MARIE L. (WEAVER) BELCO
HORNELL - Marie L. (Weaver) Belco, 78, of 65 Crosby Street, passed away Saturday afternoon (Feb. 12, 2000) at McAuley Manor in North Hornell, where she has been a patient for the past two weeks.
Born in Harrisburg, Pa., on Oct. 24, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Fern Downin Weaver.
A resident of the western New York area for the most her life, Marie had resided in the Hornell-Arkport area for the past 10 years.
She was a graduate of Monroe High School and the Genesee Hospital School of Nursing, both in Rochester.
Before her retirement, she was employed as a registered nurse for various V. A. Medical Centers.
Her family includes her two daughters, Barbara Baker of Naples; Judy Fletcher of Livonia; her two sons, Edward (Jeannie) Nutting of Conesus; Thomas (Terry) Nutting of Fairport; her 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; also her beloved cat, Tiger.
Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband James Belco on June 4, 1996 and by her two sisters and one brother.
There will be no calling hours. A service in memory of Marie will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in Marie's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, P.O. Box 10609. Rochester, N.Y. 14610-0609. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.

E. VAN YORK
CANISTEO - Van York, 70, of 50 Maple Street., died Thursday (Feb. 10, 2000) at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Canisteo, March 17, 1929, a son of Earl and Mary VanFleet York, he had resided his entire life in the Canisteo area. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canisteo and the Canisteo American Legion. He had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He had owned and operated Vans Alignment Service in Canisteo from 1963 until his retirement in 1982. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed summers at Keuka Lake.
He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Bertha Smith.
Surviving are his wife, Lois B. (Prior) York of Canisteo; two daughters, LoAnne (Gregory) Bogoshian of Rochester; Bridget (Harry) McInroy of Canisteo; one son, Darrell York of Canisteo; two sisters, Mary Dee Barnes of Canisteo; Anita (Robert) Gams of Canisteo; one brother, Duane (Lois) York of Canisteo; grandchildren, Michael Crego, Janice Crego, Jennifer McInroy, Ryan and Meagan York, Sara and Matthew Wood; one foster granddaughter, Esra Sonmez.
There will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, Feb. 13, at the First United Methodist Church of Canisteo at 3 p.m. with Rev. Carl Chamberlain officiating.

VINCENT A. POLMANTEER
DANSVILLE - Vincent A. Polmanteer, 74, of Church Street, passed away Thursday evening (Feb. 10, 2000) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Prattsburg, on Feb. 21, 1925, the son of the late Alva and Mabel Smith Polmanteer. On June 27, 1947, he was married to the former Alice J. Brady, who predeceased him on July 1, 1997.
Vincent was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his three sons, Vincent O. (Roxanne) Polmanteer of Dansville; Edward Polmanteer of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and William Polmanteer of Zephyrhills, Fla.; two daughters, Carolyn (John) Coffey of Dansville; Deborah Dennison of Geneseo; a sister, Doris Barcliff of Englewood, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.
There will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church, 25 Franklin Street, Dansville, with the Rev. Daniel Banks officiating. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home in Dansville.

CORA A. BURDICK
ANDOVER - Cora A. Burdick, 85, of 2041 Jones Road, died Thursday (Feb. 10, 2000) at the Highland Health Care Center in Wellsville.
She was born July 22, 1914 in Hornell, daughter of Fordyce and Flossie Wyant White. On Aug. 14, 1937 in Bolivar, she married Howard Burdick of Andover, who predeceased her Nov. 1, 1987.
A homemaker, she had attended school in Hornell and had been employed for many years as a housekeeper for the President of Alfred University. She was a 50 year plus member Andover First Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Andover Eastern Star, member of the Andover election board, and a former member of the former Andover Grange.
Surviving is one son, Gail (Rose) Burdick of Andover; three granddaughters, Julie (Thomas) Marhold of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Amy (Darren) Holdren of Arlington, Va.; Jill (Eric) Zoll-Burdick of New York City; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; two brothers, Leon (Edna) White of Hornell; Russell (Marlene) White of Harrisburg, Pa.; sister-in-law, Pearl White of Arkport.
She was predeceased by a brother and one sister.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mulholland-Swan Funeral Home, Inc. in Andover. An Eastern Star service will be held Saturday evening at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 13, at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dean Bembower, of the Andover First Presbyterian Church, officiating, burial will be at Valley Brook Cemetery in Andover.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Andover Eastern Star or Andover First Presbyterian Church.

LEO F. PELKEY
HORNELL/WAYLAND - Leo F. Pelkey, 62, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday (Feb. 9, 2000) at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell.
Leo was born Oct. 13, 1937, in Caribou, Maine, a son of Louis and Grace Spooner Pelkey. Leo married Ruth Akins on Nov. 12, 1960, in Rochester, she survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1955 to 1958. He was employed by 3M Corp. in Honeoye for 27 years, and most recently by Nabisco Foods in Olean. Leo enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he enjoyed the stories about hunting and fishing. He was predeceased by two sisters, Madeline Belanger and Mary Olmstead, also three brothers, William Pelkey, Franklin Thomas Pelkey and Maurice Pelkey.
Leo was a member of The Association in Hornell, the Arkport American Legion and a past member of the Wayland American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ruth; three daughters, Melanie Pelkey of Richmond, Va.; Valerie (Gary) Gropp of Wayland; Yvonne (Ray) Sellers of Perkinsville; seven grandchildren, three brothers, Ralph (Cora) Pelkey and Ed Pelkey all of Wayland; Art Pelkey of Hornell; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 100 E. Naples Street, Wayland, where funeral services will be at 8 p.m., with Rev. Dennis Swart officiating.
Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in memory of Leo F. Pelkey.

JOSEPH B. MCGINTY
NUNDA - Joseph B. McGinty, 74, died Feb. 9, 2000.
He was born July 10, 1925 in Dansville to LaVerne and Onolee Barron McGinty.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, of Nunda; daughter, Annette (Mark) Robinson of Dalton; two sons, Dennis J. (Kathy) McGinty of Silver Lake; Alan L. (Donna) McGinty of Carlisle, S.C., three grandchildren; two sisters, Alida DeGroff of Perry; Sally Conklin of Geneseo; nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Mann's Funeral Home in Nunda Saturday from 1- 3 p.m. Funeral services will be immediately following with the Rev. Peter Del Rio officiating. Interment will be in Hunt Hollow Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Nunda Ambulance.

LETTITIA C. "TISH" ROBINSON
BRADFORD - Lettitia C. "Tish" Robinson, 65, of 343 E. Main Street, Bradford, Pa., died Tuesday (Feb. 8, 2000) in Bradford Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 15, 1934, in Hornell, the daughter of the late Carl and Mabel Homes Mead. She was married in Hornell, June 27, 1959, to Jessie D. "Tiny" Robinson, Jr., who predeceased her on August 23, 1987.
She was employed by W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co. as an inspector for 10 years. Also, she was active in the Bradford Salvation Army, being a member of Home League and Swift Store Volunteer.
She is survived by two sons, Jessie David Robinson III; and William Robinson of Gifford, Pa.; three daughters, Alida Robinson of Bradford, Pa.; Becky Albney of Eldred, Pa.; Marjorie Whelan of Indiana, Pa.; brother, Carl Mead, Jr. of Alabama; two sisters, Marjorie Vance of Canisteo; Maryann Boerner of Hornell; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, two brothers and a grandson, Phillip James Robinson.
Viewing will be held today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., East Main Street, Bradford, Pa., where funeral and committal services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Hollis, Pastor of Bradford Alliance Church, and Capt. Pauline Dressler of the Salvation Army officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery, Bradford, Pa.

GERALD M "JERRY" KIEFER
HORSEHEADS - Gerald M. "Jerry" Kiefer, retiree of the Elmira Psychiatric Center, 64, went home to be with the Lord Monday (May 8, 2000) at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center after a brief struggle with lung cancer.
Jerry was born Dec. 18, 1935, the son of the late Clyde and Roma (Harvey) Kiefer in South Dansville. He attended Breesport Baptist Church and served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged in 1956 as 2nd Class Petty Officer.
Loving his work as boilerman. Jerry continued his trade working of the State of New York in Albany, Beacon, Oxford and Elmira, where he retired from Elmira Psychiatric Center as Physical Plant Superintendent in 1990. He also enjoyed traveling across the U.S. to visit family and tour the country.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Shirley (Blasetti) Kiefer. Jerry was the father to Maria (William) Nally of Dallas, Texas; Michael (Carolyn) Kiefer of Farmington, Minn.; and grandfather to Laura Nally; Alexis and Ariel Kiefer; brother of Jeffrey Kiefer of N.M.; son-in-law, Fred and Jean Blasetti; his uncle, William (Lois) Harvey of Canaseraga; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 South Main Street, Horseheads on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m.. His funeral services will take place there at the conclusion of calling hours at 8 p.m., with Rev. Frank Snyder officiating. Graveside committal service will take place Friday at 10 a.m. in the South Dansville Forest lawn Cemetery, Dansville.

LOUISE M. DONALDSON MALANDRA
DANSVILLE - Louise M. Donaldson Malandra, 88, a life long resident of Dansville, residing on Adams St., passed away early Tuesday morning (May 9, 2000) at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia, where she had been a resident for the past several months.
She was born in Perkinsville, on Jan. 13, 1912, a daughter of the late Jacob and Minnie Sauerbier Morsch. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Malandra in 1984, a brother Edward Morsch and two sisters, Renelda Snyder and Virginia Kiesl.
Louise, a registered nurse, worked for many years as a floor supervisor at the Dansville Memorial Hospital and later worked for the late Dr. Laverne G. Wagner until his retirement in 1976.
For several years after her retirement, she worked as a Senior Companion at Dogwood Day Treatment in Dansville.
She was past president of the Daniel Goho Post No. 87 of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She also was an active member of Clara Barton Chapter No. 1 of the American Red Cross, a member of the Loyal Hearts Circle and a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of Dansville.
She is survived by her brother, Jacob (Katie) Morsch of Dansville; two sisters, Rita (William) Myers of Lockport; Elizabeth Leone of Mt. Morris; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior calling hours. Friends and neighbors are invited to meet the family at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dansville, on Thursday at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Dansville.

OLIVE JOHNSON
DANSVILLE - Olive Johnson of 137 Morey Ave., died May 5, 2000 at Noyes Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1914 in Venango County, Pa. and married Kenneth W. Johnson on April 4, 1953. He predeceased her on March 7, 1974.
She contributed many volunteer hours to local organizations such as Noyes Memorial Hospital, United Methodist Church, Dansville Dogwood Festival, Red Cross and the Dansville Food Bank. She was awarded the Robert J. Uplinger Distinguished Service Award on behalf of the New York State Lions International and the Dansville Lions Club.
She leaves nieces and an uncle and many, many long time friends, who she has kept in touch with from many states of our country.
Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery, Bradford, Pa., and a memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Dansville at a later date.

ARLENE E. CANFIELD
WELLSVILLE - Arlene E. Canfield, 96, formerly of 10 Sawyer Street Site, passed away Monday (May 8, 2000) in the Wellsville Manor Nursing Home.
She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Patricia Nevol, John Maples; great grandchildren, Scott Nevol, Brian Maples, Sean Maples; great-great grandchildren, Marquelle Nevol.
There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral and committal services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornell.
Arrangements are under the direction of Curry's Funeral Home, 297 Canisteo St., Hornell.

NANCY WILLARD
ATLANTA, Ga. - Nancy Willard, 83, formerly of Nunda, the widow of Dana O. Willard Sr., died on Monday (May 8, 2000).
Mrs. Willard taught for many years at Arkport Central School.
She is survived by her loving children, daughters and son-in-law, Susan Bardo; Virginia Ray and Larry Long of Atlanta, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Sandra Willard of Austin, Texas; Dana and Patricia Willard of Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren; great grandchildren;
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at H.M Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Oglethorpe Hill Chapel.

DEBORAH C. HECKER
ANGELICA - Deborah C. Hecker, 51, of Golden Acre Drive, passed away Sunday (May 7, 2000) at her home after a long valiant battle with breast cancer.
Born Oct. 9, 1948 in Hornell to Robert and Leona George Davison, she graduated Alfred-Almond Central School in 1966 and attended Alfred State College. On Oct. 26, 1968, she married John (Skip) Hecker. She was employed by Genesee Valley Central School.
Debbie was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Angelica; The Angelica Hose Company; and Angelica Rescue Squad. She was also a member of the Allegany County Literacy Volunteers and past President of CSEA. Debbie was co-owner and manager of the Olde Garage Store in Angelica.
She was predeceased by her mother, Leona Davison, in 1989, and a brother, Richard Davison, in 1995.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters Jennifer (Cory) Guenter of Corning; Jodyna (Craig) Cody of Scottsville; her father, Robert Davison of Hornell; two sisters, Doreen (John) Atwell of Gulfport, Miss.; Carolyn Evingham of Almond; three brothers, Robert (Diane) Davison of Almond; Donald (Jackie) Davison of Hornell; Roderick Davison of Hornell; two grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth and Fox Keaton Guenter, both of Corning; several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue, (off Olean St.) Angelica. A mass celebrating her life will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church of the Park Circle in Angelica, with Rev. Ralph and Elizabeth Groskoph officiating. Burial will follow in the Until the Day Dawn Cemetery, Angelica.

MARY HELENA WILSON
WAYLAND - Mary Helena Wilson, 93, of 103 1/2 South Main St., passed away peacefully, Monday (May 8, 2000) at her home.
Mary was born Nov. 27, 1906 in Naples, a daughter of Arthur L. and Mabel (Johnson) Lyon. She married Frank Wilson on July 18, 1925 in Honeoye Falls. They were both lifelong residents of the Wayland area. Her husband Frank predeceased her on Nov. 4, 1965. Mary was a full time mother, grandmother and homemaker, all of which she loved dearly.
She was a member of the Wayland United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Ruth A. Smith of Wayland; Lois (Lee) Clark of Moravia; Marion (Don) Batchelder of Mt. Airy, N.C.; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Perry of Canandaigua; a sister-in-law, Virginia Lyons of Bath; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 100 E. Naples St., Wayland, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Wayland.

FLORENCE L. FREEMAN
WELLSVILLE - Florence L. Freeman, 61, a resident of Manor Hills, 4110 Bolivar Rd., died Monday in Jones Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born June 11, 1938 in Rexville, the daughter of John D. and Jossie McMindes Osmin. In May of 1976, in Wellsville, she was married to Howard F. Freeman, who died April 15, 1999.
She had attended the Greenwood Central School, and had resided in the Wellsville area since 1965.
She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Yorks Corners and a former member of the Petrolia Grange.
Surviving are a sister, Jeanette (Edward) Reese of Hornell; two brothers, Lee (Vivan) Osmin of Hornell; Laurence (Delores) Morris of Wellsville; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Anna Snyder and a brother, Paul Osmin.
Friends may call at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville today from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time, services will be held with Rev. Les Wells of the Faith Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood.
Memorials may be made to the Faith Baptist Church.

FLORENCE C. THOMSON
REXVILLE - Florence C. Thomson, 84, of 1461 Harkenrider Rd., died Monday (May 8, 2000) at St. James Mercy Hospital.
Mrs. Thomson was born Oct. 2, 1915 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the only daughter of Harry P. and Gertrude K. Collins Cunningham.
She was owner and proprietor of the Roslyn Letter Shop, a direct mail advertising business in Roslyn, N.Y.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Bruce (Jeanne) Thomson, D.V.M. of Rexville; Larry (Becky) Thomson of Jonesboro, Tenn.; one daughter, Cathy (Ron) Freeman of Jupiter, Fla.; two grandchildren, Meredith and Spencer Thomson.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are in care of H.P. Smith & Son. Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.

GARY L. HUMPHREY
DANSVILLE - Gary L. Humphrey, 48, of Rochester, passed away Thursday (May 4, 2000) in Rochester.
He was born on April 23, 1952, a son of the late James and Nellie Holbrook Humphrey, He was predeceased by his mother in August of 1999, he was also predeceased by a brother William Relyea.
He is survived by his step father, Keith Harold of Dansville; five brothers, Robin (Paula Kimbel) Humphrey and David Humphrey of Dansville; James (Mary) Humphrey, Gerald (Sandy) Humphrey, Wayne (Jean Milne) Humphrey all of Rochester; a sister, Sue Etta Justice, Also of Rochester.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at St. Luke & St. Simon Cyrene Episcopal Church, 17 South Fitzhugh Street, Rochester.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Nurses Training Fund, c/o 40 & 8, 933 University Ave., Rochester 14607.

FRANCES E. PATTERSON
BATH - Frances E. Patterson, 93, formerly of Denwood Terrace, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday (May 3, 2000) at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 5, 1906, in Cameron to Olin and Fannie Bowyer Quick. Frances was a member of Boyd's Corner Baptist Church and also attended the Avoca Baptist Church.
She is survived by her five daughters, Beverly Brown of Bath; Joyce Sulley of Fullerton, Calif.; Kay Wuest of Anaheim, Calif; Linda Brewer of Bath; Vera Nichols of Topeka, Va.; three sons, Alfred Brown of Lawrenceville, Pa.; Raymond Patterson of Cameron; Carl Patterson of Hornell; one sister, Ida Peacock of Bath; and her companion and bodyguard, Nuisance, the cat; five granddaughters; four grandsons; one step granddaughter; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Frances was predeceased by her first husband, Alfred Brown in 1941; her second husband Walter Patterson in 1974; two daughters, Clara Brown and Dorothy Brown; one brother, Kenneth Quick.
Friends may call at Seager-Jones Funeral Home, 4 E. Washington St., Bath, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Henry Igras officiating. Burial will be in Hedgesville Cemetery, Hedgesville.
