He served in the Pacific Theatre onboard the U.S.S. Blue Ridge and participated in the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Mr. McDermott's family was amongst the first to inhabit Levittown, purchasing a home there in 1949. He worked at Grumman Aerospace and retired after 36 years of service. McMURRAY - Donald F., 97, of Del ray Beach, Fla., died on Thurs day, July 5, 2001. Formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mr. McMurray had been a resident of Florida since 1974. He was a member of the Royal Palm Yacht and Coun try Club, Commodore of the South Shore Yacht Club in Free port, L.I., N.Y.; was a partner for Happy Knit Children's Wear and was the President and owner of the Donald F. McMurray Compa ny, Inc. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving daughters, Barbre McMurray of Hemp stead, N.Y., and Jean Ann McMurray of Calabash, N.C., eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great - great-grandchild.
