Robert W. Tenney
Services for Robert Tenney, 74, of Westland were Dec. 14 in Ward Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Northville.
Mr. Tenney was born May 5, 1928, in Southfield, and died Dec, 3, 2002, in Livonia. He was a shipping clerk in the manufacturing business.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley; daughters, Jill (J.) Bowers and Marla (John) Cencer; and grandson, Evan.
Arrangements were made by L.J. Griffin Funeral Home.

Joseph J. Gibbel Jr.
A funeral Mass for Joseph Gibbel, Jr., 76, of Westland was Dec. 14 in St. Damian Catholic Church. Officiating was the Rev. Lawrence Zurawski.
Mr. Gibbel was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Detroit, and died Dec. 10, 2002, in Warren. He worked in automotive testing.
Surviving is his sister, Dolores (Richard) Cedzynski.
Arrangements were made by Leonard A. Turowski & Son Funeral Home.

Richard W. Jackson
Services for Richard Jackson, 81, of Dearborn Heights were Dec. 12 in Christus Victor Lutheran Church, Dearborn Heights. Officiating was the Rev. Kurt R. Radke.
Mr. Jackson was born June 28, 1921, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and died Dec. 8, 2002, in Detroit. He was an engineer.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia; sons, Michael (Bonnie) Jackson, Bruce (Debbie) Jackson and Richard (Nancy) Jackson; and four grandchildren.
Family members reside in Garden City and Westland.

Ann A. Petroni
Services for Ann Petroni, 70, of Westland were Dec. 5 in Ss. Simon & Jude Catholic Church with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield. Officiating was the Rev. Gerard V. Bechard.
Mrs. Petroni was born March 14, 1932, in Detroit, and died Nov. 30, 2002, in Garden City. She was a general baker for a bakery. She was a member of Ss. Simon & Jude Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children, Joseph (Chun) Petroni of Colorado Springs, Colo., Catherine (James) Vickroy of Melvindale and Lawrence (Hye Young) Petroni of Detroit; siblings, Charles Reinhardt of Trenary, Mary Vickroy of Allen Park, John Reinhardt of Detroit, Robert Reinhardt of Georgia, James Reinhardt of Garden City and Bruce Reinhardt of Lexington; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Roberta Jean Diaz

Mrs. Diaz was born May 16, 1948, and died Dec. 2, 2002, in Detroit. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Leonard; daughters, Denise (David) Newsome and Lisa (Tom) White; brother, David (Sandy) Cutter; sister, Patricia Dobbs; and six grandchildren.

Dean Lawrence Stevens
A memorial service for Dean Stevens, 73, of Westland will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, in Henry Ford Village-Chapel, 15101 Ford Road, Dearborn. Officiating will be the Rev. Alfred Grams. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Stevens was born Jan. 4, 1929, in Detroit, and died Dec. 1, 2002, in Livonia. He was a former resident of Livonia. He was a purchaser/buyer for Ford Motor Company-Dearborn, retiring in 1987 after 36 years of service.
He was a graduate of Assumption High School in Windsor. He received a degree in commercial science from Detroit Business Institute.
He was a trustee and board member of Ford Employee Recreation Association (FERA). Mr. Stevens was a member of Ford Chorus.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his mother, Bernice Behnke of Dearborn; step-mother, Louise Stevens; brother, Robert Stevens of Sidney, Ohio; and sister, Carol Stevens of Commerce Township.

Patricia Ann Hollis

Mrs. Hollis was born Aug. 18, 1948, and died Nov. 27, 2002, in Westland. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Dewey; sons, Richard Hollis and Ryan Hollis; parents, Vivian and Glenn Riddle; brother, Richard Peeler; step-brothers, Kenneth Riddle and Roger Riddle.

Rosemary Dean
Services for Rosemary Dean, 56, of Westland were Dec. 7 in Oak Chapel at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, Novi. Officiating was the Rev. Don Confer.
Mrs. Dean was born Jan. 22, 1946, in Detroit, and died Dec. 2, 2002, in Farmington Hills. She attended college for two years. She was a Realtor.
Surviving are her husband, John Dean III; son, John Dean IV; daughters, Melanie (Brian) Conn, Laura Batts and Mary Dean; mother, Mary Holleman; brother, Bill Holleman; and sisters, JoAnn Holleman and Andrea Oleksa.
Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her father, William Holleman.

Gerda A. Miller
Services for Gerda Miller, 74, of Westland were today, Thursday, Dec. 5, in First United Methodist Church, Garden City. Officiating was the Rev. Jerome K. Smith.
Mrs. Miller was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Germany, and died Dec. 1, 2002, in Ann Arbor. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Ollie; children, Rhonda (Jeff) Lebbin, Roxanne (Charles) Clark, Kevin (Sharon) Miller, Julie (Frank) Higgins and Jenny (David) Beers; sister, Trudie Johnson; and seven grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home.

Stanley Shember
A funeral Mass for Stanley Shember, 97, of Hamburg, formerly of Westland, was today, Thursday, Dec. 5, in St. Theodore Catholic Church, Westland, with entombment at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
Mr. Shember died Dec. 2, 2002.
Surviving are his children, Carl (Nona), Timothy (Diane) and Larry; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Shember was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, and son, Norman.
Arrangements were made by Ziomek Funeral Home.

Clara B. Mielcarek
Services for Clara Mielcarek, 89, of Westland were Dec. 2 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wayne. Officiating was the Rev. Jack Baker.
Mrs. Mielcarek was born Nov. 17, 1913, and died Nov. 26, 2002, in Garden City. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her children, Jo Ann DeYonker and David (Julie) Mielcarek; five grandchildren, Mickey Thomas, Lynne Zuke, Ann Norgren, David Mielcarek and Sarah Freedman; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Mielcarek was preceded in death by her husband, Edward.

Cornelius O'Donnell
Services for Cornelius "Ed" O'Donnell, 63, of Plymouth were Nov. 27 in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with burial at St. Casimir Cemetery in Chicago, Ill. Officiating was the Rev. John J. Sullivan.
Mr. O'Donnell was born Nov. 9, 1939, in Mantoon, Ill., and died Nov. 24, 2002, at his home in Plymouth. He was an engineer for Ford Motor Company. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy; children Edmond O'Donnell of West Bloomfield, Steven (Lisa) O'Donnell of West Bloomfield, Matthew (Renee) O'Donnell of Westland, Laura O'Donnell of Westland and Lisa (Andrew) O'Donnell-Wong of Plymouth; step-daughters, Diane (Jim) Potts and Debra (Mike) Giovanni; step-son, Richard (Rebecca) Kruger; brothers, Philip (Shirley) O'Donnell of Florida and Thomas (Hedy) O'Donnell of Illinois; six grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren.
Memorial tributes may be made to Michigan Heart Association.

Madeleine Patricia Libtow
Services for Madeleine Libtow, 59, of Westland were Nov. 27, 2002, in L.J. Griffin Funeral Home with burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery.
Mrs. Libtow was born Feb. 13, 1943, in Garden City, and died Nov. 25, 2002, at her home in Westland. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Robert; son, Joseph (Jennifer); daughters, Therese (James) Laster and Anne Libtow; four brothers; three sisters; and three grandchildren, Kristina, Tommy and Samantha.

Myron J. Gootee
Services for Myron J. Gootee, 88, of Westland were Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Divine Savior Catholic Church with the Rev. Alexander Kuras officiating. Burial was at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
Mr. Gootee was born Feb. 12, 1914, in Loogootee, Ind,. and died Nov. 24, 2002, in Plymouth. He was a salesman. He was a member of the Divine Savior Catholic Church.
Survivors include daughters Norma Berry and Karen (Ron) Gagne; friend Mary Smith; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Preceding in death was his wife, Lillian Rose.
Arrangements were by Vermeulen Funeral Home in Westland. Memorials may be made to the Capuchin Monastery, 1740 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, MI 48207.

Gerald T. Ward
Services for Gerald T. Ward, 62, of Plymouth were Saturday, Nov. 23, from Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. Ron Shubert officiating. Burial was at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Livonia.
Mr. Ward, a lifelong Plymouth resident, was born June 6, 1940, in Plymouth and died Nov. 20, 2002, in Detroit. He was a semi-retired carpenter and a graduate of Plymouth High School.
He enjoyed hunting and collecting model cars, planes and boats.
Survivors include sons Gerald T. Ward of Fox Lake, Ill., Dave Ward of Westland and Michael (Leah) Ward of Wisconsin; daughter Ann Ward of Romulus; brothers Edward (Wilma) Ward of Westland and Lavene Ward of Plymouth; sisters Catherine (Thomas) Johnson of Westland and Jeanette (Al) Boeck of Coleman and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Ward family.

Brenda Ramsden
Services for Brenda Ramsden, 44, of Westland will be Tuesday, Dec. 3, from the L.J. Griffin Funeral Home in Westland with the Rev. William C. Hale officiating.
Mrs. Ramsden was born Aug. 31, 1958, in Detroit and died Nov. 27, 2002, at Garden City Hospital. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters Sarah M. Horn and Kristy L. Buchakian; son Lucas J. Buchakian; parents Wilmer and Constance Ramsden; grandmother Eleanore Gendjar; sister Shelly Shaffer; brothers Gary and Alan Ramsden and one granddaughter, Mariah.
Cremation rites were accorded.

Paul Joseph Hagstrom
Services for former Redford Township resident Paul "Taz" Hagstrom, 33, of Royal Oak were Jan. 18 in Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, Farmington, with burial at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley. Officiating was the Rev. Mark Woodbury from Charlotte Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Hagstrom was born Sept. 2, 1969, in Livonia, and died Jan. 14, 2003, in Centerline. He was a machine operator for SRS Manufacturing. He was a 1987 graduate of Redford Union High School. He was a member of Westland Jaycees.
Surviving are his daughter, Frida Hagstrom; parents, Arnold Hagstrom and Linda Arnold; brother, Jim of Westland; grandparents, Donald and Pearl Hagstrom, Ella Hagstrom, and Frances Robson.

Casmere Henry Rozinski
Casmere Rozinski, 82, of Westland died Jan. 15, 2003, in Westland.
Mr. Rozinski was born Jan. 21, 1920, in Detroit. He was a truck driver.
Surviving are his wife, Martha; son, Dennis (Barbara) Rozinski of Howell; daughter, Marsha Rozinski of Westland; brother, Joseph Racine of West Virginia; and four grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Vermeulen Funeral Home, Westland.

Virginia C. Carpinelli
A funeral Mass for Virginia Carpinelli, 70, of Westland will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, in St. Bernardine of Siena Church. Her body will lie in state 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Visitation is noon to 9 p.m. today, Sunday, Jan. 19, in L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, 7707 Middlebelt Road, Westland. A Rosary will be 7 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carpinelli was born Dec. 13, 1932, in Flint, and died Jan. 15, 2003, in Dearborn. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her children, Alfred (Kathi), Carmen and Anthony (Gay); sisters, Elizabeth Spencer and Adella Szafranic; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Carpinelli was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred.

Michael R. Sonnenberg
Services for Michael Sonnenberg, 42, of Westland were Jan. 18 in St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Officiating was the Rev. George Charnley.
Mr. Sonnenberg was born May 16, 1960, in Detroit, and died Jan. 15, 2003, in Taylor. He was a quality control inspector at Ford Motor Company Wayne Stamping Plant. He came to the Westland community in 1997 from Canton.
Mr. Sonnenberg was a member of S.N.M.C. He was a 1978 graduate of Plymouth-Salem High School and Sienna Heights College. He enjoyed camping and canoeing with his children.
Surviving are his children, Jason McBee of Southfield, Carolyn (Matthew) Thompson of Garden City, Lauren Sonnenberg of Dearborn Heights, Michael Sonnenberg of Dearborn Heights and Kelley Sonnenberg of PlymouthTownship; siblings, James (Gail) Sonnenberg of Superior Township, Thomas Sonnenberg of Inkster, Robert (Sharon) Sonnenberg of Northville and Laura (Ron) Sonnenberg-Radtke of Milan; and granddaughter, Sarah Thompson.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
Arrangements were made by Schrader-Howell Funeral Home.

Michael Wayne Tsurui
Servivces for Michael Tsurui, 49, of Westland were held in Harry J. Will Funeral Home in Wayne with burial at Parkview Memorial Gardens in Livonia. Officiating was the Rev. Hal Edmunds.
Mr. Tsurui died Jan. 14, 2003.
Surviving are his parents, Hiroshi (Pearl) Tsurui; sister, Bonni (Lawerence) Franka; and nephews, Eric and Thomas.
Mr. Tsurui was preceded in death by his mother, Aiko.

Simonne M. Grzesik
A funeral Mass for Simonne "Otto" Grzesik of Canton was held at St. Mary Catholic Church with burial at Michigan Memorial Park. Officiating was the Rev. Jack Baker.
Mrs. Grzesik died Jan. 10, 2003. She was a former teacher at Stevenson Junior High School and John Glenn High School, both in Westland. She was director of Adult Community Theatre for the City of Wayne and a member of Canton Senior Citizens.
Surviving are her husband, Richard; parents, Simonne and Paul Lada; siblings, Stephen (Karen) Lada, Patricia Lada, Mary (Dan) Colton, Elizabeth (Randy) Gazdag, Mark Lada and Jeanne (Jamie) Platt.
Mrs. Grzesik was preceded in death by her siblings, Gabrielle (Tom) Harrison and Joseph Lada.
Memorial tributes may be made to Al-Anon.

Mildred Irene Wight
Services for Mildred Wight, 91, of Westland will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in Uht Funeral Home, Westland with burial at Glenwood Cemetery in Wayne. Officiating will be the Rev. Rob Joy. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 7, in the funeral home.
Mrs. Wight was born June 10, 1911, and died Nov. 4, 2002, in Garden City. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her son, C. Ronald (Nancy) Wight; daughter, Juliana D'Amico; two grandchildren, Karen (Joel) Wight-Hoogheem and Jeffrey (Erin) Wight; and niece and nephew, Margot (Pete) Fisher Dorn-Dutcher and Michael Fisher.
Mrs. Wight was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton.
