Kenneth A. Moore, Sr, 77, of Elizaville, NY, died Thursday, August 9, 2007 at his home.
A lifetime area resident, he was a food service worker at Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie for 30 years.
Ken was a member of Harris Smith Post #524 American Legion in Tivoli, and a Life Member of the Red Hook Rod & Gun Club.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the Army from 1954 to 1956.
Born on January 24, 1930 in Tivoli, NY, he was the son of the late Edward P. and Blanche (Cole) Moore. His wife, BlancheTewilliger Moore, predeceased him.
Ken is survived by three children: Kenneth Moore, Jr. and his wife Janet of Elizaville, Gary Moore and his wife Melanie of Tivoli, and Diane Moore of Elizaville, a sister: Madeline Picciuolo of Germantown, four grandchildren: Brad Moore and his wife Natalie, Jeremy Moore and his wife Amy Beth, Melanie Wambach and her husband Bill, and Daniel Moore, Four great grandchildren: Dylan Wambach, Joshua, Morgan, and Alexander Moore. Numerous nieces & nephews also survive.
Two brothers and three sisters: Raymond and Harold Moore, Virginia Wyant, Mabel Rose, and Hazel McKay, predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, Aug. 13th, at Burnett & White Funeral Home, 7461 S. Broadway Red Hook, NY. The Rev. John Koppenaal will officiate. Burial will be at St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery, Red Hook.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM.

Edward F. Thompson
Beekman, NY
Edward F. Thompson, 78, a resident of Poughquag for 14 years and formerly of Elmsford, died on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at his home.
Born in New York City on October 7, 1928, he was the son of John and Catherine O’Donnell Thompson. From 1946-1948, he was the Yonkers City Sprint Champion. Edward served as a Corporal in the US Army from 1950-1952 and had worked as a free-lance court reporter for several years. He was employed as a Lieutenant Detective for the State University of New York at Purchase for 23 years until his retirement in 1993. He was also a parishioner of St. Denis Church, Hopewell Junction.
On April 13, 1952 in Yonkers, Edward married Mary Keating who survives at home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Edward Thompson Jr. and his wife, Jennie of Delavan, WI, Gregory Thompson of Greenwich, CT and Kathryn Thompson of Bronxville; his brother, John Thompson of St. Petersburg, FL; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his son, William Thompson, in 1962.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at Sacred Heart Church, Yonkers followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Yonkers.

Richard Niblock, of Vero Beach Fl formerly of the Bronx, died Wednesday, August 8th, 2007 at BNA Hospice Home, Vero Beach FL. He was 85
Born in Bronx, NY on July 30, 1922, he was the son of Walter and Lauretta Coburn Niblock.
He served in the U.S. Army Intellegence Corps in WW II. He owned and operated, until his retirement , Niblocks Bar, Bronx.NY.
A Family Statement reads: "Richard was a Loving and Caring Son, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend. He was adored by us all. We will cherish all the memories we have made together with him and keep them close in our hearts. We Love You !!!!
Survivors include his beloved son Robert Niblock of Vero Beach, Fl, his daughter Laurie Niblock of Irvington,NY, His grandchildren Kelly Stroh and her husband Ronald of New Windsor,NY, Jody Niblock and her Fiance' Michael Oleary of Bloomingburg, NY, Scott Niblock of Bronx, NY, Kerry Niblock of Bronx, NY and Ryan Bloise of Irvington, NY. Great Grandchildren Samantha Vohl of New Windsor, Keara O'leary of Bloomingburg, Connor Stroh of New Windsor and Tyler Stroh of New Windsor.
He is predeceased by his wife Loretta Cole Niblock and Three Brothers, Walter, Horace & Lester Niblock.

Helen W. de la Bastide, 76, of Kingston, NY, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at the Benedictine Hospital in Kingston.
A Kingston resident for the past four years, she previously lived in Montgomery, NY.
Born February 16, 1931, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Lillian (Schorneck) Uffelman.
Helen married Kenneth de la Bastide on June 22, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY. Mr. De la Bastide survives her at home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter: Linda Darwell of Red Hook, NY and one son: Kenneth De La Bastide, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Lapel, IN, grandchildren: Wendy Darwell and her husband David Zaloga of Arlington, VA, and Glenn Darwell, Jr. of Long Beach, NY; step-grandchildren: Charity Harris of Lapel, IN, and Jason Pigg of Lafayette, IN, step great grandchildren: Will Harris, Justice Harris, Jimmie Pigg, and Katie Pigg, a son-in-law: Glenn Darwell, Sr. of NJ., and several nieces and nephews.
Her sister, Anna Forgione, predeceased her.

Donald H. Kimble, Jr., a lifetime resident of Middletown died unexpectedly Monday, August 6th, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center at Horton. He was 50.
Don was born in Middletown, NY on January 13, 1957, the son of the late Donald H. Kimble Sr and Constance Ann Baggatta Kimble who survives him of Middletown.
He was employed as a Deputy Building Inspector for the Town of Wallkill, Middletown, NY.
He served as Chief of the Middletown Fire Department from 1997 - 2000, Assistant Chief from 1991 - 1997. A member of the Excelsior Hook & Ladder Company #1 he served as Company Captain, President and Treasurer. He also served as a Fire Commissioner for Mechanicstown Fire District. He is survived by his wife Carol Reiff Kimble and son Donald H. Kimble III
at home. His brother James A. Past president of the Elizaville Property Owners Association, he was an Elizaville resident for 20 years, moving here from N. Bergen, NJ.
Before his retirement, he was a self-employed handyman for many years.
A veteran of the US Army, he served overseas in both Korea and Germany during the Korean War.
Born November 22, 1932, in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Eugene and Mary (White) Stewart.
Eugene is survived by his wife: Constance (Kamenas) Stewart, three daughters: Eileen Dandorph of Port Charlotte, FL, Sandra Alves of Brooklyn, NY, Barbara Falcone of S. Hackensack, NJ and fiv sons and a daughter: Eugene Stewart, Jr. of Rockaway, NJ, Robert Stewart of Toms River, NJ, Kenneth Stewart of Forked River, NJ, daughter Robin Jaworski of Port Charlotte, FL, Perry Stewart of Brooklyn, NY, and Michael Stewart. Donald G. Ruhlin, a loving husband and father, passed away at Catskill Regional Medical Center on August 6, 2007. He was 77.
The son of the late George and Florence Ruhlin, he was born on November 5, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY.
Don retired in 1983 from the York Telephone Co. in Monticello after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. After retiring, he and his wife sold their Montgomery, NY and Shohola, Pa homes and enjoyed many years of trailering about the country finally settling in Flagler Beach, FL and Neversink, NY.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dolores Perry Ruhlin at home; 2 daughters, Janet Masker and her companion Sam Hickman, Donna Baylor and her companion Charles Saul, both of Chandler, TX; 1 son, James Ruhlin and his wife Nita of Neversink, NY; 5 grandchildren, Chris Baylor and and his wife Erika of Plano, TX, Aaron Baylor and wife Diana of Allen TX, Alyssa, Kathryn and JT Ruhlin of Neversink and 1 great-grandson, Zach Baylor of Plano, TX; a sister, Florence Sullivan of Lewisville, NC and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
A memorial service and visitation with the family will be held at the Neverisnk Fire House, RT 55, Neversink on Friday August 10, 2007 from 7-9 PM.

James S. Luis of Kauneonga Lake passed away at his home on Tuesday August 7, 2007. He was 81.
A long time resident of the area, James was born in NYC on January 26, 1926 to the late Salvadore and Sarah Madurh Luis.
He was the widower of Eleanor Anderson who passed away in February 2006 after 35 years of marriage. During their union, they made substantial contributions to various charities including the ASPCA.
James was a retired union carpenter and Navy Veteran of WW 2.
James was a longstanding member of the Sullivan County Conservation Club.
James is survived by 4 Daughters , 3 Sons, 3 Sisters, 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great grandchildren.

Hulda "Patsy" Bradbury Walsh
Red Hook, NY
Hulda “Patsy” Bradbury Walsh, 96, of Red Hook, died Tuesday July 17, 2007 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY.
Mrs. Walsh was born in Dedham, Massachusetts on April 8, 1911 to Alice Riker and Frank Emerson Bradbury. She attended Dana Hall School in Wellesley Massachusetts and graduated from Vassar College in 1932. While at Vassar she performed in many experimental theatre productions under the direction of Hallie Flanagan.
After graduation from college, Mrs. Walsh worked as a medical receptionist at New York Hospital in New York City.
She married William J. Walsh on December 30, 1936 in South Orange, New Jersey. She and Mr. Walsh moved to Dutchess County where Mr. Walsh joined the Poughkeepsie law firm of Guernsey, Butts and Walsh. Mr. Walsh predeceased her in 2001.
Patsy was actively involved in the community as a volunteer. She tutored students in the Red Hook public schools and at The Astor School. She volunteered at Bard College in the Hungarian Refugee program in 1957. She campaigned tirelessly for the Democratic Party in many losing causes, including the Senate campaign of Gore Vidal.
Bill and Patsy were intrepid travelers and adventurers, traveling to Russia and Yugoslavia, visiting Africa on safari, and roaming over the back roads of Costa Rica. In 1966 they traveled around the world, stopping in Greece, Lebanon, Thailand, the Philippines, Japan and Hawaii.
Their house on Maizeland Road was often full of family and friends, with guests happily seated around the big table in the dining room, while Patsy steered the conversation toward the subjects which interested her most: politics, people and the arts.
Mrs. Walsh is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Geoff Carr of Red Hook and Bobbie and Bob Rabin of Syracuse; a son and daughter-in-law Kip and Beverly Walsh of Kinderhook; seven grandchildren, Kevin and Stephen Anglin, Kathy Anglin Eisenhofer, Benjamin and Bill Rabin, Brad Walsh and Kara Walsh Warner; twelve great-grandchildren; a niece and her husband Evelyn and David Stevenson of Poughkeepsie; and her long-time caretaker and wonderful friend Daniel Darko.
Two half-brothers, Duncan and Gerald Scarborough, predeceased her.
A memorial celebration will be held at 4 PM on Saturday August 18 at the Walsh home on 17 Maizeland Road in Red Hook. A reception will follow the ceremony.

June E. Myers, 65, of Staatsburg, NY, found comfort in the arms of an angel at her home on Thursday, August 2, 2007.
Born June 1, 1942 in Tarrytown, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Burd) Connor.
June had a zest for life and appreciated the smallest of things life offered. She loved camping, the casinos, crocheting, knitting, board games, bird watching and spending time with her family and friends.
June will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and her dedication to her family.
She is survived by her husband: James Myers, her daughters and their husbands: Cynthia & Scott Reimuth of Poughkeepsie, and Helen A. & Jeff Neville of Staatsburg, her step children and their spouses: James Myers II and Michelle, of Stanfordville, and Colleen Pfeiffer and Eric of Milan, NY, her sister: Marilyn Wingert of Holliston, MAS, her daughter-in-law: Carolyn Connor of Madisonville, TN, 11 grandchildren, a niece and several nephews.
A son, John Connor, predeceased her in 2001. Her three brothers, George, Ralph and Edward Connor, also predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, Aug. 6th, at the Clinton Alliance Church, 1192 Centre Rd Rhinebeck, NY. The Reverend Thomas L. Hartley will officiate. Cremation will be at Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston.

Frederick Kerby Bonner, 49, of Port Jervis, New York.died Monday, January 14th, 2008 at Bon Secours Community Hospital.
Born in Monticello, New York on August 18, 1958, he was the son of the late Freeman and Ethel Walker Bonner.
A graduate of Monticelo High School, he served 4 years in the Navy enlisting with his best friend Benjamin Jones, then worked at Middletown Psychiatric Center as a Secure Care Therapy Aide for 17 years.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Minnesota Vikings, fishing and helping people.
He is survived by his wife Patricia McGregor Bonner at home, 2 daughters Jeana and her husband Adam Lercara of Utah and Ashley Bonner serving with the US Coast Guard in North Carolina, his granddaughter Hayleigh Lercara, 2 sons Victor Sanchez of Utah, and Eric Sanchez at home 2 sisters Rachel and her husband Secoma Kgama and Alice and her husband Bill Dunn of Syracuse, 2 brothers Edward and his wife Angela Bonner of Michigan., Allan and his wife Marie Bonner of Monticello, his Aunt Lucretia Williams and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Sassano, Italy on March 28, 1918,she was the daughter of Gennaro and Maria Rosa Cavallone Picone. She was the widow of Antonio Loguercio.
She was a communicat of St Joseph Church, Middletown, NY.
She is survived by her daughter Antonia and her husband Giovanni Onorato of Middletown, her son Nicola and his wife Francesca Loguercio of Middletown, 5 grandchildren: Francesca Ellery and her husband Jeffrey, Giuseppina Onorato, Amalio Onorato, Rossella Loguercio all of Middletown, Antonella Onorato of Arlington, Va, her great grandson Jeffrey Ellert Jr of Middletown, her brother Antonio Picone, 2 sisters Giacomimma Picone and Maria Picone all of Italy, several nieces and nephews.

Alton Russell Reeves
Liberty, NY
Alton R. Reeves of Liberty passed into the light a day prior to his birthday at his home. His son and daughter-in-law were by his side. He was 78.
The son of the late Russell and Mildred McCumber Reeves, he was born on January 12, 1929 in Riverhead, NY.
He served in the US Army. He was an expert marksman and worked as an outfitter on transport ships. He was requested to become an officer but chose to go home to his fiancé and start a life together. Alton learned his trade as a master finish carpenter from his father and his grandfather who was a ship’s carpenter. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union in Eastern Long Island. Alton gave his two children a wonderful childhood in Deer Park, LI with his wife Diana. He then built a home in Liberty and moved his family, caring for them in the best way. He also ran a successful Antique Store for over 35 years. He was a superior craftsman with a sharp intellectual mind and a great sense of humor. Alton helped build his son’s home and helped renovate his son’s place of business and his daughter’s home.
He is survived by his proud and loving son Russell and daughter-in-law Denise Reeves of Liberty; 2 grandsons, Branden and Hunter Reeves; his first wife Diana Victor; his close and special friend Barbara Ferrantello, all of whom loved him and will miss him greatly. He is also survived by his loving daughter, Robin Masnick of West Virginia and 3 grandsons George, Jack and Andrew Nichols. He was predeceased by his second wife Grace.
The family will receive friends on Thursday January 17, 2008 from 7-9 at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 8 PM with Rev. Kenneth Rodgers officiating.
Cremation will be held at the convenience of the family.

Marion P. Malachick, 84, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 2005 and formerly of the Bronx, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie.
Born in New York City on June 16, 1923, she attended Grace School. Until her retirement, Marion had been employed as a legal secretary in Manhattan for many years. She was a former parishioner of St. Benedict’s Church, Bronx and St. Cecelia’s Church, Manhattan. She was and extremely friendly person and a world traveler.
Marion was a loving and caring aunt and godmother and is survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will be in St. Denis Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Diane J. Hewitt, 63, of Middletown entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 13th, 2008.
Born in Passaic, New Jersey on October 13, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Ida C. Kunz Petersen.
Diane was the President of CSEA Southern Region 3, covering seven counties in the Hudson Valley.
She was also a past President of CSEA Local 415, Middletown Psychiatric Center, where she worked as a Mental Hygiene Therapy Assistant II until the facility's recent closure. She was transferred to Rockland Psychiatric Center in Orangeburg.
Diane was a strong advocate for employee rights and fought hard to improve the salaries, working conditions and overall well being of the 42,000 members she served. She always showed strength, compassion and integrity, qualities she proudly passed on to her children and grandchildren.
Diane is survived by her soul mate and husband, Foster Hewitt Jr. at home, her loving son and daughter-in-law William and Cheryl Beglau of Groton, CT, her cherished daughter and son -in-law Tammi and Eric Chaboty of Neversink, her caring brother and sister -in-law, Robert and Sheryl Petersen of Bay City, MI, her grandchildren Kyle and Melissa Beglau of Groton, CT, her mother-in-law Eleanor Hewitt of Garnerville,her brother-in-law Roger Hewitt of Thiells, sister -in-law and husband Lynn and Paul Urban of Catskill, her close friend Arthur Townsend of Middletown, several nieces, nephews, many friends and her family in CSEA.
Diane has joined both her parents, her brother Edward Petersen, her father-in-law Foster Hewitt Sr, and her beloved son, Frank E. Beglau in Heaven.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday January 17, 2008 from 2 - 4 & 7-9 PM at Morse Funeral Home Inc, 33 Railroad Ave, Middletown, NY.
Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Friday at 10 AM with Father Ndulaka officiating
Donations in Diane's name may be made to Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, Box 724, Monroe, NY 10950.
Arrangements are under the guidance of Morse Funeral Home Inc, Middletown, NY.

Teri J. Brugar, 64, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 30 years and formerly of Yonkers, died on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Putnam Hospital Center.
Born in Manhattan on November 19, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence DeRatier DiDio. She was a parishioner of St. Columba Church, Hopewell Junction.
On January 15, 1966 in the Bronx, Teri married Thomas Brugar who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughter, Traci Scofield and her husband, Keith of Hopewell Junction; her grandson, Tyler Scofield; her brother, Kenneth DiDio and his wife, Elaine of Estero, FL; and her niece and nephew, Kelli and Michael.
