Johnnie Fay Bush Corkern
(Died November 22, 1998)
MONTICELLO, MS - Johnnie Fay Bush Corkern, age 65, died of cancer Sunday night at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.
She was a resident of Montecello, MS and a former resident of Bogalusa.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg (Amy) Corkern and Clay (Michelle) Corkern; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Veta (Phillip) Russell, Kathy (Sidney) Walker, Pam Corkern, all of Monticello, MS, and Sharon Corkern of Jackson, MS; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman (Marie) Bush of Tupelo, MS, and J.D. (Fay) Terrell of Varnado; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol Lynn (Mike) Warren of Varnado; her step-father, Dalcus Terrell of Varnado; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elme r (Gwen) Corkern, and Floyd (Elaine) Knight, all of Bogalusa; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. "Pete" Corkern; two sons, Wayne and Chris Corkern; and her mother, Essie Terrell.
Visitation is scheduled today from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS.
The funeral service will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Dunn officiating.
Interment will follow in Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Madison Aleeah Knight
(Died November 22, 1998)
BOGALUSA - Madison Aleeah Knight, age 11 months, died Sunday at Washington-St. Tammany Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her parents, Tim and Angie Knight of Bogalusa; one brother, Tiler Scott Knight of Bogalusa; paternal grandparents, Milton and Nita Knight of Bogalusa; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Matherne of New Orleans; maternal grandfather, Roy Rowley of Houma; and paternal great-grandmother, Edith Knight.
Visitation was held yesterday at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will continued this morning after 8:30 a.m.
The funeral service was scheduled to be held at the funeral home chapel today at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Billy Galloway officiating.
Interment followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Jeremy Chad Martin
(Died November 22, 1998)
FRANKLINTON - Jeremy Chad Martin, age 20, died Sunday at Riverside Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Katrina Kaye Smith Martin of Franklinton; his parents, the Rev. Lynn and Connie Ard Martin of Bogalusa ; his father and mother-in law, Leonard Alton and Sheila Busby Smith of Franklinton; his brother in law, Leonard Brent Smith of Franklinton; one brother, James Caleb Martin of Bogalusa; two sisters, Mrs. Percy (Bridget) Martin Knight, and Mrs. Tim (Shanda) Martin Slocum, all of Bogalusa; his paternal grandparents, Hezzie Larve and Rosalie Barber Martin of Pine; and his matern al grandparents, Ralph Steven and Mildred Strahan Ard of Oak Grove community.
Visitation was held yesterday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Ben's Ford Missionary Baptist Church and continued at 10 a.m. this morning at the church.
The funeral service was scheduled to be held at the church today at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lynn Martin, the Rev. Stacy Johnson, and the Rev. Jimmy Byrd officiating.
Interment followed at Ben's Ford Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Acy Barber, Steve Barber, Ryan Ard, Russell Smith, Dustin Newman, Danny Reeves, and Eric Scott.
Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Durward V. "Buddy" Cowart - (November 25, 1998)
NEW ORLEANS - Durward V. "Buddy" Cowart, age 79, died Monday in New Orleans.
He is survived by one son, David Alan Cowart; on daughter, Virginia Lee Hoffman; one brother, Oriece Cowart; one sister, Mildred Kuhn; five grandchildren, Celeste Dickson, Elie Hoffman, Sarah Hoffman, Heather Cowart, and Eric Cowart; and Charles and Kim Woessmer and Robert and Carol Hines and their children.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home located at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (In Metairie Cemetery) on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bridge House, 1141 Prytania, New Orleans, LA, 70130.

Maude Harvey
(Died November 24, 1998)
SANDY HOOK, MS - Maude Harvey, age 83, died Tuesday at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, MS.
A resident of Sandy Hook, MS, she was a native of Marion County and a housewife. She was also a Jehovah Witness
She is survived by one son, Walter Harvey of Sandy Hook, MS; three sisters, Effie Pearl Allen of Columbia, MS, Ruth Walsh of Biloxi, MS, and Shirley Darr of Sandy Hook, MS; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover T. Harvey; three brothers, Walter Brown Tolar, Jr., Frank Tolar, and Bob Tolar; four sisters, Maggie Frazier, Floyd Forbes, Flora Forbes, and Bertha Emily Tolar; and two half sisters, Birdie Patterson and Madie Slade.
Visitation was held yesterday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and today from 5 p.m until 9 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, located at 323 Second Street in Columbia, MS.
The funeral service will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.j
Interment will follow in Sandy Hook Baptist Cemetery.

Winnie Burch Bryant
(Died November 25, 1998)
FRANKLINTON - Winnie Burch Bryant, 88, died Wednesday at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
She is survived by two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Bolden and Grace Burch of Mt. Hermon, Oscar and Frances Burch of Jackson, MS., Louqettie Burch of Mt. Hermon and several neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. John T. Bryant; her parents, Walter and Delilah Burch; three sisters, Eursel Watkins, Leatrice Murray, Melissa Burch and a brother, Jake Burch.
Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home today after 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service.
A funeral service was held today at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Otho Schilling officiated.
Interment followed in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Lillie Keating Creel
(Died November 28, 1998)
MT. HERMON - Lillie Keating Creel, age 78, died Saturday morning at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge.
She is survived by two sons, Latimore E. Smith and Kendall Smith, both of Franklinton; seven daughters, Lucy Barber and Nelleen McKenzie, both of Franklinton, Rachel Morales of Prairieville, Connie Chaney of Kentwood, Hazel Sharp of Amite, Kathryn Creel of Laurel, MS, and Betty Adams of Slidell; two brothers, Latimore Keating of Mt. Hermon, and J.L. Keating of Sunny Hill; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will was held yesterday at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and continued this morning after 9 a.m.
The funeral service was scheduled for today at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow in Fisher Cemetery.

Irene Shirley Thomas Gilmore
(Died November 29, 1998)
PICAYUNE, MS - Irene Shirley Thomas Gilmore, age 58, died Sunday at Slidell Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Bogalusa and a resident of Picayune for seven years.
She is survived by her James Gilmore of Picayune, MS; five children, Shelia Barfield of Larose, Dee Boudreaux of Lockport, Michael Gill of Bogalusa, Joy Shelton of Waveland, MS, and Bradford Gill of Picayune, MS; one brother, George Thomas of Picayune, MS; four sisters, Margie Doughtie of French Settlement, Maudine Orgeron of Larose, Linda Talbot of Luling, and Hazel Doucet of Cut Off; her mother, Mrs. Mary R. Guidroz of Picayune, MS; and four grandchildren, Kristen, Jeremy, and Chelsey Barfield, and Alysha White.
She was preceded in death by her father, Porter Leon Thomas; one sister, Betty King; and one brother, Wiley Thomas.
Visitation is scheduled for today from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will continue tomorrow from 8 a.m. until service time at Brown McGehee Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at the funeral home chapel tomorrow at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in Thomas Cemetery in Thomas.

Kelly Naquin Hebert
(Died November 29, 1998)
ANGIE - Kelly Naquin Hebert, age 24, died yesterday at her residence in Angie.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Hebert; her parents, Debra and Joe Patterson of Bogalusa and Terry and Phyllis Naquin of Des Allemands; one brother, Joshua Patterson; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Donna Ard of Bogalusa; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Naquin of Houma; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be today at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 6:30 - 10 p.m. and will continue tomorrow at 9 a.m. until funeral time.
The funeral service will be tomorrow at 2 p.m in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Wilbur Jarrell officiating.
Interment will follow in Kennedy Cemetery in Crossroads, MS.

Linda Kay McBeth
(Died November 29, 1998)
BOGALUSA - Linda Kay McBeth, age 54, died yesterday at her residence in Bogalusa.
She is survived by her husband, Micheal McBeth of Bogalusa; two sons, Tony Morris of Rogers, AR, and Tracey Morris of Bogalusa; one daughter, Terri Kay Harper of Winnfield, KS; one sister, Charlene Addison of Georgia; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled today at Brown McGehee Funeral Home chapel from 6-10 p.m. and will continue tomorrow from 8 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Dennis Allen officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillview Memorial Gardens.

Archie Lee Sandifer
(Died November 25, 1998)
BOGALUSA - Archie Lee Sandifer, age 72, died Wednesday at his residence in Bogalusa.
He is survived by his wife, Charlie Stein Sandifer of Bogalusa; one son, David Lee Sandifer of Bogalusa; three daughters, Ruby Lee Sandifer, Mattie Lou Sandifer, and Luella Sandifer; three sisters in law, Johnnie Mae Sandifer of Chicago, IL, Ida Mae Charles of Raceland, and Jimmy Ruth Peters of Poplarville, MS; four brothers, Austin Howard Otis of Columbia, MS, George Dawson and James B. Dawson, both of Bogalusa, and Edward Charles of Raceland; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. and Alma Sandifer Cooper; and one brother, O.C. Sandifer.
Visitation will be tomorrow at Crain and Sons Funeral Home from 2-7 p.m.
Wake service will be tomorrow from 7 -8 p.m. at the funeral home parlor.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Greater Ebeneezer Baptist Church in Bogalusa with the Rev. Raymond Mims officiating.
Interment will follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.

Ramsey May
(Died December 2, 1998)
BOGALUSA - Ramsey May, age 75, died Wednesday at Washington-St. Tammany Regional Medical Center.
He was a resident of Bogalusa.
He is survived by three sons, Derrick Adams of Norfolk, VA, Cedric Adams and Raymond May, both of Bogalusa; three daughters, Rannella May and Robin May, both of Norfolk, VA, and Brittany Conerly of Bogalusa; one brother, Luther May, Jr. of Brookhaven, MS; one sister, Rosie Lee May of Jayess, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Alauim May and Mary Benson May.
Visitation is scheduled for today from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home parlor with the Rev. Stanley Nathaniel officiating.
Interment will follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.

Frankie Adams
(Died November 24, 1998)
TACOMA, WA - Frankie Adams, age 37, died last Tuesday at University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle WA.
He was a former resident of Bogalusa.
He is survived by one son, Cordy Adams of Germany; one daughter, Patrice Adams of Germany; his mother, Mrs. Betty Adams of Bogalusa; one brother, Lavon (Carolyn) Harry, Sr. of Varnado; three nephews, Levon, Jr., LaJordon and LeMarkis Harry, all of Varnado; two step-nieces, Eureka Williams of Irving, TX, and Edwana Smoots of Varnado; nine other brothers and sisters; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Frank Adams.
Visitation will be tomorrow at Crain and Sons Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Louis Brown, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.

FRANKLINTON - Mable Williams, age 80, died Saturday at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
She was a resident of Franklinton.
She is survived by four daughters, Donice Thomas, Jean Warren and Pansey "Bonnie" Williams, all of Franklinton, and Kaye W. Magee of New Orleans; two sons, Jimmie Watson of New Orleans, and Tommie Williams of Kentwood; one sister, Maggie Williams of Kentwood; 28 grandchildren and 23 great great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be tomorrow at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Family hour will be from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Union Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Frank Washington and the Rev. Jerome Warren officiating.
Interment will follow in Union Chapel Church Cemetery.
