Jeremiah Brandon Keesee
KEESEE, JEREMIAH BRANDON, age 20, of Morristown, died Saturday, July 19, 2003 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born Nov. 20, 1982 and was an avid athlete and a sports fan since birth. His congenial nature ensured long friendships with many. He was a very caring individual and often the peacekeeper among his young friends and teammates. He enjoyed school and was interested in a variety of subjects, especially history. He loved nature and the outdoors. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Greeneville. He was a 2001 graduate of Morristown Hamblen High School East where he was an outstanding member of the football, wrestling and track teams. He was a member of East Hamblen Volunteer Fire Department and was employed by the Russellville-Whitesburg Utility District. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Fred Payne, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Mary Keesee; and step grandfather, Henry Stewart. He was the son of Kathryn and Ronnie Stewart of Russellville and Richard "Rick" Keesee, Jr. of Greeneville. He is also survived by his brother, Richard "Richi" Keesee III; sister, Sarah Keesee; step sister, Summer Stewart; step brother and step sister-in-law, Jamie and Crystal Stewart, all of Morristown; grandmothers, Dorothy Payne of Greeneville and Hazel Stewart of Rogersville; grandfather, Richard "Pete" Keesee of Greeneville; and aunts and uncles, Diane and Ben Thorp of Richmond, Va., Fred and Vickie Payne of Russellville, Joe and Brenda Payne of Kingsport, Ann Broyles of Knoxville, Donnie and Loretta Stewart, Annaruth Stewart, Peggy and Lawrence Osborne, Jeanie and Elmer Fierl and Robert Stewart, all of Rogersville. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday, July 21 at Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Nelson and the Rev. Dr. Hollis Marshall officiating. Members of the 2000-2001 Morristown East Football team will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22 in the Historic Bethesda Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Monday, prior the services at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the East Hamblen Volunteer Fire Department. Greg Dawson
DAWSON, GREG, age 78, of Bean Station, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Powerhouse Baptist Church and attended Riverview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Edith; parents, Leonard and Lou Dawson; and brothers, Alfred, Junior and Tommy. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mildred; sons, J.L. and Michael; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Orlean, Lynn and Robin and Ricky and Donna; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and David Long, Barbara and Tony Rose and Debra and Ronald Wolfe. He is also survived by one sister, Armettie French; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27 at Riverview Baptist Church in Bean Station with the Rev. Terry Winstead and the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A special graveside prayer will be led by Ben Collins. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Saturday, July 26 at Allen Funeral Home. James D. McNally
McANALLY, JAMES D., age 79, of Morristown, died Thursday evening, July 24, 2003 at Life Care Center in Morristown. He was born in Hawkins County Dec. 26, 1923. He was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryan and Mucie McAnally; sister, Alma; and brothers, Harold and Carl McAnally. He is survived by his sisters, Mildred McAnally and Velma McAnally; nieces, Joyce Gravanda, Brenda Hodge, Janet Carpenter, Gail Gordon and Christy Portrum; nephew, Dwayne McAnally; and several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 26 at Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Davis officiating. Interment will be in the McAnally Family Cemetery in Bean Station. Joanne Corbin Norton
NORTON, JOANNE CORBIN, age 68, passed away Monday, July 28, 2003 at her home in Morristown. She was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church since the age of 8. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, and parents, Fred and Leba Corbin. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Quentin Seals; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Susie Norton and Barry and Belinda Norton; grandchildren, Corbin Norton, Travis Norton, Gina Norton, Grant Seals and Matt Seals, all family of Morristown. Graveside funeral services will be 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 29 at Hamblen Memory Gardens with the Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Arrangements by Allen Funeral Home in Morristown.

Rena "Ren" McDowell
MCDOWELL, RENA "REN," 43, of Morristown passed away Fri., Oct. 24, 2003, suddenly at her home. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her adoptd grandfather, Clyde Thompson. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a graduate of Morristown Hamblen East. Survivors include her daughter, Jessica McDowell; parents, Bruce and Sue Harville; brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Jenny Southerland Harville, all of Morristown; aunts, Vannah Davis of Clarksville and Alma Gratz of Morristown; uncle, Ben Graves of Clinton; adopted grandmother, Melissa Thompson of Morristown; special loved nieces, Leah and Brooke Harville of Morristown; special cousin, Gregg Davis of New York; and several other cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 8 p.m., Sun., Oct. 26 at Allen Funeral Home with the Revs. Geroge Johnson and Richard Long officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m., Mon., Oct. 27 in Hamblen Memory Gardens. Marie R. McCulley
McCULLEY, MARIE R., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003 at her home with her mother, husband and friends at her side. Marie had fought, with vaor, a lengthy battle with cancer. Marie was born in London, Ontario, Canada Oct. 13, 1942. She had lived in various places around the USA. She and her hsuband moved to the Lakeway Region in September 1992. Marie worked in the Mortgage Banking Business for more than 20 years. She was last employed by Citizens Bank of New Tazewell. Marie was an award winning member of the Rose Center Quilters Guild in Morrisotwn. Survivors include her husband, Gil McCulley of Mooresburg; mother, Fern Kroeckel; and brother, Gordon Rennison and wife, Sue, of Ellenton, Fla. In Boise, Idaho John McCulley and wife, Melody, Donna McCulley Mahaney, grandsons, Kieran S. McCulley and Daniel R. McCulley. There are several cousins in Ontario, Canada. There will be a memorial service at Allen Funeral Home 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. Refreshments willb e served in the home after the service. Harry A. Archer
ARCHER, HARRY A., 68, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord Fri., Nov. 21, 2003, at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare. Mr. Archer was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a 35 year employee of Berkline. He was a volunteer with the Morristown Rescue Squad since its early beginnings. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 231, and a member of Calvue Missionary Baptist Church. Harry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Minnie Mae Archer. Surviving him are his wife of 45 years, Irene; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Lisa Archer; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Mike Singleton; grandson, Lucas Archer and future granddaughter-in-law, Ashley Dickerson; granddaughters, Casey Archer and January Singleton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Q.V. and Bob Gillette, and Madge and June Walker; brother and sister-in-law, Eural and Phyllis Archer; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Mon., Nov. 24 at Calvue Missionary Baptist Church, with the Revs Jack Free, Lee Wayne Grubb, and Barry Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m., Sun., Nov. 23 at Allen Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Morelock Seals
SEALS, ELIZABETH MORELOCK, 82, of Morristown, passed away Fri., Nov. 28, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant C. Seals; parents, George W. and Laura Helton Morelock; grandson, Terry Lynn Seals; and brother, Carroll Morelock. She was the oldest living member of Fairfield Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, G. Bruce and Phyllis Seals, and Donnie and Jewel Seals; daughter and son-in-law, Beryl (Seals) and Tom Riner; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8 p.m., Sun., Nov. 30 at Allen Funeral Home, with Rev.'s Elmer Lampkin and Tim Jones officiating. Interment will be 1 p.m., Mon., Dec. 1 in Bethesda Cemetery. Ken E. Womble
WOMBLE, KENNETH "KEN" EDGAR, age 62, of Morristown, departed this life Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003. A native of Sanford, N.C., he resided in Morristown for 38 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was the retired owner of Womble Advertising Service. He was a loving husband, father and friend to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter and Lila Mae Womble; brothers, Tom Womble and Glenn Womble; and sisters, Kathleen Morgan and Hazel Cox. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jane Cole Womble; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Kristopher Bryant of Knoxville; son, Kenneth Todd Womble of Orlando, Fla.; mother-in-law, Dorothy S. Cole of Morristown, second father, Clifford Wade Pierce of Morristown; brother and sister-in-law, James "Bill" and Ola Womble of Asheboro, N.C.; sister, Jean Barnes of Sanford, N.C.; special niece and nephew, Susan Hodges and Steve Mitchell; special cousin, Jeremy Fugate; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert "Bob" Musick
MUSICK, ROBERT "BOB," age 60, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 1, 2003 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System. He attended Montvue Baptist Church. He was retired from BSA Fibers and the Hamblen County Board of Education. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Clyde and Dora Musick and father-in-law, Hobert Hopson. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pat Hopson Musick of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Jim Deason of Canton, Ga. and Robin and Donnie Vannoy of Morristown; grandchildren, Zachary Deason and Halie and Hobie Vannoy; brothers, Billy Musick and Tommy Musick and wife, Rita, both of White Pine; sisters, Bonnie Smith of Morristown, Shirley Davis of White Pine and Lois Holdway and husband, Eugene, of Newport; several nieces and nephews; and beloved mother-in-law, Mary Hopson of Morristown. SEXTON, IZORA "BILLIE," born July 20, 1915, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Audrey Sexton. She is survived by a number of cousins, Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9 at Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. WILLIAMS, MARY F.
WILLIAMS, MARY F., age 95, of Morristown, departed this life Monday evening, Feb. 9, 2004 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe F. Williams; sister, Josephine Shorter; granddaughter, Kay Newman; and great-grandson, Frankie Moody. She loved the Lord and was a member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Survivors include her daguhter, Marion Jacobs; grandson, Randall West and wife, Gail; three granddaughters, Barbara Kinsler and husband, Roy C., Carolyn Seals and husband, Billy, and Donna Rines and husband, David; 10 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. BAXTER, WALLACE
BAXTER, WALLACE, age 83, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Baxter; parents, Alvin and Cora Baxter; and brothers, L.C. and George Baxter. Mr. Baxter was the last surviving charter member of Westview Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Bill Burgin of Russellville; grandchildren, Gary Burgin andwife, Lisa, and Larry Burgin and wife, Gina; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, Christy, Tiffany and Destinee Burgin, all of Morristown, and April Grindstaff and husband, Chad, of Greeneville; brother and sister-in-law, Wilburn and Mary Baxter of Talbott; sister, Christine Inman of Morristown; special niece, Shelby Ridley; and several other nieces and nephews. GOODLAND, WANDELL S.
GOODLAND, WANDELL S., age 72, of Morristown, formerly of Racine, Wis, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her son, John Stephen Goodland and parents, Harry and Sadie Drake Schaefer. Mrs. Goodland was a member of P.E.O. and the Ladies Reading Circle. She was also one of the founders of Happy Hearts School for the Handicapped in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was of the Episcopal faith. Mrs. Goodland devoted her life to raising her family and caring for her husband of 51 years in various places, including Tennessee, Ohio, France, California and South Carolina. Survivors include her husband, David C. Goodland; daughters, Jan Goodland-Metz and husband, Jeffrey, of Newport, R.I., Jill K. Goodland of Bath, Ohio and Judy Clark and husband, Kendall, of Newport, Tenn.; grandchildren, John Goodland, McCauley and Kristen Clark and Megan Mitcheltree; great-grandchildren, Ashley Tarr and Aurora Goodland; brohter, Emer Schaefer of Sarasota, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Janet Behl of Columbus, Wis. RUCKERT, BETTY F., age 65, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Addington and stepfather, Andrew Jackson Molner. TAYLOR, HELEN MARIE, age 91, of Greeneville, formerly of New Jersey, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Morning Point Assisted Living in Greeneville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Taylor. Survivors include two sons, Bill Taylor and his wife, Amy Gregg Taylor, and Tom Taylor; one granddaughter, Melissa Taylor, all of Mosheim; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Vander Plaat Colonial Home in Fair Lawn, N.J. with the Rev. Paul Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends noon-1 p.m. Saturday, March 27 prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in George Washington Memorial Park in Fair Lawn. CLARK, SHIRLEY J.
CLARK, SHIRLEY J., 92, passed away Fri. evening, March 26, 2004, at Heritage Nursing Center in Morristown. A native of Hamblen County, born at Leadvale. Daughter of the late Jonas and Annie F. Clark. She was a retired field director with the American Red Cross with overseas duties, including Germany and Guam. Preceded in death by brothers, Robert, John, Mack and J.C. Clark; and sisters, Louise Clark and Catherine Quillen. She is survived by nephew, Clark Quillen of Morristown, and sister-in-law, Kathy Clark of Knoxville. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Sun., March 28 at White Pine Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Carter officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or Morristown Hamblen Library. CROWELL, FLOYD BAXTER, JR.
CROWELL, FLOYD BAXTER, JR., 68, passed away Sat., March 27, 2004, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 22, 1935 in Batesville, Miss. He was the son of the late Floyd Baxter, Sr. and Edna F. Crowell. He graduated Panola County High School, Northwest Mississippi Junior College, and Mississippi State University. He was employed as a production supervisor at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company of Memphis from 1961-1967. He was production manager of Newport Industrial Products from 1967-1981. Since 1982 he has been co-owner of East Tennessee Tire and Retreading Company in Newport. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bettie K. Crowell; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tammy Crowell; grandchildren, Courtney and Matthew Crowell, all of Morristown; sister, Marilyn Taylor of Batesville; brothers, Lynn W. Crowell and wife, Jean of Nashville, and Larry Crowell of Batesville; brother-in-law, Edgar J. Kinard and wife, Lea of Louisville, Miss.; and 10 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m., Mon., March 29 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darris Doyal and the Rev. Ellen Fisher officiating. Interment will be 10 a.m., Tues., March 30 in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. prior to the services at the church. LONG, THELMA VIVIAN "MUTT"
LONG, THELMA VIVIAN "MUTT," age 82, of Whitesburg, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 27, 2004 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Myrtle Lane Haun and a sister, Blanche Haun. She was an employee of Shelby Williams for 13 years and was a member of Catherine Nenney Baptist Church for more than 45 years. Survivors include her son, Robert Long; daughters, Annabelle Anderson and Mary Holdway; brothers, Glenn Talmadge and James Francis Haun; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 30 at Catherine Nenney Baptist Church in Whitesburg with the Rev. O'Dell Davidson and the Rev. James Ramsey officiating. Mrs. Long's body will lie in state one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 29 at the funeral home.
