STINNETT – Brian Lee Price, 22, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, in Amarillo from a severe asthma attack. Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his parents, C.H. and Lori Price of Stinnett; one brother, Colby Price of Borger; one sister, Kara Young of Borger and grandparents, Thelma Hunter of Stinnett and Joyce and E.C. Price of Stinnett.

Marion "Rachel" Gibbs
Marion "Rachel" Gibbs, 89, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, in Borger. Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include four sons, Don Gibbs of Fritch, Kin Gibbs of Canyon, Jerry Gibbs of Red Oak and Melvin Gibbs of Burleson; three daughters, Sandra Joslin of Borger, Annette Brooks of Fritch and Wanda Melvin of Ashdown, Ark.; one brother, Henry Gibbs of Ranger; one sister, Ruth Jordan of California; 23 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Ada Mae "Nanny" Collins
FRITCH – Ada Mae "Nanny" Collins, 66, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, in her home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Assembly of God Borger with Calvin Newton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include one son, Terry Collins of Fritch; one daughter, Brenda Gray of Fritch; one brother, James Oscar Anthony, Jr. of Avant, Okla.; two sisters, Alta Bagwell and Deloris Brown both of Fritch; four grandchildren, Ryan, Brittney, and Ashleigh Gray and Shana Collins.

Bobbie Faye Dosher Bartush
GARLAND – Bobbie Faye Dosher Bartush, 73, long time Borger resident and formerly of Littlefield, Tx., passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, in Baylor Garland Hospital in Garland after a short illness.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Hemphill Chapel at First Baptist in Littlefield, Tx. Arrangements are under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield. Survivors include two sons, Joe Pat Hart, Jr. and Myrna Hart of Copperas Cove, Steve and Menyon Hart of Borger; one daughter, Beth and Chris Epps of Bedford; six grandchildren, Amy and Greg Hart, Jenny and Matt Hart, Alex and Ryan Epps; one sister, Zelma and Carlton B. (Stretch) Elliott and numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry Duwayne Dunn
Larry Duwayne Dunn, 60, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, in the V.A. Hospital in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Highland Park Cemetery with Pastor Vince Inman of Abundant Life Fellowship officiating. Burial will be in the Eastlawn Garden of Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Jan of the home; two sons, Larry Dunn of Borger and Chris Dunn of Bakersfield, Calif.; one daughter, Kelle Clark of Woodward, Okla.; his mother, Opal Dunn of Borger; three sisters, Laqueta Russell of Stinnett; Geneva Walker of Kingston, Okla., and Donna Cano of Borger and four grandchildren.

Kenneth M. Axelrod
Kenneth M. Axelrod, 85, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with Earl Herring and Bernard Cohen officiaiting. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulsa, Okla. under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Axelrod of the home; one son, Dwight Axelrod of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Sheryl and Harold Springer of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Phyllis Melinger of Amarillo and two grandchildren, Sean Massie and Eric Massie.

D.A. "Hap" Watson
GROOM – D.A. "Hap" Watson, 80, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, in Amarillo. Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Survivors include his wife, Vernie Watson of the home; one son, Mike Watson of Claude; three daughters, Lynne James of Happy, Jocelyn Hopkins and Shelly Watson both of Amarillo; two sisters, Jerrie Bolles of Plainview and Lela Lester of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Clarence Lee Bowling
FRITCH – Clarence Lee Bowling, 64, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, in Fritch. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation was under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Chapel in Fritch. Survivors include his wife, Helen Bowling of the home; three sons, Ronnie Bowling of Oklahoma, C.J. Bowling and Rocky Bowling both of Fritch; three daughters, Bonnie Gilmore of Durant, Okla., Evelyn Bowling and Diane Bowling both of Fritch; four brothers, one sister and seven grandchildren.

Andrew Wayne Horner
Andrew Wayne Horner, infant, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Panhandle Cemetery with Rev. Jim Perkins, pastor of First Baptist Church of Panhandle, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Baby Andrew was the stillborn son of Chad and Natalie Horner of Panhandle. Paternal grandparents are Everett Wayne Horner and Rebecca Bednorz, and maternal grandparents are Bernadette and Sam Cook, all of Panhandle.

Donald Hugh Smith, Jr.
SPEARMAN – Donald Hugh Smith, Jr., 51, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, in Borger. Services were held Friday at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Spearman with Rev. Beverly Cook, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Hansford Cemetery in Spearman under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Survivors include his parents, Donald and Wanda Smith of Panhandle; one brother, David Smith of Amarillo and one sister, Kathryn Edwards of Chicago, Ill.

Dr. Hugh Sanders
Dr. Hugh Sanders, distinguished choral music director and retired Director of the Church Music Institute at Baylor University, passed away on August 31, 2001 at the age of 66. He is survived by his wife Rinky of Waco, son Stan and his wife Deanna of Dallas, daughter Stacie Hendrickson and her husband Carey of Arlington, sister Rudell Bilderback of Indiana, and four grandchildren, Holly and Hunter Hendrickson and Caleb Hugh and Jared Sanders. A memorial service in celebration of his life and his love of God will be held at Seventh and James Baptist Church in Waco on Tuesday, September 4 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco at 6101 Bosque Blvd.

Evelyn Young Gilliland
Evelyn Young Gilliland, 72, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, in her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Sanford with Rev. Ricky Griffin, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Amarillo. Survivors include her husband, George Gilliland of Borger; one sister, Norma Livingston of Lawrenceville, Ga.; three daughters, Karen Gilliland of San Bernardino, Calif., Sandy Gilliland of Borger and Gayle Passons of Chandler, Ariz.; one son, Gerald "Jerry" Gilliland of Austin; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Bernice Isabell Conner
Bernice Isabell Conner, 87, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, in Borger. Services were at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ at Borger with Mr. Lloyd Overby of Dill City, Okla., officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Kemp Cemetery in Kemp, Okla., under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include her daughter, Billye Taylor of Borger and a sister, Merle Howard of Borger.
