Shoup, Cicilia A. 'CC' Sunday, 10 Aug 2003
Cicilia A. 'CC' Shoup, 55, longtime former Bellingham resident, died Aug. 10, 2003, in Oak Harbor following an extended illness.
Ms. Shoup was born June 27, 1948 in Muncie, Ind. She lived in Muncie until age 13, when she moved to San Diego, Calif. CC graduated from Chula Vista High School. She moved to Detroit, Mich., where she lived for several years before moving back to California, where she lived again in San Diego, and then Los Angeles. In 1996, she moved to Spokane, and then to Bellingham in 1997.
CC was a meat wrapper for Safeway for 23 years. In 1994 she was involved in a motorcycle accident, which presented some physical challenges to her during the last years of her life. CC was not a quitter, and rose to meet these challenges with determination. Prior to the accident, she enjoyed woodworking and traveling. Following the accident, she continued her love of travel, and added to that the pleasure she received from sipping coffee and visiting with friends, particularly at Starbucks. She was very outgoing and gregarious, and sought to greet strangers with warmth and friendliness.
CC is survived by many friends, including her very close friends Renee Bunn, Shelli McGee and Jim and Tiger Lake, all of Oak Harbor, as well as the entire Allison family. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Rosalind and Wallace Airhart.
In keeping with her wishes, no service will be held. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Jo Balda, treasurer, P.O. Box 345, Oak Harbor, WA 98277. Arrangements by Burley Funeral Chapel.

Henry (Kahawaii), Pauline Leilani Saturday, 09 Aug 2003
Pauline Leilani Henry (Kahawaii) was born June 22, 1934, to Joseph Moku Kahawaii and Nellie Saunders Kahawaii in Honolulu, Hawaii. She and her husband lived and raised their family in Oak Harbor. She peacefully slept away the last moments of her life Aug. 9, 2003 with family and friends in Tacoma.
Pauline is survived by her seven children, Willie, Barb, Ron, Clay, John, Linda and Audrey. There are also 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Her life was filled with grace and the love of her many children and grandchildren. She will be missed and loved forever.
A celebration of her life was held Aug.16 at Mountain View Garden Chapel. Arrangements were by Mountain View Funeral Home, Tacoma.

Hudson, Naomi Margaret Friday, 08 Aug 2003
Naomi Margaret Hudson, 81, died Aug. 8, 2003, at her home in Oak Harbor. She was born Jan. 8, 1922, in Omaha, Neb., to Arthur C. and Mary (Fitzgerald) Anderson. She spent most of her life in Omaha, Neb. She and husband David W. Hudson raised 13 children. Mrs. Hudson was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Omaha.
Mrs. Hudson was an active member of her church for much of her life.
Mrs. Hudson is survived by 12 children and their spouses: Linda and Jim Mayer and Ron and Kathy Hudson, all of Omaha; Judy Hudson, John Hudson and Kathy and Mike McArdle, all of Bellevue, Neb.; Mary Jo and Jerry Sund of Omaha, Neb.; Teresa Hudson and Stan Grabowski of Bellevue; Tom Hudson, Steve Hudson and Guylah, Marcia and Bill Monzu, Mike Hudson, all of Omaha, Neb.; and Debbie and Keith Fontano of Oak Harbor. Twenty-eight grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband David and by one son Don Hudson.
Funeral Mass was celebrated Aug.14 at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church; burial followed at St. Mary Magdaline Cemetery, Omaha, Neb. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.

Stacey, Dawn Melinda 'Sunshine' Friday, 08 Aug 2003
Dawn Melinda 'Sunshine' Stacey was born Sept. 26, 1955, in Seattle to Gordon and Paula Howard Monahan. She died at home Aug. 8, 2003.
She was very creative. She tattooed original designs, was a florist and made her own jewelry. She loved animals and would take in the injured and ill and nurse them back to health.
Dawn was a member of ABATE of Washington. She performed many duties including secretary, treasurer and security at numerous functions.
Dawn is survived by her father, Gordon Monahan and his wife Angela of Whidbey Island; mother Paula Trotter and husband Tomie of Vashon Island; brother Bradley Trimmer and wife Trina; nieces Dominique and Kirsten and nephews Bryan, Cameron and Benjamin Trimmer, and many dear friends, all of Whidbey Island.
There will be a celebration of her life Saturday, Aug. 23, at 3 p.m. at Greenbank Community Hall, Greenbank.

Angel, Roberto A. Sunday, 28 Dec 2003
Roberto A. Angel, 63, 11-year resident of Oak Harbor, died Dec. 28, 2003 at Island Hospital in Anacortes.
Mr. Angel was born in Cavite City, Philippines, Aug. 20, 1940, to Celso Angel and Timotea (Angeles) Angel. Roberto was married to Virginia Manago in September 1968. The couple moved to Oak Harbor in October 1992. He enjoyed fishing.
Roberto is survived by his wife, Virginia, at home; his three sons, Roberto Angel, Jr. and wife Jinky of Layton, Utah, Ronaldo Angel and fiancee Teri and Alberto Angel and wife Thelma, all of Oak Harbor; four grandchildren, Stephen, Rachelle, Janna Mae and Danica; three brothers, Alfonso Angel of Olongapo City, Philippines, Rosauro Angel of San Diego, Calif. and Romeo Angel of Guam; and one sister, Visitacion Figuerres of Virginia Beach, Va. He was preceded in death by several step-brothers and step-sisters in the Philippines.
Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 3 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel, followed by a Mass at St. Augustines Catholic Church at 7:30 p.m., with the Rev. Ronald Belisle, celebrant. Arrangements under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.

Magolio Sr., Jacky Franke Sunday, 28 Dec 2003
Jacky Franke Magolio, Sr., 42, died Dec. 28, 2003, at his home in Crawfordsville, Ark. He is survived by a son, Jack Magolio, Jr., of Crawfordsville, Ark.; his mother, Jane Tankersley of West Memphis, Ark.; his step-father, Buford Tankersley of West Memphis, Ark.; his sister, Susan Larson, of Oak Harbor; ste- sister Lynn Orren of Munford, Tenn.; step-brother O'Neal Tankersley also of Munford, Tenn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Fidelity National Bank in honor of Jacky Franke Magolio, Sr. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel, 201 Pine, West Memphis, Ark.; (870)-735-1000.

Barrington, Jr., William Hill Saturday, 27 Dec 2003
William Hill Barrington, Jr., 84, died Nov. 27, 2003, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
Mr. Barrington was born April 1, 1919, in San De Fuca to Capt. William Hill and Mildred Barrington. Family business included sternwheeler riverboats on the Stikine River. He grew up in Oak Harbor and Wrangell, Alaska.
He was educated at the University of Washington and Griffin-Murphy Business College in Seattle. Working with Barrington Transportation Co., in Wrangell, he met his bride Elna Arola and they married Jan. 23, 1944, at St. Philips Episcopal Church. They moved to Skagway where he joined the U.S. Customs Service, later transferring to Eagle and Juneau and moving to Anchorage after retiring in 1964. Until his death, he continued to work in the maritime industry, becoming a familiar figure at the airport and Port of Anchorage. His experience in the shipping industry took him to far points in Alaska where his gracious and kind nature gained him the love and respect of all he encountered.
He is preceded in death by his parents and seven uncles, four of whom with his parents were pioneers of the Gold Rush of 1898.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elna Barrington of Anchorage; children and their spouses, William Hill and Marlene Barrington III of Tacoma, Victoria Rich, Dr. Edward and Donna Barrington, Liisa and Brian Johnson, all of Anchorage; grandchildren, Eva Michels of Los Angeles, Jamie Rich, Owen and Eden Barrington, and Arthur and Syd Johnson of Anchorage; and extended family in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and Whidbey Island.
Mr. Barrington was a 54-year member of the Pioneers of Alaska, the Irish Claddagh Society, Finlandia Club, Scottish Club and Christ Church Episcopal.
Mr. Barrington was known for his love of dancing, his remarkable personality and sense of humor. He was always courteous, never speaking ill of anyone.
A service will be held Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. at All Saints' Episcopal Church. Mr. Barrington's remains will be interred at Sunnyside Cemetery, Coupeville. Funeral arrangements are made with Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street, Anchorage, Alaska.

Krieg Moch, Kia Lynn Saturday, 27 Dec 2003
Our beloved Kia Lynn Krieg Moch left us suddenly and swiftly from a frightening illness on Dec. 27, 2003. We all loved her very much and have been blessed with the time we have shared with her. Kia was born in Coupeville Sept. 18, 1977. She graduated from high school in Anchorage, Alaska in 1995. She is a graduate of the University of Washington in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in business.
Kia's greatest joy is her husband Tyler and their beautiful wedding that took place August 9, 2003 at the home of her beloved grandparents, Karl and Darlyne Krieg. Kia was a planner and accomplished her work and life with the love, artistry and grace that was uniquely hers. Kia will be remembered by her love and enthusiasm for life and her devotion to family. Her kindness and generosity made everyone who knew her instantly welcome her into their hearts. She was the glue that held us all together. She loved children, sporting activity, reading, and scrap booking.
These last three years Kia worked for Krieg Construction in Oak Harbor. She loved her job and loved working with her family's business. She was the future generation of the company. Kia was a certified public accountant, something that she and her family are very proud of.
Kia is survived by her devoted husband, Gaston Tyler Moch; her parents, Chuck Krieg and Cindy Armstrong; her sisters, Kristi and Sarah; her brother Charlie: paternal grandparents Karl and Darlyne Krieg; her maternal grandparents Doris and Howard Gilmore: uncles and aunts Don and Shelli Krieg, Randy and Michele Krieg, Jim and Danni Krieg, Karlyne and Wayne Trumble, Mike and Kim Armstrong; a great-aunt Shirley Ronhaar; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Arvin 'Pete' Armstrong, uncle Ronald Armstong and great-grandfather Buster Krieg and most recently her dearest great-grandmother Esther Krieg.
Kia was deeply loved by her new husband's family, Tyler's mother Susan Swisher, maternal grandparents Benjamin and Edith Swisher, uncles and aunts Alan and Marilyn Swisher, Bruce Swisher, Todd and MaryJo Swisher, and cousins Kyle Swisher and Jaclyn Swisher. Tyler's father Robert and wife Donna Moch, sister Janna Sondena and a niece Brianna, nephew Seth, stepbrothers Brian and Scott Chamberlin, uncles and aunts, Mike Moch and cousin Sarah, Marilynn Moch and cousin Barbara Jill, and all of their extended family and friends.
Kia leaves behind many beloved friends in Anchorage who share life-long memories of her beautiful smile and spirit.
A celebration of Kia's life will be held at First Reformed Church, 250 SW Third Ave. in Oak Harbor, at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 3. Burial will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow the burial at the First Reformed Church Fellowship hall. A celebration of life will be planned and announced at a later date in Anchorage.
A memorial donation may be made to Kia's favorite charity Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Whidbey Island in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.

Snook, Marjorie Alice Ireland Saturday, 27 Dec 2003
Marjorie Alice Ireland Snook, 101, died Dec. 27, 2003, at the Mathis Adult Family Home, Oak Harbor. She was born April 18, 1902, in Minneapolis to Herbert W. and Annie (Goddard) Ireland.
Marjorie was raised in Pendleton, Ore. She married Meurice Carroll Snook while attending Oregon State College in Corvallis. She was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority.
Mrs. Snook resided in Seattle, The Dalles, Albany, Portland and Beaverton, Ore. before moving to Oak Harbor in 1997 to be near her son and daughter-in-law. She enjoyed playing bridge and belonging to several bridge groups in Oregon.
One son and daughter-in-law, James and Janet Snook of Oak Harbor survive Mrs. Snook. Eight grandchildren, James D. 'Jay' Snook of Clarkston; Jeffrey Snook of Palouse; Joseph Snook of Poulsbo; Jennifer Laws of Spokane; Lisa Young of Eugene, Ore.; William H. Snook of Lake Oswego, Ore.; Marcia Snook-Cunningham of Salem, Ore.; and Timothy Snook of Vancouver and 13 great grandchildren also survive. Her husband, Meurice Snook and one son Dr. William M. Snook preceded her in death.
Mrs. Snook requested no formal funeral services be conducted. Cremation was held with inurnment to follow at River View Abbey, Portland, Ore.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
