Alford Holt
Alford Holt, 75, a native of Russell Springs, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001 at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louis-ville.
He was a retired employee of the Louisville Chair Co.
He was the son of Lawrence Holt and the former Nannie Helms Holt.
Survivors include his companion, Carrie Skaggs; one niece, Cheri Delaney; three nephews, Gene Holt, Dean Holt and Roger Holt; and one sister-in-law, Geraldine Holt.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Grider Family Ceme-tery in Russell Springs.
Rippetoe Funeral Home in Russell Springs was in charge of the local arrangements.

Mindy J. Passmore
Mindy J. Passmore, 28, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001 in Nobelsville, Ind.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Joe Passmore; her parents, Hobert W. Bell and Christene Bell of Russell Springs; two sisters, Deloise Ann Swinford of Nobelsville, Ind. and Kathryn Marie Davidson of Russell Springs; and one brother, Hobert W. Bell, Jr. of Russell Springs. Seven nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 in the chapel of Rippetoe Funeral Home.
Interment was in the Jamestown City Cemetery.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Mindy Passmore Funeral Fund, which can be made at Rippetoe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 279, Russell Springs, KY 42642.

Charles T. Walter
Charles T. Walter, 55, of Russell Springs, died Friday, Oct. 12 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a field representative for the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Mae Johnson Walter; one daughter, Sandy Nelson; one son, Timmy Egly; one sister, Sharon Kay Hall of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, William King of James-ville, Wisc.; his mother, Francis Snow of Indianapolis; three stepbrothers, Fred Snow, Bob Snow and Mike Snow; and one stepsister, Phyllis Snow.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 15 in the chapel of Rippetoe Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Dunbar and Bro. Roger Wheat officiating.
Interment was in the Bernard Cemetery, where military rites were conducted.

Montana Fayth Grider
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip and Kim Grider of Russell Springs would like to announce the arrival of their baby girl Montana Fayth. Montana was born on June 14.
She weighed 6 lbs. and 9.5 oz and was 18-3/4 inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Daryl and Laretta Pierce of Russell Springs. Maternal great-grandparents are Bill and Sarah Perdue of Russell Springs.
Paternal grandparents are Phillip and Mary Grider of Russell Springs.

Thelma M Flegle
Thelma M. Flegle, 79 formerly of Bullitt County, passed away Monday at Ridge Terrace in Madisonville, KY.
She was the former Thelma Chumbley, a native of Jamestown and a member of Little Flock Baptist Church in Shepherdsville.
Her husband, Maurice E. Flegle Sr., a daughter, Nancy Dwyer and two brothers, Omri and James Chumbley preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Maurice E. Flegle Jr. and Shirley of Slaughters; three sisters, Louise Reynolds and Carolyn Dixon, both of Shepherdsville, Larry and Carson Chumbley of Louisville and Morris Chumbley of Somerset; four granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday at Maraman Billings in Shepherdsville with Bro. Ron Shaver officiating.
Interment was in the Hebron Cemetery in Shepherdsville.
Memorial gifts may be sent to the Bardstown Junction Baptist Church Youth Van.

Ravin D.Andrew
Ravin D. Andrew, 59, passed away Saturday, March 9, at the Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. He was a Builder/Developer in the housing industry and a former Russell Springs Appliance Dealer.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Andrew, Bowling Green, two daughters, Melinda Andrew, Bowling Green, and Angela Andrew, Lexington, his mother, Bessie Andrew, Franklin, IN, two brothers, Richie Andrew, Russell Springs, and Rastie Andrew, Jamestown, three sisters, Rena Harris and Rella Smith, both of Russell Springs, and Rosetta Shepherd, Franklin, IN and two grandchildren, Joshua and Kali Andrew, Bowling Green.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Reba Davis and Regina Reeder.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 12 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. David Brown officiating.
Interment was in the Russell County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Lowell Cummings, Scott Wells, Jason Cooper, Chris Back, Barry Back, and Shawn Andrew.
Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Linda Pettyjohn
Linda Pettyjohn, 53, passed away Saturday, March 9, at the Russell County Hospital. She was a retired teacher’s aide and a member of the Fairview Separate Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Pettyjohn, one son, Jeffrey (Terri) Pettyjohn, Bowling Green, and one daughter, Marcy (Patrick) Baldwin, Lexington, her mother, Eva Wooldridge, Russell Springs, one brother, Leon (Mary Ann) Wooldridge, Russell Springs, and one sister, Brenda (David) Morgan, Russell Springs and two nieces, Emily and Suzanne Grider, both of Russell Springs.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 13 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Coffey officiating.
Interment was in the Wooldridge Cemetery.
Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

James C. Post
James C. Post, 77, passed away Thursday, March 7, at the Russell County Hospital. He was a retired factory worker and a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Post, Russell Springs, two sons, James and David Post, both of Pennsylvania, one daughter, Audrey Jean Jones, New York, and one step son, Larry Wayne Burton, Russell Springs and two sisters, Bonnie Dunsenbury, Ohio, and Carolyn Post, Baltimore, Maryland.
Graveside services were Saturday, March 9 with Bro. Frank Merrill officiating.
Interment was in the Free Union Cemetery.
Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

George Marshall Gray
George Marshall Gray, 84, Russell Springs, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, in Cold Springs, KY. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Parks Ridge Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Irin Gray, Russell Springs, five sons, Ken Gray, Silver Grove, KY, Phil Gray, Cincinnati, OH, Harry Hanlon, Russell Springs, Mike Hanlon, St. Petersburg, FL, Marshall Gray, Jr. Alexandria, KY and three daughters, Olive June Gray, Cincinnati, OH, Jackie Barrs, Ft. Pierce, FL, and Patty Dempsey, Cold Springs, KY, two sisters, Lucy Brown, Whitesburg, KY, Gertrude Greene, Washington, 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 9th at the Parks Ridge Church of God with Bro. Mike McQueary officiating. Special Music was provided by Starlene Foley and Todd Baird.
Interment was in the Parks Ridge Cemetery.

Sarah Emerson
Sarah Emerson, 89, Russell Springs, passed away Tuesday, March 5 at the Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, James T. (Debby) Emerson, Richmond, one brother, Oda Emerson, Cincinnati, OH, two sisters, Odessa Allen, Cincinnati, OH, Sue (Bob) Rouse, Cincinnati, OH. four grandchildren, A.D. (Linda) Wilkerson, Debra (Greg) Wade, Michael (Tonya) Emerson, Joy Emerson (Jerry) Poynter, one son-in-law, Hugh (Anna Faye) Wilkerson, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great great children.
She was preceded in death by one son, Alva Emerson, and one daughter, Lucille Emerson Wilkerson.
Funeral services were Friday, March 8th in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Greene and Bro. Monroe Robertson officiating. Special music was provided by June Gaskins, Sherry Redmon, Janice Popplewell, and Gary Emerson.
Interment was in the Poplar Grove Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers were Estes Emerson and Ivan Emerson. Active pallbearers were J.S. Emerson, Charles Emerson, Bodie Emerson, Gary Emerson, Don Emerson and Glen Allen.

Elberteen Jackson
Elberteen Jackson, 78, Russell Springs, passed away Friday, March 7th at his residence. He was a retired factory worker.
He is survived by one brother, Curtis Hill, Cincinnati, OH and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 12 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Dewey Cooper officiating.
Interment was in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Cox, Greg Cox, Eddie Stephens, Danny Hill, Rusty Hill, and Tony Hill.

Mary Haynes
Mary Haynes, 92, Russell Springs, formerly of Dayton, OH, passed away Thursday, March 7th at the Russell County Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lutheran faith.
She is survived by one son, Pastor Fred Haynes, Russell Springs.
Funeral services and interment were in Dayton, OH.

Ruth Jean Wilson, 78, formerly of Russell County passed away Tuesday, March 5th in Louisville.
She is survived by her husband, Lowrey Wilson and one son, Phillip Wilson, both of Louisville, one sister, Clarice Willliams, Lexington, two nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services were Thursday, March 7th at the Highland Funeral Home in Louisville.
Local services were graveside Friday, March 8th at the Russell Springs Cemetery.
H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel was in charge of local arrangements.

Imogene Willis Burton
Imogene Willis Burton, 70, Columbia, KY, passed away on Saturday, May 18 at the Summit Manor Nursing Home after several months of illness. She was a retired sewing machine operator and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Arnie Lee and Doshie Goodin Willis of Adair County.
She is survived by two sons, Dale (Cindi) Burton and Jimmy D. (Teresa) Burton, both of Columbia, three daughters, Judy Gail ( Louie) Beard and Janie Burton, both of Columbia, and Jana Lynn (Rev. Kenneth) Jessee, Radcliff, KY, and one sisiter-in-law, Gladys Redmon Willis, Columbia, nine grandchildren, and a special caretaker and friend, Bessie Grasham, Columbia.
Funeral services were Monday, May 20 in the chapel of the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Atwell and Rev. Kenneth Jessee officiating.
Interment was in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers were Bobby Burton, Donald Gene Burton, Tommy Burton, Cordell Coomer, George Howard, Earl Keltner and Johnnie Rooks. Active Pallbearers were Harold Burton, Joey Burton, Roger Burton, Kenneth “Munk” Cook, Ralph Curry and James Willis.
Expression of sympathy may take the formof a donation to the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Charles Canada, 62, Bellevue, KY passed away on Saturday, May, 18.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Canada, Bellevue, one son, Allen Canada, Bellevue, KY, two daughters, Paula Gross, Tempe, AZ. and Hope Canada, Bellevue, KY. two brothers, D.C. Canada, Loveland , OH. and Bruce Canada, Amelia, OH., one sister, Virginia Scales, Russell Springs, KY. and a host of neices and nephews.
Funeral services were Wednesday at the McCreary Funeral Home in Whitley City.

Mitchell Brown, 56, Bernard Ridge passed away Saturday, May 18 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green after a long illness. He was a long time member of the Russell Springs Fire Department and a car detailer.
He is survived by two brothers, Fred Brown, Shelbyville, IN and Joe D. Brown, Russell Springs, four sisters, Bethel Coffey and Ann Stiers, both of Shelbyville, IN, Pearl Williams and Lila Sutton, both of Russell Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Roe and Flora Bennett Brown, one sister, Jenny Yeadon, and two brothers, Harlan Jr. Brown and Tolly Brown.
Funeral services were Monday, May 20 In the chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Lawless officiating.
Interment was in the Bernard Cemetery with the Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department serving as pallbearers.

Frances R. Wright, 67, Columbia, passed away on Thursday, May 16 at her residence.
She is survived by two sons, Samuel Crew and Warren Wright, both of Russell Springs, three daughters, Iva Dean, Indianapolis, IN, Evonne Chumbley, Russell Springs, and Teresa Ellis, Jamestown, three brothers, Adrian Crew, Ernest Crew, and James Crew, all of Russell Springs, and five sisters, Elizabeth Piper, Louisville, Maudie Hawliks, OH, Della Luttrell, Liberty, Alvada Rexroat, Russell Springs, and Ruth Claypool, FL, 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sunday, May 19 in the chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Brown officiating. Special music was presented by Daniel Wilson.
Interment was in the Poplar Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeremy Wright, Michael Chumbley, Paul Chumbley, Jeff Crew, Jamie Crew, and Larry Warriner.
