Frankie (Hedger) Zetts
Mrs. Frankie (Hedger) Zetts, 66, of Portsmouth, Va., formerly of Eldorado, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 1997, at the home of a daughter, Laura Backues in Portsmouth.
She was born on Jan. 18, 1931, in Eldorado to the late Avery and Lottie Hedger.
Surviving are two daughters, Laura Backues and Cathy; two sons, David Zetts and Keith Zetts, both of Virginia; a dear friend, George; two sisters, Lodema Lynn of Eldorado and Jessie Fleischer of Chicago; two brothers, J.C. Hedger of Godfrey and William Hedger and her twin brother, Frank Hedger, both of Wood River; seven grandchildren; and three step grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Hedger and David Richard Hedger.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Portsmouth. The Snellings Funeral Home of 5815 High Street West of Portsmouth in charge.

Felsia Cook
Mrs. Felsia Cook, 96, widow of Virgil S. Cook, died Monday, Sept. 1, 1997, at 7:30 p.m. in Hamilton Memorial Nursing Home in McLeansboro.
On Dec. 18, 1922, she and Mr. Cook were married and he preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1980.
Her parents were the late George A. and Julia (Oglesby) Miller and she was born on May 26, 1901 in Hamilton County.
She was a member of McLeansboro First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy M. Cox of McLeansboro; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, George Cook; a son-in-law, Willie Cox; three brothers; one daughter, and a daughter-in-law.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Gholson Funeral Home, McLeansboro, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Gary Davenport will officiate and burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, McLeansboro.

Tidwell R. Voss
Tidwell R. Voss, 80, of McLeansboro, died Monday, Sept. 1, 1997, in Hamilton Memorial Hospital, McLeansboro.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1917, in South Pittsburg, Pa., to the late Mead and Susie Tidwell Voss.
He was a retired self-employed taxi service business in McLeansboro for many years and was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Voss was of the Christian Science Faith.
He was married to the former Veronica Hassett and she preceded him in death. A daughter and his parents also preceded him in death.
Surviving is a sister, Grace Eubank of Decatur, Ala.
Graveside services will precede burial Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Clements Cemetery in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating.
There will be no visitation at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Dennis J. Peters
Dennis J. Peters, 57, of Chicago, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 1997, in Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, the former Doris Ledbetter of Harrisburg., a son, Michael; a daughter, Lori; a sister, Joan; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Tillie Peters and a brother, Joe Peters Jr.
Services will be held Friday at noon at the Gibbons Funeral Home in Chicago, where friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Frank Douglas
Frank Douglas, 84, formerly of 2009 Saline Ave. in Eldorado died at 11:05 a.m. Nov. 10, 1997, at the Eldorado Care Center.
He was a farmer born in Omaha, Ill., on Dec. 10, 1912, to James F. and Mary Lou (Shaw) Douglas. He married Helen P. Cox on Dec. 2, 1933, in Norris City. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Arnold Douglas and his wife Wilma Dell of Eldorado; two sisters, Ethel Davis of Eldorado, Delena Greer of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren, Russell Douglas and his wife Karen and William Paul Douglas all of Eldorado; and three great-grandchildren, Heather Leigh Douglas, Zachary Ray Douglas and Krystal June Douglas, all of Eldorado.
Mr. Douglas was preceded in death by three brothers, Dallas C. Douglas, John W. Douglas and an infant boy; and five sisters, Bertha C. McKenzie, Carrie Johnson, Maggie Bruce, Lura Marie Douglas and Lilly Howard.
He was a farmer by occupation.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Revs. Larry Pugh and Arthur Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Hazel Ridge Cemetery in Omaha.

Maxine Smith
Maxine Smith, 76, of 6100 Mount Moriah Road near Harrisburg died Wednesday morning, Nov. 12, 1997, at her home.
Visitation will start at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. Funeral Services are set at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Gary Hayes will officiate.
Burial will be at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado.

Alberta Wright
Alberta Wright, 84, of Shawneetown, died Wednesday at 4:22 a.m. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
Visitation is set for Thursday, Nov. 13, from 4-8 p.m. at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. The funeral will be Friday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Shawneetown.
Rev. Julia Hazzard will officiate.
Burial will be at Westwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Shawneetown.

Tina Lynn Pabst
Tina Lynn Pabst, 41, of Du Quoin, died at 3:47 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997, at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the MPT Church of God Christian Academy and will be accepted at the funeral home. Minnie Stubbs
Minnie Stubbs, 88, a resident of Shawneetown, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 4:30 a.m. at Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado.
Visitation is set for Thursday, Nov. 13, from 4-8 p.m. and the funeral will be Friday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.
Pastor Jack Hall will officiate.
Burial will be at Westwood Cemetery.

Amanda Bean
Amanda Bean, 89, of 1100 Moore Street in Eldorado, died at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 12, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
Mrs. Bean was born to Andrew and Tracy (White) Cox on Dec. 24, 1907, in Ridgway. She married James Walter Bean who preceded her in death in 1976.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Loren, Paul and Richard Bean, all of Eldorado; and four daughters, Ruby McDaniel, Dorothy Dallas, Margaret Ashby and Dotty Stevens. The first three daughters live in Eldorado. Stevens lives in Raleigh. Thirty-three grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Don and Bob Bean, and one daughter, Opal Jewell.
No visitation is set. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway. The Rev. Betty Tucker will officiate.
Watson Funeral Home of Eldorado will handle the arrangements.

Rev. Clinton Benson
The Rev. Clinton Benson, of Russelville, Kentucky, died in Phoenix, Arizona on November 11 at 5 p.m.
He married the former Mary Thomas, of Phoenix, in 1944. He was the son of Linda and Otto Benson of R.R. 2 Eldorado. He and his wife had two sons, Jerome and Johnny Benson, who survive along with his wife Mary. He had two grandsons, Jerry Lee Benson and Joel Benson, and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and also his father-in-law. Surviving are three brothers, Charles Benson of Kingston, Jamaica; Owen Benson of Norris City; and Lloyd Benson of Evansville, Indiana. One sister, Wanda Orr of Eldorado, also survives.
Funeral services will be held in Russelville, Kentucky on Sunday, November 16 at 2 p.m. There will be a graveside service Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Oddfellows Cemetery in McLeansboro, Illinois.

Corean Pettyjohn
Corean Pettyjohn, 61, of New Haven, Illinois, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, at 2:50 p.m. at her home.
She was born March 22, 1936 in New Haven to the late Mckinley Ledbetter and Malinda Ledbetter, who survives. She was a housekeeper at Carmi Hospital.
Surviving are husband Carl Pettyjohn and daughter Patricia Browning of New Haven, son Richard Pettyjohn of Emma, Ill., sister Judy Sturgill of Carmi, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cox & Son Funeral Home's New Haven Chapel. The funeral will be at funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Tommy Flewellen officiating.
Interment will be at the Union Ridge Cemetery in Norris City.

Hershel Harrison
Hershel Harrison, 65, formerly of Herod, recently of Resident City Care Center in Eldorado, died Nov. 12, 1997 at 11:50 a.m. at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Surviving are sons Joe Harrison of Herod; Paul Wayne Gibson of Columbus, Mont.; and William "Bill" Harrison, Elma, Wash.; daughters Reishel Divon, Rosiclare, and Dianne Soloman, Old Hickory, Tenn.; one brother, Tommy Harrison, Karbers Ridge, Ill., and one sister, Laura "Toots" Ewing, Alton, Ill. He had 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his mother Verba (Bebout) Harrison, father Edward Harrison, and brother Howard Harrison.
Visitation for the public will be held Friday, Nov. 14, after 6 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare. Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home.
Burial will be at the Partain Cemetery in Herod.

Alice LaVerne Simmons
Alice LaVerne Simmons, 59, of Mayview, Mo., who lived in this area for six years, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Mo. She was born on Friday, Dec. 3, 1937 in Uniontown, Ky. She was a member of the Odessa Restoration Branch Church in Odessa, Mo.
She is survived her husband, Dennis L. Simmons, of Mayview, Mo.; by two daughters, Mona Oglesby of Lexington, Mo. and Cora Bradley of Carrier Mills; four brothers, Omer Stone of Harrisburg, Wayne Douglas Stone of Cookville, Tenn., Miletus Stone of Wash., and John Stone of Harrisburg; and one sister, Betty Stone of Harrisburg. She had five grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father, Hubert Stone, and her mother, Eva Marie (Penrod) Stone.
Visitation will be held at the Walker-Nadler Funeral Home in Lexington, Mo., on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Services will be held at the Odessa Restoration Branch Church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16 with Elder Lee Clark officiating.
Burial will be at the Odessa City Cemetery in Odessa, Mo.
