Geneva Selby Kinnett
Geneva Selby Kinnett, 86, Russell Springs, long time member of Hayes Chapel United Methodist Church and former employee of the Lakewood Country Club, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2000, at Russell County Hospital.
She was the widow of Earl Kinnett. Geneva was born in Russell County on December 28, 1913 to the late Kathleen Kean Selby and Clarence A. Selby.
Survivors include two brothers Cordell Selby, Anderson, Indiana and Rollin Selby, Louisville, Kentucky; and three nephews Darrell Selby, Mark Selby and Mike Selby.
Geneva was preceded in death by a daughter Sharon Rae Kinnett; and sister Evelyn Selby and three brothers, Carson Selby, Curtis Selby and Kenneth Selby.
Services were held Friday, January 5, 2001 in the chapel of Rippetoe Funeral Home, with Bro. Boyce Houk and Bro. Dennis Crump officiating.
Burial was in Grider Cemetery.
Rippetoe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangments.

Osby Harris
Osby Harris, 97, Parks Ridge Road, died January 10, 2001 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was the son of the late John Abe and Amanda Jane Flanagan Harris.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Rova Mae Harris, Russell Springs; three children, Gile Harris and Hugh Harris, both of Russell Springs and Joyce Holder, North Vernon, Indiana; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one step-grandchild; three step great grandchildren; and three step great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cosby Harris, Novalo Harris; and two sisters Alta Tucker and Affie Farmer.
Services were held Saturday, January 12, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cleveland Johnson and Bro. Richie Curtis officiating.
Burial was in Parks Ridge Cemetery.
Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

George Wilson Gies
George Wilson Gies, son of Laura and Chris Cies was still born on January 12, 2001 in Batesville, Indiana.
Grandparents are Ted and Ruth Netherton and Al and Rosalee Geis of Batesville, Indiana.
Great-grandparents were the late George and Mary Wilson of the Gosser Ridge Community.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 15, 2001 at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville, Indiana.

Richard Wells
Richard Wells, 64, who resided in New Albany, died Sunday morning at his January 14, 2001 at his residence.
He was a native of Jamestown, a Boilermaker with Local #40 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky; an Air Force Veteran, member of the Bonnie Sloan American Legion Post #28 in New Albany and Georgetown Community Church in Georgetown, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife, the former Edna Brown, New Albany, Indiana; one son Ricky Wells, New Albany, Indiana; two daughters, Regina Wells, New Albany, Indiana and Sheila Goss, Georgetown, Indiana; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son Rocky Wells.
Services were held Wednesday, January 17, 2001 11:00 a.m. at Kraft Chapel in New Albany, Indiana.
Burial was in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

Weldon J. Malone
Weldon J. Malone, 66, Noblesville, Indiana died Saturday, January 13, 2001 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.
He was born January 4, 1935 in Jamestown, to the late W.S. Malone and the late Lillie (Collins) Malone.
He was an employee of Firestone Industrial Products, Noblesville for twenty-nine years, retired in 1995 in the calendar department. He also worked for Jack's Pizza for five years in Noblesville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, United Steel Workerrs Local #138 and a former member of Moose Lodge #540 and American Legion Post in Noblesville, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Murray Malone, Noblesville, Indiana; one daughter and son-in-law Kim and Steve Cook, Noblesville, Indiana; one son and daughter-in-law Greg and Shari Malone, Noblesville, Indiana; two brothers, Norman Malone, Jamestown and Teddy Malone, Liberty, Kentucky; one sister, Ruby Murray, Jamestown; one grandson, Matthew Cook, Noblesville, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, January 16, 2001 and Randall and Roberts Funeral Home, 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Lowe, officiating.
Burial was in Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville, Indiana.

Zilma Shepherd
Zilma Shepherd, 86, Russell Springs, died Thursday, January 11 at Russell County Hospital.
She was the widow of Arvest Shepherd.
She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister-in-law Francis Hart; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sunday, January 14, 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Rippetoe Funeral Home with Bro. Larold Gosser and Bro. Cleveland Johnson officiating.
Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Rippetoe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangments.

Charles L. Mills
Charles L. Mills, 65, Jamestown, died Monday, January 8, 2001 at his home.
He was a veteran of the United States marine Corp. serving during the korean War. He was retired from the Haynes International Corporation in Kokomo, Indiana were he worked as a Consart Operator.
Survivors include his wife Cordella Jane Wells Mills; two sons, Charles Mills, Jr., Lexington, Kentucky and Jim Mills, Jamestown; three daughters, Amanda Goff and Maria Rodich, both of Noblesville, Indiana and Lisa Gorman, Noblesville, Indiana; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, January 11, 2001, 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Rippetoe Funeral Home.
Burial was in Jamestown City Cemetery with military rites.
Rippetoe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

David C. Glenn
David C. Glenn, Noblesville, Indiana, died Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.
He was born May 31, 1937 in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Robert Glenn and Lorene Cowles Coverdale who survives.
He was an employee of Tri Con Light Weight Concrete Co., Finisher. Retired 1999.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Glenn, Noblesville, Indiana; two daughters, Elizabeth Glenn, Jamestown, Kentucky and Patricia Glenn, Newport, Kentucky; three sons, Jason Glenn and Robert Glenn, both of Noblesville, Indiana and David Glenn, Jr., Jamestown, Kentucky; six step sons, Greg Needler, Cicero, Indiana, Rick Cowan, Tim Cowan, Jeff Needler, John Needler and Kevin Needler, all of Noblesville, Indiana; two step daughters, Priscilla Nuckols, Noblesville, Indiana and Melody Simpson, Jamestown; three brothers, Buddy Coverdale and Charles Coverdale, both of Noblesville, Indiana and Eugene Glenn, Brownsville, Indiana; two sisters, Loretta Dowden, Noblesville, Indiana and Mary Loy, Cicero, Indiana; twenty-four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, January 26, 2001, 2:00 p.m. at Randall and Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville, Indiana, with Rev. Richard Bell officiating.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Noblesville, Indiana.

Daris U. Foley
Daris U. Foley, 85, Fair Oaks Nursing Home, died Sunday, January 2, 2000 at Fair Oaks.
He was born November 28, 1914 in Russell Springs to the late B.E. Foley and the late Sarah (Bernard) Foley.
He was Post Master for 30 years, retired June 30, 1975. He was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Nina Foley, four daughters Darlene (widow of Ben Patton) Cincinnati, Ohio, Jacqueline Jenkins (widow of Darrold Jenkins), Sarah (Jimmy) Wilkerson and Vivian (Rudy) Flanagan, all of Jamestown; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, January 5, 11:00 a.m. at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Rev. Donald Hatton officiating.
Burial was in Jamestown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dennis Selby, Eric Selby, Lewis Wilkerson, Dan Franklin, Brett McQueary, and Jimmy Heathman.
Donations in memory are to be made the Jamestown United Methodist Church.
H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapels was in charge of arrangements.

Kermit Mann
Kermit Mann, 88, Jamestown, died Sunday, January 9, 2000 at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown.
He was born in Creelsboro, September 2, 1911 to the late Claude Mann and the late Pearlie (Thurston) Mann.
He was a city clerk for sixteen years, a restaurant owner for eight years and a member of the Jamestown Nazarene Church.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Buster) Mann; one son Billy Mann, Jamestown; one daughter Brenda Weston, Brooks, Kentucky; one sister Florence Campbell, Jamestown; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday12, 2000, 1:00 p.m., at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Bro. Richard Morgan officiating.
Burial was in Jamestown Cemetery.

Cosby Gosser
Cosby Gosser, 86, Russell Springs, died Thursday, January, 13, 2000 at Russell County Hospital.
He was born May 11, 1913 in Russell County to the late Cordelia Chumbley Gosser and the late John William Gosser.
He was a farmer, a member of Cedar Springs United Baptist Church and a veteran of US Army serving in WWII.
He is survived by his wife Gertrude Gosser, Russell Springs; five sons Roger (Marilyn) Gosser, Indianapolis, Indiana, Randy (Margaret) Gosser, Fairfield Glades, Tennessee, Les (Gail) Gosser, Russell Springs, Gilbert (Linda) Gosser, Somerset, Kentucky and Lanny Gosser, Tateville, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; five step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and five step great grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, January 15, 2000, 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Springs United Baptist Church with Rev. Edward Bradley officiating.
Burial was in Cedar Springs Cemetery.
Special music was provided by the church choir.
Pallbearers were Matt Gosser, Darrin Gosser, Doyle Rexroat, Royce Dick, Allen Gosser and Scott Gosser.

Levona Wilson
Levona Wilson, 88, Russell Springs, died January 13, 2000 at Fairoaks Nursing Home, Jamestown.
She was a homemaker and member of Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Juliza Stephens Tucker and one daughter Velijean Wilson.
She is survived by her husband Arnold Wilson, Russell Springs; two daughters Deva Roy Stonecypher and Reva Roy, both Russell Springs; three sons Hearl Wilson, Brooks, Kentucky, Onza Wilson, Lexington, Kentucky and Edsol Wilson, Indianapolis, Indiana; two brothers Orvis Tucker, Russell Springs and Amon Tucker, Somerset, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of step-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday, January 16, 2000, 1:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Garlin Wilson officiating.
Burial was Pine Grove Cemetery on Gosser Ridge.
Pallbearers were Lacy Roy, Owen Neal Roy, Shane Roy, Larry Neal Roy, Nicholas Roy and Derek Wilson.
Special music was presented by Curtis and Mildred Wilson and Hartsell Hodges.

Hollan Stanton
Hollan Stanton, 83, died Friday, January 14 [2000] at Russell County Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Emma Foley Stanton; three daughters Claudette McGowan, Russell Springs, Martha Foster and Nancy Foster, both of Columbia; two sons Gary Stanton, Columbia and Larry Stanton, Russell Springs; two brothers, Alvin Stanton, Edinburg, Indiana and Elvin Stanton, Hartford City, Indiana; one sister Beaulah Faye Evans, Anderson, Indiana; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday, January 16, 2000, 1:30 p.m. at New Victory Baptist Church with Bros. Cleveland Johnson and Carroll Egnew officiating.
Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Special music was provided by Bro. and Mrs. Egnew.
Pallbearers were grandsons.

Belva Wilson
Belva Wilson, 89, Russell Springs, died Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at Russell County Hospital.
She was born in Russell County, November 28, 1910 to the late Affie Dunbar Meece and the late Terry Meece.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Union Independent Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Maxine Roy.
She is survived by one son Lewell Wilson, Russell Springs; three daughters Gladys Cravens, Columbus, Georgia; Mattigene Gaskins and Lou Roy, both of Russell Springs; one brother Garnett Meece, Russell Springs; two sisters Velna Stephens and Faye Popplewell, both of Russell Springs; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and ten great great grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, January 7, 2000, 1:00 p.m. at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Love.
Burial was in Union Cemetery.
Special music was provided by J.B. and Brenda Root and Donna Floyd.
Pallbearers were Freddie Roy, Barry Roy, Rick Cravens, Joey Wilson, Greg Wilson and Reggie Roy.

Marie Holt Kilpatrick
Marie Holt Kilpatrick, 80, died Sunday, January 16, 2000 at Russell County Hospital.
She was the widow of Bill Kilpatrick.
She is survived by four daughters, Barbra Bradshaw, Joyce Barnes, Doris Jean Hadley, all of Russell Springs and Janice Snow, Jamestown; four grandchildren; Ricky Barnes, Glenna Hubbard, Sherrie Malone and Darrin Hadley; seven great grandchildren; one brother Bobby Holt; two sisters, Helen Richards, Russell Springs and Margaret Walls, Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
Services were held Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at the Chapel of Rippetoe Funeral Home, with Bros. Carroll Egnew, Brian Janes and Bobby Sexton.
Special music was provided by Bobby and Ida Holt.
Burial was in Russell Springs Cemetery.
