Of Saratoga passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 30, 2007.She was the beloved daughter of Mary B. and the late Neil Hesson, Jr. She grew up and raised her family in Round Lake. Neila worked for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for many years, until her retirement.
She was predeceased by her brother Peter J. Hesson. She is survived by her children Louise Cesare of Malta, Linda Cesare of Clifton Park, Michael (Holly) Cesare of Long Island, granddaughter Laurie (Frank) Oakes; 2 great grandsons Evan and Mason; her mother Mary Hesson of Round Lake and 2 nieces.
A memorial service for family and close friends will be held 4pm Monday, April 9, 2007 at Armer Funeral Home Inc. 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to your local Humane Society.

Mary A. Zawistowski
Formerly of Rock City Road, Ballston Spa, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital Nursing Home. Born in Fort Edward, January 25, 1945, she was the daughter of the late John and Alice Nesnott. Mary was a pharmacist’s assistant at the former Grand Union in Ballston Spa and later at Hannaford in Milton.
She was predeceased by her husband John Zawistowski, Sr. She is survived by her children John Zawistowski, Jr of Clifton Park and Mary Andrade and her husband Michael of Plymouth, MA; her grandson Aidan Andrade and several sister in laws, brother in laws, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 8:30am Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, where a mass of christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fort Edward.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

Ethel K. Gardinier
Formerly of Lancaster, NY, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Wesley Health Care Center. Born in the Bronx, March 7, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Frances Kling. She was a homemaker. Ethel enjoyed quilting and needlework. She was a former active member of the Lancaster Presbyterian Church.
She was predeceased by her husband W. Ivan Gardinier. She is survived by her children Phyllis Gardinier of Ballston Spa and Nick Gardinier and his wife Bonnie of DeKalb Junction, and a granddaughter Audrey Gardinier.
Funeral services will be held 3pm Saturday at Armer Funeral Home, Inc, 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A calling hour will precede the service from 2-3pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring at Hale Eddy Cemetery, Sanford. Chloe May Monaco
Chloe May Monaco, infant daughter of Kristen Mangini and Nicholas Monaco, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007 at St Clare’s Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother Kile Monaco; maternal grandparents Patrick and Cherie Mangini of Ballston Spa; paternal grandparents Jennie Minarik of Schenectady and Anthony Monaco of Schenectady; maternal great grandparents Bernard and Donna Smith of Ballston Spa and Joseph Mangini of Bemis Heights; paternal great grandparents Patricia Waldron of Schenectady and Beverly Monaco of Schenectady; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Andra J. DeMartino
Of Ballston Spa, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Saratoga Springs, September 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Evelyn Gorham. Andra was the owner and operator of Andra’s Beauty Salon in Ballston Spa for over 40 years. She also worked at Wesley Health Care Center for several years. Andra was a kind hearted person who took extra time with her customers. She helped them with their errands and transported them where they needed to go. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her girlfriends from Round Lake.
Survivors include her three children, Ronald Duell of Ballston Spa, Leah (Robert) Kane of Ballston Spa, Johnna (Eric) Guido of Ballston Spa; two sisters, Patricia Feulner of Malta and Linda Lauderback of Glenville; and several nieces and nephews.

Marion Fournier Colpoys
Formerly of Goode Road, Ballston Spa, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. Born in Whitehall, October 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Fournier. Marion worked in the office at the governor’s mansion for many years. She enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking and Tennessee Walker Horses. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family in the Adirondacks.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald Colpoys, granddaughter Rebecca Curley, sister Bernice Soulia and brother Clifford Fournier. She is survived by her 2 daughters Renee (Matthew) Whelan of Hudson Falls and Christine Colpoys of Glenville; 2 grandchildren Jordan Curley and Sarah Whelan; 3 foster grandchildren Lynn, Sharon and Bryanna Cobb; and several nieces and nephews.

Marilyn Steiner Dandeneau
Of Saratoga Springs and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away Monday, March 5, 2007 in Florida. Born in Albany, November 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Betty Steiner. She grew up in Ballston Spa. Marilyn was a homemaker and had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband Maurice Dandeneau; son James (Beth) Pachter of Ballston Spa; 4 daughters Linda Ramsdill of Saratoga Springs, Teri (Ed) O’Connor of Ballston Spa, Judy (John) Thaler of Wallingford, CT and Linda (Tad) Winterbottom of Burlington, CT; sister Joan Stone of Lake George; 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert J. McClelland, Sr
Passed away peacefully, Monday, February 19, 2007 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Born in Ballston Spa, January 27, 1962, he was the son of the late Leland and Gertrude McClelland. He was a mechanic at Gil’s Garage in Burnt Hills for 27 years. Bob was a loving father and grandfather and will be truly missed but not forgotten.
Survivors include his 5 children Jesse (Lynne) McClelland of Ballston Spa, Christopher (Brook) McClelland of Wilton, Gary McClelland, Robert J. McClelland Jr, and Kendra McClelland all of Ballston Spa; 4 grandchildren Preston, Evy, Alieya and Rebecca; brothers and sisters Joseph (Jean) McClelland of Ballston Spa, Leona (Ken) Thompson of Wilton, Barbara (Art) Patterson of Wilton, Carol (Steve) Malone of Troy, Mary McClelland of Halfmoon and John McClelland of Ballston Spa; former wives Shawn Powers of Kansas and Roberta McClelland of Ballston Spa; father in law Gary Knapp of Ballston Spa; several nieces, nephews and his extended family at Gil’s Garage.

Deborah J. Holmes
Of Maple Avenue, Ballston Spa, passed away Monday, February 19, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Ballston Spa, September 26, 1959, she was the daughter of Reita Askew and the late Clarence Askew. She was a graduate of Mr. John’s School of Cosmetology in Illinois. Debbie worked at several beauty shops in Illinois and also when she moved to Ballston Spa in 2003. She most recently worked for the Capital District Developmental Disabilities Services Office. She collected dolls. Her greatest joy was taking care of her children.
Survivors include her 4 sons Shawn, Patrick, Timothy and Tyler Holmes of Ballston Spa; her mother Reita Askew of Ballston Spa; her brothers and sisters Gary Askew of Rhode Island, Douglas Askew, Madeline Waller, Jeffery Askew, Cheryl Keister, Charles Askew, Gail Jennings, Dennis Askew, Philip Askew all of Ballston Spa and Joseph Askew of Saratoga Springs; former husband Timothy Holmes of Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy J. Moss
Of Ballston Spa, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Maplewood Manor. Born in Saratoga Springs, January 30, 1914, she was the daughter of Arthur and Grace Moss. Dorothy worked at Skidmore College for many years. She is survived by two brothers Jack Moss of Saratoga Springs and Robert Olcott of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and sister Patricia Olcott of Rochester. Funeral services will be private. Burial in St. Peter's Cemetery, Saratoga Springs.

Dorothy M. McIntyre
Formerly of Middle Grove, passed away Friday, February 16, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Minnesota, November 6, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Stiffler. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by 2 sons George (Kathy) McIntyre of Middle Grove and Rector McIntyre of Schenectady, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Deanna D. Knapp
Passed away, Thursday, February 15, 2007 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Born in Saratoga Springs, December 11, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Adeline Haley. She was a graduate of Schuylerville High School. Deanna was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and crafts. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister Beverly Denew. Survivors include her husband of 20 years James Knapp; 4 children James (Nicole) Haley of Ballston Lake, Daye Haley and her finance Jason Kondenar, Macia Knapp and Jasmine Knapp all of Ballston Spa; 2 grandchildren Morgen Kondenar and Skyler Haley; 5 brothers Arthur Haley of Utah, Silas Haley of Saratoga Springs, Lawrence Haley of Selkirk, John Haley of Schuylerville and Michael Haley of Colorado; 2 sisters Patricia Morency of Schuylerville and Mary (Tom) Drew of Victory Mills; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

June E. Petrey
Of Church Avenue, Ballston Spa, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Charlton, June 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Marion LaRue. June was a bus driver for Schalmont Central Schools for many years, retiring in 1973. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and BINGO. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Wayne Petrey; 12 children Joseph (Florence) Piasecki of Amsterdam, Adolph Piasecki of Northville, Stanley Piasecki of Schenectady, Hope Piasecki of Nevada, Thomas Piasecki of Rotterdam, Bessie Piasecki and Troy Burenstein of Amsterdam; Katherine Croto of Florida, Walter (Sally) Piasecki of Florida, June Ahrens of Schenectady; Rose (Jim) Houlis of Colorado, Patricia Petrey of Arkansas and Paskel Petrey of Arizona; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Shirley I. Brown
Of Euclid Avenue, Ballston Spa, passed away Friday, February 9, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital with her loved ones by her side. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, April 30, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Mould. Shirley worked for General Electric Co, Ackshand Knitting Mill and VanRaalts Dress Co in Saratoga Springs. She was a life member of Franklin Star Chapter 369 Order of the Eastern Star in Ballston Spa. She was also a member of the Saratoga Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution where she served as sentinel and vice regent.
Shirley enjoyed counted cross stitch, knitting, crocheting, sewing, word finds, genealogy and shopping with her daughter in law. Her greatest joy was gambling. Shirley was a great knitter and made many sweaters for the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts. She ran an AKC kennel for many years, raising miniature poodles.
She was predeceased by her brother Conrad Mould and his wife Dorothy. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Scott Brown, Jr; her son Miles and his wife Cindy, who was a daughter to her; two grandchildren Scott Brown, III and Stephanie Brown all of Ballston Spa; and her brother William Mould and his wife Irene of Ballston Spa.
Funeral services will be held 11am Monday at Armer Funeral Home, Inc, 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Burial will follow in Ballston Spa Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from

Howard J. Kenyon
Of Route 9, Malta, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in North Hampton, February 3, 1918, he was the son of the late Floyd and Evelyn Kenyon. Howard worked for Carl King Ford and Terry Morris Ford for many years. He moved to Florida and worked at several dealerships, until retiring in 1984. He enjoyed gardening and golfing.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Marie Kenyon; 2 daughters Sheila Goderie of Johnstown and Darleen (Robert) Lindsay of Johnstown; son Howard “Tyke” (Pat) Kenyon of Johnstown; stepdaughter Linda (Leonard, Jr) LaBounty of Ballston Spa; stepson Robert ( Debra) Hodgson, Jr of Ballston Spa; brother Horace Kenyon of Sanford, FL; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Rene "Joe" Senecal
Of Harold Street, Ballston Spa, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born in Schenectady, November 27, 1932, he was the son of the late Rene and Mildred Senecal. Joe grew up in Galway and was a graduate of Galway High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Joe worked at Reimherr and Schmidt Construction, Pettit Equipment and Northway Auto Exchange, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed camping and snowmobiling. He was known to his family as "Papa Fix It.”
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Helen Coleman Senecal; 4 children Dean Senecal of Providence, Cheryl (James) Smith of Galway, Brenda (Paul) Stanbridge of Hoboken, NJ and Annmarie Senecal of Saratoga Springs; 4 grandchildren Sarah, Justin and Hannah Smith and Clare Stanbridge; sister Mildred Boerenko of Riverside, California; brother Thomas Senecal of Glens Falls; sister in law Mary Jane Hale of Ballston Spa; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved bulldog Sweet Pea.

Joseph S. Farrell
Of VanBuren Street, Ballston Spa, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Far Rockaway, NY, October 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Joseph (Chet) and Margaret McGreevey Farrell. He was a 1953 graduate of St. Columba's High School in Schenectady. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Joe worked for General Foods for 41 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballston Spa and Union Fire Co No 2. He served as a village trustee for 17 years and was an avid golfer.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers Tom and John Farrell and his sister Maureen Farrell. He is survived by his wife Judy (Sirocco) Farrell; 2 children Chris Farrell and his partner Craig Knef of Ballston Spa and Julie Farrell Kenyon and her husband Tom of Ballston Spa; brother Frank Farrell and his wife Janet of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Ralph Wade
Of White Road, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 17, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Ballston Spa, December 14, 1942, he was the son of Christina Wade and the late George Wade. He was a lifelong resident of the Ballston Spa and Milton area. He was a stationary engineer for O.D. Heck Developmental Center in Schenectady for 35 years, retiring in 1999.
Throughout his life he enjoyed his family, fishing, hunting and race cars. He owned several race cars, which raced and won at local speedways. He was a former member of Eagle Matt Lee Fire Co No 1 and the Ballston Spa Elks Lodge. He was a life long communicant of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballston Spa, where he served as an altar boy.
He was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife Diane Whiting Wade of Milton; 2 sons Patrick (Stephanie) Wade of Malta and William (Alicia) Wade of Ballston Spa; his mother Christina Wade of Ballston Spa; 3 sisters Joanne (Jim) Krutz of Charlton, Christina (Richard) Bublak of Charlton and Linda White of Ballston Spa; 2 brothers George (Cindy) Wade of Ballston Spa and Paul (Ann) Wade of Mechanicville; 2 grandsons Andrew and Alex and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9:30am Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa where a mass of christian burial will be celebrated. John "Jack" F. Hodgson
Formerly of Ballston Lake, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. Born in Ballston Lake, November 7, 1925, he was the son of the late Thomas and Eva Hodgson. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Jack worked for Tufflite, Pettit Equipment and Turbine Services in Ballston Spa for many years. He was a member and past Stewart of American Legion Post 234 in Ballston Spa and a lifetime member of VFW Post 420 in Saratoga Springs. He was a member and past chief of the Ballston Lake Fire Department.
He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Hodgson. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara (Lawrence) Hodgson; 4 sons Keith Hodgson and his wife Shelly of Irving, TX, John Hodgson and his wife Linda of Northville, Lawrence Hodgson of Ballston Spa, and Andrew Hodgson of Northville; daughter Diane Palmer and her husband David of Perth; 2 brothers Robert Hodgson of Laconia, NH and Joseph Hodgson of Laconia, NH; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Joan C. Szerszanowicz
Of Maple Avenue, Charlton, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Albany Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Glenville, May 28, 1940, she was the daughter of Alice McGowan and the late Harry McGowan. Joan worked at the Niskayuna Co-Op for 15 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Curves and enjoyed painting, gardening and swimming. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years Michael Szerszanowicz; 3 daughters Kimberly Szerszanowicz of Charlton, Doreen Zinssar and her husband Kenneth of Schoharie and Alisa Lavoy of Charlton; 4 grandchildren Kenneth M. Zinssar, Kelly Lavoy, Jessica Zinssar and Emily Lavoy; her mother Alice McGowan of Ballston Spa; sister Patricia Selow of Broadalbin, great aunt Irene Crounse of Burnt Hills and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 10am Friday, January 19 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Stage Road, Charlton. Relatives and friends are invited to a reception immediately following the service at the family home 2186 Maple Avenue, Charlton.

Nancy J. Kilburn
Of Rock City Road, Ballston Spa, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Troy, November 10, 1949, she was the daughter of the late William and Georgianna Barbolt. Nancy worked at the Sheraton Hotel in Saratoga Springs and later at Walmart. She was a homemaker for the past several years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Larry Kilburn, 3 children Lori (Christopher) Rougie of Ballston Spa, Larry Kilburn, Jr of Ballston Spa, and Kristal Kilburn of Ballston Spa; 4 grandchildren Andrew, Travis and Mariah Rougie and Keith Kovatch, Jr; sister Patricia Bishop of Saratoga Springs; brother William G. Barbolt of Schroon Lake and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10am Tuesday at Armer Funeral Home, Inc, 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Burial will follow in Ballston Spa Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday evening from 7-9pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association 3 Winners Circle Suite 300, Albany, NY 12205.

Ethelena L. Savage
Of Arnold Street, Ballston Spa, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Glens Falls Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Beckley, West Virginia, March 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Manoah and Beatrice Scarbro. After her retirement, she moved to Ballston Spa in 1999 and took care of her grandchildren Sirena and Dar. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cardinals and cooking.
She is survived by her former husband and best friend Benny Ray Savage of Ocala, Florida; her children Faith Savage of Ballston Spa, Joann Conklin of Ballston Spa, Benny Savage of Saratoga Springs, Heather Primeau of Ballston Spa, James Savage of Pittsburgh, PA and Duane Savage of Ballston Spa; 17 grandchildren Henry, Kelly, Grace, Rachel, Melissa, Wayne, Carson, Sarah, Stephen, Katrina, Joshua, Kaylee, Tasha, Dar, Sirena, James and Heather; brother Junior Scarbro of Beckley, West VA; 4 great grandchildren and 2 nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service 4pm Saturday, January 13, at the family home, 709 Arnold Street, Ballston Spa. Memorial contributions may be made to the C. R. Wood Cancer Center 102 Park Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801, in her memory.

John S. Raymond
John S. Raymond formerly of Utica, Ballston Spa and Brant Lake passed into the loving arms of God on Friday, January 5, 2007 surrounded by his family and friends at Loretto House in Utica, NY after a short illness with cancer.
Born February 27, 1941 in Ballston Spa, Mr. Raymond was the son of John E. Raymond and the late Sarah (Sally) A. Raymond. He graduated from Maplebrook School in Amenia, NY as Valedictorian and from Linton High School, Schenectady. Mr. Raymond, known as ‘Ref’ by the youth in his Ballston Spa neighborhood was an avid sports fan. He followed all sports and enjoyed basketball most of all. His favorite teams were the Utica Devils, the NY Giants and the NY Yankees. In earlier years Mr. Raymond was employed by Ballston Spa Central Schools, Saratoga County Tree Nursery and worked at the family business in Brant Lake. He was a member of the Ballston Spa Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon.
In addition to his father, Mr. Raymond leaves two siblings and their spouses; Michael L. and Sandra (Blinn) Raymond of Brant Lake, Sally (Raymond) and Jeffrey W. Clark of Ballston Spa. He was the Uncle to Michael and Blair Raymond and family of Niskayuna, NY, Brion and Melissa Raymond and family of Montclair, CA, Jennifer (Clark) and Kabir Shah of Brooklyn, NY and Jacquelyn Clark of Ballston Spa, NY.
He will be loved and remembered by family and friends for his profound Faith, generous heart, the twinkle in his eyes and his sense of humor.
A memorial service will be held at the Ballston Spa Presbyterian Church, 22 West High Street on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 11 am followed by interment in the Ballston Spa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413.
