Joseph LeMay
Joseph Ambrose LeMay, age 90 of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Friday, December 19, 2003. Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. If friends wish, memorial gifts may be made to the Kimball Fire Department. The Cantrell Funeral Home of Kimball is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born May 18, 1913 at Harvard, Neb., a son of Louis and Alexandria (Lambert) LeMay. Before coming to Kimball in the early 1940s, he lived in Norfolk and Superior, Neb. and in Sterling and Gunnison, Colo., and in California. He was a shoe repairman and had operated shops in Norfolk and later in Kimball. He also operated restaurants in Gunnison and Kimball.
Joe was very proud of the 25 years that he served on the Kimball Volunteer Fire Department. He has also served on the Board of Public Works and was a former member of the Lions Club. He loved fishing, enjoyed all sports, and was an avid fan of the Huskers and the Colorado Rockies
Joe was married to Amy Thompson in 1931. She died in 1944. Later that year, he married Florence Strauch in Kimball. She survives along with one son Larry Wayne LeMay and wife Sondra of Gunnison, Colo.; three daughters: Delores Arlene Eberl and husband Dick of Grand Island; Shirley Jeanne McAhren of Hawthorne, Calif.; and Nancy Marie Walls and husband Brad of Kimball; one daughter-in-law, Helen Mae LeMay of Arizona, and a sister Mary Louise Seyb of Hutchinson, Kan. Other survivors include 17 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, a son Richard, and four brothers and one sister.

Laurel L. Haeker
Laurel Louise Haeker, 57, of Parkville, Mo., passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2003, at North Kansas City Hospital with her family at her side after a 16-month battle with leukemia.
Memorial services were held Thursday, December 18 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Kansas City. A memorial has been established to Church of the Redeemer, 7110 Hwy. 9, N.W., Kansas City, MO 64152.
Laurel was born in Scottsbluff, Neb. December 12, 1946 to Ralph and Georgia (Lee) VanPelt. She was Valedictorian of her class at Banner Co High School. She attended Hastings College and received her degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan. She was an accountant for International Harvester and for Scott D. McRuer, CPA, L.L.C.
Laurel married Howard Haeker in December 1968 and they moved to Kansas City in 1972. She is survived by her husband; two children, Mona Kathryn and David Paul; three sisters Virginia Jones and Mona Baker of Tucson, Ariz., and Kathryn Noori of Raleigh, N.C., and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Kathryn and William Lee, and Lester and Luella VanPelt.
Laurel was a bright light of positivity, optimism, quick laughter and unselfishness. She was always first to listen and help others and a model for spirituality.

Erma Lucille Bohlmann
Erma Lucille Bohlmann, 84, of Kimball, died on Monday December 22, 2003 at Kimball Health Services. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 26, 2003 in Aurora, Colo. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery in Aurora, Colo.
Erma was born on a farm south of Palmyra, Neb. on May 11, 1919. She grew up and graduated from high school in Tecumseh, Neb. On October 5, 1940, she married Mervin “Brownie” Brown in Clarinda, Iowa. They moved to the front range area in Colorado where they were involved in the equipment rental business. After Brownie’s death in 1970, Erma continued to operate the rental store with her son Jim until she retired in 1980.
She married Frank Bohlmann in 1974 at Denver. Frank and Erma enjoyed retirement in Sun City, Ariz. until they moved to Kimball in 1996. Erma became a resident of the Kimball County Manor in 1997 where she resided until her death.
Survivors include son Jim and wife Rhonda, son Steve and wife Carolyn, all of Kimball, and daughter Jo An Pappas of Paradise, Calif., six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Mervin and Frank, and her sister, Viola Walsh of Tecumseh.

John ‘Bob’ Conour
John “Bob’ Conour, 81, of Sterling, Colo., died Monday, December 8, 2003. He worked for Orbit Drilling in Kimball in the past. Services were December 12 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Khris Kennedy. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial gifts can be made to the Chemotherapy Room at Sterling Regional Medical Center, Sterling, Colo.
John ‘Bob’ Conour was born Nov. 26, 1922 in Olney, Ill. to John and Mary (Ramsey) Conour. He married Lena Mae Price August 28, 1948 in Pickett, Ark. They moved to Oakley, Kan. in 1951 and to Sterling, Colo. in 1952, where he had resided ever since.
Employers of Mr. Conour included Don Rounds Drilling Co., Exeter Drilling Co., Orbit Drilling in Kimball, Neb., and New Orbit Drilling. He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a member of the Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife in August 2002. He is survived by four daughters: Shirley Wetherill, Pueblo, Colo.; Roberta Jordan, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Connie Conour, Sterling, Colo.; and Mary Park, Sterling, Colo.; and two sons: John A. Conour, Sterling, Colo. and James R. Conour, Sterling, Colo.; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Harold Moy
Harold Moy, 75, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 at the Kimball County Hospital after a long illness. He recently entered the Kimball Manor and his condition required a transfer to the Kimball Hospital where he passed away.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date due to the flu at the Kimball Manor. Memorials should be sent to the family at PO Box 126, Bushnell, NE, 69128.
Harold exemplified his love of life and his fellowmen by requesting that his body be donated to the Anatomical Board of the State of Colorado.
He was born May 21, 1928 at Waconia, Minn. He served in the Army during the Korean War, marrying Yvonne Wallace on July 3, 1968. He was the founder and owner of the Mullen Auto and Body Shop, in Mullen, Neb. In 1987, he and his wife Yvonne moved to Kimball and shortly thereafter became home owners in Bushnell. He served as acolyte to the priest at St. Hilda's Episcopal Church and took part in many church cursillo's until his health limited his activities and kept him house bound. Regaining his health was always foremost in his mind. He had telephone buddies whom he called every day. A little dog named Sadie enriched his life.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne, three sons, one stepson, and very special friend Maciej Nowakowski.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Mary Jean Good
Mary Jean Good, 69, of Lincoln, Neb. and formerly of Kimball, died Sat., Nov. 29, 2003 in Lincoln. Services will be at 3 p.m. on Thurs., Dec. 4, at Roper & Sons Funeral Services, Inc., 4300 ‘O’ St. in Lincoln. Inurnment services to follow in Kimball at a later date.
She was born January 13, l934, in Kimball and lived in Lincoln 48 years. She was a longtime hostess and banquet manager at Misty’s and Eddy’s restaurants and was retired.
She graduated from Kimball County High School in l951, attended the University in Lincoln, was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, VFW Auxiliary and a former board member of the Lincoln YWCA.
Survivors include her husband, Conrad (‘Con’); son Conrad Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Diane; grandchildren Conor and Riley; and daughter Lisa, all of Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law Sergeant Laurie, U.S. Army National Guard, Kuwait, and Bob Heironymus, Crete; brother and sister-in-law Jim and LeaAnne Christiansen, Kimball; sister Joan Johnson, Butte, Mont.; and nieces and nephews.
Roper & Sons Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Peggy Crandell
Funeral services for Peggy Fern Crandell, 72, of Levelland, Texas were Monday at 2 p.m. at George C. Price Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the City of Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors.
She died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
She was born Nov. 1, 1931 in Littlefield, Texas. She moved to Levelland in 1976 from Monahans, Texas. She was married to Schuyler "Scotty" Crandell on Oct. 10, 1951 in Kimball, Neb. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Post #4506 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include her husband, Schuyler Crandell of Levelland; two sons, Gary Lee Crandell and Scott Allen Crandell, both of Levelland; two daughters and their husbands, Vickie Lynn and Chris Jones, and Kimberly Fay and Mark Wills, all of Levelland; a brother, Bobby Richards of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters, Fayloa Griess of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Ava Lou Richards of Lubbock; a sister-in-law, Sherry Richards of Sidney Neb.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Norman C. Jacobsen
Norman Carl Jacobsen, 88, of Albin, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, in Albin. Services will be today 10 a.m., at the Albin Community Center with the Rev. Deb Olenyik officiating. Interment will be in the Albin Cemetery. Friends who wish may contribute to the Albin Fire Department.
Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes of Cheyenne, Wyo. Norman was born April 24, 1935, in Kimball, and had lived in Albin his entire life. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed as a harvester/farmer. He served on the Albin Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years and was a member of the Town Council. Norman loved the community, the local schools and the many friends of Albin.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn Jacobsen of Albin, whom he married June 7, 1963; sons and daughters-in-law, Kraig and Mary Jacobsen of Yuma, Colo., and Brad and Debbie Jacobsen of Albin; daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Ed Buchanan of Torrington; brother and sister-in-law George Wayne and Louise Jacobsen of Albin; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Pat Perreault of Cheyenne; half-brother and half-sister-in-law, Jack and Sally Jacobsen of St. George, Utah; grandchildren, Holly, Kirsten and Donte Jacobsen, Erin and Emily Buchanan and Courtney Werner; and nephews, Larry, Don and Ron Jacobsen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Minnie Jacobsen.

Kenneth D. Kleinholz
Kenneth D. Kleinholz 72 of Kimball, died Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at the Kimball Health Services facility after a brief battle with lung cancer.
Ken was born January 24, 1931 in Friend, Neb. to Conrad H. and Merna M. (Beeman) Kleinholz. He attended schools in Friend through the ninth grade, after which his family moved to Boulder, Colo. Ken graduated from Boulder High School in 1948. He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder on a Navy ROTC scholarship. He earned a bachelor of arts in Physical Education and was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy upon graduation.
On January 10, 1952, Ken married Frances E. Gifford in Lincoln, Neb. and to their union three children were born: Jeffrey D. Kleinholz; Karen E. (Kleinholz) Dotolo, and Kirk A. Kleinholz. Ken and Frances were divorced in 1963.
After graduation, commissioning and a honeymoon in the Black Hills and in Lincoln, Ken reported for active duty aboard the USS Menifee, then stationed in San Diego, Calif. Shortly thereafter, his ship’s home base was changed to Long Beach, Calif. During his three years of naval service, Ken’s ship spent nine months on station in Japanese and Korean waters.
In 1955, Ken resigned his commission as a Lieutenant JG in the Navy and moved with his family to Kimball, where he and his brother Ted farmed together, and later by himself through 1960. In addition, he taught math and physical education at Kimball County High School in 1957 and 1958. Ken and his brother built the KimBowl bowling alley, and Ken was a co-owner until 1961 when he sold his interest to his brother.
In 1967, Ken married Joyce M. (Reed) Kleinholz. They were married for 22 years but had no children. During their marriage they lived in Davis and Vacaville, Calif.; Cooke City, Mont. and Santa Barbara, Calif. Ken taught Junior High and High School in California for more than 20 years. He and Joyce also owned and operated the Cooke City Corral cafÈ near Yellowstone Park for six years. Ken and Joyce were divorced in 1989, but remained close friends, and Ken counted Joyce’s parents and siblings among his dearest friends.
In 1994, Ken retired from teaching in California and returned to Kimball. He purchased a home where he lived until his death; Ken still owned one-half section of wheat land east of Kimball.
During his final illness, Ken received extraordinary and loving care from the entire staff of Kimball Health Services, for which his family is eternally grateful.
Ken should be remembered as a loving and humorous man who had many friends and a family who was proud of him. He is survived by his three children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. At his request, Ken is to be cremated and his remains are to be scattered over the Pacific Ocean by his family. He also requested that no services be held. His family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be sent to the Kimball Health Services Foundation.

Frances G. Warner
Frances Grace Warner, 98 of Kimball, Neb., formerly of Lexington, died Thursday, November 20, 2003, at the home of her son Jim and daughter-in-law Ann Warner in Kimball.
She was born April 13, 1905 at Omaha, Neb. to Harley C. and Grace (Gilbert) Adams.
As a child, she lived in the Benedict/Bradshaw, Neb. area; she then moved to the Sumner/Overton area in 1917. She was united in marriage to Murry Thomas Warner on June 22, 1923, at Minden, Neb. The couple was blessed with eleven children. They farmed and ranched in the Overton/Sumner area. While on the farm, Frances did not have many modern conveniences raising their children, but she always managed to get the job done in a loving manner.
Survivors include five sons: Ben, Raymond, Lewis, Jim, and Larry; two daughters; one sister; three daughters-in-law; thirty-two grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Murry, on Nov. 29, 1963; four sons: Murry Jr., Robert, John, and David; one sister, Mary Easton; and a grandson, Buddy McCurry.
Services were Nov. 26. Memorials in lieu of flowers are kindly suggested to the First Christian Church or the Lexington Foundation Library Fund. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington was in charge of arrangements.

Agnes Rose Eisele
Agnes Rose Eisele, 78, of Kimball passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2003 at Kimball Health Services. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 28, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Cantrell Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Daves officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 27, 2003 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to the Agnes Eisele Memorial Fund. Cantrell Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
Mrs. Eisele was born on February 21, 1925 in Oshkosh, Neb. to Raymond and Bessie (Baird) Yetter. She married Gerald Eisele on December 22, 1951 in Kimball. They made their home in Kimball.
She was an active homemaker and babysat children. She enjoyed her cats, cooking and baking and gardening. She will be remembered for her love of country music and dancing.
Mrs. Eisele is survived by her husband, Gerald, a son Jim Eisele of Kimball, a daughter Elanor Saunders of Renton, Wash., and a sister Cermel Haney of Boone, Colo. Five grandchildren and two great-granchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Violet Van Housen and brother Howard Yetter.

Irene V. Myrvik
Irene V. Myrvik, age 82 of Adams, N.D., passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Funeral services were Tuesday, November 11 at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Lankin, N.D.
She is survived by her daughter Carol (Bruce) Sigette of Kimball; granddaughter Michelle (Kevin) Bridgewater of Meridian, Idaho; great grandchildren: Jessica (Adam) Green and Brittany (Conrad) Swartz, great great grandson Braydon Swartz, and sisters: Maxine (Nick) Sveen and Yvonne Skyrud both of Edinburg, N.D. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Chester Feb. 16, 2001; brothers Vernon, Maynard and Raymond; her niece Nancy, and nephews Richard, Ronald and Terrance.
The Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg, N.D. was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth E. VanNatter
Ruth E. VanNatter, 89, a resident of Kimball, died at Memorial Health Center in Sidney, Neb. on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003. Memorial services were held Monday, Nov. 17 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Rev. Roger Gillming officiating. Cremation has taken place and there was no visitation. Memorials may be given to either the Scottsbluff Humane Society or the United Methodist Church in Kimball.
Ruth Elizabeth VanNatter was born on June 25, 1914 in Amelia, Neb. the daughter of William and Jennie (Hiatt) Mulligan. She was raised and attended school in Amelia until moving with her parents and sister Agnes to Bridgeport, Neb. where she graduated from high school. After graduation she went to work at the general store in Hemingford, Neb. While in Hemingford she lived in a Boarding House. She later moved back to Bridgeport and worked at the Courthouse and took care of her parents. She then went to work for the Sioux Army Depot and retired after 27 years of service. She was married to Elmer VanNatter on March 10, 1951 in Scottsbluff. They moved to Sidney and lived at Omar Court Apartments until buying there own home. She moved to Kimball in 1996 and lived there until the time of her death. She loved nature, news, books and anything that she could learn. She also enjoyed painting, crocheting, music and writing poetry. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Agnes and infant sister Bonnie May.
She is survived by her son, Bruce VanNatter and his extended family Christopher Christenson all of Kimball.

Darrel E. Harvey
Darrel E. Harvey, 89 of Harrisburg, Neb. died Thursday, November 06, 2003 at Heritage Health Care Center in Gering.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at the Hull United Methodist Church with Pastor Sheila Taylor officiating. Interment was at Pleasant Hill (Hull) Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the church. Friends called at Gering Memorial Chapel Sunday, Nov. 9 and Monday, Nov. 10.
Darrel was born on October 23, 1914 in Harrisburg, Neb. to Earl and Ethel (Cross) Harvey. He grew up and received his education in the country schools in Banner County.
On May 16, 1938, Darrel was united in marriage to Maxine Watson in Alliance, Neb. Darrel lived in Banner County all of his life as a farmer and rancher. His wife Maxine died April 24, 1995. On July 18, 1997, Darrel married Harlene Stroud. In 1997 Darrel retired and moved to Scottsbluff.
Darrel enjoyed playing cards and riding his horse. He also enjoyed helping his neighbors round up cattle and at branding time.
He belonged to the Knights of Pythias for 25 years and the Harrisburg Volunteer Fireman for many years. He also was a member of the Hull United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Robert and Sharon Harvey of McCook, Neb.; daughter and son-in-law Connie and Jerry Soule of Harrisburg, Neb.; five grandchildren: Dale (Shelley) Harvey of Scott City, Kan., Linda Harvey of Lincoln, Shawn (Heidi) Harvey of Mitchell, Wade (Kimberly) Soule of Scottsbluff and Kimberly (Trevor) Petsch of Meriden, Wyo.; and eight great grandchildren.
Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Maxine, second wife Harlene, two brothers and four sisters.
Gering Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Larry M. Sandberg
Larry M. Sandberg, 75, of Gering, was called home on Friday, November 7, 2003 at Heritage Health Care Center in Gering. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Central Church Of Christ in Gering with Pastors Victor McPeak and Howard Roseberry officiating. Interment was in West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Friends called at the funeral chapel Monday, November 10 and Tuesday, November 11. Memorials have been established to the Farm And Ranch Museum in Gering or to the Banner County Museum. Gering Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
He was born July 26, 1928 in Kimball, Neb. to Morris and Myrtle (Schindler) Sandberg. He lived his early years in the Flowerfield community in Banner County. He graduated from Banner County High School in 1945 and attended Scottsbluff Junior College. He married Joyce Rickard of Scottsbluff on October 15, 1950 and to this union four children were born. A lifetime farmer in Banner County, he started Sandberg Implement at Harrisburg in 1952.
He loved the land and enjoyed old cars and old farm machinery, collecting very rare pieces. He was always a supporter of the Farm And Ranch Museum, for which he was honored. Larry always loved gadgets and new innovative farm equipment. He served many years as a director on the board of the Iowa\Nebraska Implement Dealers Association. In 2003, Larry was Honorary President of the Oregon Trail Days Old Settlers and received an Admiralship to the Nebraska Navy. He was a member of Central Church of Christ in Gering.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Sandberg of Gering; children, Janis Lofing of Gering; Kevin (Karla) Sandberg of Gering; Kelly (Crystal) Sandberg of Gering; son-in-law, Gary Diffendaffer of Littleton, Colo.; grandchildren, Tyler Sandberg, Trenton Sandberg, Phillip Sandberg, Ryan Sandberg and Jillian Diffendaffer; brothers and sisters, Avis Brodhead of Kearney, Neb.; Wilma Ford of Nashville, Tenn.; Duane Sandberg of Hays Springs, Neb.; Orville Sandberg of Littleton, Colo. and Myrt Hughbanks of Gering; numerous nieces, nephews and special friend Fern Fox.
His parents, an infant sister and a daughter, Joy Beth Sandberg, preceded him in death.

Crystal D. Shriver
Crystal D. Shriver, 17, of Lexington, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, as the result of a car/train accident near Lexington. Services were held Monday, Nov. 10, 10:30 a.m., at the First Christian Church in Lexington with Pastor K.C. BeDunnah officiating.
Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
She was born Jan. 17 1986, at Cozad, to Jeff and Daneen (Smith) Shriver.
Crystal attended Lexington Public Schools until the 7th grade, when she transferred to Overton. She was presently a senior at Overton High School. Always active in school, Crystal was captain of the cheerleading squad, a member of the Dance Team Drum Majorette, acted in the One-Act play, FCCLA, Speech Team, sang in the Chorus and was a member of the Swing choir and participated in track. She was also an office aide.
She enjoyed being with her friends and family. She loved music and being "busy." Crystal will always be remembered as a beautiful girl inside and out. She will be greatly missed by her family, her school friends and all who knew and loved her.
Crystal is survived by her parents, Tom and Daneen Nelson of Lexington and Jeff and Echoe Shriver of Potter; sisters, Heather Shriver of Lexington and Rhegan Shriver of Potter; brothers, Ben Nelson of Lexington and Jayhawk Shriver of Potter; grandparents, Gary Lee and Teresa Smith of Lexington, Tom and Margie Nelson of Lexington, Tammy and Dennis Price of Gering, Donna McLain of Lexington and Vern Shriver of Colorado; great-grandmother Esther Ogg of Scottsbluff; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents.

James Goodon
James Goodon, 69 of Kimball died on Sunday November 9, 2003 at Kimball Health Services. Funeral services are Thursday November 13, 2003 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Dwayne Hunzeker will officiate. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday, November 12. If friends wish, memorial gifts may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cantrell Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
Mr. Goodon was born on November 30, 1933 in Truman, Ark. to George and Stella (Lee) Goodon. He married Marlene Joyce Shively on February 22, 1958 in Sikeston, Mo. and to this union three children were born. On August 9, 2003 he married Leonora De Guzman at the park in Dix.
He moved to Kimball in 1959 to work for Vesley Frank, until 1968 when he went to work in the oil fields in the area. In 1970 he went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 1998, at which time he moved to Scottsbluff for a few years returning to Kimball in 2001.
Mr. Goodon is survived by his wife Leonora; his sons Todd Goodon of Kimball and Jim and wife Sue Goodon of Byron, Minn.; a step-son Emil De Guzman as well as two step-daughters Linda Evans and Susie Price; two brothers Guy and wife Dorothy Goodon, and Kenneth and wife Melba Goodon; and a sister Maggie Metcalf of Sapulpa, Okla.; grandchildren Matt Goodon of Longmont, Colo.; Brandi and husband Brian Olivas and Alisa Lusche of Kimball, as well as 10 step grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, his daughter Connie as well as 14 brothers and sisters.

Jack Brown
Jack A. Brown of Mohave Valley, Ariz. passed away Oct. 23, 2003 at Needles, Calif. after an extended illness. A Memorial Service was October 27 at the Jensen-Carpenter Mortuary, Needles, Calif.
Jack Arthur and Lewis Nathan were born October 12, 1934 to Nathan “Cub” and Myrtle Hiatt Brown at Kimball, Neb. His mother passed away minutes after the twins were born. The twins were raised and later adopted by Ralph and Etta Brown.
Jack graduated from high school in Scio, Ore. He returned to Kimball to work for O’Neal Ford and Bourett Hardware and Propane. After moving to Colorado he worked for Farmland Industries driving truck and as a District Representative. In 1972 he started his own business, Brown’s LP Gas. He purchased Longmont Propane Service in 1978, and became the largest independent propane dealer in northern Colo. Following his retirement in 1988 they moved to Mohave Valley, Ariz.
He married Phyllis Basta on June 3,1982 in Bullhead City, Ariz.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis of Mohave Valley, Ariz., a daughter Jacqueline and fiance, Jim Southern of Flagstaff, Ariz.; from a previous marriage two daughters Cathy (Steve) Calaman and Susan (Steve) Spidle; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild of Carlisle, Pa.; his twin, Lewis (Dorothy) Scio, Ore.; and three brothers: Richard (Lila) Scottsdale, Ariz. and Anacortes, Wash.; Melvin (Dorothy) of Gering, Neb.; and Roger of Marino Valley, Calif. Jack leaves behind many good friends and fishing buddies. He didn’t consider anyone a stranger and most of them became his friends.
His father, mother, adoptive parents, sister Gwen, daughter Kristene and a half brother Joey, preceded him in death.
Jensen-Carpenter Mortuary, 222 “E“ St. Needles, CA 92363, was in charge of services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice in care of Jensen-Carpenter Mortuary.
