William Samuel McCuistion, 90, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, in Clifton. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Floyd-Harp, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include one son, Merle McCuistion of Lorena; one sister, Bea Crow of Katy; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Daisy O. Hawkins
BELLEVUE, Neb. - Daisy O. Hawkins, 89, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Bellevue Memorial Chapel in Bellevue, Neb. Interment was in the Bellevue Cemetery under the direction of Bellevue Memorial Funeral Chapel. Survivors include her husband, Robert; daughter-in-law Lewanda Hicks and husband Frank of Bellevue; three granddaughters, Annette Dike of Omaha, Donna Janulewicz of Kansas City, Kan., and Linda Denne of Griswold, Iowa; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edgar R. "Elkie" Blair
FORT WORTH - Edgar R. "Elkie" Blair, 73, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, in Dallas. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Chapel under the direction of Greenwood Funeral Home.

William "W.G." Glen Ashford
William "W.G." Glen Ashford, 86, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at BSA Hospice in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown’s Chapel of the Fountains with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include three sons, Windell Ashford, of Borger, Billy Ashford of Texas and Joe Ashford of Ada, Okla.; two brothers, Steve Ashford of Durant, Okla., and Clifton Ashford of Ida Belle, Okla.; one sister, Marie Beherns of Mannsville, Okla.; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Claude C. Petty
Claude C. Petty, 82, died Monday, May 21, 2001 in Borger. Services were held at 10 a.m.Thursday at Riverview Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, pastor, officiating and Mr. Scott Willace, assisting. Interment was in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Inez Petty of the home; two sons, Mike and Carol Petty and Tim and Cara Petty all of Borger; four daughters, Dale and Marcella Hightown of Childress, Bob and Linda Kittell, Paul and Nancy Marshall and Randy and Tammy Gressett, all of Borger; three step-brothers, Thurman Thornton of Ruston, La., Leon Thornton of Weatherford, Texas, and Elvie Thornton of Marshall, Okla.; one sister, Sylvia Robertson of Marshall, Okla.; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Dean Allen Thomas
Dean Allen Thomas, 35, died Monday, May 28, 2001, in St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kan.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Brown’s Chapel of the Fountains with Rev. Ricky Griffin, pastor of First Baptist Church in Sanford, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Borger under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include one daughter, Brittany Thomas of Stinnett; parents, Pat and Ronnie Thomas of Borger; two brothers, Jared Thomas of Borger and David and Kay Lynn Thomas of Little River, Kan.; three nephews, Jeremy Thomas, Derek Thomas and Hunter Thomas, all of Little River, Kan.; maternal grandparents, John and Mary Mars of Borger and paternal grandfather, Austin McKinney of Rotan.

O.P. "Heavy" Henderson
O.P. "Heavy" Henderson, 93, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in Amarillo.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Borger Assembly of God Church with Calvin Newton, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens in Pampa under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Marie Rose Woods
ENID, Okla. - Marie Rose Woods, 82, died Monday, May 28, 2001, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Central Assembly of God Church with Rev. Aller Poldson officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Survivors include two sons, Billy Glen Woods of Enid, Okla., and Roger Dean Woods of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one daughter, Paula Jane Laird of Caldwell; two brothers, J.T. Gentzel of Ennis and W.O. Gentzel of Dallas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Opal Dennis
Opal Dennis, 93, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, in Dumas Moore County Hospital. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of God with Rev. Jonathan Back, pastor, and Rev. Buck Lawley, retired pastor, officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors. Survivors include four sons, David and Danny Dennis of Borger, Bobby Dennis and Tommy Dennis of Fritch; two daughters, Marie Brown of Amarillo and Sarah Hopkins of Borger; nine grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Rita Gayle Weldon
PANHANDLE - Rita Gayle Weldon, 60, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, in Borger Health Care Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Alanreed Cemetery in Alanreed with Rev. Jim Bible officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include her father, Olin J. Weldon of Alanreed; two sisters, Peggy Hestilow of Borger and Beth Flowers of Panhandle and two grandchildren.

Nova Lane Shaw
Nova Lane Shaw, 92, of Borger, died Friday, May 4, 2001, in North Plains Care Center. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Prague Cemetery in Prague, Okla., with Pastor Steve Roach officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include two sons, Jack Lane of Stinnett and Dave Lane of Groom; two step-children, Buck Shaw of Tyler and Clyde Shaw of Savannah, Ga.; six grandsons, two great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Frances Potter
Frances Potter, 78, died Monday, April 30, 2001, in North Plains Care Center. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at West Park Cemetery in Hereford with Rev. Wayne Hudson, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors. Survivors include two sisters, Beatrice Hudson of Alvin and Barbara Hudson of Dimmitt.

Curtis Robert Lowrance, 47, died Monday, April 30, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Eternal Light Pentecostal Church with Pastor Willie Adams officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his mother, Kathryn Mae Bover of Borger; his wife, Michelle Lowrance of the home; one son, Larin Lowrance of Borger; two daughters, Leslie Carson of Toledo, Ohio, and Caleena Lowrance of Borger; four sisters, Cathy McNeely of Des Moines, Iowa, Leona Newvine of Borger, Sara Lowrance and Helen Amyx, both of Harrison, Ark., and one grandchild.

FRITCH - Robert Clair Heeter, 74, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, in his home in Fritch. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church in Fritch. Burial will be at a later date. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of the home; three sons, Gary Heeter of Fritch, Barry Heeter of Baltimore, Md. and Kenard McAdams of Denton; one daughter, Kay Merris of Moore, Okla.; one brother, William Heeter of Garland; three sisters, Betty May of Everett, Pa., Sarah Swindell of Kirkland, Ohio and Doris Swindell of Hopewell, Pa.; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Jack V. Botkin, 77, died Thursday, May 3, 2001, in Borger. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Roger Harwerth, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Westlawn Park under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Mary Botkin of the home; two sons, Craig Botkin and Steve Botkin; two daughters, Judianne Ambrosio and Becky Botkin, all of Austin and eight grandchildren.
