Arletta Mae Paulus
MILLERSBURG - Arletta Mae Paulus, 90, formerly of Carsonville, died July 3 at the Manor at Susquehanna Village.
Born July 23, 1915 in Carsonville, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Annie Schoffstall Zimmerman.
She was the owner and operator of the Paulus Grocery Store in Carsonville.
She was the widow of Truman Paulus. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Zimmerman and a grandson.
Surviving are two sons, Blaine Paulus of Williamstown and Eugene Paulus of Halifax; a daughter, Loretta Johnston of State College; three brothers, Clair Zimmerman and Dale Zimmerman, both of Carsonville and Glenn Zim-merman of Halifax; three sisters, Merle English of Tremont, Verna Perry of Lebanon and Dorothy Zimmer-man of Etters; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 7 at Hoover Funeral Homes in Millersburg. Burial was at the convenience of the family.

Ernest W. "Ernie" Shoop
HALIFAX - Ernest Wayne "Ernie" Shoop, 57, of 1027 Matamoras Road, died July 2 at Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg.
Born April 25, 1949 in Halifax, he was the son of Ethel L. Paul Shoop of Halifax and the late Charles E. Shoop.
He was a self-employed dairy farmer.
He was a member of Jacob's United Methodist Church in Halifax.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Shoop.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife of 22 years, Kati Satorius Shoop; a son, Coye E. Shoop of Halifax; four daughters, Chantel A. Hassinger of Halifax, Cristy S. Lucia of New Cumberland, and Lindsey E. Shoop and Jaimie A. Shoop, both of Halifax; two brothers, Edwin Shoop and Rick Shoop, both of Halifax; and two grandchildren.
Services were held July 8 at Jacob's United Methodist Church. Burial was at Jacob's United Methodist Cemetery in Halifax.

Guy F. Bucher
DALMATIA - Guy F. Bucher, 99, died July 3 in Camillus, N.Y., while visiting his daughter.
Born Oct. 12, 1906 in Washington Twp., he was the son of the late Charles and Molly Harris Bucher.
He worked for the PA Railroad in Elmira, N.Y. and served as bank director at the former Farmer's State Bank of Dalmatia.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Dalmatia, Herndon Lodge No. 702 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple, Dalmatia Kiwanis Club and the Upper Dauphin Shrine Club.
He was the widower of Steena Deppen.
Surviving are his daughter, Doris Sandore of Camillus, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 7 at Trinity UCC in Dalmatia. Burial was at the church cemetery.

Carline J. Faber
HALIFAX - Carline J. Faber, 71, formerly of Millersburg, died July 3 at home.
Born Oct. 15, 1934 in Red Cross, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Herb and Ida Rebuck.
She was a self-employed cosmetologist and beautician.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millersburg, Millersburg VFW Post No. 5507 Home Association, Women of the Moose Chapter 1083 of Millersburg, The Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion of Millersburg and the Lower Mahanoy Fire Department.
She was the widow of Gilbert R. Faber.
Surviving are a son, Ricky Herb of Halifax; six sisters, Alice Wertz, Minerva Starr, Laura Knorr, Hilda Klinger, Mary Bordner and June Shade; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Millersburg Moose No. 59, 345 Market St., Millersburg 17061.
Auer Memorial Home and Cremation Services was in charge of arrangements.

Martha B. Schaeffer
MUIR - Martha B. Schaeffer, 95, of 205 W. Wiconisco St., died July 5 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born August 16, 1910 in Muir, she was the daughter of the late Garvin and Mary Romberger Bixler.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Reinerton.
She was the widow of Charles Schaeffer. She also was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Surviving are a daughter, Janice Schaeffer; a sister, Dora Wertz of Muir and a brother, Walter Bixler of Palmyra.
Services were held July 8 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Muir.

Lulu M. Reiner
KLINGERSTOWN - Lulu M. Reiner, 87, died July 4 at the Kramm Healthcare Center in Milton.
Born Dec. 15, 1918 in Leck Kill, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Nealla Paul Schreffler.
She was educated in Upper Mahanoy Twp. schools.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Leck Kill and attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Potts Grove. She also was a member of AARP.
She was the widow of Lee D. Reiner. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Schreffler.
Surviving are three sons, Charles Reiner and Elwood "Doc" Reiner, both of Milton and James Reiner of Klingerstown RR; a daughter, Jane Troutman of Lewisburg; a sister, Mildred Schreffler of Pitman; a brother, Harlen Schreffler; 13 grand-children; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Services were held July 8 at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home. Burial was at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Leck Kill.

Marguerite I. Rowe
MILLERSBURG - Marguerite I. Rowe, 78, of the Manor at Susquehanna Village, formerly of Loyalton, died July 5 at Harrisburg Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late George and Eva Bonawitz Snyder.
The was a graduate of Kendal Beauty School.
She was the owner and operator of the former Marguerite Rowe's Beauty Shop.
She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of Arthur S. Rowe. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Snyder.
Surviving are two sons, Dennis Rowe of Loyalton and Bradley Rowe of Tower City; a sister, Fern Weaver of Carlisle; and three grandchildren.
Services were held July 8 at the John R. Shultz Funeral Home. Burial was at Maple Grove Cemetery in Elizabethville.

Margaret Jones
GRAY, Ga. - Margaret Jones, 79, died May 31 at Lynn Haven Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 3, 1927 in Williamstown, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Susan Mezzy Barkus.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warner Robins, Ga.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Robert E. Jones, Sr.; three sons, Robert E. Jones, Jr. of Grayson, Ga., Terry Jones of Bonaire, Ga. and Craig Jones of Gray, Ga.; a daughter, Donna Glenn of Enterprise, Ala.; two sisters, Betty Eisenhower of Minersville and Irene Deichert of Tower City; three brothers, Andrew Barkus of Williams-town, Joseph Barkas of Harrisburg and Mike Barkus of Highspire; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Merle I. Etzweiler Luke
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Merle I. Etzweiler Luke, 81, formerly of Halifax, died July 1 at West Palm Beach, Fla.
She was the widow of Lowen Luke.
Surviving are five daughters, Cherry Chasen of Michigan, Anna McDonald of Florida and Jennette Sala, Janice Young and Pauline Griff, all of Georgia; two brothers, Roy Etzweiler Jr. of Georgia and John M. Etzweiler of Carsonville; a sister, Betty Etzweiler of Carsonville; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Palm Springs Baptist Church. Burial was at Lake Worth Memory Gardens Cemetery in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Harry "Buss" H. Hepler, Jr.
MILLERSBURG - Harry "Buss" H. Hepler, Jr., 79, died July 5 at Harrisburg Hospital.
Born June 18, 1927 in Gratz, he was the son of the late Harry H. and Laura Minnich Hepler.
He served with the U.S. Army.
He worked as a machinist at the former TRW in Harris-burg.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a lifetime member of the Gratz Fire Company.
He was preceded in death by a sister, B. Lorraine Harner.
Surviving are three daughters, Karen Rothermel of Millersburg, Lou Ann Hepler of Hummelstown and Amy Beck of Crofton, Md.; two sons, Michael H. Hepler of Boiling Springs and Casey Hepler of Carlisle; a sister, Beverly Snyder of Herndon; three brothers, Glenn Hepler of Gratz, Jack Hepler of Gratz and Kenneth Hepler of Valley View; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 10 at James A. Reed Funeral Home. Burial was at Gratz Union Cemetery.

Harold J. Budd, Jr.
WILLIAMSTOWN - Memorial services for Harold J. Budd, 62, of Williamstown, who died June 3, will be held Saturday, July 15 at 11 a.m. at the Williamstown United Methodist Church.
Dimon Funeral Homes in Williamstown is in charge of arrangements.

David Ellis Wenrich, Sr.
HEGINS - David Ellis Wenrich, Sr., 53, of 230 E. Main St., died July 6 as a result of an auto accident in Mt. Carmel Twp., Northumberland County.
Born Oct. 23, 1952 in Lykens, he was the son of Whalen E. and Anna M. Kissinger Wenrich of Spring Glen.
He was a 1970 graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School and a 1973 graduate of Williamsport Area Community College.
He was employed as a maintenance mechanic at the Mt. Carmel CoGen Plant.
He was a member of the Weishample Church of God, the Erdman Sportmans Association, a social member of the Valley View Fire Co., American Legion Post 575 and the VFW Post 8237, both of Valley View.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife of 35 years, Roxanne M. Becker Wenrich; a son, David E. Jr. of Tower City; two daughters, Dawn R. Wenrich of Sacramento and Amanda Wenrich of Philadelphia; four brothers, Randy E. Wenrich of Spring Glen, Richard L. Wenrich of Sacramento, Whalen E. Wenrich, Jr. of Urban and Lynn L. Wenrich of Valley View; two sisters, Lori A. Belack and Tammy S. Wenrich, both of Gratz; and three grandchildren.
Services were held July 11 at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home.

Betty H. Donley
HALIFAX - Betty H. Donley, 78, of 89 Scholl Road, died July 7 at her daughter's residence in Halifax.
Born April 3, 1928 in Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Milo K. and Sylvia M. Sheaffer Valentine.
She was a retired baker at the former Kocher's IGA Store in Millersburg. She also worked at the Ben Franklin Store, former Ice Cream Corner and Tobias' 5 and 10 Store, all in Millersburg.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Millers-burg.
She was the widow of Robert L. Donley. She also was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Jo Ann Imschweiler.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda A. Davis of Millersburg and Kathy L. Schadel of Halifax; a sister, Dona Fosselman of Landisburg, six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 12 at 11 a.m. at Hoover Funeral Homes in Millersburg. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax.

Joseph M. Wehry
ASHLAND - Joseph M. Wehry, 79, of 115 Maplewood Road, died July 7 at his home.
Born Oct. 11, 1926 in Pitman, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Lizzie Erdman Wehry.
He was educated in the Pitman are schools.
He was a retired coal miner and farmer and was employed as a janitor at the former Barry Elementary School.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a former member of the Hegins Trap Club.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Watts and a brother, Daniel Wehry.
Surviving are his wife, Ada F. Lesher Wehry; two sons, Carl Wehry and Paul Wehry, both of Ashland; a sister, Velma Motter of Pine Grove; a brother, Kenneth Wehry of Locustdale; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 11 at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home. Burial was at Zion E.C. Cemetery in Pitman.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Diabetes Association.
