SHEILA J. LANDSCHOOT
SPRINGWATER - Sheila J. Landschoot, of the Carney Hollow Road, passed away Saturday (July 31, 2004) at home from a broken heart.
She was born in Rochester, a daughter of Alfred and Thelma Cuddeback Rohr. On June 28, 1975, she was married to Roger "Snuffy" Landschoot; Roger predeceased her on Aug. 27, 2003. She was also predeceased by her father, Alfred; and a brother, Donald Rohr.
Sheila was formerly employed in the cafeteria at Dansville Central School and SUNY Geneseo. She was currently a loving care provider for her grandson, Braydon, at her home in Springwater.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose #670 of Dansville. She enjoyed going to the casino, and having the pleasure of swimming with dolphins six times in Florida.
Sheila is survived by her daughters, Kristina (Rob) Reamer of Cohocton and Cindy (Rich) Bailey of Walworth; two sons, John Landschoot of Greece and Stephen (Cathy) Landschoot of New Jersey; her mother, Thelma Rohr of Florida; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
An informal memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 5, at 6 p.m. at the Dansville Moose Lodge, followed by a reception.
Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville.

SUZANNE HUGHES
DANSVILLE/CANISTEO - Suzanne Hughes, 67, of 5226 State Route 436, passed away Friday (July 30, 2004) in Hospeace House in Naples.
Born in Hornell, Nov. 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Glenn L. and Neva Buckley House. On Feb. 11, 1956, she married Clarence (Mike) Hughes, who predeceased her on Dec. 17, 1997, after 41 years of marriage.
She is survived by one son, Jeffery Hughes of 5518 Allison Lane, Bath; one brother, Patrick (Darlene) House of Penn Yan; two granddaughters, Sara (Chad) Zigenfus of Virginia and Danielle Hughes of Watkins Glen; one great-granddaughter, Alexyn Zigenfus, and one great-grandson, Cody Zigenfus, both of Virginia; brother-in-law, Richard (Beverly) Hughes, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Ryan, both of Livonia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Honoring Suzanne's wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or services. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Canisteo.

CAROLYN C. BONAFEDE
DANSVILLE/MT. MORRIS - Carolyn C. Bonafede, 89, of Dansville, passed away unexpectedly at home early Monday morning (Aug. 2, 2004).
She was born in Mt. Morris on Feb. 3, 1915, a daughter of the late Frank and Carrie Barone Constantine. On Sept. 18, 1943, she was married to Dr. Vincent I. Bonafede, who predeceased her on April 6, 1982. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Jack, Paul, Jim, Charles, Frank and John Constantine, Clementine Frederick, Mary Siani and Ruth Constantine.
Carolyn was a communicant of the Holy Family Parish at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. She was a former communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Mt. Morris, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She was a past member of the Livingston County Children's Protective Services, and in her free time she enjoyed cooking and baking.
She is survived by her two daughters, Virginia "Ginny" (Jim) Tobin of Sparta and Mary Lee Bonafede of Elmira; a granddaughter, Katie Tobin of Sparta; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday, Aug. 4, from 7-9 p.m. only at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Mt. Morris.

PATRICIA WIGENT
BELMONT - Patricia Wigent of State Route 244 passed away at home with her family on Saturday (July 31, 2004).
Arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Belmont.

KATHLEEN TELLER
WELLSVILLE - Kathleen Teller, 78, formerly of Snyder Road, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2004, in Mount Morris.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1925, in the Town of Alma, the daughter of Cecil and Ruth (Watson) Curtin. On Jan. 18, 1947, she married Russell Teller, who predeceased her Oct. 23, 2001.
Kathleen was a longtime bookkeeper for the Elmhurst Dairy and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She loved her home, landscaping and planting rose bushes. She loved her Irish setter dogs, which she raised and sold for over 30 years, especially Tammy.
She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Stalker of Geneseo; five grandchildren, Dean (Nikki) Jones, Bradley (Stephanie) Jones, Desiree (Dan) DeMart, Aaron Stephens and Brianne Stalker, and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Kathleen was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Dean and Norma Bierman.
Friends are invited to call on Monday, Aug. 2, from 10-11 a.m. at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, in the funeral home, with Rev. Dennis Wolf presiding. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.
Memorial suggestions include the SPCA serving Allegany County.

EDNA B. SHAWL
OLEAN - Edna B. Shawl, of 1665 Goodrich Ave., Olean, formerly of 4682 South St., Cuba, died Friday (July 30, 2004) in the Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, where she had been admitted July 29.
Born in Tonawanda on Dec. 5, 1919, she was a daughter of Charles L. and Eva F. Dice Clapp. On Feb. 1, 1937, in Cuba, she married Wayne S. Shawl, who died June 28, 1998.
She had lived in Cuba for many years and she and her husband had operated a grocery store and gas station in Belvidere and also the Cuba Bowling Lanes. She retired from the D & K Store, Inc. in Olean after over 12 years of employment there.
Mrs. Shawl enjoyed crocheting, bowling and was a collector of salt and pepper shakers.
Surviving are one son, Wayne L. (Mary) Shawl of Chester, Va.; four daughters, Shirley A. (Murry) Kyes of Des Moines, Iowa, Mary Lou (James) Rex of Dansville, Marie E. Bryson of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, and Margaret L. (Carl) Snyder of Olean; 13 grandchildren; sever great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Sabra) Clapp of Webster; two sisters, Doris Haxton of Wellsville and Mary Moore of Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Michael C. Shawl; two grandsons; and a brother, Raymond E. Clapp.
Friends will be received on Sunday, Aug. 1, from 4-8 p.m. at the McIntosh Funeral Home, 24 Genesee Parkway, Cuba, where funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 2, at 1 p.m. Rev. Richard N. Keel of Olean will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Belmont.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

EUGENE W. "GENE" LUDDEN
HORNELL - Eugene W. "Gene" Ludden, 80, of 205 Hornell St. Extension, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon (July 30, 2004) shortly after arrival at St. James Mercy Hospital.
Born in Hornell, Feb. 15, 1924, he was the son of William and Margaret (Walsh) Ludden. He resided most of his life in the Hornell-Arkport area.
Gene was a member of the first graduating class of the current Arkport Central School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was employed for over 28 years by the former Erie and Erie Lackawanna Railroads, retiring in 1969 as an engineer. Gene was a licensed real estate broker and appraiser and had been employed at several local real estate agencies. For several years he owned and operated Gene Ludden Realty in Hornell. He also served as the on-site manager of the former Oak Apartments in Alfred.
Gene was a communicant of St. Ann's Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister. He was instrumental in the formation of the Hornell Perpetual Adoration Chapel of St. Ann's. For many years, he served as St. Ann's Church video technician, filming Sunday Mass to be shown on local television for area parishioners unable to attend Mass.
He was a member of the Hornell Elks Lodge, a member of the Hornell American Legion and a former member of the Hornell Knights of Columbus and Hornell Lions Club. For many years, Gene donated his time as a volunteer worker for several local organizations, including Meals on Wheels. He also spent countless hours serving as a driver, transporting people in the area to and from their appointments and obligations. A true railroad enthusiast, Gene would often appear on a local radio talk show and share memories of the Erie Railroad glory days.
Gene was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend whose devotion to his family, church and community was boundless. He will be sadly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him and sharing in his life.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and Robert Parada; and his sisters, Mary Ludden and Ellen Stewart.
He was married on Oct. 26, 1946, to the former Mary Catherine "Kak" McAndrew, who survives. Also surviving are his six children, William (Terry) Ludden of Hornell, Anne (Bruce) Prashaw of Syracuse, Mary Kay (James) Rahmlow of Fairport, Peggy (Kenneth) Diehl of Pittsford, Christopher (Sylvia) Ludden of Pittsford, and John (Nancy) Ludden of Burlington, Vt.; one sister, Joan (Harold) Kittell of Hornell; dear friend, Fay Parada of Arkport; 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family of Eugene W. "Gene" Ludden will receive friends on Monday, Aug. 2, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3, at St. Ann's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Gene's family requests that memorial contributions in his name be made to the Perpetual Adoration Chapel of St. Ann's, 31 Erie Ave., Hornell, NY 14843. Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.

BLAKE D. BROKAW
AVON - Blake D. Brokaw, 18, died at home on Friday (July 30, 2004).
Blake was born Aug. 2, 1985, in Hornell to Daniel and Julie Brokaw.
Blake worked at the Rush Market and Delicatessen in Rush and was a student at Monroe Community College. Blake enjoyed his family, snowboarding, golfing and riding motorcycles.
Blake is survived by his parents, Julie and Daniel Brokaw of Avon; his sister, Ginger Brokaw, at home; his grandparents, Burton and Crystal Brokaw of Ossian; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Ralph and Annabelle Howard; and his aunt, Roxanne Howard.
Friends are invited to call Monday, Aug. 2, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 350 Genesee St., Avon. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m. at the Avon United Methodist Church, 130 Genesee St., Avon, NY 14414. There will be a private interment.
Memorials may be made to the church.

SUSAN C. BILL
SPRINGWATER - Susan C. Bill, 56, passed away Friday (July 30, 2004) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
Susan was born July 4, 1948, in Atlanta, N.Y., a daughter of Harold and Jennie (Wheaton) Bill. She was a former Cub Scout Den Mother and a member of the committee of the Springwater Boy Scout Troop No. 55. She was also a Girl Scout Leader in Atlanta and Canandaigua. She enjoyed cross stitching, football, especially the Buffalo Bills, but most of all she loved helping others.
She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Alan Bill, Leta Kern, Joan Bill, Jean Witherow, Marion Walker and Gordon Bill.
She is survived by her sons, Brady J. Bill of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Brian C. Bill of Wayland; brothers and sisters, Ruth (John) Schenk of Naples, Harold G. (Helen) Bill Sr. of Cohocton, James A. Bill of Arkport, Roger (Hilda) Bill of Canandaigua and Charles (Cathy) Bill of Arkport; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 100 East Naples St., Wayland, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Clearview Cemetery in North Cohocton.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Susan C. Bill.

ROBERT AUCKLAND
EUSTIS, Fla. - Robert Auckland, 89, of Eustis, Fla., died Tuesday (July 27, 2004).
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he moved to Eustis, Fla., from Zellwood, Fla., in 1991. Robert was of the Methodist faith and a retired farmer.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Robert C. and Mary Auckland of Springfield, Ohio, Bill R. and Suzanne Auckland of Mt. Dora, Fla., Thomas J. and Darlene Auckland of Arkport; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Lake and Sumter, 12300 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778.
Arrangements are by the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis, Fla.
