Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Rodney Haselhuhn, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Temperance, will officiate. Burial will be in LaSalle Township Cemetery, LaSalle.

NEW BOSTON -- Anna J. Marton, 76, of New Boston died Saturday in the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Waltz. The Rev. William L. Morris and Dr. Dennis M. Berkesch, pastors of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock.

FLAT ROCK -- John W. Jorden, 72, of Flat Rock died Sunday in Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, Wyandotte. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Rex Jones Jr., pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, Monroe, will officiate. Burial will be in Michigan Memoiral Park, where services will be conducted by the Downriver Honor Guard.

ERIE -- Christine B. Morrin, 84, of Erie, died Saturday evening at Heatherdowns Convelescent Center. She had been ill for a week. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bennett Funeral Home, Erie, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Erie, where the Rev. Joseph Pawlecki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Erie.

Luella D. Giznsky, 86, of Monroe died Sunday morning in Greenbrook Manor. She had been ill for three months. Friends may call from 1-9 tonight and from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Allore Funeral Home, where the rosary will b recited at 6 p.m. Tuesday, by Sister Harriet of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and at 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Bauer, grandson of Mrs. Giznsky and pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carleton, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

ERIE -- Timothy E. Stachak, 58, of Erie died Sunday evening in his home, following a long battle with cancer. Friends may call from 6 until a wake service at 8 tonight at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The Rev. Dan Earley will officiate. His body has been donated to the Medical College of Ohio.

Sarah (Sally) A. Shaffer
March 24, 1935-Jan. 30, 1999
JOHANNESBURG -- Sarah (Sally) A. Shaffer, 63, of Johannesburg, formerly of Monroe, died Saturday at Northern Michigan Hospital, Petoskey. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the Nelson Funeral Home, Gaylord, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Thomas Mammoser will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Johannesburg.

Harry Charles Zahn

TEMPERANCE -- Harry Charles Zahn, 74, of Temperance, died at 9 p.m. Sunday in his home. He had been ill for several months. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Farnham Funeral Home, Temperance, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. David Claassen of Mayfair Plymouth Congregational Church, Toledo, will officiate. Cremation will follow.

MILAN -- Martha Jane (Chick) Hoyt, 85, of Milan, formerly of Tecumseh, died Monday at Saline Evangelical Home. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. David J. Grinnell, pastor of York Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Marble Park Cemetery, Milan.

CARLETON -- Virginia Harvell, 56, of Carleton, died Sunday following an illness. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Southern Michigan Services, Livonia. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert A. Bauer, pastor of the church, will officiate. The Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Gary Tryggestad, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

Sister Leo Therese Canavan, Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 91, died Tuesday in the IHM Health Care Center, where she had been since 1992. Friends may call from 2-8 tonight at the St. Mary Motherhouse, where a memorial service will be held at 7 tonight. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Motherhouse Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery on the Motherhouse campus. The Rupp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He will lie in state from 9:30 until services at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Suzanne Church.
