Martha A. Wilbur, a long time Livingston Manor resident, passed away on Saturday July 29, 2006 at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton. She was 86.
Martha was born in White Sulphur Springs, NY on June 20, 1920 to the late Warren and Mamie Smith Benton. Martha was a loving wife to Frank Wilbur who passed away January 26, 1987.
She was employed at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home as a recreational aide for 10 years. Martha was a lifelong member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by 3 sons Kenneth and wife Sharon of Southampton, NJ, Chaunce of Wawarsing, and Paul and wife Joan of Mongaup Valley, 7 daughters Lettie Esposito and husband Frank of Mamaroneck, Patricia Miller and husband Jordan of Howard Beach, Cheryl E. Rydowski of Passaic, NJ, Bonnie Russo of Montclair, NJ, Elaine Keller and husband George of Newnan, GA Kathleen Carman and husband Mark of Parksville and Tonya Kellogg and husband Michael of Seymour, CT.
She is also survived by 1 brother Medwin (Med) Benton of Cody, WY and 1 sister Mildred Benton of Bosque,NM, 21 grandchildren, several great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Friends may call at Ramsay’s Funeral Homes,Inc. 275 South Main Street Liberty on Wednesday August 2, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 3, 2006 at 10 AM in the Liberty Baptist Church North Main Street Liberty. Rev. Jay Whitham will officiate.
Interment will be next to her husband Frank in Laurel Hill Cemetery White Sulphur Springs.

William Myers, 81, a lifelong resident of Red Hook died Saturday, July 29, 2006 at the Hyde Park Nursing Home in Hyde Park.
Prior to his retirement in 1998, Bill worked as the caretaker at Valeur Mansion in Rhinebeck for many years.
Born August 22, 1924, in Red Hook, he was the son of the late Chester and Elizabeth (Day) Myers.
Bill is survived by a sister: Beatrice Salisbury of Chaumont, NY, two brothers: Donald Myers of Elizaville, and Roland Myers of Red Hook, and several nieces & nephews including Scott Myers of Red Hook.
Funeral services and burial in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Red Hook will be private. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Red Hook Fire Company, PO Box 100, Red Hook, NY 12571.

Magdalene Emily O’Malley

Magdalene Emily O’Malley, 17, passed away suddenly, Friday, July 28, 2006, in Rhinebeck.
Maggie was a senior and High Honor Student at Rhinebeck High School.
Maggie played Varsity Volleyball, Basketball and Softball; she was Co-Captain of the Varsity Softball Team, and was elected to the All MHAL Academic Team and the All MHAL Third Team.
She was a member of the National Honor Society,Environmental/Biology Club, SADD; Softball Club Treasurer and Co-President of the Prom Committee. Maggie recently completed The Dutchess County BOCES Summer Scholars Class at Bard College.
Born January 27, 1989 in Mahopac she is the daughter of Leonard E. White of Claverack and Patricia O’Malley of Rhinebeck.
In addition to her parents Maggie is survived by her step-father Timothy Liefer, a brother Trevor Liefer, her maternal grandmother Gene O’Malley of Schenectady; her grandparents Patsy and Jean Liefer of Stanfordville, NY; Aunts and Uncles; Deborah E. White of Duanesburg, NY; Paul and Joseph O’Malley of Schenectady, Kathy and Bill Stuart of Glennville, NY; Sherry
and Robert Johnson of Wappingers Falls; and Kevin and Margie Liefer of Port Charlotte, FL; and four cousins, Erin and Matt Stuart, Justin Liefer and Gregory Johnson.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother Elizabeth E. White and her maternal grandfather C. Douglas O’Malley. Calling hours are Monday, 3 to 7 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 West Market St., Rhinebeck.
A Celebration of Maggie’s life will be Tuesday, 1 PM, at the Fr. Brogan Parish Center, Mulberry St., Rhinebeck.

Thomas L. Dundon, 51, of Elizaville, NY, died Friday, July 28, 2006 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY.
An Elizaville resident since 1989, he and his wife moved here from Baldwin, NY.
Tom was a roofer with the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers & Allied Workers Local #154 in Long Island.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and a backyard mechanic who loved working on cars. He was also a member of the Twin Lakes Association in Elizaville.
Born November 23, 1954, in Oceanside, NY, he was the son of the late Thomas M. and Jean H. (Unkel) Dundon. On May 15, 1977 in East Meadow, NY he married Laraine Pasint. Mrs. Dundon survives him at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son & his wife: Christopher Thomas & Sara Dundon, and a daughter: Jessica Nicole Dundon, all of Elizaville, a brother: Kevin R. Dundon of Garden City, Mich, a sister-in-law: Carol Dipper, and a brother-in-law: Bob Pasint, both of Elizaville, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and 2 nephews.
A son, Brian Wayne Dundon, pre-deceased him.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM on Monday, July 31st, at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY. The Rev. John Koppenaal of will officiate. Cremation will be at Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston.

Nancy F. Rudolph

Nancy F. Rudolph, 70, of Rhinebeck, NY, and East Falmouth, MA, won her two year battle with melanoma on July 26th and is resting peacefully.
Nancy was born on August 8, 1935, the eldest daughter of the late Vernice and Shelley Peirce of East Falmouth, MA.
She is survived by her three children, Dorothy Anne Driscoll of Darien, CT; John H. Driscoll, Jr., and his wife Nancy F. Driscoll of Glastonbury, CT; and Mary Ellen Schwartz of Gaston, OR; and five grandchildren, Dirk Heideklang, John H. III, Kerry and Bridget Driscoll and Breahanna Schwartz; her two sisters, Priscilla Moor of East Falmouth, MA and Mary Jebsen of Santa Fe, NM; and her loving companion, Peter McGregor of Rhinebeck, NY.
Her son, Paul F. Driscoll and her husband, Alan G. Rudolph of Clinton Corners, NY, predeceased her.
Nancy will be fondly remembered for the pride she felt for her grandchildren and her spirit for life, as well as, her love and generosity towards her many friends.
Nancy was a 1955 graduate of Lasell Junior College; at the time of her death was a member of the Board of Trustees of Lasell College. Nancy's passion was for her prize-winning horses that she showed for the last twenty-five years. For many years Nancy also supported many charitable causes including the Stanfordville Public Library, the Conservation Advisory Council for the Town of Clinton, and the Settlement House on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Her family will celebrate her life at a future date at her home in Rhinebeck, NY; burial will be private in East Falmouth, MA.

Walter Howard “The Mayor” Simmons

Walter Howard “The Mayor” Simmons, 72, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2006, at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie.
Walter was a lifelong resident of Rhinebeck. He served as a Corporal in the US Army from 1954 to 1958 in Korea and Okinawa, Japan. During his lifetime Walter was employed as a driver for Gilnack Trucking, Hyde Park; as a mechanic for the Rhinebeck Garage; for 19 years at Stamp, Inc. and for the Smithers Family; Tiberio’s IGA; Bard College; and until his retirement as head custodian for the Rhinebeck Central School District.
He was a member of the Montgomery American Legion Post #429, Rhinebeck and the Rhinebeck Fire Dept. As a youth he attended the Rhinebeck Reformed Church and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rhinebeck.
Born May 30, 1934, in Rhinebeck, he was the son of Robert and Catherine (Lattin) Simmons, Sr.. Since his birth during the Memorial Day Parade he has been known as “The Mayor”
On December 13, 1958 at the Third Lutheran Evangelical Church, he married Laura L. Cullen.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son James H., and his wife Janet Simmons of Clinton Corners; a daughter Laurie Bathrick of Rhinebeck, a son Douglas H. Simmons of Rhinebeck; a granddaughter Rachel Bathrick, a grandson Mark D. Russell, two brothers Robert H. Simmons Jr. of Rhinebeck and Arnold Simmons of Red Hook, two sisters Kay Simmons and Audrey Simmons of Red Hook; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter Susan Simmons Russell on August 19, 1979; two brothers Roger and Ralph Simmons; and a sister Isabelle Raffaele.
Calling hours are Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck. Members of the Montgomery Post #429 will conduct services at 7:30 PM
Funeral services are Wednesday, 10:30 AM, at the Funeral Home. Rev. Thaddeus Dragula will officiate. Interment will be in the Rhinebeck Cemetery.

Susan L. Barich, 83, a lifelong Red Hook resident, died Friday, July 21st, 2006 at her home in Upper Red Hook, NY.
For over 60 years, Miss Barich was devoted to her work as Comptroller and Business Manager at Bard College, Annandale on Hudson, NY. She retired in June of 2005.
Born on February 2, 1923, in Red Hook, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Suzanne (Belariet) Barich, Sr.
She is survived by her loving family, a sister: Mary Kelly of Red Hook, NY, a brother: Michael Barich, Jr. of Nevis, NY, seven nieces: Miriam Hantout of Sadona, AZ, Belinda Hantout of Boulder, CO, Lisa Hantout of Rhinecliff, NY, Susan Kilgour of Milan, NY, Pam Barich of Rhinecliff, NY, Angie Barich of Indiana, and Rosie Barich of Pleasant Valley, NY, six nephews: Micheal Hantout of Red Hook, NY, Thomas Kelly of Red Hook, NY, John Kelly of Germantown, NY, Kevin Kelly of Red Hook, NY, Thomas Barich of California, and Norman Barich of Florida. Several grandnieces and grandnephews, and a greatgreat niece.
Two sisters: Beatrice Hantout and Esther Rojeski, a brothers:Thomas Barich, Sr. and Henry Barich predecease her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Chapel at Bard College, River Road, Annandale, NY. The Rev. Ginger Grab will officiate. Burial will be at St. Sylvia's Cemetery, Tivoli.

Alice Coddington, a homemaker and longtime area resident, died on Thursday Oct. 19, 2006 at Conway Medical Center, Conway, SC. She was 86.
The daughter of Mike and Katie Sunday Repko, she was born on June 3, 1920 in Passaic, NJ.
Alice was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Liberty, NY.
Survivors include her son William Fendsack and his wife Cynthia of Myrtle Beach, SC; a niece Alice Belovitz of Waymont, PA.; 3 grandchildren, Kelli Curly, Wiliam Fensack II and Brian Fendsack and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Coddington; 4 brothers, Fred, Michael, Edward and John Repko and a sister, Helen Kushinski.

Teresa Gaudette

Teresa Gaudette, 79, passed away Tuesday, October 17th, at the Northern Dutchess Hospital.
Many years ago Mrs. Gaudette worked as a secretary for the Boston and Maine Railroad in Boston, MA; and, after moving to the Hudson Valley, she was a real estate agent for Century 21 in Mt. Kisco, NY for 15 years.
She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, Bangall; and was active in the Stanford Garden Club, and as a Volunteer at the Northern Dutchess Hospital. She enjoyed spending time knitting for her family.
Born January 29, 1927 in Lowell, MA, she was the eldest of the nine children born to Stephen and Gertrude (Beaubien) McKenna
On June 23, 1951 in Lowell, MA, she married Charles H. Gaudette. Mr. Gaudette passed away July 24, 2002.
Mrs. Gaudette is survived by four children Gail M. Lee of Rhinebeck; Charles H. Gaudette, Jr. of Hyde Park; Stephen E. Gaudette of Hopewell Junction and Paul D. Gaudette of Phoenix, AZ; 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several of her brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Thursday, October 19th, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 West Market St., Rhinebeck.
The funeral will begin Friday, 9:00 AM, at the funeral home and proceed to the Immaculate Conception Church, Hunns Lake Rd., Bangall, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at10 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bangall.

Paula Leonard

Paula Leonard, 96, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at the Albany Medical Center.
Mrs. Leonard graduated from Randolph -Macon College, Ashaland, VA, and the University of California where she received a Master’s Degree in fashion. After teaching at Stephens College in Missouri, she opened her fashion design studio in New York City and continued teaching at the Pratt Institute. Many of Mrs. Leonard’s fashion designs were featured on the cover and pages of various fashion magazines, including Vogue.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd and St. Joseph’s Parish and the Women’s
Society. She was also a very interested patron of the Starr Library.
Born March 14, 1910 in Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of Ernest and Anna Voglesang.
Mrs. Leonard was predeceased on February 3, 1993 by her husband John D. Leonard. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard were married January 3, 1974 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, New York.
She is survived by a cousin Anny deWaal and her family of Germany and many devoted friends.
Calling hours are Friday, October 20th, 3 to 5 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 West Market St..
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 10 AM, at the Good Shepherd Church, Rhinebeck. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Augusta, GA.

Robert Eugene Haiber
LaGrangeville, NY
Robert Eugene Haiber passed away suddenly on 13 October 2006, in Manhattan, into eternal peace. Among his eclectic professions were writing, brewing, beer judging, and haberdashery. Born 21 September 1953, in Brooklyn, The City of Churches and Schools, to Florence Wood and William Paul Haiber, who survive in LaGrangeville, NY.
Rob attended primary schools in Brooklyn, Ossining, and Wappingers Falls. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1971 and earned an Associate Degree in Retailing from Dutchess Community College, following which he took a sales position with the Schwarz haberdashery in Poughkeepsie, NY. Several years later he went to San Diego, CA to manage a men’s store.
After this he founded a T-shirt boutique called the “Tease,” in Pacific Beach, CA; which numbered sports figures from the San Diego Chargers football team and the San Diego Padres baseball team among his clientele. In 1988 Rob returned to New York to act as managing director of the Info Devel Press, a writing corporation organized by his father to produce “All Things Written”. Using his expertise in the brewing arts Rob wrote the first history of beer: "A Short but Foamy History of Beer" and contributed various articles to “BEER” magazine and publications relating to beer and its technology. Rob was a member of the “Hudson Valley Brewers” which competed in local and national competitions.
Several years prior to his passing, Rob increased his writing skills by writing three screenplays: “Never Let Go” “The Duchess of York” and “Carmine Saves Christmas Tree (NM)” which he was in the process turning into a film by his company: P2M Productions, in alliance with the New Mexico Film Production Department of that state. Rob served the Town of Union Vale for many years as a member of the Board of Assesors. He is survived by his bride, Lidia, her family in Russia, Rob’s parents, friends, neighbors, theatrical associates, members of the Carlson, Dowling, Froebel, Gorton, Kidder, King, Korkman, Seppanen and Sintonen Families, perpetuating his memory.
Calling hours will be held from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday 18 October at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday 19 October at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Cross Road, LaGrangeville, with Rev. Eumin Kim officiating. Burial will follow at LaGrangeville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dutchess County S.P.C.A., 636 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538.
Finally, the sentiments of the family were reduced to the plain and simple statement by Rob’s wife, Lida that her Rob and ours was and is “the nicest hero.”

Mary Margaret "Mimi" Hollenback

Mary Margaret " Mimi" Hollenback, 72, of Rhinebeck, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2006, at the Northern Dutchess Hospital.
Mrs. Hollenback was a graduate of Mercy College School of Nursing; prior to beginning her family she was employed for several years as a visiting nurse in Scranton.
Born May 12, 1934 in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of John and Harriett (Golden) Dunn.
Mrs. Hollenback is survived by her husband William D. Hollenback, whom she married June 22, 1957 in Scranton, PA.
She is also survived by a daughter Bridget Hollenback of Rhinebeck; a son William Hollenback of Hurley, NY; a brother John "Jack" Dun of Pittsburgh, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
A daughter Mary and a son Michael predeceased her.
Friends will be received, 4 to 7 PM, Tuesday, October 17th, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 West Market St., Rhinebeck.
A private Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the convenience of the family

Janet R. Bolster

Janet R. Bolster, a lifetime Sullivan County resident, passed away on Thursday Oct. 12, 2006 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris. She was 39.
The daughter of Milford and Edna Bivins Boyles, she was born on Aug. 19, 1967 in Liberty, NY.
Janet was a member of 4-H Crafters- Animal Lovers.
Survivors include her mother, Edna Boyles at home; her husband; Edward Bolster Jr. at home; 3 daughters, Jessica Boyles, Leanna Bolster and Marilu Bolster all of Swan Lake; a brother, Milford Boyles and wife Cheryl of Swan Lake; 2 sisters, Camey Boyles and her fiance Keith Reid of Ferndale and Jean Vaile and husband Fred of Swan Lake; a long-time friend, Vincent Hunter Sr. of NYC and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Richard Kenneth Ferraro

Richard Kenneth Ferraro, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Northern Westchester Medical Center in Mt. Kisco. Mr. Ferraro was a Sales Engineer for A.F.A. Protective Systems, Inc. in Elmsford. 1963, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1969.
Born in Manhattan on January 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Edward and Grace Ferraro. On May 3, 1964, he married Connie Carretta at Immaculate Conception Church in the Bronx. Mrs. Ferraro predeceased him on January 18, 1994.
Survivors include his son Richard Ferraro and his wife Sheila of Newburgh; his son Tony Ferraro of LaGrangeville; his daughter Reneé Orlik and her husband Stephan of Verbank; his brother Edward Ferraro and his wife Jean of Niagra Falls; his grandsons Corey and Tyler Orik; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John Ferraro of Indiana.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835, Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Entombment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.

Edgar E. Summerlin
Staatsburg, NY
Edgar E. Summerlin, 78, saxophonist, composer and teacher, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at the Northern Dutchess Hospital.
He earned degrees from Central Missouri State University and Eastman School of Music, and studied composition with Samuel Adler, Gunther Schuller and Hall Overton. He taught at North Texas State and was professor of music and director of Jazz Studies at City College of the City University of New York. He composed and conducted for films, major television networks in the USA and Canada, and many artists, including Carol Channing, Joel Grey, Anna Sokolow, Viola Farber, Jim Hall, Ornette Coleman, Sheila Jordan, and Lee Konitz.
He co-led with Don Heckman, an experimental music group, The Improvisational Workshop that included Ron Carter, Steve Swallow, Ed Shaughnessy, and Charlie Persip. Mr. Summerlin had performed in jazz groups with Freddie Hubbard, John Lewis, Slide Hampton, Joe Chambers, Steve Kuhn, Hank Jones, Don Ellis, Bob Norden, Charlie Kniceley and tap dancer, Brenda Bufalino. He composed the first jazz liturgy performed in the United States; composed and conducted the music for the only full-length American film chosen for the Venice Film Festival in 1967 and was one of seven jazz composers commissioned to write a work for the First International Jazz Festival held in Washington, D.C. He won two Tellys for scores for New York City Housing Authority films. For two years, he was musical consultant to the Actors Studio in New York City. He has conducted and performed in Mexico, Europe, Canada, the Middle-East and Asia. Mr. Summerlin has also been the recipient of numerous grants and commissions including those from the Rufino Tamayo Museum in Mexico City and the Cultural Center in Abu Dhabi. He recorded for Mandala Trece records in Mexico and Ictus records in the United States.
Ed was named BMI jazz pioneer, and was a member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 238-291, New York Local 802, and NARAS. A motorcycle enthusiast, Ed was the former owner of Al Knapp’s Motorcycle Shop in Highland.
He was born September 1, 1928 in Mariana, Florida the son of William Edgar and Eunie Velma Summerlin. He is survived by his devoted wife Karen Louise (Jones) Summerlin of Staatsburg, a son Jeff, and his wife Karen “Kip” Summerlin of West Taghkanic; a son Sean of Desoto, Kansas; two granddaughters Erica and Meghan Summerlin; two brothers William and Lee of Lexington, Missouri; a sister Johnnie Peek of Urbana, Illinois; his previous wife Mary Summerlin and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Jo, who was the inspiration for the first jazz liturgy performed in the United States.
Ed was an extremely versatile player/composer whose work ranged freely from mainstream to avant garde jazz. He brought this passion to all aspects of his life especially as a devoted grandfather, and will be greatly missed by his darling Erica and sweet Meghan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana 59004.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be at the Pleasant Plains Presbyterian Church, Hollow Rd. Staatsburg on Sunday, October 15th at 3:00 pm. An additional celebration will take place in the near future.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St. Rhinebeck.

Augusta “Gussie” Townsend
Red Hook, NY
Augusta “Gussie” Townsend, 81, of Red Hook, NY, died Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
For many years she worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY and was also a volunteer at the Elmendorf Inn in Red Hook, NY.
Gussie was a former member of Red Hook Post #7765, VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Born on September 15th, 1925, in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of John and Lena (Yonke) Perz.
Gussie married Bruce L. Townsend on December 13, 1974 in St. Christopher's Church in Red Hook, NY. Bruce predeceased her on November 22, 2003
She is survived by a sister: Marion Mergendahl of Milan, NY, a brother: John Perz of Milan, NY, several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
A sister, Rita Perz predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 14th, 2006 at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, Red Hook, NY. The Rev. Ryan T. Nace will officiate. Interment will be in St. John’s Reformed Church Cemetery, Upper Red Hook, NY.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Saturday, October 14, 2006 from 9-11 AM.
Memorial donations may be made in Gussie’s memory to the St. John's Reformed Church, 126 Old Post Rd, North, Red Hook, NY, 12571.

Jozef Varadi
Milan, NY
Jozsef Varadi, 66, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at his home in Milan.
Jozsef emigrated in 1957 from Hungary to The Southlands Farm, Rhinebeck, where he lived and worked with Deborah Dows as a groundsman and horseman until his retirement.
He was born June 21, 1940 in Budapest, Hungary, the son of Joszef and Edith Varadi.
Jozsef is survived by four children and 3 grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

James B. Ronk, Jr.
Wappingers Falls, NY
James B. Ronk, Jr., 61, a lifelong area resident, died suddenly on Monday, October 9, 2006 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Poughkeepsie on February 15, 1945, he was the son of James B. Ronk, Sr. and Doris M. Betz. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a plumber by the State of New York at Taconic DDSO, Wassaic. He enjoyed building car models, NASCAR racing and drawing.
On August 1, 1981 in New Paltz, he married Dolores “Laurie” Warner Ronk, who survives at home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Jon Ryan Ronk of Wappingers Falls, Stephen A. Ronk of Schenectady, Tabitha Ann Haines of Catskill, and James B. Ronk III of Catskill; his stepchildren, Eric Dobson of Wappingers Falls and Heather Dobson of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, Lucas, Brianna, Richie, Sabrina, Anastasia, Michael and Alanis; his stepgrandchildren, Natasha, Jaison and Ikeyara; his sister, Dorlisa Shaffer; his sister-in-law, Jean Ann Lyons and her husband, Earl Bowman; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great –nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A service will be held at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Anthony Beck officiating followed by interment in Union Cemetery, Hyde Park.

Ronald D. Tissot
Callicoon Center, NY
Ronald D. Tissot, a 30 year resident of Callicoon Center, passed away on Monday October 9, 2006.
After leaving high school to enlist in the Navy in World War II, he served as a First Lt. during the Korean War. He had a career with New York Bell Telephone and AT &T, starting out as a lineman and working his way up to District Manager.
In the process, he earned a college degree in Marketing Management while also raising a daughter Elise and a son John with his wife Thalia, who pre deceased him.
He is also survived by his brother Ray, sister in law Lib, son in law Larry Lunas, and daughter in law Mary Day.
Ron had a keen interest in the responsible use of the environment and loved canoeing in the Canadian wilderness and trips to Alaska. He served on the local planning board and supported numerous charitable and social causes.
He will be dearly missed by his companion and best friend of ten years, Margaret “Meg” Bartow who owns and runs Roger’s Small Engine Repair in Liberty.

Kristen Mary Faust
Endicott, NY
Kristen Mary Faust, 27, a resident of Endicott for two years and formerly of Cold Spring, died suddenly on Monday, October 9, 2006 at Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City.
Born in Poughkeepsie on December 4, 1978, she was the daughter of Frederick W. Faust who died on March 25, 2005 and Kathy Faust who survives in Cold Spring. She was a 1996 graduate of Haldane High School where she was a star athlete.
During her senior year, she was a member of Haldane’s State Champion Girl’s Basketball Team and was named the State MVP. She graduated from SUNY Binghamton with dual Master Degrees in Social Work and Social Science and was currently pursuing her Doctorate in Social Work at the University at Albany.
For the past two years, Kristen was employed as a Senior Staff Counselor for Binghamton University. She completed her first marathon in Vermont in the fall of 2000 and was about to pursue her second marathon in memory of her father. In September 2006, she and her mother raised more than $10,000 as members of “Team in Training” for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in a half marathon at Schroon Lake. She loved photography, traveling and the beach, but especially spending time with her family and friends.
Kristen will always be remembered as a giving and gentle soul – the nicest person ever made. She had a beautiful spirit and spent her life taking care of others.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her life partner, Jennifer Hatgood of Endicott; her brothers, Frederick Faust and his girlfriend, Gina Meloni of Philadelphia and Robert Faust and his wife, Lalena of Wappingers Falls; her niece, Julia Hope Faust; her grandparents, Frederick T. Faust of Manhattan and Catherine Moran of Carmel; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A celebration of Kristen’s life will begin at 7:30pm. All friends are welcome to share memories. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 1 Chestnut Street, Cold Spring. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
