Kricena, Antonia (Valasinas), age 95, a retired seamstress for various employers, died Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Chilton Hospital in Pequannock, New Jersey. Mrs. Kricena lived in Bloomingdale, New Jersey and was previously from Paterson. Mrs. Kricena came to the United States in 1949 from Lithuania. She is survived by a son Joseph Kricena of California and a daughter, Dale Turi of Bloomingdale; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Vincent (1970). Visitation will be held at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, Wednesday from 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church, Pompton Lakes. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (Totowa) in Totowa. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN. 38105.

Leahy, Dorothy (Jeffrey) age 88, a Pompton Lakes resident for 52 years died on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at home. She was the daughter of George and Madeline (Lewis) Jeffrey. Predeceased by her husband, Raymond, Mrs. Leahy is survived by one son, Michael; three daughters, Ronnie Leahy and Kathleen Marchine of Pompton Lakes and Sharon Bartlett of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers, Robert T. Jeffrey of PA and Warren Jeffrey of SC; three sisters, Vera Purdy and Evelyn O’Boyle of Brick, NJ and Marilyn Salomone of Toms River, NJ. Four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren also survive. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Pompton Lakes on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 11 AM with Fr. Kevin Downey as celebrant. Leone, Frank J., 83, a self employed carpenter, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Care One of Wayne in Wayne, New Jersey. Mr. Leone was a member of the N.J. Carpenters Union, St. Mary's Church, Pompton Lakes, and U.N.I.C.O of Pompton Lakes. He lived in Riverdale, New Jersey for 53 years. He is survived by his wife Esther; a sister, Ellen Frasche of Bayville; a nephew, William Brumale and several other Nieces and Nephews. A blessing will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 11:15 AM at St. Mary's Church, Pompton Lakes. Entombment Calvary Mausoleum in Paterson.

Linden, Charles L., age 88, a retired head manager for Parke-Davis, Teterboro where he worked for 25 years, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Milford Manor Nursing Home in West Milford, NJ. Mr. Linden was a member and past president of Lyons Club of Cresskill, NJ. Mr. Linden lived in Cresskill, NJ for 20 years prior to moving to West Milford 2 years ago. He is survived by a son John Linden of Sicklerville, NJ; two daughters, Rosemary McNiff of West Milford, NJ and Sr. Eileen Mary Linden of Roxbury, MA; two sisters, Catherine Linden Beck of Bronx, NY and Ruthie Tucker of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Megan and Sean McNiff, Christine and Jonathan Linden, Danielle Miller and Jennifer Brown and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary and a son Charles Linden, Jr. He was the son of Gustave and Katherine (McNicols) Linden. He served in the Navy during World War II. Linhart, Emil J., age 82, died peacefully on Wednesday April 11, 2007 at Llainfair House, Wayne. He was the son of Emanuel and Helen Linhart, and had resided in Garfield before moving to Pompton Lakes in 1957. He was employed by the Bendix Corporation in Teterboro where he was an Engineer. He was a WW II Navy Veteran, attaining the rank of 2nd Class Petty Officer. He was a devoted member of the Pompton Lakes VFW Post 2906. He leaves behind a son, Douglas Linhart of Pompton Lakes; two daughters, Carol Linhart of Pompton Lakes and Barbara Hainzl of Highland Lakes; a brother, Bruce Linhart of Long Island, NY; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria. Visiting hours on Friday, April 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark-Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale.. Lovatt, Arthur B. Jr., 92, on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 of West Milford. A retired proprietor of Lovatt Electric, Hackensack, Mr. Lovatt lived in West Milford for 3 1/2 years and was previously from Maywood. He is survived by two daughters, Donna Webster of Alaska and Randi Frassa of Ringwood, a brother, Robert Lovatt of Paramus, a sister, Muriel Maass of Elmwood Park, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was born in Jersey City, the son of the late Arthur and Emily (Brainbridge) Lovatt. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Final disposition was private. Lupo, Giaocchino "Jack", 77, on Monday, October 1, 2007. Mr. Lupo was a retired building inspector for West Milford Township, where he worked for 15 years, a member of St. Joseph's Church, West Milford Elks Lodge #2236 and Macopin Fire Co. Surviving are two sons, Jim of West Milford and Tom of Sparta, two daughters, Maureen McCafferty of West Milford and Kathy Austin of Orlando, FL, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Maureen (Murphy) 4/6/06, a son Jay (2007) and a daughter, Gina Marie Lupo (1958). Born in Lodi, the son of the late Vincenzo and Mary (Migliore) Lupo, he lived in Waldwick before moving to West Milford 38 years ago. Magill, Mary "Bettie" Elizabeth, (Harris) 81, a retired sales clerk for the Plains Pharmacy, Pompton Plains, died Monday, May 7, 2007 at Chilton Hospital in Pequannock, New Jersey. She was the daughter of John and Mary (Shaw) Harris. Mrs. Magill lived in Kinnelon for 46 years and was previously from Pompton Lakes. She was a member of the Kinnelon Reformed Church. She is survived by her husband Robert; two sons, Michael of Bel Aire, MD and Thomas of Kinnelon, NJ; a daughter, Judith Cupit of Cedar Grove, NJ; two grandchildren Ian and Sara Magill. Mrs Magill's family will receive friends 1 to 4 PM Sunday, May 13 at her residence.

Mann, Violet (Van Dunk), age 92, a homemaker of Haskell, died Monday, January 15, 2007 at the Wanaque Center, Wanaque, NJ. Mrs. Mann has been a resident of Haskell for the past 70 years. Mrs. Mann was a member of the Good Shepherd Church of Ringwood. Surviving are two sons, Lehman A. Sr. of Vernon, CT and Eugene Roland of Haskell; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Lehman in 1977; a grandson, Ronald in 1996. Visiting hours at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford on Friday, January 19 from 1-3 PM. Manning, Jeannette (Kimble), age 80, a retired housekeeper for Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock, died Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Milford Manor Nursing Home in West Milford, NJ. Mrs. Manning lived in West Milford for 20 years and was previously from Ringwood. She is survived by two sons, George Manning of TN and Charles Manning of Maine; two daughters, Elaine Biggans of Butler, NJ and Jill Williamson of Hewitt, NJ; a brother, Robert Kimble of PA; two sisters, Doris Boyer of VA and Darleen Barker of West Milford, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband Charles J. in 1981. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Dorothy (Cahill) Kimble. Marchiafava, Victor L. "Vic", 68, a 40 year resident of West Milford , on Tuesday, September 18, 2007. Mr. Marchiafava had been proprietor of Concours Automotive Recycling, West Milford until his retirement last year, having been in business in West Milford since 1965 when he built and opened Forest Automotive. Vic was past President and a 31 year board member of West Milford Rotary Club, a member and past Chairman of West Milford Planning Board, a 25 year board member of Chamber of Commerce of West Milford; he served on the Advisory Board of Lakeland Bank and hosted Christmas parties for children with special needs for 15 years. Surviving are his wife, Jeannette (Finkel); four sons, Albert Christmann of West Milford, Richard Christmann of West Paterson, Victor Jr. and Michael Marchiafava of West Milford; two daughters, Wendy Christmann-Bamper of West Milford and Joananne Young of Jackson, NJ; a sister, Virginia Seugling of Fairfield, NJ; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was born in Caldwell, NJ the son of the late Victor and Josephine (Prestifilippo) Marchiafava. Marion, Chester, 93, a retired meat cutter for Grand Union, Sparta, died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Renaissance Gardens in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. Mr. Marion lived in Butler for most of his life before moving to Pompton Plains five years ago. He was born in Butler, the son of Israel and Lydia (Yohe) Marion. He is survived by his two sons, Chester E. of New Port Richey, FL and William L. of Pa.; a brother, Louis of Pompton Plains; two sisters, Ruth Dolan of Pompton Plains and Thelma Nelson of Montclair; a niece, Louann Nelson and four Grandchildren. Marton, Rhoda F. (Edgson), age 85, a retired mail clerk for Roamans Mail Order Service, Saddle Brook, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at her home in West Milford, NJ. Mrs. Marton was a member of the West Milford Senior Citizens. Mrs. Marton lived in West Milford for 11 years and was previously from Ringwood. She is survived by two sons, Bob of West Milford and John of Saddle Brook; a sister, Evelyn DeWald of Norfolk, VA and 4 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Frank (1972). Masino, Rosa (Lotierzo), 87, of Riverdale, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Wayne View Care Center in Wayne, New Jersey. Mrs. Masino lived in Riverdale for 10 years and was previously from Totowa and Paterson, coming to the US in 1958. Mrs Masino worked for various textile manufacturers in the Paterson area as a finisher. She was born in Sala Consilina, Italy, the daughter of Angelo and Maria (Menafra) Lotierzo. Beloved wife of the late Felice (1985). Devoted mother of Angelo and his wife Lois of Elmwood Park; Antonietta Casillo of Riverdale; sister of Anna Pierri, Totowa; cherished grandmother of Joseph, Phil, Anthony, Jaime, and Angelo . Mathews, Dean A., 39, a retired roofer for Lakeland Roofing, Haskell died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. Mr. Mathews lived in Budd Lake, and was previously from Bloomingdale. Born in Pompton Plains, he was the son of Donald and Irene (Condit) Mathews. He is survived by his father, Donald Mathews, three sisters Donna Asencio of Montaque, Bobbi Jo Mathews-Jones of Bloomingdale and Danielle Castiblanco of Sussex and his Fiance' Lynda Schwab and her son Timothy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene (Condit) Mathews, a brother Donald Mathews, Jr. and a sister Deborah Gubich. McAllister, Rita M. (Hoban), age 84, a homemaker from West Milford on Sunday, December 9, 2007. Mrs. Mc Allister was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church and a member of the Rosary Society. McGrady, Erna (Riker), age 92, of Warwick, NY formerly of West Milford died Thursday May 31, 2007 in Haskell. Beloved mother of Edna Steines; sister of Wilma Usinowicz, Gladys Bishop and Myrtle Whitehead; grandmother of eleven, great-grandmother of twenty-eight and great-great grandmother of three. McEwan, William A., age 86, a retired letter carrier for U S Postal Service, Bergenfield where he worked for 40 years, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pequannock Township, NJ. Mr. McEwan lived in West Milford, NJ for 38 years and was previously from Bergenfield. He is survived by his wife Grace E. (DePuy), three sons William Alan McEwan of Bloomingdale, NJ, Kevin McEwan of Franklin, NJ, James B. McEwan of Butler, NJ, two daughters Eileen J. McEwan and Linda Bellber both of Patchogue, NY, two brothers Daniel McEwan of ME and Gordon McEwan of WA and 11 Grandchildren also survive him. He was the son of Archibald and Laura (Treandley) McEwan. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. She is survived by two sons, Jack Walker and Frank Dixon, two daughters, Candy Dixon and Marcia De Leeuw, a sister Renee Ryan, a sister-in-law Virginia Mathews, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Jesse (1984) and a son Dennis Walker. She was born in West Milford to the late David and Stella (Everest) Mathews. Milligan, Michael, age 62, a retired coating line operator for Arrow Group Industries, Haskell, died Sunday, February 11, 2007 at his home in Ringwood, NJ. Mr. Milligan was a life long resident of Ringwood. Mirrer, John, age72, a retired truck driver for Mirrer's Trucking Company, Paterson where he worked for 40 years, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. Mr. Mirrer lived in West Milford, NJ for 34 years and was previously from Glen Rock. He is survived by his wife Judith (Bauer), eight children: Linda Curry, Cynthia Cherry, Theresa Suarez, John David Mirrer, Dawn Bednarz, Sandra Mayberry, Robin Caldwell, Mary Jane Cox, brother of nine: Ethel Sonderfan, Robert Mirrer, Edward Mirrer, Walter Mirrer, Mildred Ten Kate, Richard Mirrer, Claire Craig, Joan Kassa and Donald Mirrer, 19 Grandchildren and 5 Great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sheila Mirrer, a great grand daughter Serenity Dolan, a brother William Mirrer and a sister Margaret DeLuccia. Moeller, John H., 101, on Thursday, October 4, 2007 of West Milford. Born in Paterson to John F. and Ida (Mills) Moeller, the family moved to Oak Ridge in 1916 and to Macopin in 1923. After his marriage to Eva (Fogg) in 1935 at Third Presbyterian Church, Paterson, the couple took up residence in West Milford and lived there the rest of their lives. Before going to work for an electric furnace firm in Paterson, John attended Paterson schools and Butler High School. His elementary education was in the one room Oak Ridge School. Mr. Moeller went into law enforcement in 1929, first as a part time constable in West Milford and the Greenwood Lake areas. He became the first full time West Milford police officer in 1934 with the annual salary of $1300 ($5 a day), was promoted to Captain in 1940 and became West Milford’s first Police Chief in 1949 at $26 per day. He drove a motorcycle or his own car before there was a township-owned police car. Chief John Moeller retired in 1971. He headed Passaic County Chiefs Association in 1967, was a member of the Echo Lake Baptist Church, West Milford Rotary, Citizen of the Year in 1962, VFW Man of the Year in the 1960’s and had a testimonial in his honor in1956. John celebrated his 100th birthday in May 2006 at the Apshawa Fire House. Surviving are nephews, Charles and John J. Moeller, a niece, Mary Jane Fox, a brother-in-law, Alex Fogg, a sister-in-law, Lillian Costa, and many more nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Eva (Fogg) in 1972, two brothers, Joseph who was Deputy Chief of Motor Vehicle Inspection, a young brother, Wilbur and a young sister, Mary Moeller. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 9:30 AM at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford. Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. Mongelli, Marco I., 81, of Wayne, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007. Born in Italy, Mr. Mongelli came to the United States in 1947. He previously lived in Riverdale & Hoboken, before moving to Wayne. Mr. Mongelli was a retired machine operator for a coat manufacturer in Hoboken. He was the beloved husband of the late Lucia (1975). Devoted father of Joseph and Thomas, cherished grandfather of Christopher and Michael. Brother of Agatha Cimmillo, Angelina Gaudio and the late Frank Mongelli. Funeral liturgy 10:30 AM Friday, St. Mary’s Church, Pompton Lakes. Entombment Fairview Mausoleum, Fairview, NJ. Muller, Ruth H. (Herbst), age 90, a secretary for NY Life, New York City, NY, died Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Oak Ridge Nursing Center in Wayne, New Jersey. Mrs. Muller was previously from Clifton and moved to Wayne several years ago. She was the daughter of Edward and Martha (Gutzwiller) Herbst. She is survived by a step-daughter, Jane Puccio and husband Frank of Wayne; seven nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Muller and brother, Edward Herbst, Sr and a sister, Grace Crawford. Myers, Donald C. 66 of West Milford on Friday, August 10, 2007 at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock. Formally of Mt. Tabor, NJ, he has been a resident of West Milford for the past 39 years. Mr. Myers was an Administrative Representative for Ho-Ho-Kus College of Ramsey, NJ and a member of the West Milford Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Allen) Myers; one son, James T. and his wife, Dawn of FL; one daughter, Laurie L. Peer and her husband, George of West Milford; his father, Peter J. Myers of Greendale, NJ; two sisters, Patricia Gruendig of Greendale, NJ and Carol Edwards of SC; three grandchildren, Caroline and Marion Myers and Catherine Peer. Predeceased by his daughter, Catherine I. Myers and his mother, Shirley C. (Menut) Myers both in 1988. Memorial service on Monday, August 13, 2007 at 7:30 PM from the West Milford Presbyterian Church, 1452 Union Valley Road, West Milford with the Rev. Dr. Janet Macgregor-Williams officiating. Noble, Catherine E. (Dunn), age 96, on Sunday, June 17, 2007 of Warwick, NY formerly of Hewitt, NJ. Mrs. Noble was a parishioner of Our lady Queen of Peace Church, Hewitt, member of UGL 1st Aid Squad, UGL Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary and West Milford Golden Jet. She is survived by a son Donald Noble of Piscataway, a brother Charles Dunn of Clifton, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John and a son John J. Noble, Jr. She was born in Jersey City, the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary (McGetrick) Dunn. Visiting at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford on Wednesday (6/20) from 7-9 PM. Funeral liturgy will be held Thursday, June 21, 2007 10:30AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Hewitt. Burial will be in the Warwick Cemetery in Warwick, NY.

Osborne, Harold L., age 88, a lifelong resident of Pompton Lakes on Sunday, January 20, 2008. Before retiring, he was employed as a coiler for E. I. Du Pont for 38 years. An Army veteran, he served in WW II and fought at the Battle of the Bulge and was a prisoner of war (POW) for one year. Surviving are two sons, Donald of Oak Ridge and Harold R. of Pompton Lakes; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His wife, Martha (Munson) Osborne predeceased him 1992. Funeral services on Wednesday, January 23 at 11 AM from the Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale with Pastor Tom Bartha officiating. Interment at Pompton Lakes Reformed Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, 2-4 & 7-9PM.
