died Jan 3 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Sullivan, Born in Torrington Aug 6, 1909 daughter of the late John and Cordelia (Boyle) Taylor, she was a machine operator at The Torrington Company for 35 years.
She is survived by her son, Thomas F. Sullivan and his wife Claire of Bantam and a daughter Patricia S. Dillon of South Windsor. She also leaves 8 grandchildren, Debra Lightfoot and her husband David of Lincoln CA, Patricia Dillon of Newington, Mary Ellen Dillon of Lawrenceville GA, Kathleen Orduz and her husband Bryon of South Windsor, Thomas F. Dillon and his wife Diana of South Windsor, Daniel Sullivan and his wife Michelle of Washington Depot, Lizzie Sullivan of Litchfield and Amy Grosclaude and her husband Gary of Torrington and 6 great grandchildren and 5 gr. gr. grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother John Taylor and a son in law Thomas J. Dillon.

Ann M. Yanok, 87, of 48 Winthrop St. Torrington
died Sunday Oct 3, 2004 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Torrington Fire Chief Francis A. Yanok who died Nov. 2003. She was born in Torrington Sept. 24, 1917 daughter of the late George and Shames ( Maroon) Shaia. She was employed as a Beautician and Hypertrichologist in Torrington for 40 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church Altar Society, Catholic Women's Council, Connecticut Hairdressers Assoc. and The Connecticut Hypertricologists Assoc, serving on their Board of Examiners. She was also a member of The Sullivan Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Cynthia Yanok of Harwinton, and three sisters, Celia Vermiglio of Torrington, Regina Keywan and Rose Jacob both of California and a brother Louis Shaw of Torrington.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday Oct 6 at 10:30 at The Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave. Torrington. Burial will follow at New Saint Francis Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Mary A. Kormann, 97, formerly of Lincoln Ave. in Torrington
died Saturday Oct 2, 2004 at Valerie Manor. She was the wife of the late Ernest Kormann. Born in Torrington April 29, 1907 she was the daughter of the late Grover C. and Jennie ( Gorman) Davis. She was a long time employee of Union Hardware-Brunswick in Torrington.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Elizabeth Santa Maria of Wallingford and Paula Lebeckis of Kenosha WI, a brother Harry Davis of Torrington, and two nieces, Betty Barrante and Patricia Hudak, and a nephew Edward Murphy. She also leaves 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services with burial at Old Saint Francis Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions can be made to Saint Peter's School St John Pl Torrington CT 06790.

Lawrence O'Donnell, 83, of Torrington
died Tuesday Sept 28 at Cherry Brook Health Care in Canton. He was the husband of the late Mae (Carmell) O'Donnell. Born in Woonsocket RI May 31, 1921, he lived winters in Sebastian FL and summers in Torrington. He was employed by Warrenton Woolen Mills for many years before his retirement, and had served in The US Army during WWII.
He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Robinson and her husband Kurt of Torrington, a granddaughter Becky Curtis of Thomaston, and grandson Christopher Robinson of Torrington and 1 gr. granddaughter and 2 gr grandsons. He also leaves his sister Edna Pereault of Rhode Island.
Private Services with burial at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington are at the convenience of the family. Phalen Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Elaine Chorozak, 85, of 613 Prospect St. Torrington
died Dec. 18, 2004 at Haven Health Center. She was the wife of Dr. John Chorozak. Born in St. Claire PA. April 9, 1919 daughter of the late Ignace and Josephine Wondro, she was a long time Torrington resident. She was a Communicant of Saint Mary\'s Church.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a brother Edward Wondro and a sister Elizabeth Luczko, both of New York State.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Saint Mary\'s Church in Torrington. Arrangements by Phalen Funeral Home.

Viola A. Dwyer, 79, of 244 Forest St Torrington
died Thursday Dec. 16 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Born in Torrington, May 21, 1925 daughter of the late Edward L. and Viola ( Rogenski) Dwyer, she was a long time resident of Bantam.
She was employed for almost 30 years at PTC Aerospace in Bantam, and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Bantam.
She is survived by a sister Patricia Gottschall and her husband Frederick and a brother Edward L Dwyer and his wife Noma, all of Harwinton.
She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas E. Dwyer and a sister Mabel A. Dwyer.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday Dec. 21 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Grace Church in Bantam. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. Friends may call at The Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave. Torrington on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30.

Christina (Bookless) Rushworth, 89 of 356 Torringford West St. Torrington, CT
Passed away Wednesday after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Henry Rushworth. She will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Robert Tompkins of Torrington and her son, Robert Rushworth also of Torrington as well as her three grandsons and their wives (Staff Sgt. Scott and Lena Rushworth of Killeen, Texas, Jeff and Liz Tompkins of Burlington, CT and Jason and Robyn Tompkins of New York City) and five great-grandchildren. One of nine children born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, she is also survived by her brother Ronald Bookless of Glasgow and her sister, Janet Valaitis of Torrington.
After immigrating to Torrington in 1953 at age 38 with her husband and children (then 11 and 5 years old) Mrs. Rushworth worked for many years as the Head Housekeeper of Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Following her retirement she was active for years with the Torrington Chapter of AARP, traveling extensively with that group, a member of the First United Methodist Church and volunteered for over ten years at the Torrington Soup Kitchen, receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award for her work.
Calling hours are Friday from 9:30-10:30 at the Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave in Torrington followed by a brief memorial service. Burial will be at The Hillside Cemetery in Torrington. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either The Torrington Soup Kitchen or The Torrington Library.

John Homko, 76, of 191 Wildcat Hill Road, Harwinton
died Saturday July 27 at home. He was the husband of Patricia (Coneita) Homko.
Born in New Britain Sept 11, 1925 son of the late Michael and Elizabeth ( Hritz) Homko, he served in The US Navy during WWII. A carpenter by trade, he worked for Union Local 34 and retired as a Project Manager for Service Merchandise Stores. His skills also included furniture making.
An avid golfer, he was once golf Pro at Pine Valley Country Club in Southington, and he was a member of The Fairview Farm Country Club Men's Golf League. He was a member of Torrington Lodge of Elks and a Communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Sabrina Janco of Harwinton, Daphne Roberson of New Hartford, Peyton Homko of New Hartford, and Dana Dzurnak of Torrington, and five grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday July 30 at 11 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Harwinton. Friends may call at The Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington on Tuesday Morning from 9:30-10:30.

Harold K. Wilklow, 78, of 45 Berry St Torrington
died Wed. July 24 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dorothy ( Fountain) Wilklow who died in 1993.
Born in Winsted Aug 11, 1923 son of the late Walter and Maude ( Birch) Wilklow, he was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He had owned Harold's Artesian Well Co, and later owned Harold's Cafe in Torrington retiring 9 years ago.
He was a member of Seneca Lodge 55, The Shriner's, Litchfield County Zem Zem Shrine, The Knights of Pythias, The Ancient Order of The Scottish Rite, Torrington Elks Lodge, The Veneta Society and The American Legion.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth B. Wilklow of Thomaston, and two daughters, JoAnn Nivolo and her husband Joseph and Jane Wilklow of Torrington, and his companion Janice Hotchkiss of Riverton, three grandchildren Carroll and Brian Wilklow and Ryan Nivolo. He also leaves a sister, Irene Sidelinger of Torrington. He was predeceased by a brother Albert Wilklow and a sister Helen Strahan Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 27 at 9 AM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington. Eleanor Veronica Daley, 89, of Koury Terrace Torrington
died Saturday July 20th at Litchfield Woods. Born in Holyoke MA, Oct 4, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Mary Russel. She was a long time employee of The Torrington Company, retiring in 1975.
She was the wife of the late Aaron Daley who died in 1976.
She was a Communicant of Saint Francis Church and a member of The Sullivan Senior Center.
She is survived by a daughter Mary, wife of Joseph Zontok of Harwinton and a son Norman, husband of Fran Daley of Torrington, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and a sister Dorothy Toussaint of Silva NC

Sevier J. Neag, 75 of Palm Desert, CA
died Jan 8 2003 at UCLA Medical Center in California. He was the husband of 51 years of Elizabeth ( DeMichiel) Neag. Born in Torrington, son of the late John and Maria Neag, he was a long time New Hartford resident prior to moving to California 10 years ago. He was a graduate of UCONN class of 1952, and had served in the Army-Air Corps in Korea. He was retired as National Sales Manager in The Needle Division of The Torrington Company.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Torrington and Saint Margaret Church in Palm Desert. He was a member and volunteer at Torrington Elks Lodge and The Heart Institute in Rancho Mirage CA.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 8 sons, Jason, Alan, Steven, Theodore, and Christopher Neag all of California and Bruce,David and Gerald Neag of Winsted. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Also surviving are three brothers, John and Michael Neag of Torrington and Raymond Neag of Pennsylvania, and three sisters, Aurelia Haag and Letitia Morgan of Torrington and Mary Bellot of Granby. He was predeceased by a brother Traian Neag.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday Jan 25 , 2003 at 2PM at Trinity Episcopal Church in Torrington. Burial fat Hillside Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Anna (Turbacuski) Grigos, 87, of 43 Harding St Torrington
died Thursday Jan 16 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of George Grigos. Born in Great Barrington MA, June 6, 1915 she lived in Torrington most of her life. She was formerly employed by the needle division of The Torrington Co. She was a Communicant of Saint Mary's Church, and a member of The Saint Mary's Ladies Guild. She also belonged to The Sullivan Senior Center.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Elaine Goucher and her husband Aaron of Burlington and Diane Grigos of Torrington. She also leaves grandchildren Rebecca and Daniel Goucher, and two brothers, Chester Turbacuski of Torrington and Stanley Turbacuski of Florida, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10 AM from Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington to Saint Mary's Church for a Mass at 10:30. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7 PM.

Victoria Dzialo, 103, of Torrington
died Wednesday Jan. 15 at Litchfield Woods. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Dzialo. She was born in Torrington, November 24, 1899 daughter of the late Frederick and Fannie ( Pierce) Chaplen. She was the last of 18 brothers and sisters.
She was an active member of Saint Mary's Church and also belonged to their Ladies Guild.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita Gonska and Lillian "Honey" Ferguson and her husband Garvin of Torrington, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 gr. gr. grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Bernice Sclafani who died in December 2002.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Jan 18 at 10:30 at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave. Torrington. Burial will follow at New Saint Francis Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the service from 9-10:30.

Harriet E. Steele, 81 of 198 Catlin Road Harwinton
died Monday March 10 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. She was the beloved wife of 61 years of Oliver F. Steele.
Born in The Bronx NY on Nov. 25, 1921 daughter of the late Frederick and Emma ( Eder) Rogers, she was a former resident of New Britain prior to moving to Harwinton in 1970.
She had been a Sunday School assistant at Immaculate Heart Church in Harwinton.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Frank O. Steele of Berlin, and John W. Steele of New Hartford, and a daughter Lorraine Gustafson of Harwinton. She also leaves six grandchildren, Judy Harvey, Michalena Perlin, Cherie Gustafson, and James, Eric, and Alex Steele, and six great grandchildren
Also surviving are three sisters, Eleanor Hobbins of Old Bridge, NJ, Mae Thayler of Long Island, and Jean Rogers of New York, NY and a brother Walter Rogers of Mamaroneck, NY.
She was predeceased by a brother Richard Rogers and a sister Joan Townsend.

Barbara D. Barry, 67, of Morris CT
beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died Sunday March 2, 2003. She was the wife of 40 years of Thomas P. Barry. Born in Greenwich Nov 26, 1935 daughter of the late Francis and Marion ( Davis) Dobson she was a graduate of Saint Vincent's Foundling Hospital as a Registered Nurse and worked in the pediatrics department at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Stamford. She later resided in Morris, Ct as a caring wife and mother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children and their families: John, And Brendan Barry, and Matthew and his wife Cynthia Barry, and Alicia Smith and her husband Gabe, and a grandchild Caitlin Barry.

John A. "Jack" Tucker, Jr 82 of 60 Wheeler La. Torrington
died Sunday March 2 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Helen ( Iffland) Tucker. Born in Torrington Aug. 6, 1920 son of the late John and Bridget ( Mahoney) Tucker, he was a Torrington High School graduate Class of 1939. He served in The US Navy during WWII.
He was employed as a salesman for The Johnny Barton Co. retiring in 1990.
He was a member of The Torrington Elks Lodge and also was a member of The Dick's Restaurant Scholarship Committee.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son John Tucker and his wife Grace of Coral Gables, FL and three daughters, Jane Vannini and her husband Thomas of Torrington, Barbara Denza and her husband Paul of Torrington, and Margi Carpentieri and her husband Charles of Natick, MA and 6 grandchildren. He also leaves a brother Frank Tucker of Alexandria, VA.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday March 5 at 10 AM from Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington to Saint Francis Church for a Mass at 10:30. Burial with Military honors will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday Evening from 5-8.

Charles E. Hart, 80, of 441 Guerdat Rd Torrington
died Saturday July 5 at his home. He was the husband of Mary ( Schibi) Hart. Born in Torrington July 28, 1922 son of the late William and Katherine ( Lundon) Hart, he was the step son of the late Anson Fransen.
He served in The US Army during WWII as a Corporal in Central Europe, Southern France, and Sicily, and was a recipient of The Purple Heart.
He was a police officer for The Winfield Park NJ Police Department for several years and later was employed as a metallurgist for US Bronze Powder Co in Flemington NJ, returning to Torrington 20 years ago. He was a member of The Hunterdon Hills Sportsmen Assoc. in NJ and was a former Governor of The Roway NJ Moose Lodge.
He was a professional photographer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Bruce Hart and his wife Susan of Hanover PA, and Thomas Clayton and his wife Marge of Torrington. He also leaves 4 grandsons, 5 great grandchildren, and a gr. gr granddaughter, in addition to a brother Harold Fransen of Rockville and sisters Norma Conrad of Gulf Breeze Fl and Patricia Scalice of Gloucester MA.
He was predeceased by brothers Earl Fransen and Burton
and William Hart and his 1st wife Ethel Conrad Hart.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday July 8 at 10 AM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington to Saint Francis Church for a Mass at 10:30. Burial will follow at Old Saint Francis Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 PM.

Theresa Esdefski, 82, formerly of 62 Grove St Torrington
died Thursday July 3 at Valerie Manor. Born in Canton July 20, 1920 daughter of the late John and Mary ( Todefsky) Esdefski, she was a long time employee of The Torrington Company.
She is survived by several friends and former co-workers.
All services are private. Phalen Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Gertrude LaMere, 89 of 278 New Litchfield St Torrington
died Friday July 4 at Wolcott Hall.
She was the wife of the late Albert E. LaMere. Born Aug 22, 1913 in St. David D'Yamaska Canada, daughter of the late Albert and Henrietta Boisclair, she lived in the Torrington area since the 1930's.
She was a former employee of The Torrington Company and Waring Manufacturing Co.
She is survived by a daughter Doreen Whitney and her husband Richard of Torrington and a son Francis S. Czapor and his wife Antoinette of The Villages, FL. She also leaves 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and a brother Lawrence Boisclair of Torrington and a sister Antoinette Chausse of Lehigh Acres FL.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday July 7 at 10 AM at The Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington with Rev James Fung of Center Congregational Church officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 PM
