Marcus Todd Arnold Sr. died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, in a hospital in Atlanta. He was 34.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. Harris Toney officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Hilda Bush
Hilda Bush died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, in a local hospital.
Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Aakeem Cagkler
Aakeem Dewayne Cagkler died Monday, April 10, 2000, at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He was 10.
Aakeem was a member of New Hope Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his father, Joseph Edward Wilson; mother, Lujennie Cagkler; grandparents, Ernestine and Dorris Cagkler, and Marilyn Wright; great-grandmother, Lena Hambrick, all of Chattanooga; two brothers, Rakeem Wilson, Chattanooga, and John Wilson, Sweetwater, Tenn., and two sisters, Nyshelle Boyd, Chattanooga, and Megan Brook, Sweetwater.
The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with Elder Walter Hamerick officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The body will be at the funeral home Monday after 9:30 a.m.

Emmett Carroll
Emmett G. Carroll of Harrison died Friday, April 14, 2000, at his home. He was 75.
Arrangements will be announced by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Fannie Contor
Fannie L. Hale Contor of Harrison died Friday, April 14, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 76.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Painter and the Rev. Robert Hale officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur (Tenn.) City Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from noon until the service at the funeral home.

Pearle Gordy
Pearle Mansell Gordy died Thursday, April 13, 2000, in a local nursing home.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Darryl L. Craft officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Brent Graves
Brent W. Graves died Friday, April 14, 2000. He was 28.
Mr. Graves was employed by Komatsu Corp. of Chattanooga.
Survivors include his parents, Wayne C. Graves and Sharon G. Graves, Chattanooga; a sister, Robyn R. Graves, Chattanooga; and two grandmothers, Hattie Massengale, Chattanooga, and Lena Graves, Jasper, Tenn.
The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. CST at Sequatchie Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from noon until 9 p.m. CST at the funeral home.

Alice Hargis
Alice "Tootsie" F. Hargis, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, in Charlotte, N.C. She was 79.
Arrangements will be announced by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends today from 2 to 9 p.m.

Evelyn Holloway
Evelyn Holloway died Friday, April 14, 2000. She was 83.
The funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Trivette officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

J.D. Hunter
J.D. Hunter died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 79.
Arrangements will be announced by Crombie-Pinkard Funeral Service.

Helen Jones
Helen Crombie Jones died Thursday, April 13, 2000, in a local health care facility. She was 79.
Arrangements will be announced by Crombie-Pinkard Funeral Service.

Martha Jones
Martha Eloise Barker Jones died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at her home. She was 89.
Mrs. Jones was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and the Joy Bible Class. She was retired from BellSouth after 35 years of service. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Ella Cosby Union of the WCTU and a life member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Frank Jones.
She is survived by two stepgranddaughters.
The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the West Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Nicholas and the Rev. Briggs King officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Joy or a favorite charity.
Visitation will be Monday from noon until the service at the funeral home.

Davis Lon
Davis Bill Lon died Saturday, April 14, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 72.
Mr. Lon was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as an engineer with 38 years of service. Mr. Lon was a member of the United Transit Union and a Protestant. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Merriam Davis; a son, Lonnie Davis, Chattanooga; two daughters, Dawn Buck, Jackson, Miss., and Rebecca Davis, Chattanooga; three sisters, Evelyn Lancaster, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., Wilma McWhorter, Chattanooga, and Martitia Beaver, Hixson, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with minister Eddie Reachard officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 5805 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

Evelyn Long
Evelyn Spears Long died Friday, April 14, 2000, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was 82.
Mrs. Long, a native of Marion County, Tenn., was a longtime resident of Chattanooga and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel V. Long.
Survivors include her son, David V. Long, Woodstock, Ga.; a sister, Winnie Spears Scates, Chattanooga; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jacob Lynch
Jacob Daniel Lynch, infant son of John David and Susan Renee Lynch of Soddy-Daisy, died Friday, April 14, 2000.
A private graveside service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Presbyterian Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Jump officiating.
There will be visitation at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, Soddy-Daisy.

Helen Olive
Helen Marie Dodson Olive died Friday, April 14, 2000. She was 84.
Mrs. Olive was a Maury County, Tenn., native. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Haylong High School and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution chapter in Mount Pleasant. Mrs. Olive was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Summertown, where she served as song leader for 30 years. She was a member of the Mount Pleasant and Hohenwald country clubs and served as president of the Lawrence County Home Demonstration Club. She was the widow of Edwin Floyd Olive Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Hyman S. "Jo Marie" Kugler, Trenton, Ga., and Linda Olive King, Lookout Mountain, Ga.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be today at 2:30 p.m. in Lawrence County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Phillip Wright officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.

William Schmits III
William H. "Rusty" Schmits III of Hixson died Thursday, April 13, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 46.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Keener officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from noon until the service at the funeral home.

Wynette Setliffe
Wynette A. Setliffe died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at her home. She was 90.
Mrs. Setliffe, a native of Everett Springs, Ga., had lived in Chattanooga for many years. She was a retired office manager for Lovemans department store. Mrs. Setliffe was supported the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Davis Setliffe.
Survivors include two daughters, Nora Kyle, Hixson, and Linda Young, Venus, Fla.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. George Glazier officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or the Book of Remembrance at Grace Episcopal Church.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bishop Barth Room of Grace Episcopal Church and Tuesday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Thomasine Stansell
Thomasine Martin Stansell of Chattanooga died Saturday, April 8, 2000, in Cobb County, Ga. She was 54.
The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Mason officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hubert Thomas
Hubert F. Thomas, a longtime resident of Red Bank, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 84.
The funeral will be today at 1:30 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Everett Gossett officiating.
Burial will be in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens Chapel of Devotion.

Jessie Marion Yager of Ooltewah died Thursday, April 13, 2000, in a local health care facility. She was 91.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Mary Zerwer
Mary Joyce Zerwer died Thursday, April 13, 2000, in a local hospital. She was 76.
Mrs. Zerwer was a native of Chicago and retired from Realty Center Better Homes and Gardens. She was the widow of Robert D. Zerwer.
Survivors include four daughters, Robin Ann Skillern, Baton Rouge, La., Leslie Jane Hutchins, Florida, Debora Lee Zerwer and Mary Elyn Zerwer, both of Hixson; a son, Richard Thomas Zerwer, Conyers, Ga.; a brother, Thomas Cole Williams; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Orange Grove Center, 615 Derby St., Chattanooga, TN 37404.
A memorial service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Canada officiating.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
