Julio Lopez, Sr. died 1-29-04
Julio Lopez Sr., 90 died Thursday at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Twp.
Born in Cidra Puerto Rico Mr. Lopez had lived in Lambertville since 1952. Mr. Lopez was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. During WW II he served in the US Army. He retired from O’dettes Restaurant in New Hope in 2000 assisting in food preparation. He also had worked at Adams Korn Kurls for many years and for M & M Plumbing, both in Lambertville. Mr. Lopez was and avid walker and was seen almost daily walking through Lambertville and New Hope.
He is survived by his wife Maria Rolon Lopez, one daughter and son in law Olga and Stacey Rose of Lambertville, three sons and two daughters in law, Luis and Cheryl Lopez of Orlando Fl., Jose Lopez of Plainsboro, Julio and Nadine Lopez Jr. of Lambertville, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church 44 Bridge St. Lambertville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 – 9 PM at the Garefino Funeral Home 12 N. Franklin St. Rt. 179 Lambertville.

Elizabeth "Betty" Mullen, died 5-26-04
Elizabeth “Betty” Burns Mullen, 76 died Wednesday at the Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown Pa.
Born in Lambertville Mrs. Mullen was a lifelong resident. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church.
Daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Crips Burns, wife of the late Robert “Squizzle” Mullen and mother of the late Tommy Mullen she is survived by one daughter and son in law Bobbie and Bob “Peachy” Hayes, two sisters and brothers in law, Nan and Paul Shepherd, Jane and Harry Hart all of Lambertville, two nephews and their families, Ken and Michelle Hart and their children Casey and Kyle Hart of W. Amwell Twp., Dennis and Trina Hart and their children Andrew and Alyssa of Brick NJ, one sister in law Bonnie Bishop.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Lambertville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 9:00 am until 9:45 am at the Garefino Funeral Home 12 N. Franklin St. Lambertville.

David S. Rolon died 8-20-03
Whitehouse Station, NJ; David Steven Rolon, 43, died Saturday, September 20, 2003. Mr. Rolon was a graduate of South Hunterdon Regional High School and a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1978-1982. He received a Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University in 1986. Mr. Rolon was an avid NASCAR fan and all around sports fan.
Son of the late Antonio Rolon, he is surived by his mother, Carmen Diaz Rolon, of Flemington, one sister, Carmen T. and Ross Holler of Kingwood Township, 2 brothers, Antonio and Kerrie Rolon , of Stockton, NJ. and Robert and Valerie Rolon , of Spring Hill, TN. Three nephews Erilk, Christopher, and Austin, and several Aunts and Uncles Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Garefiino Funeral Home, Lambertville.

Suzanne Ewer Palmer, died 7-20-04
Delaware Twp: Suzanne Ewer Palmer 72 died Tuesday July 20th at home. She is survived by her husband Bruce H. Palmer, three children, Mark H. Palmer of Chattanooga TN, Matthew C. Palmer of Pensacola Fl., and Maria Palmer Shankin of New Hope Pa. five grandchildren Geoffrey, Rachelle and Natalie Palmer all of Tennessee, Harrison C. Palmer of Tampa Fl., and Griffin H. Shankin of Solebury Twp. Pa.
The elder daughter of Richard Vose Ewer and Mildred Warner Ewer, she was born in Waltham Mass. and resided through adolescence in Waban Mass. She shared the same month and day of birth August 12 with her sister Jacqueline Vose Ewer, three years her junior.
A graduate of Newton High School and LaSalle College of Auburndale Mass, she majored in botany. She was married on June 26, 1954 at the Mary Martha Chapel in Sudbury Mass. with her sister serving as maid-of-honor, and immediately moved with her husband to Nice France, and the following year to Madrid in Spain.
She lived in Oldwick NJ from 1956 – 1968 when the family moved to Seabrook Rd. in Delaware Twp. She was employed as a horticultural instructor at the government-funded and privately supported Hunterdon Occupational Training Center in Flemington NJ. Later, she was an early employee of Stony Brook Gardens, both at the firm’s retail garden shop in Pennington and the Blue Mist Farm in Sergeantsville. The Palmers were among the earliest viticulturists in Hunterdon County, establishing Seabrook Vineyard in 1978.
A member of the 2nd English Presbyterian Church of Amwell in Mt. Airy for three decades, she was an active member of the Friendship & Service.
On June 26th, 2004 she and her husband with family members celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Saturday August 14th at the family home on Seabrook Drive in Delaware Twp.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Society or Hunterdon Hospice both located at 2100 Wescott Dr. Flemington NJ 08822.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home in Lambertville.

Pamela L. Haight - died 2/11/01
Lambertville: Pamela L. Haight, 43 died Sunday February 11 at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Twp.,
Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Mrs. Haight had lived in Flemington and in Lambertville since 1984. She attended Niagara University and had been employed for many years by Integra Life Sciences in Plainsboro as a director of distribution. Mrs. Haight was very active in coaching in the Lambertville - West Amwell Youth Baseball, Soccer and Basketball Association. She coordinated the Snack Shack for many years for the Baseball teams and was coordinator of the Division six soccer league.
She is survived by her husband Steve Haight, one daughter Kristin Haight of Winnipeg Manitoba, two sons Jason Haight, Kyle Haight both at home, her Mother Nancy Snyder of Niagara Falls, NY, her father Roderick Snyder of Sykesville, Pa., her paternal grandmother Naomi Tooley of Sykesville Pa., two brothers Rick Snyder of Roanoke Va., Robert Snyder of Champaign, IL.,
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will Thursday from 6 - 9 PM at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Lambertville, NJ.

Colette Carney Skeehan, died 4-6-03
East Amwell Twp NJ. Colette Carney Skeehan 54 died Sunday at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Twp. She was a well-known horsewoman in the East Amwell Area and a successful woman in the general contracting business.
Colette was born in Penndel Pa. where she lived until 1960, when her family moved to Langhorne Pa. She subsequently lived in Washington Crossing Pa. for twenty six years before moving to Ringoes three years ago. She was a member R.C. Church Stockton. Colette graduated from Saint Andrews Elementary School in Newtown Pa., from Villa Victoria Academy in Trenton and from College of the Holy Names in Oakland Ca. She worked as a research assistant for the University of New Hampshire and taught GED courses at Pease Air Force Base prior to joining her parent’s constructions company, Thomas P. Carney Inc. in 1972 where she worked as office manager. In 1982 she and her husband John Skeehan, founded and operated Rampart Construction Company Inc. In recent years, their company performed school construction in Hillsborough, Metuchen and Skillman.
Collette also managed a show horse training and breeding facility at the family owned Back Brook Farms in East Amwell Township. Though a western equestrian in her youth, Colette’s barn focused primarily on show jumpers, and her horses competed successfully on the show circuit. She was a member of the American Horse Show Association, USA EQ, and the Amwell Valley Trail Association.
Sister of the late Thomas P. Carney Jr., and mother of the late Monica Skeehan, she is survived by her parents Thomas P Carney Sr., and Teresa Plewes Carney of Langhorne Pa., her loving husband John A. Skeehan, her daughter Danielle C. Skeehan currently at Boston University, her son Sean Skeehan currently at Manhattan College, five brothers John, Robert, Joseph, Michael and William, her sister Anne Marie Carney Bruno, 44 nieces and nephews, one great nephew, one great niece.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bridge St. Lambertville. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Ringoes, after which there will be a reception of celebration for all her family and friends at the family home 73 Back Brook Rd. Ringoes NJ.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 – 10 PM also at the family’s Back Brook home.

Albert T. Worthington, died 7-31-04
Lambertville: Albert T. Worthington 80 died Saturday July 31st at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Twp.
Born in Morrisville Pa. Mr. Worthington lived in Lambertville most of his life. He and his family had vacationed in Florida during the winter months over the last forty four years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Daytona Beach, FL. and the Eagles Club in Ormond Beach FL.
He served in the US Army during WW II and was a member of the Toscanni American Legion Post # 120 and the Lambertville VFW Post # 7921. He was a member of the Masonic Amwell Lodge # 12 F & AM in Lambertville and was a 32nd degree mason in the Crescent Temple in Trenton. He was a life member of the Union Fire Co. in Lambertville, an avid bowler for the Mt. Airy Lanes bowling team and traveled through out New Jersey competing. For over thirty years during the stock car racing season he worked part time as a security guard at the Flemington Fair Grounds. He also had been a district manager for a number of years for the Strand Theatre based out of Clinton NJ, and was a former member of the Lambertville Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Worthington retired in 1979 from the US Post office with 34 years of employment as a Clerk at the Lambertville Office.
For over thirty years he served on the Board of Directors of the Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery Association in Delaware Twp., and also was a caretaker of the cemetery for many years.
Son of the late Albert T. Worthington Sr. and Eliza Grammes Worthington and brother of the late Elsie Scheetz and James Worthington, he is survived by his wife Gladys Myers Worthington, three sons and daughters in law A. Scott and Carolyn Worthington of New Hope, Pa., Thomas J. & Diana Worthington of Fairless Hills Pa., Robbin W. & Christine Worthington of Lambertville, seven Grandchildren, Kevin S. Worthington, Thomas W. Worthington, Jennifer L. Young, Rebekah L. Massey, T. Jeremy Worthington, Randall D. Worthington, Robert S. Worthington, four great granddaughters, Natalie E. Worthington, Corinna E. Young, Colette E. Young, Ainsley A. Massey.
A memorial service will be held Saturday August 7th at 11:00 am at the Garefino Funeral Home 12 N. Franklin St. Lambertville. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Tophelia McIlmoyle
February 18th, 1919 - November 26th, 2005
New Hope Pa.: Tophelia McIlmoyle, 86 died Saturday at the Manor Care Nursing Home in Langhorne Pa. Born in Mahanoy City Pa., Mrs. McIlmoyle lived most of her life in New Hope. She was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church in New Hope. Daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Shatt and widow of Woodrow McIlmoyle, she is survived by two sons Robert of Stroudsburg, William of Langhorne, Pa., one sister Mildred Olshevski of Edgewater Park NJ, three brothers John of W. Palm Beach Fl., Joseph of Green Valley AZ and William of Matamoras Pa. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Rt. 179 Lambertville NJ. Lambertville: Thomas G. Carey, 58 died Wednesday at the Hunterdon Medical Center. Born in Lambertville Mr. Carey was a lifelong resident. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Son of the late Christopher P. Carey Jr., he is survived by one brother Chris R. Carey of Brown Mills, his companion Debbie Andersen of Lambertville. Elaine Miller
July 14th, 1925 - December 24th, 2005
Elaine W. Miller, 80 died Saturday at the Foothill Acres Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Born in Olean NY, in 1925 to Oscar and Mary Wolfe, she later moved to the Mt. Airy – Lambertville area. She was a member of the 2nd English Presbyterian Church of Amwell and was a member of the church’s choir. For many years Mrs. Miller was the Secretary for the Hillsboro Board of Education retiring in 1990. She was active in the Rolling Hills Girl Scout Council and in the American Cancer Society in the 1960’s & 70’s. She is survived by two daughters Linda Miller of Henry Va., Maryen Leu of Phillipsburg, one brother Thomas Wolfe of Bassett Va., four grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Lumberville Pa: Ermida M. Zilli 91, died Sunday at Buckingham Valley Nursing Home. Born and raised in Lumberville, Mrs. Zilli was a member of St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church in New Hope. She had worked at the Dublin Pants Factory, the Rubber Mill in Lambertville and at the Cuttalossa Inn in Lumberville. Daughter of the late Emmanuel and Palma Rosa Apariti Zilli, she is survived by five nieces, Eleanor Price of Lumberville Pa., Rose Marie Fabrizzo of Morrisville, Pa., Olivia Pichoti of Trevose Pa., Mary Zilli and Tania Defore both of San Francisco Ca., one nephew Emanuel F. Steve "The Count" Marcus
September 18th, 1939 - September 25th, 2005
New Hope, Pa.: Steve “The Count” Marcus, 66 died Sunday at home. Born in Bronx NY, Mr. Marcus had lived in central NJ until the age of twenty and has been in New Hope since 1969. At the age of twenty he started to travel and become the world famous Jazz Saxophone player he was noted for. For many years he was the featured soloist in the Buddy Rich Big Band. He also played with music greats such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Woody Herman, Herbie Mann, Larry Coryell, Steve Smith and his best fiend Andy Fusco. Son of the late Samuel and Diana Marcus, he is survived by his wife Eleanor Beham Marcus, one daughter Holly Marcus of Doylestown, Pa., a brother and sister in law William & Shirley Marcus of Waltham, Ma., two nephews David Marcus of Albany NY and Edward Marcus of Clinton NY. Kathryn "Katie" Toth
October 28th, 1917 - October 7th, 2005
Lambertville: Kathryn “Katie” Zambella Toth, 87 passed away Friday October 7 at the Doylestown Hospital surrounded with the love of her family and friends. A lifelong resident of Lambertville Mrs. Toth was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, the Young Men’s Athletic Club Ladies Auxiliary and retired from Lambertville Ceramics after many years of employment. Daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria Gazzillo Zambella and sister of the late Jennie Johnson, Minnie Strouse and Andrew Zambella, she is survived by two sisters Mary Radeer and Julie Wintermute both of Lambertville, twelve nieces & nephews and their families. “Aunt Katie” as she was affectionately called was loved by all who knew her. Genevieve "Josie" Marx
February 23rd, 1922 - November 12th, 2005
W. Amwell Twp. NJ Genevieve “Josie” Marx, 83 was called home to be with her Lord and beloved husband on Saturday November 12, 2005. In the arms of her loving children, Genevieve departed this life with confidence and peace that surpasses all understanding. The daughter of the late Benjamin and Edna Haynes, and widow of Henry K. Marx, Sr., Genevieve was born on February 23, 1922 in Princeton NJ. She attended Valley Road School and graduated from Princeton High School. In 1940, Genevieve was wed to Henry K. Marx, Sr. and resided in Princeton NJ where they raised their three children. They relocated to Lake Worth, FL. in 1970 and returned to W. Amwell in 2003. Genevieve worked at Squibb’s Research during the war effort and later was the cheerful face at the counter of University Cleaners and Laundry in Princeton, but at heart, she was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend who always gave of herself to help others in need. Her life was a living expression of grace, compassion and devotion that reflected her love for her Lord. Genevieve is survived by her children and their spouses, Henry K Marx Jr., of Burlington, NJ, Tim and Carol Cavenaugh of W. Amwell Twp., Richard and Clare Marx of Stuart FL., eight grandchildren, Kathy, John, Jennifer, James, Michael, Kristina, Julia, Teresa and seven great grandchildren, Timothy, Hannah, Nathan, Jared, Tatyanna, Tatum and Jonathan. Genevieve will be missed by all who knew her and we look forward to that day when we will be reunited in heaven. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Lambertville. Daughter of the late William and Melitta Bohr Gaynor and widow of Francis “Bonny” Leary, she was the mother of eight children. She is survived by seven sons and four daughters in law, Robert of Lambertville, Timothy of Flemington, Mark and Samantha of Lambertville, Shawn and Linda of Horsham Pa., Francis and Roberta of Emmaus Pa., William and Rebecca of Lambertville, Brian of Stockton, one daughter and son in law, Donna and Bill Large of Doylestown, Pa. two sisters Marie Cook of Lambertville, Melitta Cronce of Ringoes, one brother Patrick Gaynor of Flemington, six grandchildren, Timothy, Amanda, Mark, Patrick, Collin and Carly, several nieces and nephews.
