Mrs. Doris Williams, 68 of Altha passed away Thursday, January 12, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Williams was born in Ooltewah, Tennessee and had lived in Calhoun County since 1983. She was a homemaker and attended the Altha Church of God.
Survivors include:
4 Sons- David Williams and his wife Jane of Delta, Alabama, Danny Williams and his wife Denise of Altha, Travis Williams and his wife Annette of Blountstown, and Marcus Williams of Altha.
3 Daughters- Gay Newton and her husband Jim of Blountstown, Teresa Bailey and her husband Jeff of Blountstown and Lori Sansom of Altha.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 15, from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown with Reverend Michael Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Mr. Ronald Lee Hallford, 28 of Altha, passed away Saturday, December 24, in Panama City. Mr. Hallford was born in Port St. Joe and had lived in Calhoun County since 1984. He was in the towing and junk yard business and was of the holiness faith.
He was preceded in death by a bother, Christopher Hallford, his Maternal Grandfather, Leonard Henderson and his Paternal Grandfather, Leroy Hallford.

Mrs. Rosalie Bailey, 68 of Fountain, Florida passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at her home. She was born in Orange, Florida and had lived in Fountain the past nine years. Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker and was of the Presbyterian faith.

Mrs. Carolyn Sue Stuever, 58 of Blountstown passed away Friday morning in Blountstown. Mrs. Stuever was born in Washington, D. C. and had lived in Calhoun County for the last fourteen years. She was of the protestant faith had worked at Food Lion for 10 years where she was known for her friendliness and kindness.

Mr. Gordon Eugene "Gene" Messer, 74 of Blountstown, passed away Wednesday, December 14, in Panama City. Mr. Messer was a native of Tallahassee where he attended Sealy Memorial and Leon High Schools. He had served in the US Army and had lived in Calhoun County since 1987.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Vida Messer, 4 brothers, Duward, Charlie, Howell and Albert who were all of Tallahassee and a sister Dorothy Malloy who was also of Tallahassee.
Survivors include a sister Margaret O'Brien Poston of Tallahassee and several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM CST, Saturday, December 17, from the graveside of Dellwood Baptist Church Cemetery in Dellwood with Reverend Johnny Hamilton officiating.

Mrs. Ethealle Bozeman Shuler, 95 of Bristol, passed away Tuesday, December 13, in Tallahassee. Mrs. Shuler was born in Sale City, Georgia and had lived in Liberty County for most of her life. She was a long time Liberty County Employee and managed White Springs for many years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bristol.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM EST Friday, December 16, from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bristol. Interment will follow in the Gregory/ Gentry Cemetery in Bristol. Mr. William "Bill" Jones, Jr., 65 of Blountstown, passed away Saturday morning at his home. Mr. Jones was born in West Monroe, Louisiana and had lived in Calhoun County for the past 15 years. He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Navy as a Sea-Bee.

Mr. Peter Russell Sanko III, 76 of Southport, passed away Thursday, November 10, in Panama City. Mr. Sanko was born in Furnish Run, PA and was a security and truck inspector for Louisiana Pacific. He was a member and deacon at the North Bay Creek Indian Chapel.

Ms. Rowell Leola Palmer 88, of Bristol, passed away Friday, November 18, 2005 in Tallahassee. She was born in Vernon, Florida and had been an operator for IBM. Ms. Palmer had been a member of Eastern Star and was of the Methodist faith. She was an active member of the New Hope Methodist Church. Ms. Leola Palmer was a very warm and loving woman. She never met a stranger and she loved children.

Mr. Richard Joseph Lindemann, 80 of Blountstown, passed away Thursday, November 24, in Marianna. Mr. Lindemann was born in Providence, Rhode Island and had lived in Calhoun County for the past 17 years. Mr. Lindemann was a retired Industrial Engineer for the US Civil Service and was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army as well as the US Navy. He was of the Catholic faith and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, and the American Legion.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday from the St. Frances of Assisi Catholic Church in Blountstown. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Monday at the Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown.

Mrs. Edna Gertrude Boggs, 87 of Stone Mountain, Georgia and formerly of Altha, passed away Friday in Stone Mountain. Mrs. Boggs was born in Altha and had lived many years in Calhoun County before moving to Stone Mountain in 1964. She was a retired insurance agent and of the Methodist faith.

1 Son- Harold Boggs and his wife Ruth of Loganville, GA
1 Sister- Evelyn Horsfall of Las Vegas, NV
1 Daughter-In-Law- Dara Boggs of Panama City
4 Grandchildren - Vicki Castellano, Traci Weathers, Mark Boggs and Donna Kimball
4 Great Grandchildren- Ashley Hires, Tyler Castellano, Jason Marshall and Cody Weathers.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, from the Hasty Pond Baptist Church near Altha with Reverend Lamar Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the Hasty Pond Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday evening at the Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown.

Patricia Ann Bilbo, 82, formerly of Bristol, died Sunday, November 13, 2005, at her home on Lake Talquin, surrounded by her family.
Although no formal services will be held, the family will receive friends at the Bristol Chapel of Adams Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, November 15, 2005, from 6-8pm, EST.
Pat was born on March 17, 1923, to John and Margaret Rogers in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was married to the late L. J. Bilbo.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who considered any child visiting in her home “one of hers.” In 1967, at age 44, she graduated from Lively Technical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She worked at Calhoun General Hospital in Blountstown until her retirement, where she helped deliver many babies, including her own granddaughter, Mary Beth. She loved nursing and often said to friends and family, “I can’t believe I got paid for something that I loved to do!”
She is survived by two sons and one daughter: Larry Bilbo and his wife, Shirley, of Tallahassee; Jimmy Bilbo and his wife, Clare, of Bristol; and Jeanne Thayer and her husband, Jon, of Swanton, Maryland; seven grandchildren: Joey Bilbo, Mary Beth Cobb, Laurie Bilbo, Colby Bilbo, Dan Thayer, Evan Thayer, and Jason Duggar; and two great-grandchildren.
She never met a stranger.

Mr. Roy Wayne Dawson, 64 of Bristol, passed away Monday, October 31, 2005 at his home. Mr. Dawson was born in Blountstown and had lived in Bristol for most of his life. He was an avid fisherman and of the holiness faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Ada Dawson, a step-father, Pony Hill, a sister- Jeanette Hill, a step daughter-in-law, Christine Pullam and a son-in-law Danny Lee Lindsey.

Mr. Randel E. Pumphrey, 51 of Altha, passed away Tuesday, October 11, in Marianna. Mr. Pumphrey was born in Marianna and had lived most of his life in Altha. He loved hunting and fishing and was an all around avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Jack Creek Sportsman Club and was a Baptist. He was the owner of Randel Pumphrey Construction, LLC. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jeannie Jerkins.
He is survived by his wife- Frances of Altha
His Parents- Alfred and Flora Pumphrey of Marianna.
3 Brothers- Luther Pumphrey and his wife Mary of Marianna, Steve Pumphrey and his wife Pauline of Altha, and Jim Pumphrey and his wife Debbie of Altha

Mr. Charles Arrant, 81 of Blountstown, passed away Monday, September 26, in Blountstown. Mr. Arrant was born in Leona, Florida and had lived in Blountstown since 1973. He was a logger and was of the Holiness faith. He was also an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel Arrant and Grady Arrant and a Sister, Auney Arrant.

Doris Jeanette Kearce, 85 of Blountstown, passed away Friday, September 23, 2005 in Tallahassee with her family by her side.
Mrs. Kearce, most affectionately known by her loving children and grandchildren as "MaMa", was born in Altha, Florida on May 23, 1920. The youngest of Thomas Monroe and Nora Owens Howell's nine children, MaMa was the first of the "Howell clan" born in Florida after the family moved from Geneva County, Alabama.
MaMa was a renowned culinary expert of southern cuisine in her native Calhoun County. Throughout her life she took tremendous pride and enjoyment in helping others. MaMa was a proud caretaker and a nurturer of many friends and family though the years, most notably her children and grandchildren who gave her great pride and enjoyment. Any visitor in her home would not be allowed to leave without first sampling some of her traditional down home fare. She truly epitomized and was a benchmark of the definition of southern hospitality.
Ask any of her children and grandchildren what they remember and cherish about MaMa and they will tell you without hesitation that her family was the most important part of her life. As a result, she leaves behind an incredible legacy and an indelible mark on the lives she touched. She is a long time member of Christian Home Free Will Baptist Church.
MaMa was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Nora Howell; her husband, George Alison Kearce, eight siblings; and a daughter, Patricia Kearce Simpson. She is survived by her son, Jim Kearce and his wife Lamoine of Blountstown, 3 daughters, Gayle Grimes and her husband Billy of Tallahassee, Sandra Smith and her husband Jack of Scotts Ferry, and Kim Baker of Chattahoochee, 12 Grandchildren, Monique Wood and her husband Bruce of Tallahassee, Cami Masai and her husband Marshall of Blountstown, Jay Kearce of Memphis, TN, Melissa Reddoch and her husband Billy of Monticello, James "Bubba" Simpson and his wife Noelle of Carlisle, OH, Bill Grimes of Tallahassee, Britt Kearce and his wife Stephanie of Roswell, GA, Todd Grimes and his wife Becky of Tallahassee, Kristal Watson and her husband Roger of Canton, Georgia Matt Kearce and his wife Christy of Westin, FL, and Kearce and Madison Baker of Chattahoochee, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM CST Tuesday, September 27, from the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church in Blountstown with Dr. Dan Duncan officiating. Interment will be held at the Nettle Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM CST, Monday, September 26, at the Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
