Mary Jane excelled in soft ball, bowling and archery, was very active in PTA work at Hartwell School, was a member of Hartwell Valley Seniors Assoc. and Hartwell Alumni Assoc. and was a strong supporter of Native American activities and reservation charities. DePRATO, JOSEPH, age 77, passed away July 31, 2002, at the V.A. Medical Center in Cincinnati. Born March 1, 1925, in Somerset, KY, the son of the late Richard L. and Glenna Prather DePrato. Father of the late Beverly DePrato Freeman, grandfather of Thoren Freeman of Texas, brother of Donald and Richard (Betty) DePrato, Mary Helton, Joyce (Thomas) Glass, Janette (Benny) Mullinix of Somerset, KY, and the late Charles Robert, Franklin Lee and Jesse Darrell DePrato and Lois DePrato Weddle. Joseph served in the U.S. Navy Pacific Theater during WW II. DICKERSON, CHARLES EDWIN, affectionately known as "Red the Barber," died August 4, 2002, at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred, son Gary (Kathy) and grandson Scott (Tracy). HERBORT, EDWARD M., loving husband of the late Lilla Mae Herbort, beloved son of the late Fred and Anna Herbort, born in St. Louis, MO, July 17, 1914, father of Richard, Paul and Jerome Herbort and Catherine Mondie, survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, brother of Victor, Jim and the late Fred, Vincent and Raymond Herbort and Margaret Stall. Tuesday, August 6, 2002, age 88. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's. Retired from the Celotex Corp., past member of the Elmwood Place Fire Dept. and was one of the founding members of the Life Squad. Member of the St. Charles Benevolent Society, Elmwood Place V.F.W. Post #1042, Elmwood Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1694 and 50 Club. Phillian, Nadine B.
PHILLIAN, NADINE (nee Beatty), died August 2, 2002, age 89. Mrs. Phillian was a 1935 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, a member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church, active in The Ohio State University Women's Golf Association and The Ohio State University Women's Club. After moving to Cincinnati, she and her husband were members of the Wyoming Golf Club. Survived by husband of 64 years, Harry E. Phillian, daughter Jody (Dr. Timothy) Pohlman and grandchildren Gunnar and Brittany Pohlman of Wyoming, OH. Private family interment Oakgrove Cemetery, Delaware, OH. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 10, at 1 p.m. at Overbrook Presbyterian Church, 4131 N High St., Columbus, OH. Family will receive friends following the service. Beloved wife of the late Bernie Sarchet, loving mother of Renee Erickson, Dawne Sarchet, Melanie Koewing, proud grandmother of Ned Erickson, Lee Erickson Giles, Laurel, Erin, Christopher, and Ashley Koewing, doting great-grandmother of Rebecca and Joshua Giles. She is also survived by a brother Olen Fisher and many nieces and nephews. All will miss her very much. Testa, S.F.P., Sr. Eva Marie

The service will be held on Mass Monday, October 14, 2002 at St. Clare Convent Chapel at 10:30 a.m.
TESTA, SR. EVA MARIE, SFP, 88, entered into eternal life on October 10, at Mercy Franciscan Hospital, Mt. Airy. Sister was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers. As a member of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor for 60 years, Sr. Eva Marie served as a pharmacist in several hospitals sponsored by her religious congregation. She earned her degree from the Cincinnati College of Pharmacy. The highlight of her ministry were the 27 years she spent ministering to the patients and staff of Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, KY. She was honored for 4800 hours of volunteer work at the Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. John Noe on October 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Clare Convent Chapel with visitation Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Interment in the Convent Cemetery.
