Patricia Ann Scopa
Patricia A. (O'Connor) Scopa, 59, died Thursday evening, December 25, 2003 at her home in Woburn, MA. Mrs. Scopa was born in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School Class of 1962.
After raising her family she worked for Bull H/N Co. formerly Honeywell Corp. in Billerica as an executive secretary for five years. Pat then worked for Parametric Technology Corp. in Waltham as an executive assistant for five years and later worked for Brandies University for a year and a half. In November of 1990 Patricia and Ron A. Scopa were married. They settled in Woburn were they resided together for the next thirteen years. Mrs. Scopa was a former member of St. Joseph's Church in Malden and was raised in the Maplewood Section of Malden. She was formerly of Bedford were she resided for over fourteen years. She was an active member of St. Michael's Church in Bedford and also taught Sunday school.
Pat was an avid walker, loved shopping and eating chocolate and loved going to musicals and watching figure skating.
She is survived by her husband Roland "Ron" A. Scopa of Woburn, her daughter, Beth M. Stadtlander of Jericho, VT, her son, Patrick J. Denaro of Medford, her daughter, Krista A. Mara of Arlington, her stepdaughter, Lauren A. Smith of Lunenburg and her stepson, Steven M. Scopa of Malden. She was the cherished grandmother of Fritz and Graham Stadtlander and Benjamin Denaro.
She was preceded in death by her father John A. O'Connor, and her mother Irene E. (Brady) O'Connor.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Sunday from 3-7 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem St., Malden on Monday, December 29th. at 10 AM. Interment in Forest Dale Cemetery at a later date.

Judith Ann Scotti
Judith Ann Scotti, 60, died suddenly, Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at the New England Medical Center in Boston, MA The cause of her death was a hemorrhagic stroke. Judy was born in Boston and educated in Malden and Everett schools and graduated from the Merrimack High School in Reeds Ferry, NH. She continued her education at the Saunders Electronics in Boston and then went to work for General Communications of Boston as an electronics technician, where she met her husband "Tony". She and her husband then formed The Scotti School of Defensive Driving of Somerville and Medford. She managed anti-terrorist training for over seven hundred corporations in thirty countries and five continents. She also organized students from seventy -four countries attending her training programs and received Meritorious Awards from countries from South America to the Middle East. She was the backbone of the company and was well loved and held in high esteem by the staff for her unconditional caring nature and devotion to all she came into contact with. Mrs. Scotti lived in Medford, MA for the past 18 years and was previously from Somerville and Malden.
She is survived by her husband Anthony J. 'Tony' Scotti of Medford, MA, his daughter, ToniAnn Scotti-Snow of N.Y, her mother in-law, Louise Scotti of Medford, her sister, Althea L. Santolucito of Malden, and her brother, H. Brooks Goss of NY.
She was born March 22, 1941 in Boston, Massachusetts the daughter of the late Leslie and Agnes (Mullay) Goss.
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Saturday from 7-9 PM & Sun 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 22, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Genoa., 179 Summer St., Somerville with the Rev. Brian F. Manning , Pastor of St. Catherine of Genoa officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.

Margaret Louise Scribner
Margaret Louise Scribner, 79, a housewife, died Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Margaret was born and raised in Malden, attending Malden High School and graduating with the Class of 1941. She worked a few years at F. W.Woolworth's, before marrying her husband Frederick in 1946. She was an active member of the Forest Dale Community Church, where she taught Sunday School and Bible Study. She also held weekly Bible Study classes for neighborhood children in her own home. She was an avid Birdwatcher, and a Life Member of the Audubon Society.
She is survived by her husband Frederick Scribner Jr of Malden., her son Frederick Scribner III, and his wife Jean F. of Rowley, her son Lloyd L. Scribner and his wife Peggy C. of Malden, her grandchildren Brian Scribner of Lincoln RI, and Dawn (Scribner) Roberts of Freemont NH. She is also survived by 3 greatgrandchildren, Kayla and Jacob Roberts, and Lillian Scribner.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at 9:00 A.M. at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home. Rev. Paul C. Mc Pheeters of Forest Dale Community Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

Mildred Louise Sheehan
Mildred Louise Sheehan, 78, a housewife and mother, died Saturday, October 26, 2002 at Presentation Manor Nursing Home in Brighton, Massachusetts. Mildred was born in Malden, and educated in the Malden School systems, graduating from Malden High School. Mildred worked for many years as a clerk at the Bargain Center in Quincy, retiring in 1984. She was also an avid Red Sox fan.
She is survived by her son, John F. Sheehan and his wife Cindy of NY, her sisters, Beverly J. Dix of Malden, Miriam L. Nolan of Malden, her brothers, Lester A. Dix of Wakefield, and George E. Dix of Malden. Also survived by grandchildren, Casey, Alex, and Daniel.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, Lester and Veda (Lundberg) Dix, her sister Dorothy Dix, her brother Frank Dix, her brother Richard C. Dix, her sister Ruth Law, and her sister Thelma E. Laurie.
Funeral services will be held Thursday. October 31th, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home. Cremation will follow in the Woodlawn Crematory in Everett. Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home on Thursday one hour prior to service.

Gail Patricia Shepard
Gail Patricia (Hammond) Shepard, 61, died Thursday, May 13, 2004 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. Gail was born in Chelsea and educated in Malden Schools graduating Malden High School with the "Class of 1960". She continued her education graduating from the Malden Business School after which she went to work for Kemper Insurance Company of Boston as a clerk for five years until her marriage. She then raised her family and she and her husband operated G.I. Joe's on Ferry Street in Malden for eight years. She then returned to the insurance industry and worked as an underwriter for several insurance agencies including Prescott and Medallion Insurance Companies of Malden retiring in 2003. She was a member of Sacred Hearts Parish in Malden and an avid bingo player and a friend to everyone she met. Gail was a life long resident of Malden, MA.
She is survived by her former husband Joseph Shepard, of Revere, her step-father, Alton P. Rogers of Billerica, her son, Scott J. Shepard of Malden, her daughter, Tracey L. Brown of North Reading, her son, Kenneth R. Shepard of North Reading, her sisters; Lorraine Stanley of Malden and Rosemary Cummings of Saugus, her brother, Phillip Nelson of Stoneham and her granddaughter Stephanie L. Ellis
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Nelson.
She was born January 17, 1943 in Chelsea, Massachusetts the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Sheridan) Hammond.

Robert William Short
Robert William Short, 79, died Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Eastwood Care Center in Dedham, Massachusetts. Robert was born and raised in Malden, attending the Malden school systems. He had lived in Malden for most of his life, until recently moving to the Dedham area. His favorite hobby was woodcarving.
He is survived by his brother Lloyd "Woody" A. Short of Merrimac, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Anthony J. Short, and his mother Anna Abbott, his brother Paul F. Short.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 10:00 A.M., graveside at Forest Dale Cemetery, 150 Forest Street, Malden. Father Zeljko Batinic will be officiating.

Andrew Paul Sibilio
Andrew Paul Sibilio, 53, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away quietly on Tuesday, May third, after a courageous battle with cancer. Andrew was raised in Malden, graduating from Malden High with the class of 1970. He was an all sport athlete in high school, and shortly after school he enlisted in the US Army, serving with the 7th Cavalry in Korea. He had attained the rank of Sgt in the Tank Corp of the Cavalry. After returning from overseas, Andy studied computer electronics and went to work for AT&T. He worked for AT&T for many years testing computer equipment. He later worked independently which allowed him to travel around the country and see the world. Andy had a great love for sports, and had enjoyed ice skating and golfing. He was also a long time member of the North End VFW Post 144.
He is survived by his parents, Rudolph N. and Bernice D. (Lubinger) Sibilio, his sister, Darleen F. MacPherson of Tewksbury, his nephew Michael and his niece Lindsay.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Thursday, May, 5th from 4-8 PM.

John Anthony Sica
John A. Sica, 54, died Wednesday evening, July 20, 2005 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA after a long illness. John was born in Stoneham and raised and educated in Malden. After high school, he worked for the Lewis Candy Co. of Malden and later with Palmer-Severini Co. in Malden. He later, along with his family, cared for his parents as they grew older. John was member of the Mystic Valley Gun Club of Malden and was a longtime ham radio operator, his call signal was NI-GBC. John was a life long resident of Malden.
He is survived by his brother, Richard T. Sica and his wife Debbie of Malden, his brother-in-law Salvatore Graffeo of Saugus, his niece Jadeane Sica of Malden, his nephews Richard T. Sica Jr. of Malden, Charles Graffeo and his wife Christine of Saugus, Salvatore Graffeo Jr. of Saugus, Anthony Graffeo of Saugus, grandniece Juliana Bernbaum of Malden, grand nephew John Bernbaum Jr. of Malden, Nicholas Graffeo of Saugus, CJ Graffeo of Saugus, and Genevieve Cataldo of Saugus.
He was preceded in death by his father Domenic Sica Jr., and his mother Mary DeMartino, and his sister Edith L. Graffeo.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Friday July 22, 2005 from 4-8 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. in the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden. Fr. Richard T. Bakker of St. Josephs Church will be officiating. Cremation will follow in the Woodlawn Crematory, Everett.

Richard William Siebrecht
Richard William Siebrecht, 74, a retired real estate broker, died Saturday, March 30, 2002 at the Mass General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. MA. Richard was born in New York City, NY and came to Massachusetts as a child with his parents where they settled in Malden where he was educated graduating from Malden High School with the Class of "47". He continued his education at Bryant & Stratton Business School graduating in 1952. He was employed an an executive assisant for Phillip L. Smith Co. of Wakefield for several years before becoming a real estate broker. He worked for the Hicks Real Estate Co. of Malden and Wakefield for over 23 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Malden where he had servered as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Secretery of the Board of Administration and Treasurer of the Church. He was also a former member of the Malden Chapter Order of De Molay and the Middlesex Board of Realtors. Mr. Siebrecht lived in Malden, Massachusetts for over seventy years.
He is survived by his cousin Patricia A. Strobel of Naples, FL.
He was born December 23, 1927 in New York City, NY the son of the late William H. and Maud B. (Clough) Siebreccht.

Doris Mabel Singer
Doris Mabel Singer, 90, died Saturday, February 10, 2001 at her home in Malden, MA Doris was born in Chelsea, MA and lived her entire life in Malden. She was educated in the Malden School system and was a graduate of Malden High School Class of 1929.
She worked as a Sales Clerk at the former Nelson's Bakery in Maplewood Sq. for many years. She was a long time member of the Maplewood Baptist Church and served as church secretary for many years. Doris was a soloist in the church choir and played the piano for the Wednesday night prayer meeting for many years. Her church and family were very important to her.
She is survived by her daughter Virginia A. Smith of Malden, her son Richard J. Singer of Malden her cherished granddaughters Patricia Romero & Susan Coppla both of Malden, and Margaret Hall of N. Andover, MA and 7 great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank C. Singer, her father Fred S. Benson Sr., her mother Mabel MacKay, her brothers Daniel W. Benson, Fred S. Benson, and her sister Eileen H. Crosby.
She was born January 18, 1911 in Chelsea, Massachusetts the daughter of late Fred and Mabel (MacKay) Benson.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Monday from 4-8 PM.

John Joseph Skeffington
John Joseph Skeffington, 75, a longtime resident of Malden, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at his home. John born in Somerville, and raised in Charlestown. Like many of his day, he left school early to enlist in the US Army, and help fight in WWII. After the war, he returned to the states, and began working for the Ford Motor Company. He worked at the Ford assembly plant in Somerville until its closing. He also worked for many years off and on for Ben's Asphault, a company owned by his brother. John enjoyed socializing with friends and walking his dogs throughout the neighborhood. John was also an avid football fan.
He is survived by his wife Claire Bannon, his son Edward Nice of Malden, his daughters, Mary Feeley amd Doris Solis of Malden, his step children, Michael Bannon, Stephen Bannon, Debra Sullivan all of Fl, Kevin Bannon of Lynn, Thomas Bannon of Malden, John Bannon of NH, Philip Bannon of Everett, and Daniel Bannon of Taunton, his sister, Joan Micheli of Malden, as well as 13 grandchildren adn 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. and Theresa (Power) Skeffington, his brothers William and Robert Skeffington, and his sister Ann Taurinsky.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Sunday, April 3rd, from 5 - 9 PM.
Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Monday, April 4, at 9AM, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Joseph's Church. Rev. William J. Minigan, Pastor of St. Joseph's Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.

Thomas Joseph Skerry
Thomas J. Skerry, 81, a retired detective for the City of Malden, where he worked for twenty-five years, died Thursday evening, July 21, 2005 at Charlene Manor in Greenfield, MA after a long illness. Tom was born in Malden and educated at Malden Catholic High School, where he excelled in football in the early 40's and helped his team to go on and win the state championship. After his schooling he joined the U.S. Army during WW II and was assigned with the Military Police and served eighteen months overseas with Headquarters Co., 1st. Airborne Army in Scotland, England, France, Belgium and Germany. He fought in the battles in Northern France, Rhineland, and the Battle of the Bulge. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Victory Medal, and European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. After returning from the war he married Gladys L. Holmberg in the Immaculate Conception Church on April 25, 1948 and the couple settled in Malden and raised their two children. Tom worked for the Simmons Mattress Company as an inspector for the next ten years. He joined the Malden Police Force in 1957 as a patrolman and was promoted to Inspector in 1974. He retired in 1981 after twenty-five years of service to the city. After his retirement he worked as a courier with the Century Bank in Medford and finally retired in 1987. In 1988 Tom and Gladys moved to South Deerfield where they have lived for the last seventeen years.
He is survived by his wife Gladys L. Skerry, his son Thomas J. Skerry Jr. and his wife Christina Doyle of Medford, his daughter Janine E. Skerry and her husband Edgard Moreno of Williamsburg, VA, brothers John J. Skerry of Stoneham and Peter E. Skerry of Everett, and grandson David A. & Peter O. Skerry both of Medford.
He was preceded in death by his father Peter Skerry and his mother Ellen Kelly.
Visitation will be held at Weir- MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Sunday, July 24th. from 2-4 & 7-9.
Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Monday, July 25, 2005 at 9:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St. Malden at 10:30 AM. The Rev. Richard J Mehm, will be the celebrant. Cremation will follow in the Woodlawn Crematory, Everett with interment in Brookside Cemetery, Deerfield, MA at a later date.

Samuel Milley Skinner
Samuel Milley Skinner, 93, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire. Samuel was born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada. At the age of 16, he moved to the US and settled in the Boston Area. He worked as a welder his entire life. During WWII he was building Liberty Ships in the Charlestown Naval Yard. He later took employment at the Revere Sugar Refinery, where he retired in 1975.
Samuel is a past member of the Centre United Methodist Church, and a recently a member of the Merrimack Senior Citizens. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, and was so fond of animals, he would often take in strays. Mr. Skinner lived in Merrimack, New Hampshire for 13 years and was previously from Malden.
He is survived by his daughters Louise A. Panzeri of Burlington, MA and Kathleen M. Crenshaw of Merrimack, NH, his brother Edward Skinner of Canada, his sister Maude Barnes of Canada, and his grandchildren, David Panzeri, and Shawn Crenshaw, Tamara Anger.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor M. (Veholm), his parents Edmond and Annie (Milley) Skinner, and his sister Gladys Milley.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home on Thursday April 17th, from 4 - 8 PM.
Donations in Samuel's memory may be made to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054.

Blanche Leona Smith
Blanche Leona Smith, 80, a retired sales associate and window decorator for the former W. T. Grant Co., where she worked for 25 years, died Thursday, March 15, 2001 at her home in Malden, MA Mrs. Smith had lived in Malden, MA for the last 9 years and was previously from Duxbury, MA where she resided for the last 15 years.
Mrs. Smith was born in Malden, MA and educated in the Melrose School system. She had worked for the W.T. Grant Department Store in Malden for many years and later moved to Duxbury and worked for the Grant's in that area. Blanche retired in 1984. Mrs. Smith was a avid line dancer and loved to walk the beaches in Duxbury.
She is survived by her brother Frederick L. Rowe, and her sister Ruth M. McGarry both of Malden, MA and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis L. Smith formerly of Duxbury, her father Leon L. Rowe and her mother Catherine Fredericks, her brothers, Henry and Edward Rowe both formerly of Malden, and Leon Rowe formerly of Wakefield.
She was born October 31, 1920 in Malden, MA, the daughter of the late Leon and Catherine (Fredericks) Rowe.
Visitation will be held at Weir - MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden ,MA on Sunday, March 18th. from 5-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 19, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home.The Rev. Elise Kinney of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Malden will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury.

Evelyn June Smith
Evelyn J. Smith, died suddenly Monday morning, May 16, 2005, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Evelyn was born in the Dorchester section of Boston and was raised in Malden. She was a Malden High graduate with the Class of 1939. In 1944, Evelyn married her husband, Richard F. Dame, in St. Paul's Episcopal Parish and the couple would settle in Malden and raise their two children. Evelyn worked at her husbands repair shop, Maplewood Motors, as the bookkeeper until the business was sold. The family moved to the west coast for a few years and when they returned, her husband opened Maplewood Square Motors, an auto repair and used car dealer, where Evelyn worked as the bookkeeper. Evelyn later was employed at the Malden Trust Company, as a bank teller for many years. After her retirement, she continued to work in the banking industry with the Bank of America's office for a few years in Malden up until her passing. She was life long member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Parish, St. Anne's Guild Charter Member, Eastern Star and the Red Hat Ladies of Malden.
She is survived by her son, Stephen R. Dame of Newburyport, her brother Carl & Robert Benson both of Malden, her grandchildren, Brandon Giles, Kate Richards, Devon Dame and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Smith and her first husband, Richard F. Dame, her daughter, Susan E. Giles, her parents, Carl Benson and Ida M. (Prescott), and her sisters, Ida Palmer and Helen Davidson.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden, on Thursday, May 19th from 4-8PM.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Paul's Episcopal Parish, 26 Washington St. Malden on Friday May 20th at 10AM. Burial will follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
