Funeral: 3 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church in Forman, N.D.
HAVANA, N.D. - Walter R. Barbknecht, 83, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in Forman, N.D.
Mr. Barbknecht was born Oct. 26, 1917, in Havana and was a 1935 graduate of Havana High School. He was employed at the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp near Medora, N.D., and was a farmer until 1957. He was employed in road construction and was a member of the Operators No. 49 Engineers Union. He retired in 1980. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Havana and was a member of the school board, the township board, the elevator board and the Havana Community Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William G. and Ida O. Kreiser Barbknecht; and three brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Ione Barbknecht of Forman; four sons, Larry Barbknecht of Michigan City, Ind., Steven Barbknecht of Ocean Springs, Bill Barbknecht of Underwood, Minn., and Joseph Barbknecht of Dallas; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 3 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church in Forman where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Havana Cemetery. Price Funeral Chapel in Forman is in charge of arrangements.

Daisy Ethel Barrale
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Riemann Funeral Home Chapel in Long Beach.
LONG BEACH - Mrs. Daisy Ethel Barrale, 79, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Barrale was a native of Harrison County and a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She was retired as a seamstress with Pass Christian Industries and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis M. Barrale; a son, Louis Barrale Jr.; her parents, Tilton and Georgianne Shavers; a brother, John Shavers; and a sister, Rebecca Mason.
Survivors include a son, Henry Barrale of Long Beach; a daughter Mrs. James "Rosie Ann" Crutchfield of Long Beach; a brother, William Shavers of Long Beach; three sisters, Willie Cuevas of Lizana and Helen Ladner and Ella Mae Ladner, both of Pass Christian; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to midnight tonight at Riemann Funeral Home in Long Beach with recitation of the rosary at 6:30. A service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with burial in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.

Blanche Bowman
Funeral: Graveside at 1 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tenn.
BILOXI - Blanche Shipley Headrick Bowman, 89, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at a local hospital in Biloxi.
Mrs. Bowman was a native of Chattanooga, Tenn. She was a graduate of Central High School, attended the University of Chattanooga and received her degree from Florida Southern College at Lakeland, Florida. She did graduate work at the University of Florida. Mrs. Bowman was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chattanooga, the Mary Class, Delta Kappa Gamma, Alpha Society. She was a member of Hamilton County Teachers Association and Tennessee Retired Teachers. She was a former member of the American Association of University Women. She taught school a number of years in Hamilton County and Chattanooga City. She was the daughter of Silas H. and Ruthy Jane Shipley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leonard, Clyde, Paul and Fletcher Shipley; and husbands, G. Vernon Headrick and Arnold W. Bowman.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Headrick Fountain of D'Iberville; one granddaughter, Be-Be (Blanche Bernice) Fountain of D'Iberville; one grandson, Forrest Fountain of D'Iberville; one great-grandson, Destin Fountain of D'Iberville; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home East. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga with Dr. Gary Carver officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Goldengateway, Chattanooga, TN.

Doris Elaine Favre
Funeral: 2 p.m. today at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport.
SAUCIER - Mrs. Doris Elaine Favre, 64, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, in Saucier.
Mrs. Favre was a lifelong resident of Gulfport and was a member of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Spiers; and a brother, Johnny "Boy" Spiers.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Favre of Saucier; a son, Gilbert Favre of Gulfport; six daughters, Brenda Bailey of Saucier, Debra Bennett of Lyman, Wanda Myers and Tammy Owen, both of Pass Christian, Janet Dedeaux of Gulfport, and Heather Molina of Meridian; two brothers, James Spiers Jr. of Gulfport and Arthur Spiers of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Louise Jackson and Florence Cuevas, both of Gulfport; 22 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. today at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport where friends may call two hours before service time. Burial will be in Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport.

Helen Grant
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi.
BILOXI - Helen Grant, 77, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Grant was born in Triplett, N.C.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Walser.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil L.T. Grant of Biloxi; a son, Ted Grant of San Marcos, Texas; three sisters, Blanda Martin and Alma Hartley, both of Lenoir, N.C., and Stella Dobbins of Blowing Rock, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi.

Michael Glenn Hale
Funeral: Noon today at Riemann Funeral Home Chapel, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi.
BILOXI - Michael Glenn Hale, 45, of Biloxi, died Saturday, October 14, 2000, at home after a long struggle with cancer.
Mr. Hale was a native of Texas and was raised in Louisiana. He moved to Biloxi in 1981. He served his country in the Air Force for over 20 years. He was a Master Instructor of Navigational Aids Equipment. Since his retirement he has been employed as a Revenue Auditor at the Grand Casino, Gulfport, Treasure Bay, Biloxi, and most recently with Beau Rivage, Biloxi.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Charles Hale.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Barker Hale of Biloxi and family pets, Snow White, Rusty, Sox, Orangie, Missy, Katie and Snowball; his mother, Edna Hale of Mandeville, LA; his brothers, Ricky Hale of Mandeville, LA, and Randy Hale of Iowa; his sister, Lori Mariakis of Mandeville, LA; and his grandmother, Alice Mayhall of Houston, Texas.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at 12 p.m. in the chapel of Riemann Funeral Home on Beauvoir Road in Biloxi where friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.

Michael E. Hall

GULFPORT - Michael E. "Mike" Hall, 36, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in Jackson.
Mr. Hall was a native of Gulfport and was a graduate of Gulfport High School. He attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and was employed with the Olive Garden.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Hall; and his father, Mack "Chilly" Hall.
A memorial service will be at 6 tonight at Richmond Funeral Home in Gulfport.

GULFPORT - Lillie Lark, age unavailable, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in Gulfport.

Elizabeth A. Olsen
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs.
OCEAN SPRINGS - Elizabeth A. Olsen, 54, of Ocean Springs, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Olsen was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs. She was a graduate of Millsaps College and attended St. John's Episcopal Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a volunteer with the Ocean Springs Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Albritton and her husband Mike of Gulfport; a brother, Benjamin Long of Kempner, Texas; and four grandchildren, Kristen Daly, Jason Albritton, Matthew Albritton, and Douglas Albritton of Gulfport.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. A service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at St. John Episcopal Church where friends may call one hour before service time. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.

Deborah Rene Phelps
Funeral: 10 a.m. today at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi.
BILOXI - Deborah Rene Phelps, 44, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Phelps was born in Greenville and had been a resident of Biloxi since 1968. She was a graduate of Biloxi High School and was employed as the Clinique counter manager at Gayfers for 15 years. She was a member of Cedar Lake Christian Assembly.
Survivors include two daughters, Marissa Trochesset and Megan Phelps; her parents, Charles E. Fields and Elinor Fields, all of Biloxi; and a grandson.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. A service will be at 10 a.m. today in the funeral home chapel with burial in Southern Memorial Park.

Lena Rutherford
Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Picayune.
PICAYUNE - Lena Rutherford, 94, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in Picayune.
Mrs. Rutherford was a native of Pearl River County and was a retired school teacher. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Picayune.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Beth Fillingame of Picayune; and a sister, Esther Harriell of Picayune; and two granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune. A service will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Picayune with burial in New Palestine Cemetery.

William D. Saucier Sr.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Riemann Funeral Home Chapel, 25th Ave., Gulfport.
GULFPORT - William D. Saucier Sr., 61, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000 in Niceville, Fla.
Mr. Saucier retired from the Army after 20 years of service and served in Vietnam. He was the maintenance supervisor for Riemann Funeral Homes on the Gulf Coast.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Saucier; a son, Joseph Darius Saucier; his parents, James and Evelyn Saucier; and a brother, James Saucier.
Survivors include three sons, William D. Saucier Jr. of Niceville, Denton Thompson and Dale Thompson, both of Gulfport; a daughter, Danna Thompson of Gulfport; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation was Sunday at Riemann Funeral Home on 25th Avenue in Gulfport. A service will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the funeral home chapel with burial in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society, 182-A DeBuys Road, Biloxi, MS 39531-4402.

James M. Schmidt Sr.
ST. MARTIN - James M. Schmidt Sr., 71, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in St. Martin.

Albert C. Seay
Funeral: Graveside at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Biloxi National Cemetery.
BILOXI - Albert C. "Pete" Seay, 74, of Biloxi, died Saturday, October 14, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Seay was born in Vaughn, MS. He served in the military for 27 years. He served during the World War II, Korea, and Vietnam wars. He retired August 1969 from the USAF as a Tech/Sgt.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald D. Seay.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam Dalton of Ocean Springs and Tina Laufhette of Biloxi; a son, Clifton Seay of Ocean Springs; and three sisters, Clara Irwin of Canton, MS, Inez Speaks of Madison, MS, and Camille Seay of Pascagoula, MS.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at Biloxi National Cemetery.

Wayne Paul Sipple
PERKINSTON - Wayne Paul Sipple, 53, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in Harvey, La.
Mr. Sipple was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and was employed as a tugboat engineer with Zapata Marine. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Marie Sipple of Perkinston; two sons, John Sipple of Kenner, La., and Jason Sipple Dupree of Houma, La.; a daughter, Doris Paolicelli of Brooklyn; his mother and stepfather, Josephine and Noel Genis of Perkinston; three brothers, Harvey Greenberg of Brooklyn, Alan Greenberg of Picayune and Barry Greenberg of Staten Island, N.Y.; and a grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Picayune Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Josephine L. Smith

BAY ST. LOUIS - Josephine Lubrano Smith, 78, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in Bay St. Louis.
Mrs. Smith was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Bay St. Louis. She was a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Smith Sr.; her parents, Antonio and Angelina DiMacco Lubrano; two brothers, Michael Lubrano and Raymond Lubrano Sr.; and two sisters, Carmen Olivier and Antoinette Anderson.
Survivors include three sons, Louis J. Smith Jr. of Madisonville, La., Ronald P. Smith of McCall Creek, and Rene C. Smith of Diamondhead; four daughters, Carolyn Smith Obiol of Jefferson, La., Kathleen Smith Woodley of Elgin, Texas, Terry S. Wilson of Orlando, Fla., and Jo Ann S. Johnson of Bay St. Louis; two brothers, Benedict Lubrano of Chalmette, La., and Anthony Lubrano of Harahan, La.; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis where friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum in Bay St. Louis.
The family prefers memorials to Hospicare, Inc., 546 Menge Ave., Pass Christian, MS 39571.

Lyle W. Winklepleck

WAVELAND - Lyle W. Winklepleck, 84, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in Bay St. Louis.
Mr. Winklepleck was a native of Waterville, Kan., and was a resident of Waveland. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bay St. Louis. He was an Army veteran and was a member of VFW Post 3253 in Bay St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Waldo and Rachel Bolejack Winklepleck.
Survivors include his wife, Lucile Young Winklepleck of Waveland; two sons, Lyle M. Winklepleck of Diamondhead and Gary L. Winklepleck of Columbus, Miss.; two daughters, Gwynne Lesher of Paola, Kan., and Judy Pomerleau of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Dorothy Hiltgen of Waterville, and Nadine Lewis of Shreveport, La.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Bay St. Louis. A private burial will be in Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum in Bay St. Louis. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis is in charge of arrangements.

Sarah Marie Yarbrough

BILOXI - Sarah Marie Yarbrough, 71, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in Tulsa, Okla.
Mrs. Yarbrough was a homemaker and a member of Bay Vista Baptist Church in Biloxi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Yarbrough.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheryl Anne Scott of Austin, Texas, and Susan Marie Olier of Biloxi; a son, Lamar Yarbrough of Tulsa; a brother, Harold Boleware of Jackson; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 10 a.m. today at Stringer Funeral Home in Crystal Springs with burial in Crystal Springs Cemetery.
