Mildred Schroll
Mrs. Mildred Schroll, 97, of 1000 West Sloan St., Harrisburg, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 1997 in Harrisburg Medical Center.
On Nov. 8, 1917, she married Freeman Earl Schroll. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1960.
Mrs. Schroll was born on Sept. 7, 1899, in Herod to the late Joseph Sherman and Alice Reynolds Lambert.
She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Harrisburg.
Surviving are two daughters, Lela Guest of Duncanville, Texas and Phyllis and husband, Wayne Conrad of Belleville; a son-in-law, Frank Roberts of Harrisburg; a sister-in-law, Effie Vinyard of Paris; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Geneva Schroll and Carolyn Roberts; a son, Bert Schroll; and two grandsons.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg, where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Elder Gordon Lambert will officiate, assisted by Priest Ed Kuppart. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery at Eldorado.

William Paul Ledbetter
William Paul Ledbetter, 52, of Huntington Beach, Calif., died Saturday evening, as a result of a plane crash.
He was born in Hardin County on Dec. 25, 1944, to the late Howard and Viola Brown Ledbetter.
He was employed by General Tel in California and a 1963 graduate of Cave-in-Rock High School.
Surviving are his wife, Jan Ledbetter; and children, Rebekah, Mark, Rachel and John; a sister and brother-in-law, Gertie and Jack Quertermous of Herod; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Patty Ledbetter of Harrisburg and Bob and Norma Ledbetter of Louisville, Ky. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Laverne Patterson; and a brother in infancy.
Funeral and burial will be in California at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Charles Ray Seals
Charles Ray Seals, 57, of Dallas, Texas, died at his home Saturday, June 28, 1997.
He was born in Lee County, Va., on Jan. 23, 1940, to the late Mitchell Seals and Thelma Bryant Seals, who survives.
Mr. Seals was a heavy equipment operator.
He was a member of the Duncanville Baptist Church in Duncanville, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Seals and they were married on March 31, 1992. Also surviving are a son, Charles Ray Seals Jr., of Dallas; two daughters, Janie Marie Seals of Harrisburg and Rosemary Seals of Eldorado; his mother, Thelma Seals of Ben Hur, Va.; three brothers, James Seals of Albuquerque, N.M., Paul Seals of Bernalillo, N.M. and Jimmy Seals of Boulder City, Nev.; two sisters, Shirley Bement of Elko, Nev. and Sue Price of Cumberland, Va.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will precede burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at Lindale Cemetery at Eldorado. The Rev. George Malis will officiate.
Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado.

Victor Kasiar
Victor Kasiar, 86, of 2142 Grand Ave., Eldorado, died Wednesday, July 9, 1997 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1910, in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Kasmir and Julia Kasiar.
He was a Glazier and had worked for Venetian Mirror, Stearns & Saddler Glass Co. and Beck's Drug Store. He was an Army veteran and a member of Masonic Lodge 730 and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Kasiar was a member of Eldorado Christian Church and had served as a deacon for 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Gladson, and they were married on Aug. 6, 1938, in Kentucky. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and John Frost; and a son and daughter-in-law, Vince and Tisha Kasiar, all of Eldorado; seven grandchildren and spouses, Victor and Ann Frost of Harrisburg, Kim and Bill Frost of Bluford, Rita and Eric Campbell of Antioch, Tenn., Diane and Berry McDermott of Harrisburg, Jason and Jennifer Kasiar of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Matt Kasiar of Eldorado; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Rick Connelly and Herb Buche will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery at Eldorado.
For those who desire, contributions can be made to Christian Church building fund or the American Cancer Society.

Gladys Adamson
Mrs. Gladys Adamson, 77, of 1101 South Ledford St., Harrisburg, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 1997 in Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
She was born on Sept. 22, 1919, in Swanwick, to the late Earl and Edna Macke Kimmel. She was raised in the home of Will and Mollie Mullinix.
She was a bookkeeper for Consumers Power Co. in Pontiac, Mich.
Mrs. Adamson was a member of the Harrisburg First Baptist Church.
Preceeding her in death were two husbands, Lowell Fulkerson and Tom Adamson; and a sister, Lola Murray.
Surviving is a sister, Blanche Reynolds of Harrisburg.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg, where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Mike Davis will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery.

Edna Pearl Conger
Mrs. Edna Pearl Conger, 70, of Metropolis, formerly of Rosiclare, died Wednesday, July 9, 1997 in Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare.

Amy Burns
Services for Mrs. Amy Burns, 93, former Harrisburg resident, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Gary Hays will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery at Harrisburg.
Mrs. Burns died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at 8:23 a.m. at City Care Center at Eldorado.

Robert E. Griggs
Services for Robert E. Griggs, 68, of Danville, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, 1997, at the Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion in Danville, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. David Garver will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Thompsonville.
Memorials may be made to the Robert E. Griggs Memorial Scholarship Fund, Foundation, 2000 East Main, Danville, IL 61832 or the Baptist Church, 3838 North Vermilion, Danville, IL 61832.
Mr. Griggs, former Galatia resident, died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at 8 a.m. at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Robert D. Swaggirt
Robert D. Swaggirt, 39, of 1900 Main St., Eldorado, was dead on arrival Friday, Aug. 8, 1997, 2:30 p.m. at Harrisburg Medical Center.
He was born in Peoria, on Dec. 29, 1957 to Charles and Mary Cullum Swaggirt.
He was a maintenance laborer.
Surviving are his mother, Mary Hutchinson, Harrisburg; his former wife, Zelda Jones of Equality; a daughter, Amanda Swaggirt; and a son, Wesley Swaggirt, both of Eldorado; two brothers, Steve Swaggirt and Rodger Swaggirt, both of Harrisburg; and a granddaughter, Ashley Crist of Eldorado.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Equality.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family and may be left at the funeral home.

David E. Scroggins
David E. Scroggins, 74 of Edward St., Ridgway, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997, at 9:06 a.m. in Ferrell Hospital at Eldorado.
He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Ridgway American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he was a Past Commander, 32nd Degree Mason in Ridgway and a Past Master.
Mr. Scroggins was born in Harco, on Feb. 10, 1923 to the late William E. and Isabelle (Sloan) Scroggins.
Surviving are three daughters, Marsha Ladley-Sullivan of Wetumpkas, Ala., Lori Downey of Equality, and Amy Bratcher of Ridgway; a son, Dave Scroggins, Omaha; two brothers, Don Scroggins of Palm City, Fla. and Jim Scroggins of Florida; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a companion, Glenda Crider of Ridgway.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, his parents, and two brothers.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Ridgway, where he was a member. The Rev. Julia Hazzard will officiate. Burial will be in the Jackson Cemetery at Ridgway with military rites.

Lisa Lynn Vinyard Briggs
Mrs. Lisa Lynn Vinyard Briggs, 35, of 15 Fairfax Drive, Harrisburg, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997, at 8 a.m. in St. Mary Medical Center in Evansville, Ind.
She was born on May 14, 1962, in Harrisburg to Floyd "Dadie" Vinyard and Judy Nolen Vinyard.
She was a Protestant by faith and Who's Who in Business, Carbondale Chamber of Commerce, and Harrisburg Booster Club.
She was a nursing home administrator.
Survivors include her mother, Judy Vinyard; her father, Floyd "Dadie" Vinyard of Harrisburg; Ben Briggs of Harrisburg; a daughter, Casey Sowels of Harrisburg; a brother, Steve and wife, Trena Vinyard of Harrisburg; two sisters, Julie and husband, Larry Piche of Springfield, and Amy Kurtek of Marion; her grandmother, Charlotte Nolen of Harrisburg; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Vinyard on April 22, 1997.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Reed Funeral Home in Harrisburg, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Harold Williams will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery.

Robert "Jr." Vaught
Robert "Jr." Vaught, 72, of Ridgway, died at the home of his daughter, Sandy Brown, in Mount Vernon, Ind.
He was born on July 24, 1924, in Leamington to the late Raymond and Junie (Ginger) Vaught.
Mr. Vaught was a World War II veteran and a member of the Church of God.
Surviving are his wife, the former Wilma Hendrix of Ridgway; a daughter, Sandy Brown of Mount Vernon, Ind.; a son, Jim and wife, Eva Vaught of Evansville, Ind.; three sisters, Geraldine O'Neal of Ridgway, Inez Cowsert and Merle Potts, both of Eldorado; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Bob Vaught.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Wayne Nicholas will officiate and burial will be in Jackson Cemetery at Ridgway.

Zula Marie Lyons
Zula Marie Lyons, 76, of 918 Third St., Eldorado, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997 at 7:35 a.m. in Eldorado Care Center, following a long illness.
She was born on Oct. 31, 1920, in Lewisburg, Ky., to the late Hershel and Bessie (Drake) Lyons. She had been a resident of Eldorado since 1954.
Miss Lyons had worked at Ferrell Hospital and at Magnolia Nursing Home, both in Eldorado, retiring in 1987.
She was a longtime member of Eldorado Gospel Assembly Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Mae Barber of Pico Rivera, Calif., and Ruth McPhail of Dayton, Ohio; four brothers, Herman T. and wife Viola Lyons, Morris T. and Delphine Lyons and William E. and Katherine Lyons, all of Dayton, Clarence J. Lyons of Montebello, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, W.F. Eleman.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Dewayne Jolly will officiate. Graveside services will precede burial at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Russellville Memorial Gardens in Russellville, Ky.
