Bruce Lamar Dye
Bruce Lamar Dye, was born May 21, 1963 in Lake City, Fl. to Minnie Brown and Clarence Dye. On September 21, 2001, at Tallahassee Community Center, God seen fit to remove him from this earthly scene. He was possessed with a pleasing personality and had many friends who deplore his passing.
He received his education at Columbia County High School. He was a member of Agape Christ Fellowship Church, Tallahassee, Fl. He was a self contractor by trade until his health failed him.
Bruce met and was united in holy matrimony to Miss Brenda Chamber.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories; Wife Brenda Chamber Dye, 3 children; Keisha Javis, Tallahassee, Fl., Lashanna, 3 grandchildren; Chrishanna William, Jarmeshiya, Tallahassee, Fl, Father; Eddie Lee Dardy, Biological father; Clarence Dye, Jasper, Fl. Mother; Minnie Brown, Delroy Beach, Fl. 5 Sisters; Melissa Brown, Robin Brown, Sharon Sweeting, Delroy Beach, Fl., Lesia Clark, Missy Baker, Lake City, Fl., 3 Brothers; Gregory, Derrick, Robert, Delroy Beach, Fl., and a host of Aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Matthew Church, 750 Hwy 12 Havanna Hwy, Quincy, Fl., Saturday, September, 29, 2001 at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Reginal Washington officiating. Interment to follow in St. Johns Cemetery in Midway, FL.

Elsie Mae Waldron
Mrs. Elsie Mae Waldron, 88, a resident of Lake City, Florida, died Thursday, September 27, 2001, in the Health Center of Lake City, following an long illness.
Mrs. Waldron was a native and lifelong resident of Lake City, daughter of the late Charles Raymond and Ethel Croft Roberts, and was the widow of the late Curtis O'neal and Elias Waldron. Mrs. Waldron had worked as a homemaker and as a farmer. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, and was a former longtime member and pianist for Evergreen Baptist Church. Mrs. Waldron was preceded in death by one Daughter, Anita Porter.
Survivors include; One Son, Danny (Sandy) O'neal, of Lake City; One Daughter, Fern (Bob) Bowen, of Youngsville, N.C. ; One Sister, Edna Inez Roberts O'toole, of Lancaster, Ca.; a Special Cousin, Jo Ella Humphries, of Branford; Six Grandchildren, Larry Porter and Aaron (Kristy) O'Neal, both of Lake City, Sean (Dara) Bowen, of Minot, N.D., Donn Bowen, of Waco, TX, Faye (Bill) Hubbard, of Yulee, and Charles (Barbie) Houston, of Orange Park. Numerous Great Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 29, 2001, at 1:00 P.M., in the Bethelem Baptist Church, with Rev. Lowell O'steen, church pastor, officiating, and Rev. Lewis Daniels, assisting. Interment will follow in Bethelem Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Friday, September 28, 2001, from 6 to 8 P.M., at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bethelem Baptist Church, Post Office Box 3325, Lake City, Florida 32055, or to Hospice of North Central Florida, 1900 Florida Gateway Boulevard, Lake City, Florida 32055. Robert Douglas McGrath
Robert Douglas McGrath, 78, a resident of Lake City, Florida died Saturday September 29, 2001 at the Lake City Medical Center, Lake City, Florida.
Mr. McGrath was a native of Athens, Ohio and had resides in Lake City for the past twenty-four years. He retired from the Wright Patterson Air Force Base after 35 years of working for the Civil Service. Mr. Garth was also a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He also was a member of the Sexy Seniors and the Golden Oldies Bowling Teams and was a member of the National Rifle Association and of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He is the son of the late Maywood and Estella McGrath.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Patricia McGrath, Lake City, Florida, One daughter: Patricia "Missy" and (Fernando) Morales, Lake City, Florida, Three sons: Michael D. McGrath and Jon P. McGrath both of Dayton, Ohio and Tim R. (Lori) McGrath, One sister: Juanita Martin, Xenia, Ohio One Brother: Williard (Kay) McGrath, Memphis, Tenn. One Sister-in-law Judi Hosford, Lake City, Fl. Six grandchildren: Bryan Dukes and Jeffrey Dukes, Lake City, Robert McGrath and Travis McGrath, Dayton, Ohio Brittany (Jeff) Glass, Dayton, Ohio and Michelle McGrath, Dayton, Ohio. Two Great Grandchildren: Becca Glass, Dayton, Ohio and Ryan Burke, Dayton, Ohio. Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. McGrath will be conducted Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. in the Sherrill-Guerry Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Louie Mabrey, officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday October 1, 2001 from 6-8 at the Funeral Home. Elizabeth Catherine Powell, Two weeks old, died early Sunday morning, Sept. 30 at her home.
She is survived by her parents William Gregory Powell and Jessica Leigh Black both of Jasper. FL.; A sister, Tabitha Ann Powell, White Springs, FL.; Paternal Grandparents, William Powell, White Springs, FL. and Ann Powell, Grove Hill, AL.; Maternal Grandparents, John Black, Jasper, FL. and Wanda Black, White Springs, FL.; Paternal Great Grandmother, Ester Po-well, White Springs, FL. and Maternal Great Grandmother, Lottie Cooper, Jasper, Fl.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 3, in the Chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Troy Allen Diamond
Mr. Troy Allen Diamond, 37, resident of Lake City, Florida, died Tuesday, October 2, 2001, in the North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, following a long illness.
Mr. Diamond was a native of Charleston, South Carolina, and had resided in Lake City, since 1986, having moved here from Lake Mary, Fla. Mr. Diamond had been employed by Al's Motorcycle and by Mike's Bike Shop in Lake City.
Survivors include; His Mother and Step-Father, Dorothy & Frank Holtzclaw, of Lake City; One Son Christopher Diamond, of Lake City; One Brother, Fonda West, of Live Oak; Two Sisters, Crystal Diamond, of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Linda Roberts, of Sanford, Fla.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 5, 2001, at 10:00 A.M., in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, Thursday, October 4, 2001, from 5 to 7 P.M., at the funeral home.

Clayton "Robert" Waldron, age 60, of White Springs, FL passed away early Tuesday, October 2, 2001 in Akron, Ohio.

Eddie Williams
Mr. Eddie Williams, 42, of Jacksonville died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001 in a Jax. hospital from injuries sustained in an auto-bike accident on July 15, 1999.
He was a lifelong resident of Jax. and was a Baptist. Eddie enjoyed fishing, bicycling and working with animals with Dr. Kennard's Vet office in Jax.
Survivors include his mother: Helen (Steve) George of Lake City, FL; father: Charles T."Tommy" Williams; maternal grandmother; Savannah Victoria Nixon; paternal grandmother: Mrs. Kathy Hewitt, 2 sisters: Toni (Bobby) Williams, Debbie (Bobby) Houdershelt; 2 brothers: Charles T. Williams, II, & Richard C. Williams; nieces & nephews: Christina, Robert & Aaron Williams; Victoria, Michael, & Thomas Fingulin and Kenny Kwaak; 2 uncles: Leo (Jeannette) Nixon & Bobby (Sharon) Nixon; 2 aunts: Mary (Cecil) Schmitz & Mary Nixon and a number of cousins and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday October 4, 2001 at PEEPLES FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, North Jacksonville Chapel, 2220 Soutel Dr. in Jax. (904) 764-2542.
Additional services and burial will be held at 2 PM at Price Creek Cemetery in Lake City with Rev. Jim Steele of Huntsville Baptist Church in Lake City, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ruth E. Brandon
Mrs. Ruth E. Brandon, age 84, of Wellborn died late Tuesday evening October 2, 2001 in the Lake City Medical Center.
A native of Terre Haute, Indiana Mrs. Brandon moved to Wellborn in 1996 from Wimauma, Florida. Mrs. Brandon was of the Baptist faith and attended the Fellowship Baptist Church in Wellborn. Two hobbies that Mrs. Brandon enjoyed were crocheting and needlework. Her main interest in life was tending to her duties as a homemaker.
Mrs. Brandon was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Mr. William H. Brandon on April 23, 1977.
Mrs. Brandon is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Lucy Wood (William) of Well-born, three brothers Mr. Theodore Wood and Gene Wood of Indianapolis, Indiana and Dean Wood, Tipton, Indiana. Four grandchildren, thirteen greatgrandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 14, 2001 at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Wellborn at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Tommy Cannon officiating. Another memorial service will be held at a later date at the Northside Nazarene Church in Terre Haute, Indiana with interment services at the Woodlawn Cemetery also in Terre Haute. Cremation Arrangements are under the direction of the BIGGS FUNERAL HOME, 3801 South First Street, Lake City.

Helen Eloise Huckins
Mrs. Helen Eloise Huckins, 71, of Lake City, died Monday October 1, 2001 at her residence in Lake City.
A native of Antrim County, Michigan, Mrs. Huckins moved to Lake City twenty years ago from Ft. Lauderdale. Two hobbies which Mrs. Huckins enjoyed were quilting and craft work.
Mrs. Huckins is survived by four sons, one daughter, two brothers and one sister.
Family memorial services will be held at a later date in Boyne City, Michigan.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Biggs Funeral Home, 3801 South First Street, Lake City.

Buis M. Jonas
Buis M. Jonas, 92, of Branford, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2001 in his home after a long illness.
The Gulf Hammock, FL native moved to Branford from Palmetto, FL, was the owner/operator of Jonas Survey Stakes in Branford, and a member of Burlington Santa Fe Church of Christ, Branford.
Survivors include four Daughters: Aletha Jonas, Leesburg, FL, Alice Jonas Branford, FL, Gloria Wilkerson, Orlando, FL and Glenda Sanford, Eagle Lake, FL; three Sons: Larry Jonas, Valdosta, GA, Elon Jonas, Fort Mojave, AZ, Lee Jonas, Marco Island, FL; three Sisters: Elva Ordway, Seffner, FL, Edna Courter, Steinhatchee, FL and Onie Lee Sellers, Lawrenceville, GA; one Brother: Gene Jonas, Pontiac, MI; seventeen Grandchildren and nineteen Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 AM Saturday, October 6, 2001 at Burlington Santa Fe Church of Christ, Branford, with Mr. Richard Sain, Mr. Melvin Barker and Mr. James Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in the Santa Fe Cemetery, Branford.
Visitation will be held in Mr. Jonas' Home (at the mill), 3129 U.S. 27, Branford, FL. DANIELS FUNERAL HOME of Branford in charge of all arrangements.

Bernice Broughton Murray
Bernice Broughton Murray, 83, of Stonewall, NC, died Sunday, September 30, 2001, in Gainesville, FL.
She was a member of Trent FWB Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her hus-band, Ray Murray.
She is survived by one son, Marvin (Buddy) Murray of Lake City, FL; three daughters, Anna Ruth Robinson of Bayboro, Betty M. Arnold of Stonewall and Verdie M. Lee of New Bern; two brothers, Walter Hugh Broughton of Vera Beach, FL, and Louis D. Broughton of Arapahoe; one sister, Idell Robinson of Oriental; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 4, 2001 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Graham Lane and Rev. Curt Bellinger. Burial will be in the Don-Lee Cemetery in Arapahoe.
The family will receive friends 7:00-8:30 PM Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ray Murray, 85 Alligator Loop Road, Stonewall.

Glenda Carol Sigmon Sundrla, 37, a resident of Lake City, Florida died, Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida after an extended illness.
Mrs. Sundrla had lived in Lake City, Florida for five years coming from Lin-den, Michigan. She was a registered nurse and employed by Lake City Medi-cal Center; she also was an architectural artist, landscape designer and loved animals.
Mrs. Sundrla was the beloved daughter of, mother, Brenda (Thomas) Crutchfield, Lake City Florida; and father, Walter (Millie) Sigmon, Reedyard, Michigan, her husband, Theodore Sundrla, Milford, Michigan; Mrs. Sundrla was the beloved mother of three daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Sundrla, Brooke Ashley Sundrla and Whitney Brionne Sundrla all of Lake City, Flori-da; one brother Walter Glenn (Lisa) Sigmon, Jr., Northville, Michigan; Aunt, Carol Forbes, Northville, Michi-gan; Aunt Cheryl Hardison, Newbern, NC; Great Aunt, Mary Russell, Lake City, Florida. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Skyler James Dunn and Keelan Aaron Sundrla Dunn both of Lake City, Florida; a special friend Fred Cope of Lake City, Florida; nephews, Ryan and Jason, a niece, Hannah and many beloved cousins.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sundrla will be conducted on Friday, October, 5, 2001, 2:00 P.M. at the Evergreen Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Hedglen officiating. Clayton "Robert" Waldron, age 60 of White Springs, Fl. passed away Tuesday, October 2, in Akron, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, Oct. 6 at Christ Central Ministries Church, Lake City, Fl. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Jasper, Fl.. Deacon Ernest Akins
Deacon Ernest Akins, 89 life long resident of Fort White died Saturday, Sep-tember 29, 2001 at Shands at Shands at the University of Florida.
He was a retired construction worker. A member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Ft. White where he served faithfully and loyal as a deacon.
He is survived by his former wife Maggie Akins; Two sons Arthur and Eric Akins both of Fort White; Six Daughters, Ernestine Holland, Mary Legree, Elizabeth Smith and Essie Akins all of Fort White. Barbara Cannon of Florida City, FL and Frances Griffin of Immokalee, Fla.,
Granddaughter whom he raised Phyllis (William) Watson, Two sisters, Marie Moore of Monticello, Fl and Lena Bell of Tifton, Ga., Thirty-two grandchildren, forty-seven great grand-children and six great great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dea. Akins will be Saturday, October 6, 2001 at 1:00 O'clock at Antioch Missionary Church, Fort White, Rev. William Jones, Pastor. Burial will be in Heavenly Rest Cemetery . Visitation will be Friday 6:00-8:00 PM. The Processional will form at his daughter's home Ernestine Holland at 12 noon.

Benny Curtis Bowden
Benny Curtis Bowden, age 52, died Wednesday, October 3rd at his resi-dence in Lake City.
Born in Firco, WV, Mr. Bowden lived in Lake City for 29 years having moved from Alderson, WV. Mr. Bowden, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and member of the American Legion Post 57, worked as a superintendent for an environmental company. Mr. Bowden was an accomplished musician and vocalist who played guitar and keyboard. Mr. Bowden's favorite pastimes were sailing and flying.
Preceding Mr. Bowden in death is his father, Benny B. Bowden.
Surviving Mr. Bowden is his wife Deb-bie, his mother Gladys Bowden and grandmother, Annie Midkif. Also surviving is one son, Steven Smith, one stepson, Scott Pruitt, seven stepdaughters, Joetta McKelvey, Melanie Baker, Bobbi Davidson, Sonya and Paula Morgan, Shelly Conn and Brandy Russell, four sisters, Carol Shanklin, Shirley Huffman, Sandra Davis and Sue Cowan, one granddaughter, Amber Smith and twelve step grandchildren.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors by the U.S. Navy will be celebrated for Mr. Bowden, Saturday, October 6th at 1pm, at Columbia Funeral Home, Chaplain Larry Geiger presides.
In lieu of flowers the Bowden family requests donations be made to Hospice of North Central Florida, 1900 Florida Gateway Center Blvd., Lake City, FL 32024 or to the charity of your choice.

Mrs. Rosalie Brown, 75, a of 1566 Coldwater Street, Lake City, Florida passed away Monday, October 1, 2001 at North Florida Regional Hospital, Gainesville, Florida after a brief illness.
Survivors include: one son; Shawn Brown, One sister; Lutishia Elliott, both of Lake City, Florida; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Janice and Marquita Givens, Lake City, Florida; three special nephews, Michael King and Kenny Murray, Lake City, Florida, and Melvin King, Jacksonville, Florida; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and sor-rowing friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2001, at Olivet Baptist Church, Lake City, Florida with the Reverend Dr. H.M. Moss officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 5, 2001 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Caesar's Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown will repose at the Olivet Baptist Church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service, there will be no viewing following the eulogy. Sylvester Davis
Sylvester Davis, 77 of 61 East Fronie Street, Lake City, Florida passed away Saturday September 29, 2001 at Kin-dred Hospital of Green Cove Springs after a brief illness.
He had lived in Lake City, FL. about 20 years.

Elizabeth "Liz" Thomas Mathews
Mrs. Elizabeth "Liz" Thomas Mathews, 76, resident of Starke, FL died Tuesday night, October 2, 2001 at Shands Jacksonville following a brief illness.
She was born and raised in providence, FL and attended the Union County School System. She had resided in Starke since 1950. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Madison Street Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Roger and Lillie Gay Tanner and her first husband, Wilbur "Dutch" Thomas of Starke.
She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Mathews of Starke, one son, Tommy Thomas of Starke, two daugh-ters, Linda Pace of Lake Butler, FL and Angela Faircloth of Chiefland, FL. One brother, Carl Tanner of Providence, seven Grandchildren and nine Great-Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 5, 2001 at Madison Street Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Crook officiating with burial in Old Providence Cemetery. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to Madison Church Building Fund.

Ralph Edward Powell, 86 of Lake City, Florida died, Monday October 1, 2001 at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Powell was a lifelong resident of Lake City. he was owner/operator of a pawnshop and a member of the American legion of Lake City, Florida. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by a son, Larry Powell.
Mr. Powell is survived by three grandchildren, Vicky (Michael) Carey of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Terry Szlosek, Port Orange, Florida, Ronny Powell, Ormond Beach, Florida. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Shawn Carey, Chad Powell and Braxton Powell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2001, at Olivet Baptist Church, Lake City, Florida with the Reverend Dr. H.M. Moss officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 5, 2001 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Caesar's Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown will repose at the Olivet Baptist Church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m . until the hour of service, there will be no viewing following the eulogy. Arrangements are entrusted to CAESAR & CHESTNUT FUNERAL HOME, 726 M.L.K. Drive, Lake City, Florida.

Lenore E. Denny
Mrs. Lenore E. Denny, 66, of Lake City, died late Thursday evening in the Lake City Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of East Town, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Denny had been a resident of Lake City for the past fourteen years, having moved here from Arizona. Mrs. Denny was a loving mother and homemaker. She loved to do arts & crafts and played the organ. Mrs. Denny was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Denny, was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Denny.
Mrs. Denny is survived by two daugh-ters, Cheri Selby (Scott), Rock Hill, South Carolina; Linda Shulgay, Florida; a brother, Phillip Read, Monroe, Washington; and a sister, Judith LaPine of New York, New York. Two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services for Mrs. Denny will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 9, 2001, in the Biggs Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Tyre officiating. Private family interment services will be held. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Lake City Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 58, Lake City, Florida 32056.
Arrangements are under the direction of the BIGGS FUNERAL HOME, 3801 S. First Street, Lake City.
