Roderick Hughes Mac Donald
Roderick Hughes Mac Donald, 77, a retired public relations director, died Monday, August 20, 2001 at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA after a brief illness. Rod was born in South Boston and educated in Malden schools. In 1942, when WW II broke out, he left school and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp serving in the Asian - Pacific Theater and landing in Guam during W.W. II when he was discharged in 1946 he had attained the rank of Corporal. He returned to Malden after his discharge and entered Cheshire Academy in CT. where he received his high school diploma. He then entered Boston University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Journalism in 1951. He then became a reporter for the Boston Post where he was employed for ten years before becoming a Political Columnist for the Boston Traveler where he wrote a column under the name of Lafayette Mullagan for over ten years. It was during this period that he was recruited by the Prudential Insurance Co of Boston and became their manager of Public Relations He was employed there for over twenty years and at his retirement in 1985 he was their Director of Public Relations. When he retired he continued to work as a consultant for Clark & Co. a public relations firm on Boylston St. Boston. Mr. Mac Donald lived in Melrose, MA for the past forty-one years and was previously from Malden, MA .
He was a member of Sigma Delta Chi of Boston and served on the Board of Director of; Catholic Charities of Boston, The Boston Marathon , The Back Bay Association, Boston Chamber of Commerce, The Massachusetts Taxpayers Association and served as Governor of the Boston Athletic Association.
He is survived by his daughter, Rev. Jean A. MacDonald and her life partner Meg Powden of VT, his brother, Andrew D. Mac Donald of CI, his sister, Jean A. Mac Donald of Malden, and his grandchildren, Cory and Burke Mac Donald-Powden of VT and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia A. (Berg) Mac Donald of Melrose and his brother John D. Mac Donald of Malden.
He was born September 10, 1923 in South Boston, MA, the son of the late Roderick and Jennie (Palmer) Mac Donald.
Condolence calls may be made at the Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Thursday from 7-9 PM
Memorial Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 24, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 131West Foster St., Melrose with the Rev. Miriam Gelfer and Rev. Ann Hockridge officiating. Cremation will be in the Woodlawn Crematory in Everett.

Verna Ellen Mac Kay
Verna E. (Rambo) Mac Kay, 82, died Sunday morning, March 16, 2003 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. Mrs. Mac Kay had lived in Malden well over 50 years and was previously from Darby, PA. Verna worked as a cafeteria worker, while raising her five children, working at the Linden School cafeteria and later at the central kitchen on Pearl St. in Malden and later transferred to the Malden High School's new kitchen. She worked for City of Malden for 25 years. Verna was a longtime member of the Christ United Methodist Church and was an active member serving as secretary and treasure of the women's club and a Sunday school teacher.
Verna was educated in Upper Darby, PA school system. After high school Verna entered into the Brown Prep School in Philadelphia, PA for a year. She later received her Registered Nurse training from Woman's Hospital of Philadelphia, PA, on September 1940. While at the hospital she was an assistant supervisor of nurses in the Pediatric Ward. In May of 1944 Verna signed on as a Reserve Nurse for the Army Nurses Corps and enter active duty on May 5, 1944 at the Station Hospital Ft. George G. Meade, Maryland. Later in 1944 she was stationed at Indiantown Gap Military Base, PA. While there she met and later married her husband Staff Sgt. Roland E. Mac Kay on Sept. 2, 1944. On October 25, 1944 she reported for duty and was assigned to the 126th. Evacuation Hospital, Camp Van Dorn, MS. On Dec. 22, 1944 she shipped out to the United Kingdom and was assigned to the 117th General Hospital, one day later she was reassigned to the 126th. Evacuation Hospital with the Army Nurse Corps. While there she performed general medical and surgical nursing of the sick and injured, at some of the prisoners of war & concentration camps after they were liberated from the Germans. Verna was discharged on November 27, 1945 as a Second Lieutenant US Army Nurses Corps.
She is survived by her son's Donald R. Mac Kay of Revere, Charles R. Mac Kay of Malden, Wayne Mac Kay of Melrose, Douglas A. Mac Kay of Concord, NH and her daughter, Wendy A. Mac Kay of Malden, her sister Elizabeth "Midge" LLoyd of Aldan, PA and her nephew & niece David and Ellen Lloyd both of PA. Also survived by four grandchildren & two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roland E. Mac Kay, her father Charles Rambo, and her mother Ethel Hauer.
She was born April 5, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of late Charles and Ethel (Hauer) Rambo.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden, on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
Contributions in Verna's memory maybe made to the Christ United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 577 Salem St., Malden, MA 02148.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at the Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home. The Rev. Ruth R. Oduor of Christ United Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery WW II veterans section with her husband.

Betty Patience MacKenzie
Betty Patience Mac Kenzie, 81, a retired secretary, died Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. She was born in Coventry, England and came to the United States as an infant with her parents. She was a graduate of Roslindale High School and Burdett. When she completed school she moved to Washington, DC where she was employed a secretary at the pentagon during W.W.II. When she returned to this area she was employed as a secretary at Leaver Brother of Medford where she resided until settling in Malden over forty years. ago. She was also employed as a medical secretary and was a member of the Maplewood Baptist Church for over forty-five years.
She is survived by her husband Wallace H. Mac Kenzie of Malden, his daughters, Debra L. Ortega of Ca and Allyn J.”AJ” Morin of Easthampton, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother James Blackmore of Chelsea, and her sister Gwendoline B. Goode of CT.
She was born April 12, 1919 in Coventry, England the daughter of the late James E. and Florence L. (Masters) Blackmore.
Memorial Closure Services will be held Monday, February 26th, at 11:00 A.M. at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home144 Salem Street, Malden with Pastor Joseph DeCosta of the Maplewood Baptist Church officiating. Cremation will be in the Woodlawn Crematory in Everett.

Albert E. "Buddy" MacCuish
Albert E. "Buddy" MacCuish, 74, died Friday, June 18, 2004 at his home in Spartonburg, South Carolina after a long battle with non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Buddy was born and educated in Malden. When he completed his education he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in Okinawa during the Korean Conflict. When he was discharged he remained in Okinawa and worked as a heavy equipment operator for two year before returning to Malden. He then went to work as a truck driver for Teamsters Local # 25. He also worked on the side as a roofer and aluminum siding installer. He resided in Malden until 1965 when he moved to Stoneham. He resided in Stoneham for thirty years until his retirement from the teamsters in 1994 when he and his wife retired to Hawaii. They had resided in Hawaii for ten years moving to South Carolina last month.
He is survived by his wife Jane (Barrows) Mac Cuish of Spartanburg, SC, his sons; Edward Mac Cuish of Stoneham and Mark Mac Cuish of NH, his daughter Terry Tucker of SC, his sister, Marion Kelly of Danvers, his brothers; Kenneth Mac Cuish of Malden, William Mac Cuish of CO, Melvin Mac Cuish of CO and David Mac Cuish of FL. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers; G. Neil Mac Cuish, and C. Lloyd Mac Cuish both formerly of Malden.
He was born August 11, 1929 in Malden , MA the son of the late George and Anne (Boyd) MacCuish.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden Saturday from 1-3 PM.

Kenneth MacCuish
Kenneth MacCuish, 96, died Thursday, August 1, 2002 at the Mc Fadden Memorial Manor in Malden, MA. Ken was born and educated in Malden and active in sports during his high school years. When he graduated from Malden High School with the "Class of 1924 A" he continued his education nights at Boston University where he received his degree. He was employed as an accountant at the Whitehead Metal Products Co. of Cambridge which worked on the Manhattan Project during WW II. He then went to work for the U.S. Air Force as a defense contract auditor at General Electric in Lynn where he was employed for over forty years until his retirement in 1970.
He continued his interest in sports after high school playing baseball for the Malden Twi- City League, coaching the Malden Chapter Order of De Molay Baseball Team, coaching and refereeing basketball for the Malden PCAA and playing first base for the Nelson's Bakery softball team for many years. He also lead the "Early Bird" exercise program at the Malden YMCA for a number of years until he turned ninety one.
He was an active member of the Maplewood Baptist Church of Malden where he taught Sunday School, was a life Deacon and served as their treasurer for many years. He was a Past Master and Treasurer of The Lodge of Stirling AF & AM of Malden, "Dad" Advisor to the Malden Chapter Order of De Molay, Past High Priest of the Royal Arch Chapter of the Tabernacle of Malden, Former Grand Marshall of the 7th Melrose Masonic District, member of Beauseant -Palestine Commandery #041, Knights Templar and Aleppo Temple Shrine of Wilmington. Ken MacCuish was a life long resident of Malden.
He is survived by his daughter, Jean M. Dunn of Gt. Barrington, his son, Kenneth A. Mac Cuish of Malden, his son, Donald E. Mac Cuish of Malden, and his daughter, Bessie L. Moran of Malden. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elmira “Myra” (Williamson) Mac Cuish, his father William MacCuish, his mother Bessie Mac Leod, his brother G. Neil Mac Cuish, his brother William Mac Cuish, and his brother Andy Mac Cuish.
He was born November 16, 1905 in Malden, MA the son of the late William and Bessie (Mac Leod) MacCuish.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Monday Aug. 5th, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM

Jo-Ann Roberta Mac Donald
Jo-Ann Roberta Mac Donald, 61, died Monday, September 29, 2003 at the Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jo-Ann was born and educated in Malden. When she completed school she went to work for Commercial Filters of Malden as a clerk. She then went to work for the City of Malden where she was employed as the Affirmative Action Officer and the Labor Service Director for eighteen years until her retirement four years ago. She was instrumental in the formation of the Human Rights Commission of Malden and was recognized by the Malden YWCA for her many civic endeavors as their Woman of The Year recently. She was a member of the League of Women’s Voters of Malden. Mrs. Mac Donald lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for past four years and prior to that had been a life long resident of Malden.
She is survived by her husband Robert “Mac” Mac Donald of Las Vegas, NV, her sisters; Norma E. Rogers of Malden, Hazel A. Jolly of Malden, several nieces and nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts.
She was preceded in death by her sister Ruth Brigham of NYC.
She was born July 11, 1942 in Malden, MA. the daughter of the late John and Alice (Hector) Garro.

Dorothy Estelle MacGahie
Dorothy E. (Brown) MacGahie, 91, a retired registered nurse and foster mother, died Thursday evening , June 14, 2001 at the Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford, MA. Mrs. MacGahie had lived in Malden for over 70 years. She was born in Malden and educated in Lowell. After completing her education she enrolled in St. Joseph's Nursing School in Lowell, graduating with the Class of 1931. After completing school there she received her Certificate as a Registered Nurse and performed private nursing duties. She later became a foster mother caring for handicapped children with different childcare agencies in the Boston area for 15 years. She loved working and taking walks with the children. Mrs. MacGahie was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Malden for over fifty years.
She is survived by her daughter Pauline L. Lucia of Melrose, MA, and several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. MacGahie, her son, William F. MacGahie, her father, Walter E. Brown and her mother Isabella (Phillips) Brown, her brothers, Harold Brown, Herbert Brown, Walter Brown, her sisters, Alice Flynn, and Hildegrad Page.
She was born November 24, 1909 in Malden, MA the daughter of the late Walter and Isabella (Phillips) Brown.
Visitation will be held at theWeir-MacCuish Funeral Home on Sunday June 17th. from 4-8 PM

Catherine Veronica Mac Kenna
Catherine Veronica Mac Kenna, 88, housewife, died Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at Wingate at Reading Nursing Home. Catherine was born and raised in N. Adams, MA. After high school, she attended and graduated from the Pratt Institute in Booklyn, NY. She worked as a dietician for many years, and following that, she went to work for Fanny Famer in Malden as a sales clerk.
She was a devoted member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, and also a member of the St. Annes Guild, and a member of the Easter Star, Chapter 14 in Melrose. Mrs. Mac Kenna lived in Malden, Massachusetts for the past 42 Years .
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, her father Nathan Varin, and her mother Catherine (Galligan).

Wallace Harding Mackenzie
Wallace Harding Mackenzie, 80,died Saturday, March 23, 2002 at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Mr. MacKenzie was living in Springfield and was previously a long time resident of Malden. Wallace was a truck driver for the former J. J. Daly and Murray's Stationery Co. in Malden for 22 years. Mr. MacKenzie was a member of the Maplewood Baptist Church in Malden for many years. At the age of twenty he joined the U.S. Navy serving over seas, were he was in the Typhoon of Okinawa and was involved with the transporting of prisoners to Guam. He was discharged on March 3, 1962 after serving 20 years with the Navy and obtaining the rank of SM2 (E-5). He was a Past Commander of the American Legion in Malden and was State Commander, Member of 41 Voiture of the American Legion. Wallace was also a member of Malden VFW Post #639.
He is survived by his daughters, Allyn Jane Morin of Easthampton, MA and Deborah Lee Ortega of CA. He was also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty P. (Blackmore) MacKenzie, his father Archibald MacKenzie, and his mother Ruth (Moore) MacKenzie, his brother, Arthur E. MacKenzie.
He was born July 17, 1921 in Medford, MA the son of the late Archibald and Ruth (Moore) MacKenzie.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Tuesday from 2-4 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home. The Rev. Martha A. Dominy will be officiating. There well be a private burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA.

Rose Alexandrea MacLean
Rose A. (MacIsaac) MacLean, 91, died on Sunday, May 29, 2005 at the Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham, MA. Rose was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia, Canada on May 5, 1914, the daughter of the late Lewis and Isabelle (Gillis) MacIsaac. As a teenager, she moved to the United States and settled in Malden and then later became a U.S. Citizen. Rose married Donald M. MacLean on March 3, 1950. The couple had been married for over 30 years until Donald’s passing. She worked for the Sylvania Light Co. for many years until her retirement. Rose was a member of the Gaelic Club of Watertown and was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Malden.
She is survived by her sister Patricia Aucoin of Braintree, MA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Duncan, Allister, John Leo and Francis X. MacIsaac, all of Canada, and her sisters Mamie Gillis of Dorchester, Kay Hammel of Readville, and Annie Dixon of Canada.
Funeral will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden, on Friday, June 3, 2005 at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem St. Malden at 9 AM. Fr. Richard T. Bakker will be celebrating the Mass. Interment will take place in Stuartdale Cemetery in Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia, Canada at a later date. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at the funeral home from 6 to 9 PM.

Rose Lauretta Madden
Rose L. (Di Palma) Madden, 86, died Saturday, November 23, 2002 at the Woodbriar Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, MA. Rose was born in New Rochelle, NY and at an early age moved to Massachusetts where she was educated in Everett. She was employed as a credit manager for Rogers Jewelry Store of Everett until it’s closing. She then went to work for Weyeth Pharmaceutical of Andover where she was employed as a secretary for twenty years until her retirement in 1980. Mrs. Madden lived in Wakefield, MA for the past twenty years and was previously from Malden where she had resided for twelve years.
She is survived by her son, Bernard T. Madden of So. Yarmouth, her daughter, Peggy R. Commito of Reading, her granddaughters; Laura Newcomb of Braintree, Beth Commito of Reading and her great granddaughter, Mikayla Newcomb of Braintree.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard A. Madden, her sister Dorothy Clows of Lynnfield and her brother, Vincent Di Palma of Medford.
She was born November 6, 1916 in New Rochelle, New York the daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Lantza) Di Palma.
Visitation will be held at the Weir – Mac Cuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Monday Nov. 25th from 4-8 P.M.

Eleanor Louise Maffeo
Eleanor L. (Chappell) Maffeo, 84, died Thursday morning, January 13, 2005 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. Eleanor was born in Cambridge, and raised in Malden. She was a graduate of Malden High School Class of 1938. In her earlier years she worked as a draftsman at the National Radio Co. on Mountain Ave., Malden. for ten years. She later worked for Zayre's Dept. Store, Medford as a salesclerk for four years. She was a life long member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Malden, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of Rebekah of Malden. Eleanor spend winters in Orlando, FL and summers in Ossipee, NH, she loved camping in New Hampshire. Mrs. Maffeo was a life long resident of Malden.
She is survived by her son’s Herbert “Biff” Maffeo, Jr. and his wife Marie of Malden, Paul L. Maffeo and his wife Frances of Salisbury, her sister Virginia H. Nelson of Malden. Grandmother of Herbert Maffeo, III, Amanda Maffeo, Paul " Mike" Maffeo, Jessica A. Maffeo.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert M. Maffeo Sr., her father Pearley Chappell, her mother Annie Shanks, and her brother Pearley A."Sonny" Chappell.
She was born August 5, 1920 in Cambridge, Massachusetts the daughter of late Pearley and Annie (Shanks) Chappell.

Richard John Maggs II
Richard J. Maggs II, 19, died suddenly by accident, Thursday evening, June 9, 2005 in Nashua, NH. Richard was born in Boston and educated in the Malden schools. He played baseball with the Malden Little League and Babe Ruth League and was on the swim team at Malden Catholic High School and Malden YMCA. He was an avid Boston sports fan that loved going to the Red Sox and Bruins games; he enjoyed listening to his music. After high school he moved to Nashua, NH and was employed with the City of Nashua in the waste management department, for the last two years until his passing. Richard had lived in Nashua, New Hampshire for two years and was previously from Malden.
Richard is survived by his mother Patricia L. Thomson of Malden and her husband Edward M. Thomson. His father Richard J. Maggs of Everett and his wife Lauren. His grandmother Ruth Oberlander of Everett, and step-grandmother Natalie H. Thomson of Melrose, his brothers, Justin B. Maggs and his wife Jennifer of Nashua and Jared & Lucas Maggs both of Everett and he was the cherished uncle of Kailee S. Maggs also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Maggs, Ann V. and Chester L. Carrico.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Monday, June 13th. from 4-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions in Richards memory be made to a charity of ones choice.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. in the Weir–MacCuish Funeral Home. The Rev. Randell Ferrara of the First Church in Malden Congregational will be officiating. Cremation will follow in Woodlawn Crematory, Everett with interment in Forest Dale Cemetery at a later date.

Rita Caroline Maglione
Rita Caroline (Puopolo) Maglione, 79, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA after a long illness. Rita was born and educated in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1944. She was a communicant of Sacred Hearts Church in Malden and was a longtime member of the Italian American Veterans Auxiliary of Revere Post #17 and the ITAM of the Revere Senior Citizens Organization. Rita has been a resident of Malden for the last fifty-one years, prior to which she resided in Revere for four years and in Everett for twenty years until she married Rocco Maglione. She was an avid bowler and loved to play cards.
She is survived by her husband Rocco P. Maglione of Malden, her sons Anthony P. & Louis T. Maglione of Malden, her brother Louis T. Puopolo of Everett and her sisters Ida T. Sachetta of Everett, Amelia Perry of Everett, Josephine Mardirosian of Everett, Ann Coppola of FL., and her adopted grandson Matthew Guallongo of Beverly.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Jane Puopolo & Helen Pucillo.
She was born July 21, 1924 in Everett, MA the daughter of the late Louis and Carmella (Carbone) Puopolo.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Thursday from 2-4 &7-9 PM.
Contributions in Rita's memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Div. Of Development, 10 Brookline PL., West FL 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 10, 2003 at 9:00 A.M. in Sacred Hearts Church, Malden. Fr. Daniel J. Hickey of Sacred Hearts Church will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.

Alfred P. Magnani
Alfred P. Magnani, of Malden, a carpenter and decorated WWII combat veteran, died Monday in his home after a long illness. He was 79 years old. Alfred was born in Philadelphia, and raised in Malden. He was educated in the Malden School systems, but left Malden HS in his senior year to serve his county in WWII.
During WWII, Mr. Magnani was a member of the Army's Americal Division, 1st Battalion, 182nd Infantry, where he saw 3 1/2 years of active combat duty. He was first based at Camp Edwards in MA, before moving to NY, and then Melbourne Australia. While preparing for battle in Australia, the Americal Division was formed.
Alfred arrived with the Americal Division in New Caledonia, and from there he spearheaded the invasion of the Solomon Islands, which were then under Japanese control. The division also fought at Guadalcanal, the Island of Cebu, the Fiji Islands, and Bougainville. In Bouganville, he contracted malaria, and was returned to the Fiji Islands for rehabilitation. He returned to his division and fought in the Philippine Islands, where he suffered shrapnel wounds, and was subsequently discharged.
Upon returning to the Boston Area in 1945, he married his wife Eleanor (Cipriano), with whom he shared the next 56 years. He eventually started his own carpentry business, which he ran until his retirement at the age of 75.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor, son George Magnani of North Reading, Daughter Doreen Johnson of Malden, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Josephs Church, Malden at 10:00 AM, on Friday, March 9th. Interment to follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thurs. from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Margaret E. Wells-Maher
Margaret E. Wells-Maher, 76, lifelong resident of Malden, died Thursday, October 31, 2002 at her home. Margaret was born and educated in Malden, graduating from Malden High School. She was employed at Mal's Supermarket as a meat wrapper for over 10 years. She then took employment with Sylvania GTE in Lynn, and worked there as an inspector for over 20 years, until her retirement in 1988. She was a longtime member of Sacred Hearts Church in Malden, and was also a member of the Emblem club of the Malden Elks.
She is survived by her daughters Charlene F. Shepard of Malden, Margaret M. Novis of Chelmsford, Pamela J. Hunt of Wilmington, MA, Patricia A. Brady of Malden, Geraldine R. Carbone of Medford, her brother Robert J. Warner of Malden, her sister Shirley A. Fraser of Arlington, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester E. Wells, her parents Earl E. and Charlotte A. (O'Connor) Warner and her son Robert S. Wells.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 4, 2002 at 9:00 A.M. at Sacred Hearts Church. Fr. Daniel J. Hickey of Sacred Hearts Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
Donations in Margaret's memory may be made to Health Care Dimensions Hospice, 764 Main St. Waltham, MA 02451.

Marilyn Jean Mahoney
Marilyn J. Mahoney, 59, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston after a long illness. Born in Malden on January 9, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bertha (Wilson) Hynes. Marilyn attended Malden High School before starting her own business as a private hospice caregiver. Marilyn had a courageous battle with cancer; she even was the recipient and survivor of a liver transplant in 2003. Her illness didn’t stop her from the things she enjoyed most in her life such as the beaches of Maine and the outdoors. Marilyn was a life-long resident of Malden.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Brown of Fredericksburg, VA, her son, Joseph Mahoney and his wife, Kathy, of Seattle, WA, her sister, Patricia McNamara of Brockton, her brother, Edward Hynes of Saugus, her grandchildren, Daniel and Christina Brown, both of VA and Mason and Quinn Mahoney, both of WA, her great-grandson, Dylan Lesznar of VA, her long-time friend and roommate, Randy Williams of Malden, her aunt, Lucy Lawlor of Malden, and her cousin, James Lawlor of Malden, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Lowe and Margaret Ritson.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at the First Lutheran Church, 62 Church St. Malden at 10 AM. Angela Freeman, Pastor of the First Lutheran Church will be officiating. Cremation took place at Woodlawn Crematory, Everett. Burial will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marilyn’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701-9376. Arrangements by the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden.
