A funeral service for Jane N. Bigda, 93, took place on Monday, Oct. 16 at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Visitation was held on Sunday, Oct. 15 at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Interment was at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Ms. Bigda was born on Nov. 25, 1912. She was formerly a member of the Park Ridge community. She passed away on Oct. 11, 2006 in Fullerton, Ca.. Ms. Bigda is preceded in death by her husband harry. She is survived by her children Patricia (James) Borucki and Roger (Lea), grandchildren Linda, Steven, Kathryn, Patti, Darren and Christopher, and her 17 great-grandchildren.

LUELLA COBB
of Rolling Meadows
A funeral service and visitation for Luella Rose Cantrall Cobb took place Thursday, Oct. 19 at the Community Church of Rolling Meadows. Born Oct. 2, 1919 in Fancy Prairie, Ill. the daughter of Young Cantrall and Ruby Mershon, she died Sunday, Oct. 15. Ms. Cobb was raised in the Springfield, Ill. area, attending Springfield High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She received a four year scholarship to attend Illinois State University. After marrying John Cobb of White Heath, Ill., she finished her education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi. Here she received her Masters of Educa tion and an advanced certificate in Educational Psychology. Luella taught elementary classes many years in Springfield, before she and John moved back to Champaign where she began teaching English as a second language (ESL). She later traveled to Decatur on a daily basis and continued to teach ESL. Towards the end of the Vietnam War she and John decided to open their home to young, refugee Vietnamese boys. She and John took in 11. For this and many of her other accomplishments she was awarded the 1978 Human Relations Award from the Illinois Education Association. Luella was an avid member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She judged entries for the DAR scholarship awards for several years while in Champaign as a member and Regent of the Alliance Chapter there. Luella was preceded in death by her brother, Young Cantrall, her sister Ruth Kuizen, and her grandson Jeffrey. She is survived by her brother, William Cantrall, her sons Robert (Lorna) Cobb, Richard (Charlene) Cobb, and Douglas (Beth) Cobb. Also mourning are eleven foster sons and families, her five grandchildren, her three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the Community Church of Rolling Meadows. Funeral arrangements made by Meadows Funeral Home.

JACEK B. CWYNAR
of Mt. Prospect
A funeral service for Jacek B. Cwynar, 34, of Mt. Prospect took place on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. A mass followed at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was held on Thursday, Oct. 19 and Friday, Oct. 20 at the funeral home. Interment was at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Mr. Cwynar was born on Jan. 4, 1972 in Tarnow, Poland. He was a machinist in a factory. He died on Oct. 14, 2006 at Northwest Community Hospital. Mr. Cwynar is survived by his parents Pawel and Romana Cwynar, sister Renata, and grandmother Anna (Eugeniusz) Banek. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins in the Mezyk, Banek, Spala, Szafran, and Kapustka families.

ESTELLE T. DYJAK
of Niles
A funeral service for Estelle T. Dyjak, 89 was held at St. Tarcissus church. Visitation was at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. An additional service took place on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Interment at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Ms. Dyjak was born on December 18, 1916 in Chicago. She passed away Monday, Oct. 16 at Lutheran General Hospital. Ms. Dyjak is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Anna (nee Michno) Dyjak. She is survived by her siblings Helen (the late Alexander) Kolinski, Edward Dyjak, Jo (the late Edward) Sanborn, and Walter (Rose) Dyjak, her nieces Donna Kolinski and Debbie (Tom) Diaz, and her grand nieces and nephews Rita, Monica, and Anthony. She was cousin and friend of many.

ALVIN GETZ
of Park Ridge
A funeral service for Alvin Getz, 83, took place on Friday, Oct. 20, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation was held on Thursday, Oct. 19, at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Mr. Getz was born in Benton Harbor, Mich. He died on Tuesday, Oct. 17. He was survived by his beloved wife Patricia (nee Bartell), his sons Michael (Linda), David, Jeffrey (Becky), Daniel (Gwen), and Robbie Getz, grandchildren Kelli, Jillane, Kiley, Ashley, Atalie, Austin, Cody, Emma, Molly, and Lily. He was preceded in death by his sisters Sarah, Dorothy, Ester, Helen, and Marilyn. In lieu of flowers, donations to Midwest Hospice Care Center, at 2050 Claire Crt., Glenview, IL 60025 are appreciated.

MATHILDA P. GRAHAM

A funeral service for Mathilda P. Graham, 76, took place Friday, Oct. 20 at the Chapel of the Severino's River Woods Funeral Chapels. Mrs. Graham was interred at All Saints Cemetery. Born Nov. 15, 1929, Mrs. Graham spent her life as a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She found great fun in visiting the Riverboat Casinos. She passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Alexian Bros. Medical Center. Mrs. Graham was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Idell Mark, and her husband Robert. She is survived by her children, Bobby (Lori) Graham, Jimmy (Hanna) Graham, Joseph (Cora) Graham, Jack (Gillea) Graham, Mary Graham, Betty Graham, Ray Graham, Martin Graham, Barbara Graham, Jodi Graham, Bonnie (Rob) Cook, Madilyn (Mike) Syperski, Lillian (Don) Hughes, and Evelyn (Junior) Long. She is also survived by 120 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Procession to St. James Church for a mass at 10 a.m. Interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. Visitation will take place 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26 at Friedrichs Funeral Home. Concetta was born Dec. 17, 1917 in Montreal. She worked for Benefit Trust Life Co. in Chicago. She loved to cook and write poetry. She passed away at her home on Friday, Oct. 20. She is preceded in death by her husband Carmen Guido, her parents Maria (nee Falcone) and Michael Savino, her siblings Joseph Savino, Rena Baez, Matthew Savino, Nicholas Savino, and Frank Savino. She is survived by her siblings Anthony (Annette) Savino, Virginia (the late Peter) Panza, Mary (Bob) Romero, her grandchildren Vincent Murphy and Natalie Murphy, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Liza Michele Hoare, 40, of Arlington Heights, took place Friday, Oct. 20 at Severino's River Woods Funeral Chapels in Des Plaines. Visitation was on Friday until the service at the funeral home. Ms. Hoare was born on May 15, 1966 in Riverview, Mich. She worked in sales in the retail industry. She was also a longtime resident of Palatine. She died on Oct. 15, 2006 at her home. Ms. Hoare is survived by her parents, Trevor R. and Patricia A., son Tyler John, sisters Andora Rissmann and Cynthia Dougherty, and nieces and nephews Katie and Cameron.

ROGER JUNEMAN
of Elk Grove Village
A funeral service for Roger Michael Juneman, 65, was held Tuesday, Oct. 17 at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Visitation took place on Monday, Oct. 16 at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery. Mr. Juneman was born on May 17, 1941 in Crookston, Minn. He lived in Elk Grove and was also a former resident of Park Ridge. He died on Oct. 13, 2006 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Mr. Juneman is survived by his mother Florence (the late Ralph), wife Karen, children Kris (Elgin) Watson and Michael (Christine), grandchildren John Watson, Sean, T.J., and Megan Juneman, brother Don (Gloria) Juneman, parents-in-law Martha Messerchmidt and Thomas T. Tobin, brother-in-laws Michael and Thomas Tobin, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Misericordia Home or Cystic Fibrosis.

A funeral service for Jose "Joe Elvis" Martinez, 55, of Carol Stream, took place on Wednesday, Oct. 25. The interment will be private. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the G.L. Hills Funeral Home. Mr. Martinez was born on May 31, 1951, in Cotulla, Texas. He died on Sunday, Oct. 22, in Elgin. He worked for Central Phone Company of Des Plaines, and was known as "Joe Elvis." Mr. Martinez was survived by his children Brandon (Virginia) Martinez, Annemarie (Rich) Biesaga, and Kelly Martinez. He was also survived by his grandchildren Richie, Lina, Tiffany, Jocelyn, Mairanda, and Brandon, his brothers Pete (Gigi) and Julio, and his sisters Angelita, Mary, and Gloria Martinez. He was preceded in death by his brother Kino Martinez, and sisters Sandy (Jose) Halguin, and Rosemarie Martinez.

RICHARD R. MULCAHY
of Rolling Meadows
A funeral mass for Richard R. Mulcahy, 81 of Rolling Meadows was held Oct. 19 at St. Colette Church. Visitation was Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. He was interred at St. Michael Cemetery in Palatine. Born May 22, 1925 in Fall River, Mass., Mr. Mulcahy worked for Bambas Book Co. in Des Plaines for over 30 years. He was a also U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He died Tuesday, Oct. 17 in Barrington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Mulcahy and his brother John Mulcahy. He is survived by is his children Thomas M. (Pam) Mulcahy and Ann E. (Robert) Rife, his siblings George Mulcahy, Charles Mulcahy, Buddy Mulcahy, and Mary Vangal, his grandchildren Matthew Rife, Joshua (Rachel) Rife, and Kathy Rife, and his great-grandchildren Tyler A. Rife. He was special friend to Carole Patrick.

MARGARET K. MURNINGHAN

A funeral procession for Margaret K. Murninghan (nee Keith), 84, of Park Ridge took place from Ryan-Parke Funeral Home in Park Ridge to Mary Seat of Wisdom Church, also of Park Ridge. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. A 1944 graduate of Northwestern University, Mrs. Murninghan died Tuesday, Oct. 24 in her home. She is preceded in death by her husband John "Jack" Murninghan. She is survived by children Keith (Beth Keegan) Murninghan, Kevin (Hannah) Murninghan, Tom (the late Nan) Murninghan, and Peggy (Phil Hogg) Murninghan, dear sister Mary (John) Stoneman, devoted grandchildren Jack, Erik (Hillary), Conner, Matt, Kate, Ben, J.P., Ryan, Maggy, Annie and William, great grandchildren Lola, Lars, and Billy, fond sister-in-law Francine Janis, and her dearest nieces and nephews. Born in Chicago, Mr. Novak was a long time employee of Bisco. He died Thursday, Oct. 19 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Anna M. Novak, loving father of Timothy (Robin) Novak and Cheryl (Thomas) Stoltman, cherished grandfather of Jim Novak, Pam Novak, Tom Novak, Isabel Novak, and Amber Travelstead, and great-grandfather of three. She is survived by her son Dale (Susan), grandchild Michael Dale, great-grandchild Michael Lawrence, and siblings Pauline Garber, Marie Pollack, Rose Skarlose, Lillian Skarlose and Anne Davis. LEONARD SZYMANSKI
of Niles
A funeral service for Leonard Szymanski, 79, took place on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m. The service continued at 10 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Born in Chicago, Mr. Szymanski died on Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Forest Villa Nursing Home. He worked as a mechanical engineer in research and development, and also served in the Navy. Mr. Szymanski was survived by his son Leonard (Gina) Szymanski, his daughter Sharon (fiancee William) Brooks, and grandchildren Abigail and Thomas. He was also survived by his step grandchildren Nicole and Ryan, and nephews Steven and Joseph, and niece Jayne. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary, and father Walter Szymanski. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association are appreciated.

A funeral service for Robert W. Durham, 80, of Rolling Meadows, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, Nov. 10 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Durham was born on April 29, 1926 in Chicago. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army. He worked as a tub salesman and was a member of the Merle Guild American Legion Post 208, Arlington Heights. He died on Nov. 6, 2006. Mr. Durham is preceded in death by his brother Warren (Marilyn). He is survived by his wife Catherine, children Cynthia (Glenn) Rogers and Jeffrey Durham, siblings Raymond (Mildred, Kenneth, George, Jacky, Leonard, and Loren (Alice) Durham, as well his 22 nieces and nephews.

Ms. Engelund, the beloved daughter of the late Peter and Antonia Engelund, was a retired Chicago public school teacher.

Funeral services for Sally B. Foggia, 88, of Niles took place Friday, Nov. 3 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and St. Juliana Church. Visitation was the preceding day. Interment at All Saints Mausoleum. Ms. Foggia was born April 23, 1918. A homemaker, she was a former member of the St. Juliana Church and the St. Juliana Church Womanıs Guild. She passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Lutheran General Hospital. Mrs. Foggia was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Perkovich, and her father. She is survived by her husband, John A. Foggia, her son John (Chris) Foggia, her grandchildren Juli (James) Comfort, Jeannie Foggia, John Foggia, and Jennifer Foggia, and her great grandchildren Amanda Comfort and Samantha Comfort.

DR. JAMES E. GEARIEN
Of Des Plaines
Dr. James E. Gearien, formerly of Park Ridge, 87, died of natural causes on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at his home. He was born in central Illinois, where he grew up. He was a resident of Des Plaines and Park Ridge for the past 49 years. Dr. Gearien taught in the U.I.C. College of Pharmacy for 40 years. He was a professor and also head of the Dept. of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy at the time of his retirement in the fall of 1988. A 1941 U.I.C. pharmacy alumni, he also held Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan. He was a member of Sigma Xi Scientific Honorary Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and was active in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. He was the author of several textbooks and more than one hundred other publications and was a chairman of the Division of Medicinal Chemistry of the American Chemical Society and the Academy of Pharmaceutical Science. Dr. Gearien is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Gray Gearien, and their children, James Jr. and Anne (Mark) Mintzer. Services private. Funeral arrangements made by G.L. Hills Funeral Home.

LESTER M. GLOVER
Of Rolling Meadows
A funeral service for Lester M. Glover, 85, of Rolling Meadows, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Glover was born on Nov. 11, 1920 in Brookhaven, Miss. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corp. He worked for the FAA as an electronics engineer and later helped his son in the heating and air conditioning business. He died on Nov. 4, 2006 at his home. Mr. Glover is preceded in death by his wife Edna "Goodie". He is survived by his children Monte (Debbie) and Craig (Kyna), grandchildren Christine (Christopher) Sawyer, Daniel, Matthew, Monica, Apron, Brynn, Taylor and Sullivan Glover, and great-grandchildren Ethan and Luke Sawyer. A funeral service for Barbara B. Gore, 77, of Arlington Heights, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 at The Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights. Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 18 from noon until time of service. Ms. Gore was born on Sept. 10, 1929 in Chicago. She was formerly of Long Grove and Park Ridge. She was a member of the Chicago Bontonical Garden, the Long Grove Historical Society, and the Long Grove Garden Club. She died on Nov. 3, 2006 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Ms. Gore is preceded in death by her parents Otto and Harriet Harz. She is survived by her children Susan (Joe) Rizzi and Alan (Dawn) Gore, grandchildren Joseph III and Nicholas Rizzi, Whitney Baldwin, Phillip, Maggie and Payton Gore, and brother Norbert (Arlene) Harz. Mrs. Hill was born June 22, 1935 in Vilno, Poland (now Lithuania) to Irena and Wlodzimierz Mandryk. She passed away Friday, Nov. 5 at her sonıs home. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hill, and her daughter-in-law, Keri Hill. She is survived by her son, Tomasz (Sharon) Goral, her sister Irena Kutbay, her brother Miroslaw (Jagoda) Progress, her stepson Michael Hill and stepdaughter Karen (Will) Slawson, her niece, Monika Lisowska, her nephew Attila Kutbay, and her grandchildren Jasio Goral, Alek Goral, Brian Hill, and Nicole Slawson.

Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Mrs. Kerz was born Sept. 8, 1912 in Chicago. She passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Se was preceded in death by her husband Frank P. Kerz and her sisters Catherine Hart, Mary (the late Lewis), Schmidt, and Alice (the late Gene) Ryan. She is survived by her children Nancy E. Kerz and John J.
