Basil G. Bryant
AUBURN -- Basil G. Bryant, 88, of East Hebron, died Sunday at Clover Manor Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for the past ten days.
Mr. Bryant was born in Hartford, the son of the late Edward and Lovey (Merrill) Bryant, March 22, 1912. He had attended Hartford and Canton schools.
A logging and excavation contractor, by vocation, he was self-employed, until his retirement in 1975.
He married the former Louise Keene, who predeceased him in 1980. In 1985, he married the former Rita Estes, who survives him.Besides his wife of 15 years, Mr. Bryant is survived by two daughters, Beverly Cantin of Mexico, and Lola Gurschick of Turner; two sons, James of W. Minot, and Basil G. II, of Hebron; a step-daughter, Beverly Jordan; and three step-sons, John Jordan, Eugene Jordan, Jr., and Kenneth Jordan, all of Turner; a sister, Lovey Ethel Peterson, of Acton; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Andrews Funeral Home, High St., Buckfield, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.Funeral services at the funeral home Thursday at 2 p.m.Interment in the Elmwood Cemetery, E. Sumner, in the spring.

Jane Nesbit Kopp
CANTON -- Jane Nesbit Kopp, 93 formally of 321 Maple St. in Rumford, died Sunday January 28 at the Victorian Villa Nursing Home in Canton.
Born in Rumford, Maine on June 17, 1907, she was the daughter of Robert and Edith (Raymond) Nesbit. She attended Rumford Schools and worked as a nanny.
She was a Riviter during WWII and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for a number of years.
She was married in 1948 to the late Walter Kopp, who died in 1968. She was the last surviving Nesbit from her family. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and a special niece and caretaker, Sandra Nesbit of Rumford.
She was pre deceased by five brothers, Albert, Berl, Jerrold, Ellsworth and Robert Nesbit, and two sisters, Sally and Harriet.
At her request there will be no funeral services. Those who desire may contribute to the Rumford United Methodist Church c/o James Robertson 724 Forest Ave. Rumford, ME 04276 in her memory.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, Rumford.

June Hutchins
PORTLAND -- June G. Hutchins, 58, died Saturday, March 31, 2001 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME.
She fought a courageous two-year battle with kidney disease and was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her death. A life long resident of the area, she resided on the East Andover Road, East Andover.
She was born in Dixfield on June 25, 1942, the daughter of Ira and Mary (Lufkin) Gammon. She graduated from Andover High School.
June loved antiquing and was an Antique Dealer for many years and owned and operated The Birches Antiques in East Andover. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and especially loved her family.
She was married in Dixfield on January 10, 1959 to Harold H. Hutchins, who survives of East Andover. Other survivors include three daughters, Kathleen Ann Hutchins-Otero and her husband, Jaime of Webster, Texas, Terry Lynn Hutchins-Pierce and her husband, Roy, Jr. of East Andover, and Shelley Marie Hutchins of East Andover; three grandchildren, Kara and Jaime Otero of Webster, Texas, and Christopher Pierce of East Andover; four sisters, Mary, Marion, Marilyn and Elaine; and five brothers, Warren, Clifford, Ira, Chester and Frank.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, Milan and a special nephew, Chris.
Funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford. Those who desire, please contribute to the Rumford Dialysis Unit % Richard Doherty, 16 Swift Ave, Rumford, Me. 04276 in her memory.

Donald P. Thurston
NORTH YARMOUTH -- Donald P. Thurston, 90, of Sligo Road, North Yarmouth, formerly of Rumford, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001 at the Barron Center in Portland.
Born in Rumford on Sept. 6, 1910, son of the late Herman and Villa Thurston, he graduated from Stephens High School, Rumford, in 1929.
Mr. Thurston started work in the milk department of H.P. Hood in Rumford in 1934 soon after his marriage to Harriet L. Grant of Mexico on June 23, 1934. He was transferred to the Hood's plant in Portland in 1940, where he was employed in both the milk and ice cream divisions. He moved to North Yarmouth in 1978 following his retirement.
He was a founding member of the Pine Tree Acres Campground. in Turner and a member of the Holiday Ramblers Club. He was state director of the North American Campers Association from 1970 to 1974. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to many rallies.
Mr. Thurston was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Portland and was a longtime member of the Woodfords Club in Portland. He was a member of the Central Square Baptist Church in Portland and often attended the North Yarmouth Congregational Church. He was a member of the Amicitia Club at the Central Square Baptist Church, and he and his wife were known for their "good" church suppers.
Survivors include one son, Ronald G. of Falmouth; two daughters, True Gauvin of Pelham, N.H., and Donna R. Thurston of North Yarmouth; one sister, Evelyn T. Bean of Bryant Pond; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, on Feb. 25, 1995. and two brothers, Bernard and Ray.
A memorial service was be held on Saturday, Aug. 11 at the North Yarmouth Congregational Church with the Rev. Gill Healey officiated. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the North Yarmouth Congregational Church Garden Club, Route 115, North Yarmouth, ME 04069.

Joyce "Joy" Marie Freeman Kenna
WESTBROOK -- Joyce "Joy" Marie Freeman Kenna, 56, of Westbrook Gardens, died unexpectedly on November 30 at her home.
She was born in Rumford, the daughter of Ray Fulle and Louise Perkins Freeman. She attended schools there and graduated from Rumford High School. She also attended Westbrook College, where she graduated from nursing.
Joy lived in Portland for many year before moving to Westbrook eight years ago. She was a dedicated caregiver and worked for local nursing homes.
Joy enjoyed spending time with her family, her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts, cooking and going camping with her family.
She is survived by a son, Peter Serafin of Westbrook; four daughters, Ann Burnham of Westbrook, Tina Ferrara of South Portland, Patricia Delisle of Auburn, and Bernadette Serafin of South Portland; a brother, William Freeman of Rumford; two sisters, Erma Jean Graham of Andover and Dorothy Wing of South Rumford; and nine grandchildren.

Bernice E. "Bunny" Kalasky, R.N.
LEWISTON -- Bernice E. "Bunny" Kalasky, R.N., 81, died Friday, January 4, 2002 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. She had resided in Auburn for the past 11 years and was formerly of Chicago.
Born in Rumford, Maine on May 24, 1920, she was the daughter of John and Bernice (Placzankis) Kalasky. She was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford and graduated from Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine.
She was a Registered Nurse at Michael - Reese Hospital in Chicago Illinois until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include one brother, Edward Baylis of Lewiston; one aunt, Stephaney Hughes of Saco; and three cousins, Michael Hughes of Auburn, Walter Placzanskis of Kennebunkport, and Jeanne Cox of DesMoines, Iowa.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at St. John Cemetery in Rumford.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, Rumford.

Carroll Joseph Casey
RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA -- Carroll Joseph Casey, 84, of 4601 Yates Mill Pond Road, formerly of Mexico, Maine, died Saturday at home. For the past 10 years, he had made his home with daughte,r Debra McCarty, her husband, Dennis and sons Craig and Kevin.
Surviving are daughters, Gail Downs of Bangor, Maine, Dorrie Casey and her husband, Archie Purcell of Chapel Hill, NC, Anne Ludington and her husband, Spencer of Fulton, NY, Debra McCarty and her husband, Dennis of Raleigh; a son, Carroll Neil "Carlie" Casey and his wife, Anne Larson Casey of Bellingham, Washington; a sister, Anne Gallant of Rumford, ME; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mr. Casey served in the navy during World War II and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He worked for 35 years as a tinknocker at the Oxford Paper Company, in Rumford, Maine.
A lifelong walker who hiked all but 70 miles of the Appalachian Trail, Mr. Casey walked up to 10 miles a day, even into his eighties. As a child, he had already earned the knickname "Shanks." A devout Catholic, Mr. Casey attended Mass wherever he happened to be visiting, across the United States and Canada.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia E. Casey, and a son, Michael Lloyd Casey.

Wilfred Henry Wagner
FARMINGTON -- Wilfred Henry Wagner, age 87, of Dixfield, died early Sunday morning, April 1 at the Sandy River Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation.
He was born November 11, 1913, in East Sumner, Maine, a son of Ozem J. and Hattie Belle (Mackay) Wagner.
Mr. Wagner was raised and educated in Livermore and Livermore Falls schools, graduating in 1931 from Livermore Falls High School.
In 1932, he married Tekla Rodzen of Wilton.
Mr. Wagner was employed at the Wilton Woolen Mill for 26 years and served a term as President of the local union there. He also worked for K & H Foster Construction Company, Oxford Paper Company and SAD #21 in Dixfield, until his retirement in 1975.
Over the years, he attended churches in Dryden, Livermore Falls and Dixfield.
Mr. Wagner served on the Board of Selectmen in Wilton, was a 1st Lieutenant in the Maine State Guard during World War II, and was a member of the Williamson Lodge #20 IOOF in Wilton.
He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to read and did crossword puzzles daily until recent years.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Tekla, of Dixfield; a son, Lauriston Wagner and his wife, Irene Wagner of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a daughter, Beverly Collins and her husband, Keith Collins of Farmington; five sisters, Arlene Karkos of Jay, Ruth Warren of Texas, Edith Preston of Jay, Doris Chandler of Livermore Falls and Donna Lee of Weld. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Carrie Conrad and Lottie Greenleaf and, four brothers, Howard Wagner, Clarence Wagner, Joshua Wagner and Arthur "Bud" Wagner.

Walterine M. Gauthier
PORTLAND -- Walterine M. Gauthier, 81, died Friday, January 4, 2002 at Mercy Hospital, Portland, Maine. Formerly of Rumford most of her life, she was residing at Larrabee Village, 30 Liza Harmon Drive, Westbrook, ME.
She was born in Rumford on July 6, 1920, a daughter of Walter and Marie (Sutton) Draper. She had attended Rumford schools.
She worked from 1972 to 1975 in the kitchen at the Rumford Community Hospital.
Mrs. Gauthier was a Communicant of St Athanasius-St John Church in Rumford, Maine. She enjoyed cooking, especially for family and friends and she loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was married in Rumford, Maine on August 13, 1938 to the late Omer J. Gauthier, who died in Waterville on October 15, 1982.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannine Poulin of Portland; a son, Theodore Gauthier and his wife, Susan of Saco; four grandchildren, Denise Byrd and her husband, Robert of Peru, Michelle Maillet of Rumford, Lisa Marr and her husband, William of Larchmont, New York, and Ryan John Gauthier of Saco; eight great grandchildren, Tia, Brianna and Danielle Byrd all of Peru, Nathan Maillet of Silver Springs Florida and Rumford, Matthew David, Meghan, Anna Lisa and Olivia Marr, all of Larchmont, New York; one sister, Shirley Leblanc of Mexico; and one brother, Wilbur Draper of Rumford.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Bernard and Bernice Draper; and a brother, Carroll Draper.

William F. Cushing, Sr.
BETHEL -- William F. Cushing, Sr., 70 died Friday December 28, 2001 in Milton Plantation. He was a resident of Route 232 in Bethel and had lived in the area all of his life
Born in Andover, Maine on August 28, 1931, he was the son of Edgar and Florena (Cole) Cushing. He was a graduate of Telstar High School in 1979.
He was a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for many saw mills in the area and then for Gould Academy in the Maintenance Department and then for the U.S. Forest Service maintaining U.S. Forest Service facilities and campgrounds until his retirement in 1993.
Mr. Cushing was a former member of the Bethel VFW and he loved the outdoors and his family and his cat "Romeo".
He was married in Rumford on November 25, 1955 to Frances Josephine Bailey who survives of Bethel, Maine. Other survivors include a daughter, Brenda and her husband, Major Chester Curtis, Jr. USAF of Springfield, VA; one son, William E. Cushing and his wife, Debbie of Bethel; two grandsons, Adam Curtis and Andrew Curtis of Springfield, VA; two sisters, Lorena Simmons of Andover and Thelma Remington of Bethel; and a brother, Edgar Cushing and his wife, Lila of Hancock.

James Dixwell Williams
RUMFORD -- James Dixwell Williams, 61, of 218 Pine St., died Wednesday, March 28 at his home, after a short illness with lung cancer.
He was born on July 26, 1939 in Portland, the son of Homer Lee and Eleanor Elizabeth Small Williams.He was educated in Rumford schools and attended Stephens High School.He served in the US Navy as a fireman recruit.
He married Marsha St. Cyr on October 24, 1959. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, painting and spending time with his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of Rumford; two daughters, Dawn Hinckley of Rumford, and Melissa and her husband, Robert Munzner of Rumford; three sons, James and his wife, Terri Williams of Mexico, David and his wife, Betsy Williams of Rumford, and Jeffrey and his wife, Michelle of Las Vegas, NV; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, David Williams of Arundel and Donald Williams of Pemaguid Point, ME.

Claude A. Quigley
GULFPORT, FLORIDA -- Quigley, Claude A., 81, of Gulfport, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at St. Petersburg General Hospital.
He came here in 1977 from his native Rumford, Maine, where he was a foreman for Oxford Paper Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War 11. He attended Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Rumford.
Survivors include his wife, Anita; a son, Timothy, North Attleboro, MA; and a sister, Arlene Wagner, Smithfield, R.I.
The services are under the direction of David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Crematory, Central Avenue Chapel, St Petersburg. Interment will be at Bay Pines National Cemetary.

Dennis "Denny" Edward Adams
PORTLAND -- Dennis "Denny" Edward Adams, 66, a lifelong resident of Wilton, died Wednesday morning, November 28, 2001, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was born Apr. 23, 1935, in Lewiston, the son of Harland E. and Jeanette (Watson) Adams. He attended Wilton schools, graduating from Wilton Academy in 1953.
Mr. Adams served in the Army for a short time before returning to Wilton when he married Susan Holmes on Sept. 29, 1956. That same year he went to work with his father operating the family gas station and garage in 1956.
He eventually took over Wilton Oil Co. from his father and continued to own and operate the garage until this year.
He was an avid football fan and helped start the area's Little League Football program in the early 1960's in which he coached and refereed for many years.
He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time at his camp on East Carry Pond as well as hunting, fishing, and smelting. He loved playing cards with the "local boys" and was a lifetime member of the "Pitch Parlor". He was also a member of the Farmington Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his parents Harland and Jeanette of Wilton; his wife of Susan of 45 years; one son, Edgar Adams and his wife Natalie of Wilton; two daughters, Denise Bell and her husband, Terry, Sr. of Farmington, and Deborah E. Tracy and her husband, Dale E. of East Wilton; mother-in-law Lola Holmes of Wilton; five grandchildren, Chad Bubier and his fiance, Sara Yeaton of Jay, Terry "T.J." Bell, Jr of Farmington, Amanda Bubier and her companion, David Holt of East Wilton, Derek and Dara Tracy of East Wilton; one great-grandchild, Rhylie Mae Bubier of Jay; three sisters, Gail Karkos and her husband, Lyle of Temple, Donna Cunnliffe and her husband, Eric of East Wilton, and Shirleen Dolder and her husband, Robert of NH; a sister in-law, Sally Eames of Livermore; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Maureen Bell.

Esther Searles
SABATTUS -- Esther Searles, 102, of Sabattus, formerly of Lewiston and Dixfield, died Sunday at the Sabattus Residential Care Center in Sabattus, where she had resided since 1996. She was formerly of Lewiston and Dixfield.
Born Oct. 27, 1899 in Weld, she was the daughter of Elmer and Leona (Pratt) Magoon. She received her education in local schools.
For 34 years she was employed at Stowell-MacGregor in Dixfield and for 20 years was a housekeeper in Auburn and Rumford. She was a member of the Monitor Chapter #72, Order of the Eastern Star, Dixfield.
She will be remembered as a dear person whose greatest enjoyment came from working. Until very recently, she would spend time working and helping in the kitchen at the residential care center.
She is survived by her grandson, Richard Gerald Tracy, Sr., and his wife, Rita Tracy of Lewiston; her granddaughter, Geraldine Peach of Oswego, NY; her brother in-law, Milton Vaughn and his wife, Mary of West Peru; her great grandson, Richard Gerald Tracy, Jr., and his wife, Diane of Livermore; three great-great grandchildren, Crystal Tracy, Katie Tracy and Richard Gerald Tracy III; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two husbands, Gerald Tracy and Fred Searles; an infant son, Malcom Tracy; and another son, Harland Tracy.
Following cremation at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Auburn, spring burial at the Demerritt Cemetery, West Peru.
Arrangements are in the care of the Wiles Funeral Home, Dixfield.

Margaret K. Thornton
RUMFORD -- Margaret L. Thornton, 79, died Sunday March 17, 2002 at her home on the South Rumford Road.
Born in Wilsons Mills, Maine on July 7, 1922, she was the daughter of Joseph and Yula L. (Hall) Stevens. She attended Gould Academy. She retired from Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Rumford in 1988.
She was a member of Mount Zircon Chapter 142, Order of Eastern Star and the Rumford Point Congregational Church.
She was married in Rumford, Maine on September 20, 1941 to the late William E. Thornton, Sr., who died in Rumford on May 25, 1976.
Survivors include her son, William Thornton, Jr. of Rumford; three daughters, Patricia Blake of Bethel, Sharon Samela of Waterbury, CT, and Margo Davis of Auburn, six brothers, Joseph of New Hampshire, Guy, Richard, Albert, Philip, Alfred, all of Massachusetts; three sisters, Beverly Parent of Vermont, Phyllis Whitman of MA and Sally Lebeer, 10 grandchildren, Brian and Harlan Blake, and Amy Wheeler of Bethel, Joseph and Margaret Thornton of Rumford, Sara Seckington and Jennifer Samela of CT, Todd Davis of Bethel, Ryan Davis of Rumford and Kate Davis of Auburn; and eight great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Bud; and two sisters, Alberta and Pauline.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday at the Rumford Point Congregational Church with Rev. Deborah Jenks officiating. Interment in the spring will be in the Abbots Mills Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with visitation at 7 p.m. Wednesday by Mt. Zircon Chapter 142 Eastern Star. Those who desire may contribute to a charity of their choice in her memory.

Ellis B. Quinn
DIXFIELD -- Ellis B. Quinn, 76, of 5 High Street, died Tuesday March 27 at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 5, 1924 in Orleans, MA, the son of Lester and Eva Ellis Quinn. He attended schools in Orleans.
During WW II, he served in the US Coast Guard as a Radioman 3rd Class. During the war, he received a commendation for his participation in the rescue of three men marooned on the Heinz Pier in Atlantic City, NJ.
Mr. Quinn owned and operated Central Package Store in Orleans for 40 years.He was a member of the Odd Fellows, American Legion, member and past President of the Oxford County Mineral and Gems Association, Lapidary Society,Oakdale Country Club in Mexico, ME, Brewster Country Club in Brewster, MA, and Dennis Country Club in Dennis, MA.
He was a past president of the Massachusetts Liquior Store Assn. He was a commercial pilot since 1950. He loved his family and he enjoyed flying and was an avid golfer.
He married Phyllis Andersson in September 11, 1983. He aided and assisted his wife with her duties in the Maine and Massachusetts Business Professional Woman's Club of USA.
He is survived by his loving wife of Dixfield; three daughters, Patricia Quinn of Melbourne, FL, Karen Heinemann of Grayson, GA, and Paula and her husband, Ross Ringheim of Chatham, MA; three stepdaughters, Diana Hogan of Dennisport, MA, Patti-Anne and her husband, Stephen Faucher of Shrewsbury, MA, and Arlette and her husband, Robert Robitaille of Lisbon Falls, Me.; one stepson, William Woodward of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren; three brothers, Warren Quinn and William Quinn, both of Orleans MA, and Leslie Quinn of Ft. Walton, FL.
He was predeceased by a brother, Howard Quinn.

Sylvia L. Cummings
WEST PARIS -- Sylvia L. Cummings, 87 died Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at her residence in West Paris, Maine.
Born in Greenwood, Maine on September 14, 1913, she was the daughter of Lester and Alberta (Elwell) Morgan. She was a graduate of West Paris High School and Gorham Normal School.
She was a school teacher at Patch Mountain School House, Richardson Hollow and Andrew's Four Corner School House. She worked in factories in the Norway/South Paris area and also for Western Older Citizen Councilas an Elder Advocat.
Mrs. Cummings was a member of the Deering Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and her beautiful voice will be missed. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women; the Euterpean Club; Norway Paris Senior Citizen Band. She received an Outstanding Citizen Award.
She was married in August of 1935 to the late Clarence C. Cummings, who died on May 19, 1990.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Cummings and his wife, June of Deery, NH; three daughters, Charmaine Penley and her husband, Albert, Jr., Lorraine Bailey and her husband, Jeffrey, and Mrs. Corrine Hammond, all of West Paris; one sister, Madge Bland of Norwich, CN; one sister in law, Lydia Smith of Clearwater, FL; eight grandchildren, Alan Bailey and his wife, Karen, Deana Abbott and her husband, Danny, and Douglas Penley, all of West Paris, Susan Ptak and her husband, Tom of Deery, NH, Wayne Cummings, Jr. and Cheryl Cummings of Clearwater, FL, Dawna Kazregis and her husband, Walter Kazregis of West Peru, and Carina Hammond of Portland, ME; eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Carla Bailey, and a son in law, Gerald Hammond.

Donald R. Cummings
RUMFORD -- Donald R. Cummings, 82, died on December 31, 2002 at the Rumford Hospital surrounded by his family. He was a resident of Highland Terrace in Mexico, ME.
Born on Sunnymead Farm in Oxford, ME, he was the son of Arthur and Nettie (Richards) Cummings. He was a graduate of Oxford High School.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1941 to 1946 as a Master Sergeant with the 36th Fighter Squadron. He worked for George Cummings Car Dealership and Joys Sales and Service until his retirement in 1981.
Mr. Cummings loved his farm and spent many hours in his wood lot with his four wheeler and ski doo. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children. For over 52 years he enjoyed his summer home at Worthley Pond. He loved all sports and especially loved going to his grandchildren's games.
He was one of the founders of Mexico Senior Housing Corporation and served as President for many years. He served time on the Mexico Water District and Budget Committee. He was one of the founders and a charter member of the Mexico Lion's Club.
He was also a 59-year member and past Master of Blazing Star Lodge 30 AF & AM Masonic Lodge. He was well known for his community service. He enjoyed helping his children raise horses and cows in his back fields.
He was married on June 6, 1945 in Victoria, Texas to Anita Richardson, who survives of Mexico. Other survivors include his son, Donald and his wife, Sharon Cummings of Mexico; three daughters, Cindy Dumas and her husband, Paul of Mexico, Pamela Stinson and her husband, Mark of Monmouth, and Mary Rumley and her husband, Gary of Rumford Point; his grandchildren, Aaron Cummings and his wife, Tracey of Mexico, Sarah Cummings of Mexico, Jarrod and Maia Dumas of Mexico, Jonathon and Katheryne Stinson of Monmouth, Kaylee and Gary Rumley, Jr. of Rumford Point; and two great grandchildren, Samantha and Katelyn Cummings of Mexico.
