
Arrangements are being handled by the James J. Terry Funeral Home, Downingtown.

Kenneth J. Butelli
Kenneth J. Butelli, 57, of Port Richey, Fla., died Sunday, July 8, 2001.
Born May 21, 1944 in New Eagle, he moved to Howard in 1986.
His wife, Kathie, survives.
A memorial service will be Saturday, July 21, 2001 at 1 p.m. in Howard United Methodist Church with Valerie Stedman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hernando/Pasco Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd., Hudson, Fla. 34667.
Arrangements are under the direction of Prevatt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Hudson, Fla.

Alta Jean Mantle
Alta Jean Mantle passed into the Lord’s hands with the presence of her family on July 18, 2001, at her home on Masden Hollow Road in Beech Creek.
She was born on Aug. 10, 1928, to the late Harry and Ethel Coder in Howard.
On Sept. 9, 1956, Alta Jean married Curtis L. Mantle at Mill Hall parsonage, he survives.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Corman. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Clinton Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, Pa. 17701 or the American Red Cross, 320 E. Third St., Williamsport, Pa. 17701. In Alta’s memory, please remember the GREAT NEED FOR BLOOD DONATIONS.
