Joseph A. Montalvo Jr., 45, of 487 South Plum Street Mount Joy, Pa, died unexpectedly at his residence of natural causes on Thursday, December, 11, 2003.
Born in Columbia, Pa, he was married 24 years to Julia D. Hernandez Montalvo. He was a plant supervisor at Wilbur Chocolate Company Mount Joy Division. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was of catholic faith. He was a life member, former commander and volunteer of Mount Joy VFW Post 5752, a member of the Germania Band Club, Manheim, Pa, and social member of the American Legion of Mount Joy Post 185.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son: Joseph A. Montalvo III of Bausman, Pa.
Funeral Services for Joseph A. Montalvo Jr. will be held on Monday, December 15, 2003 at 2:00 pm at the Heilig Funeral Home 21 West Main Street Mount Joy, Pa. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a public viewing on Monday at the Heilig Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until the time of service.

Blanche B. Kopf
December 13, 2003
Blanche B. Kopf, 99, of 4530 Marietta Ave. Columbia, PA., died Saturday morning, December 13, 2003 of natural causes at Conestoga View 900 East King Street, Lancaster where she resided since July 29th of this year.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Ira K. and Lula Bleacher Denlinger. Blanche was last employed as a nurse’s aid for St. Ann’s Retirement Community, Columbia, previously she worked for Slaymaker Lock Company in Lancaster. Her husband Joseph Kopf died in September 6, 1983. Her interests included crocheting and cooking.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Kreider Hoover of East Petersburg, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren, one brother, Robert Denlinger of Lancaster and a sister, Verna Wiker of Lancaster. Blanche was preceded in death by three sons, John Edwin, Harold Lester, and Jacob Earl Kreider, two brothers, Lester and Paul Denlinger, and two sisters, Ruth Finerfrock and Barbara Cooper.
Funeral services from the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim, PA., on Friday, December 19, 2003 at 10:30 AM with the Reverend John M. Smaligo officiating, interment in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, PA. There will be a public viewing from the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.

Raymond Stauffer, 88, of 51 Lincoln West Drive, Mountville, Pa died unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday, December 14, 2003 at his residence.
Born in Lancaster County, he was married to the late Mary Graham Ritter Stauffer, she died in 1992. Retiring in 1979, he worked for 35 years as a laborer for the former Grinnell Industries, Columbia, Pa. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim, Pa.
Surviving is a stepdaughter: Hester married to J. Reid Humer of Florida; 8 step grandchildren; 18 step great grandchildren
Funeral services for Raymond Stauffer will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 2:00pm at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim, Pa. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township, Pa. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.

Charles C. Thompson Sr

Charles “CC” Thompson Sr., 82, of 21 Amberly Way Lititz, Pa, formerly of Manheim, Pa, died on Saturday, December 27, 2003 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born in Leaksville, N.C., he was the son of the late George Clinton and Lola Grubb Thompson. He was married 61 years to Betty Louise Hollinger Thompson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air force during WW II. Retiring in 1993, he worked for 20 years as a weaver for the former Raymark Industries, Manheim, Pa. Charles also worked for Alsam Shoe Company Lititz, Pa for 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the Manheim VFW Post # 5956. Charles was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Charles “Chuck” Jr. married to Darlene Graybill Thompson of Lititz, Pa, David B. Thompson of Manheim, Pa; three daughters: Diane married to Rodney Lutz of Lititz, Pa, Linda Thompson of Columbia, Pa and Betsy married to Ralph Ditzler of Manheim, Pa; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Kenneth and Wallace Thompson; a sister Eva Gibble.
Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Please omit flowers.

Anna B. Oberholtzer
December 28, 2003
Anna B. Oberholtzer, 89, of Mennonite Home, Lancaster, Pa, formerly of 441 Fruitville Pike Manheim, Pa, died of natural causes on Sunday, December 28, 2003 at her residence. She had been a resident of the Mennonite Home since 1990.
Born in Penn Township, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Nathan R. and Martha Bucher Oberholtzer. Retiring in 1990, she was a licensed practical nurse and worked as a private duty nurse in the Lancaster County area. She was a graduate of the Hoyt School of Nursing and the Lancaster Practical Nursing School. She was a member of the Manheim Mennonite Church, the Mennonite Nurses and Medical Association and a life member of the Practical Nurses Association of Pennsylvania. She was a Hospice nurse and volunteered at the Red Cross, Community Homes and Churches.
Last of her immediate family, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Kauffman Mennonite Cemetery, Penn Township. Please omit flowers.

Ralph L. Haldeman

Ralph L. Haldeman, 67, of ManorCare 100 Abbeyville Road Lancaster, Pa formerly of Manheim, Pa died of natural causes on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at his residence following a brief illness. He was a resident of ManorCare since December 12, 2003.
Born in Penn Township, Pa, he was the son of the late Harold G. and Kathryn Sheaffer Haldeman. His wife Velva E. Burkholder Haldeman died in 2002. Retiring in 1995, he was a supervisor/estimator of paving for B. R. Kreider & Sons, Manheim, Pa. He was a lifetime member of Covenant United Methodist Church, Lancaster, Pa. An avid camper, Nascar Fan, Manheim Baron Fan, he also enjoyed traveling to Florida.
Surviving are three daughters: Dawn Marie married to Alex Acevedo of Manheim, Pa, Cindy L. married to Donald E. Edwards of East Earl, Pa, Sherri married to Dan Troupe of Lititz, Pa; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; two brothers: Harold Jr. married to Shirley Haldeman of Manheim, Pa, John Haldeman of Ephrata, Pa; three sisters: Helen Fisher of Akron, Pa, Mary Haldeman and Arlene Thompson both of Lititz, Pa. He was preceded in death by a sister: Beatrice Leid
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at 2:30pm at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Sq. Manheim, Pa. Interment in Kauffman Mennonite Cemetery, Penn Twp., Pa. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00pm until the time of service. Please omit flowers.

James H. Haldeman

James H. Haldeman, 63, of 1466 Jerry Lane Manheim died unexpectedly of natural causes and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 28, 2006 at the Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Hershey, he was the son of Daniel Haldeman husband of Catherine Ahner Haldeman of Manheim and his mother the late Ruth Hosler Haldeman. James was a self- employed master carpenter working on building projects in the Lancaster County area; recently he was involved in forming the Haldeman Family Enterprises LLC of Manheim. Earlier in his life he worked as a parole officer for Lancaster County, and was owner and operator of Haldeman Mills, Manheim, a family business for over thirty years. He was the husband of Mary E. Bucher Haldeman ; his first wife Donna M. Gochenour Haldeman died in February of 2003. Jim was part of the leadership of New Beginnings Fellowship in Brickerville part of a church plant from Chiques Church Of The Brethren where he served in the ministry for over forty years. He was a graduate of McPherson College Kansas, and worked in Volunteer Service with inner city youth in Washington D.C. area, and helped to revitalize agricultural areas in Laos. Recently, Jim provided leadership and organized mission trips for work camps with E.Y.N. churches in Nigeria.
Surviving in addition to his wife, father and step- mother are four daughters, Mai Quach wife of Uwe Umbach of Pomona, N.Y., Michelle L. wife of Duane E. Gingrich, Melanie A. wife of Brian Miller, and Pey K. Haldeman all of Manheim, two sons, Thinh husband of Heidi Hutchinson Quach of Chambersburg, J. Kyle husband of Kristen M. Koser Haldeman of Lititz, seventeen grandchildren, a brother, Barry husband of Colleen Haldeman of Manheim, four sisters, Linda wife of John Kopp of Sunbury, Mary wife of Robert Wolgemuth of Manheim, Bonnie wife of Ervin Stutzman of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Sylvia wife of William Gearhart of Halifax.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the memorial service from the Chiques Church Of The Brethren 4045 Sunnyside Road Manheim, PA on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 7:30 PM. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be no viewing. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until the time of the service.

Christian N. Stauffer

Christian N. Stauffer, 78, of 2225 State St. East Petersburg, Pa. died unexpectedly Friday in the Lancaster General Hospital Emergency Room of natural causes.
Born in Lancaster County he was the son of the late Harrison G. & Bertha Eberly Stauffer. His late wife Blanche Ruhl Stauffer died in 2000. Christian worked for Armstrong World Industries for 30 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of Lancaster Brethren In Christ Church and had served as a Sunday school teacher, trustee, and deacon. His hobbies included hunting, gardening, and traveling. He also was a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are 4 sons: Christian N. Jr. husband of Pamela J. Stauffer of Manheim; Reverend James R. husband of Jane Z. Stauffer of Hagerstown, Md. Larry T. Stauffer of York, Pa. William L. Stauffer of East Petersburg, Pa. 8 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren 3 brothers: Melvin Stauffer of Michigan,Clair Stauffer of Florida Wilburt Stauffer of Lititz,Pa. 1 Sister: Verna Stauffer of Elizabethtown, Pa.
He was predeceased by 6 brothers: Kervin, Lloyd, Maurice, Harry, Marvin, and Roy. Also by 2 sisters: Anna Mae Sherman & Florence Frey.
Funeral Services will be held at Lancaster Brethren In Christ Church 1865 Fruitville Pike Lancaster, Pa. on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 11 A.M. with the Reverend James D. Ernst officiating. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park Lancaster, Pa. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 6-9 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10 – 11 A.M.

Robert E. Stauffer

Robert E. “ Gene” Stauffer, 68, of 1049 Lebanon Road Manheim, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, October 6, 2006.
Born in Rapho Township he was the son of the late Christian B. and Lena W. Nissley Stauffer. For seventeen years Gene worked for the former Raymark Industries Manheim. He was a United States Army Veteran. Gene was the husband of Mary B. Stauffer Stauffer and they recently observed forty years of their relationship together. Gene had a passion for attending auctions, public sales, fixing lawn mowers, and the outdoors.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter Josie L. wife of Richard L. Nye of Maytown, two sons, Ronald L. husband of Kathy C. Waybright Stauffer of Quentin, Robert E. Stauffer of Lititz, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a brother, Kenneth L. husband of C. Verdella Zurin Stauffer of Manheim. Gene was preceded in death by a grandson, Derrick Stauffer.

Elizabeth E. “Betty” Stauffer, 75, of 26 Aspen Drive Manheim, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 4, 2006 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born in South Lebanon Township, she was the daughter of the late Ammon B. and Mary F. Eberly Keller. She was married for over fifty-seven years to Edwin S. Stauffer. Betty worked 35 years at the former Mt. Hope Dunkard Brethren Church Home, Manheim. She was a member of Brethren Fellowship, Ephrata. Betty was very devoted to her church and family. Her interests included gardening, cooking and quilting.
Surviving in addition to her husband are five children, Galen L. husband of Donna Stauffer of Bernville, Lucy J. wife of Timothy M. Siegrist of Manheim, Sally A. wife of James Meyers of Iowa, Mary Lou wife of Timothy Kasza of Michigan, Edward L. husband of Linda Stauffer of Lebanon; 35 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one brother, David E. husband of Ruth Keller of Lebanon and one sister, Rhoda E. wife of Rudy Shaffer of Manheim. She is also survived by two daughters-in-law, Joyce Stauffer of Myerstown and Sheila Stauffer of Ohio. She was preceded in death by two sons, Glen L. and Robert K. Stauffer; two brothers, Titus E. and Fred E. Keller and a sister, Dorcas E. Myers

James A. Gilfillan

James A. Gilfillan, 93 of 683 Green Ridge Drive Manheim, died Saturday, August 12, 2006 of natural causes at the Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in New Holland he was the son of the late Robert H. and Margaret Overly Gilfillan. James retired in 1975 working as an Industrial Engineer in manufacturing for the Gillette Company in Boston. He was the husband of Dorothy Eshleman Gilfillan and they observed their 68th wedding anniversary in April of this year. James was a graduate of Franklin and Marshall Academy and a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College with a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter Linda A. wife of Larry Ackerly of Albuquerque New Mexico, a son, James A. Jr. husband of Patti Gilfillan of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, and four grandchildren.

Dorothy Mae Conner

Dorothy Mae Conner, 83, formerly of Lititz, PA and a resident of Pleasant View Retirement Community Manheim; died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at the Ephrata Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Lititz she was the daughter of the late Harry F. and Ada M. Blantz Mohn. A homemaker, she was the wife of the late George W. Conner who died in June of 1983. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul’s United Church Of Christ Manheim. She was a member of the Manheim Historical Society, Stiegel Roses Senior Citizen’s Group, Manheim, a lifetime member of Manheim V.F.W. Post 5956 Auxiliary where she served as a trustee for three years. Her life was devoted to taking care of children in her surrounding community.
Surviving is a son, Jeff L. husband of Bonnie Schreiber Conner of Lititz, a grandson, Robert W. Conner, and a sister, Kathryn wife of Arthur Bachman of Ephrata. She was preceded in death by two step brothers and a step sister.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the memorial service from the Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community 544 North Penryn Road Manheim, on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 2:00 PM with Pastor William H. Cluley officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Kreider’s Brethren Cemetery Penn Township. There will be no viewing. Friends may visit with the family at the Hoffer Auditorium on Monday afternoon from 1:30 PM until the time of the service.
