Elsie Rosemary Sacchetti
Elsie Rosemary (Vacca) Sacchetti, 88, died Saturday, July 12, 2003 at the Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford, MA Elsie was born and educated in Everett, MA Elise was a saleswomen for the former Jordan Marsh Department Store in Burlington, MA for several years retiring in 1981 at the age of 65. She was a member of St. Josephs Church in Malden and the Sons of Italy in Everett, MA. She loved to do volunteer work. Mrs. Sacchetti had lived in Malden for twelve years and was previously from Everett.
She is survived by, her daughters, Jo-Ann Belcher of Salisbury and Louise T. Sacchetti of N. Reading. Her grandchildren Christopher Belcher of Natick, Jodie Belcher of Lawrence, Charla C. Funari of Natick and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers; Dewey, William, Herman, Robert and Anthony Vacca and her sister Annie Lionetti.
She was born December 15, 1914 in Everett, MA the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (D'Orio) Vacca.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, MA on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony's Church 38 Oakes St. Everett at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery in Everett.

Marian E. Porcaro- Safford (Greco)
Marian E. Porcaro- Safford, 76, died Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at the Beaumont Nursing Home in Westborough, MA. Marian was born in Cambridge and educated in Chelsea schools graduating Chelsea High School with the Class of 1946. Marian was a long time member of St. Joseph's Parish in Malden and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all the wonderful friends she has made throughout the years and her years at Granada Highlands in Malden.
She is survived by her son, Steven A. Porcaro of Southboro, her daughter, Nancy Porcaro of New York and her grandchildren Cameron, Brittany, Haley and Kathleen Porcaro.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Mario Greco of Medford, her sister Mary Gesualdo of Wakefield and her brother Louis Greco of Somerville.
She was born August 18, 1928 in Cambridge, Massachusetts the daughter of the late Agripino and Maria (Zimbone) Greco.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street Malden, MA on Friday Nov. 5th from 4-8 PM.

Dorothy Irene Sally
Dorothy I. (Gulliver) Sally, 76, died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the Dexter House Nursing Home in Malden. Dorothy was born August 6, 1928 in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada and came to the United States at the age of 19. She attended Somerville schools and later worked for the First National Warehouse in Somerville for twelve years. Dorothy later married her sweet heart, Thomas P. Sally, in Somerville on May 25, 1963 and the couple settled in Malden and raised their family in the Oak Grove section. Dorothy loved playing bingo at Malden Catholic High as well as in Wakefield. She was an avid crossword puzzler and enjoyed knitting.
She is survived by her children, John A. Gulliver and his wife Bonnie of Westford, Brenda L. Allen and her husband Harold of Pelham, NH, Thomas P. Sally Jr. and Charles J. Sally, Sr. both of Malden, Lisa A. Snow and her husband James of Pelham, NH. Cherished grandmother of twelve grandchildren. Also survived by four brothers & two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas P. Sally Sr., her father James Gulliver, her mother Leah Hounsell, her son Paul R. Gulliver, and her grandson Frank A. Snow.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Sunday, March 20th from 2-4 & 7-9.
Contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to the St. Jude's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21st at 10AM in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden with Deacon Robert Amerault of Sacred Hearts Church, Malden as the celebrant. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Walter Louis Sandberg Jr.
Walter Louis Sandberg, 76, a prosthesis maker for American Prosthetics INC, where he worked for 20 years, died Sunday, October 28, 2001 at his home in Melrose, Massachusetts. Walter was born in Everett, then raised and educated in Malden, graduating from Malden High School. Immediately after high school, he enlisted in the Army to help fight WWII. He returned from the war in 1946, and in 1947 he married his wife Beverly Buchanan, and the two shared the next 54 years together.
Walter was an avid cribbage player, a gourmet cook, and was also a skilled leather carver. He also was a past member of the Malden Elks.
He is survived by his wife Beverly of Melrose, daughter Diane M. Malone of Malden, son Paul K. Sandberg of CA, daughter Donna L. Swales of Medford, daughter Penny S. Rowe-Butyn of NJ, son Philip C. Sandberg of NY, son David S. Sandberg of Byfield, daughter Joan Stevens of NH, daughter June Sandberg of Malden, daughter Debra C. Sandberg of FL, and daughter Patricia J. Sandberg of FL. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 nieces, 10 nephews, and 13 great grandchildren.
He was born September 24, 1925 in Everett, Massachusetts the son of Walter and Alice (Hansen) Sandberg.
He served in the Army during World War II having attained the rank of PFC. enlisted on October 19, 1943 at Boston, MA discharged on May 9, 1946 at Ft. Devens, MA.

Elizabeth Catherine Santangelo
Elizabeth Catherine Santangelo, 87, a retired clerk for Commonwealth of Massachusettes, where she worked for 5 years, died Monday, January 15, 2001 at Mass General Hospital in Boston. She was born January 21, 1913 in Boston, Massachusetts the daughter of Arcangelo and Lucia (Mustone) Ruggiero.
She was raised and Educated in Malden. Mrs. Santangelo lived in Malden for over 80 years. She is a longtime member of St. Josephs Church in Malden.
She is survived by sons Frank Santangelo of Malden and Michael Santangelo of Malden, daughers Ann M. Leonard of Malden, and Gloria Speranza of Malden, sisters Grace Cantone of Malden, Phyllis Pinciaro of Stoneham, and Louise Smithell of Malden and brother Anthony Ruggiero of Malden, .
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael, her father Arcangelo Ruggiero, her mother Lucia Mustone, her brothers Alexander Ruggiero, Domenic Ruggiero, her sisters Rose DiMinico, and Josephine Guiliano.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church. Rev. John A. Daly, Pastor of St. Joseph will be officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.

Dominic Thomas Sardo
Dominic Thomas Sardo, 76, died Tuesday, May 27, at his home in Malden. Dominic was born in Boston, and then raised and educated in Revere. From school he enlisted in the Navy to help fight in WWII. During his time in the Navy, he served aboard the USS Steinaker, and attained the rank of Seaman 1st Class. After returning to the states he returned to the Malden area. He soon married his sweetheart, Gail R. McLoud, and the two would share the next 53 years together. He first took employment with Converse Rubber in Malden, and worked there for a short time. He then went to work as a truck driver for Lombard Brothers, a freight company in Cambridge. The company eventually moved to Malden and Dominic drove for them for 38 years, until his retirement. Dominic enjoyed gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Sardo lived in Malden, Massachusetts for 46 years and was previously from Revere.
He is survived by his wife Gail R. (Mc Loud) of Malden, his daughter, Gail R. and her husband Larry P. O'Keefe of Danvers, Ann E. Sheehy of Malden, Charlene R. Sardo of Malden,his son Dominic T. Jr. and his wife Mary E. Sardo of Saugus, his brothers V. James Sardo of RI, Anthony Sardo of Boxford, Charles Sardo of Malden, his sisters Connie Tagliamonte of Melrose and Rose Cattoggio of Revere, as well as 9 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rosina (Cammarata) Sardo, his brothers Phillip Sardo and Joseph Sardo, and his sister Lucy Stott.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

Joseph Robert Sasso
Joseph Robert Sasso, 48, of Malden, died Saturday, May 05, 2001 at his home in Malden. Joseph was born in Chelsea, and then raised and educated in Malden, graduating from Malden High School. After high school, he attended the University of Massachusettes in Lowell, where he recieved his degree in Business Management.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy M. (Greatorex) Sasso, of Malden, his daughter Armanda Sasso of Lynn, his brother Lt. Michael J. Sasso of Melrose, and his sister Joan E. Callan of Melrose.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph A. Sasso, and his brother John C. Sasso.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on thursday from 4-8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 10, 2001 at 9:00 A.M. at Sacred Hearts Church. Father Francis Sullivan will be officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.

Phyllis W. Saunders
Phyllis Weir (Pierce) Saunders, 81, died Monday, July 1, 2002 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose after a lengthy illness. She was born November 16, 1920 in Middleboro, MA and was the daughter of the late Leon R. and Nina W. (Gallond) Pierce.
Phyllis was educated in the Melrose school system and was a graduate of the class of 1937. She worked as a waitress at the Durgin Park restaurant in Boston for 5 years and at the Kernwood Cafe' in Malden for many years. In her later years, she volunteered at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose for eight years and was awarded the Volunteer of the Month in the 1990's. She was also a member of the 557 Club in the complex where she lived. Mrs. Saunders had lived in Malden for 64 years and was formerly from Melrose.
She is survived by her brothers Leon R. Pierce of FL, Raymond J. Pierce of Boston, Robert W. Pierce of Cotuit, and her nieces Mariska and Heather Pierce of Waltham, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Saunders, her parents Leon R. & Nina W. (Gallond) Pierce, and her brother Paul H. Pierce.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Friday from 5-8 PM.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, on Sat. July 6th. at 9AM. Father Richard J. Mehm Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.

Ruth H. Sawyer
Ruth H. Sawyer, 85, died on March 21, 2004 in Arlington, VA of kidney failure. Mrs. Sawyer lived in Malden for eighty-one years before moving to Arlington in 2000. Ruth was a graduate of Malden High School Class of 1937 and chairperson of her class's 25th. reunion. Mrs. Sawyer worked as a dental assistant for dentists in Malden and Melrose in the 50's and 60's. She was a long-time resident of The Heritage Apartments on Pleasant St., Malden before moving to Virginia and was an avid knitter and quilter.
Mrs. Sawyer was proceeded in death by her husband H. Emery Sawyer in 1990. She is survived by her daughter Jane Misheloff (Steve Klonsky) of Arlington, VA her granddaughter, Adrienne Czechowski (Aaron) of Baltimore, and a great-grandson. Ruth is also survived by her step-son Donald E. Sawyer (Hazel) and their daughter Don Elaine, husband John Keller and two children all of Tampa, FL.
Friends and relatives are welcomed to attend a graveside service at the Locust Grove Cemetery, Locust Grove Rd. Merrimac, MA on Wednesday, April 21st. at 12 noon. Arrangement are under the care of the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden.

Priscilla A. Scarlett
Priscilla A. Scarlett, 51, the Chief Technologist for Brigham & Woman's Hospital, Boston, where she worked for 33 years, died Friday, June 28, 2002 at her home in Malden. Priscilla was born and raised in Malden, graduating from Malden HS with the class of 1968. She attended the First Church of Malden, Congregational, and married her husband Michael there in 1977. After high school, she was accepted to North Eastern University where she received her degree in Radiology. She accepted a position with Brigham and Woman's Hospital as an X-ray Technician. She had worked there for over 33 years, and was currently the Chief Technologist.
Priscilla was very dedicated to her job, and had a strong work ethic. She also enjoy both snow and water skiing, and was skilled in arts and crafts. She collected antiques as a hobby, and enjoyed her summers vacationing in New Hampshire.
She is survived by her husband Michael of Malden, and her sister, Nancy Mitchell of Malden.
She was preceded in death by her father George Fenton, her mother Ruth Walker, and her sister Gail Elizabeth Mann.
Donations in Priscilla's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham MA 01701.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden. Rev. Randall P. Ferrara of The First Church in Malden, Congregation will be officiating.

Stephanie "Stella" Scarpaci
Stephanie "Stella" (Velardo) Scarpaci, 87, a housewife died Monday, January 14th, in Lynn. Stephanie was born and educated in E. Boston. She was a long time dedicated member of St. Joseph's Church in Malden. She had moved to Malden several years after marrying her husband, the late Daniel Scarpaci, and the two shared 54 years together. She also enjoyed spending her summers on Cape Cod.
She is survived by her sons Robert Scarpaci of Malden, Richard Scarpaci of Saugus, and Dennis Scarpaci of Topsfield, her brother Leo Velardo of Salem, NH, and her sister Jean Arciero of Medford.
She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel, her father Anthony Velardo, her mother Maria( Guarnera), and her son Anthony Scarpaci .
She was born January 28, 1914 in E. Boston, the daughter of the late Anthony and Maria (Guarnera) Velardo.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Wednesday, Jan 16th, from 4-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2002 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church. Father Richard T. Bakker of St. Josephs Church will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Holy Cross Mausoleum in Malden.

Arthur Everett Schofield
Arthur Everett 'Bubba' Schofield, 79, a elevator constructor, died Friday, July 27th at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. Arthur was born in Boston and educated in Malden Schools. When WW II broke out he enlisted in the U. S. Army seeing service in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe as a Tech 4.Upon his discharge he went to work for Westinghouse Elevator Co. of Boston where he was employed as an elevator constructor for over 31 years until his retirement. He attended the Maplewood Baptist Church of Malden and was a Life Member of the East Side AA of Malden, Malden VFW Post # 639 and Local # 4 of the International Union of Elevator Constructors. Mr. Schofield was a lifelong resident of Malden, MA.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy, R. (Clark) Schofield of Malden his daughters, Eileen M. Johnson of Malden and Dorothy G. Ouellette of Malden. His grandchildren, Paul A. Brant of Malden, Kimberly A. Brant of Everett, Kristina D. Bramante, Craig J. & Brad E. Ouellette all of Malden, his great grandchildren; John Paul & Andrew Brant of Everett and Kayla & Nicholas Bramante of Malden.
He was born September 16, 1921 in Boston, MA the son of the late Harry J. and Mildred (Hyer) Schofield. He served in the Army during World War II having attained the rank of Tech 4. enlisted on June 13, 1942 at Boston, MA discharged on November 4, 1945 at Ft. Devens, MA.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 30th at 11:00 A.M. at the Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul C. Mc Pheeters of Forest Dale Community Church officiating. Burial will be in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.

Dorothy Rita Schofield
Dorothy Rita Schofield, 85, died Friday, March 28, 2003 at her home in Malden. Dorothy was born in Chelsea, and raised in Revere. She graduated from Revere High School with the class of 1937. Over the years she had worked at GE and Sparks, but her real focus was raising her family.
Dorothy was a Charter Member of the Pearl St. Club, and avid league bowler with the Golden Grams.
She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy G. Ouellette of Malden, and Eileen M. Johnson of Malden,, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur E., her parents, George B. and Josephine B. (Lewis) Clark.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Sunday, from 3 - 7.

Richard James Shultz
Richard James Shultz, 71, a retired computer operator, died suddenly, Wednesday, February 21, 2001 while visiting his daughter in Malden, MA. Richard was born in La Porte, PA and educated in Scranton, PA. When he completed school he went to work for the federal government where he was employed for thirty-five years. When he retired in 1997 he was employed with the Food & Drug Administration as a computer operator. He was a member of the Chesapeake Bay Assoc. of the Deaf and was an avid bowler. Mr. Shultz lived in Gaithersburg, Maryland for twenty-five years and was previously from the Wheaton and Washington, DC area.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina M. Shultz of Malden, MA, his daughter, Frances D. Speer of MD, his son, James L. Shultz of MD, his son, Frank L. Shultz of MD, his sister, Audrey St. Clair of PA, his sister, Lillian Remmington of PA, his brother, Leonard Shultz of PA, his sister, Elizabeth Smith of PA and eight grandchildren and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary T. (Tsoulias) Shultz.
He was born November 28, 1929 in La Porte, Pennsylvania the son of the late Leslie A. and Martha (Hoyt) Shultz.

Grace Eleanor Schulze
Grace Eleanor (Malcolm) Schulze, 82, a housewife, died suddenly Monday morning, September 17, 2001 at the Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA Mrs. Schulze had lived in Malden for 64 years.
Grace was educated in the Everett School System and graduated with the Class of 1937. She was a communicant of St. Josephs Church for many years.
She is survived by her son Donald A. Schulze and his wife Ann M., her daughter Donna M. Biscan and her husband William A. of Malden, her son William J. Malcolm of Lynn. Loving aunt of Justina Chapman of Wakefield. Devoted grandmother of Alan W. Biscan, William R. Biscan, Donald M. Schulze, Eric W. Schulze, Timothy P. Malcolm & Alyssa M. Malcolm.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred G. Schulze, her father Wallace E. Malcolm, her mother Justina Richard, her sister Ruth Leonard formerly of Wakefield, her brothers Lloyd Malcolm & Thurman Malcolm both formerly of Malden, and her brother Warren Malcolm formerly of Medford.
She was born October 3, 1918 in Everett, MA, the daughter of the late Wallace and Justina (Richard) Malcolm.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.

Angelina Sciuto
Angelina "Angie" (Barrasso) Sciuto, 93, died suddenly, Tuesday afternoon, December 2, 2003 at the Winchester Hospital, Winchester, MA Mrs. Sciuto was a parishioner of St. Josephs Church in Malden and lived in Malden for the last fifty-five years. She was a homemaker that loved cooking and baking. She spent her leisure time knitting and crocheting and taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband Salvatore Sciuto of Malden, her daughter Valerie A. Sciuto of Malden, her son Joseph R. Sciuto and his wife Mary Anne of Billerica, her grandson's Michael Sciuto of NV, and Christopher Sciuto of Somerville, and her cherished great-grandson Zachary Sciuto.
Angie was preceded in death by her father, Raffaele Barrasso, her mother Emelia Ficcocello, her brothers, Ernest Barrasso, Ralph Barrasso, Gerald Barrasso, Alfred Barrasso, Jessie Barrasso and Thomas Barrasso.
She was born June 2, 1910 in Boston, MA the daughter of the late Raffaele and Emelia (Ficcocello) Barrasso.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
