Mary A. Puls, age 88, of 1416 Madison Street, Manitowoc, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2004, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Wojciechowski O.F.M. with entombment at Knollwood Memorial Park & Chapel Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc.
She was born November 5, 1915, in Melrose Park, Illinois, daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Durdak Tomascik. On October 27, 1951, she married Earl M. Puls at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death February 27, 1993. Mary was employed at Aluminum Specialty for over 30 years, retiring in January of 1978. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc Senior Citizens and the Manitowoc Eagles Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed traveling, shopping and keeping up her home and yard. She always looked forward to spending holidays and special times at Hermansville, Michigan with her brother, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Survivors include three sisters and a brother-in-law, Margaret Tomascik, Josephine Tomascik, Irene & Alex Framarin; a brother, George Tomascik, all of Hermansville, Michigan and a sister-in-law, Janet Schroeter, Manitowoc. Also surviving is a special friend, Marge Engelbrecht and her good neighbors, Lee & Evelyn Stuckmann and the Kautzer family. Mary is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Ann, a brother, Stephen Tomascik Jr. and four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lester & Marcella Puls, Elmer Schroeter, Bert & Minnie Huntzinger and Eli & Odessa Johnson.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.

Aurelia M. Brandl, age 92, a former Manitowoc resident, died Friday morning, April 9, 2004, at St. Francis Nursing Home, Fond du Lac.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Tom Wojciechowski O.F.M. with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
Aurelia was born March 10, 1912, in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Heinzen Miller. On June 15, 1932, she married Edwin Brandl at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alverno. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1994. The couple owned and operated a farm in the Town of Newton for many years, retiring in 1981, when they moved to Manitowoc. She was a former member of St. Isadore Catholic Church, Osman and presently a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Aurelia was also a member of the Pigeon Lake Garden Club and the Pine River Homemakers Club.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law: Jerome and Bernice Brandl, Pewaukee, Paul and Char Brandl, Elkhart Lake, Marvin and Jackie Brandl, Newton and Daniel and Carol Brandl, Manitowoc; two daughters and one son-in-law: Shirley Groeschl, Fond du Lac and Kathy and Richard Neumeyer, Rockford, Ill.; twenty one grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren. She is further survived by three brothers-in-law: Reinhardt Brandl, Walter Brandl, and his wife, Evelyn and Clarence Reindl; two sisters-in-law, Ida Heinzen and Florence Siehr, and her husband, Vic, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter: Mary Ann Brandl; a son-in-law: Les Groeschl; three brothers: Joseph, Wilfred and Arnold Miller and one sister: Marie Reindl.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, on Monday evening, April 12, 2004, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and also on Tuesday morning at St. Mary Catholic Church, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to St. Francis Nursing Home, Fond du Lac and Whitetail Estates Assisted Living, Manitowoc.

Karen Lee A.. Lehrmann, age 65, of 5036 Lehrmann Road, Two Rivers, died Wednesday afternoon, May 26, 2004 at Kewaunee Care Center, Kewaunee.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 710 Dorelle St. Kewaunee. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Maurice Hoppe, with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum.
Karen Lee was born December 29, 1938 daughter of the late Ralph & Elva (Kuehl) Rogalski. She attended Kewaunee High School graduating with the Class of 1956. On June 4, 1960 Karen Lee married Roger Lehrmann at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaunee. She
helped out at the family farm and most recently enjoyed delivering newspapers to the homes and stores. Karen Lee enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to make felt magnets, sew, and how to deliver newspapers. She loved to feed the birds and watch the wildlife. She was a faithful supporter of her children in their 4-H years. Her support has carried on in 4-H with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband: Roger, Two Creeks; two daughters and one son-in-law: Lori & Perry (Fonz) Lauscher, Two Creeks and their four children: Rebecca, Carolyn, Nathaniel, Elizabeth; Lisa Lehrmann and financee Roger (Rahr) Olson, Jr., Eagle River, and her daughter: Samantha Lehrmann, her mother-in-law: Grace Lehrmann, Manitowoc; five sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Marie (Eugene) Skarvan, Jean (Richard) Becker, Eileen (Kenny) Gretz, Luella (David) Soukup, Joyce (Don) Mueller; one brother-in-law: Kenny Zuege. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by a father-in-law: Henry Lehrmann; one sister: Sandra Zuege; one nephew; Dean Zuege; one brother-in-law: Glenn Bruechert.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, May 31, 2004 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Visitation will continue at church on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Joyce Mueller and Jenny Zima for the time spent with Karen Lee on her last day. A thank you also to the Mishicot Area Ambulance responders.

Thomas G. Ewald, age 63, of 3207 E. Hillcrest Road, Two Rivers, died Thursday morning, May 27, 2004 at Aurora Bay Care, Green Bay.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, Holy Redeemer Site, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. William O'Brien. Burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Berlin, Wisconsin.
Tom was born February 26, 1941 son of the late Ardin & Catherine Frost Ewald. He attended Berlin High School graduating with the Class of 1959. After high school Tom worked in construction until entering the service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. On April 16, 1966 he married Karen Plummer at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Winneconne. He then became employed with Wisconsin Public Service until his retirement January 1, 2001. After retirement Tom & Karen traveled to Australia, New Zealand and Germany, where they were involved in Antique Tractor Shows. Tom enjoyed restoring antique tractors and engines participating in numerous tractor shows and parades. He also collected antique farm toy collectibles.
Survivors include his wife: Karen Ewald, Two Rivers: one son: Michael Ewald, Berlin, one daughter: Jennifer Ewald; Caledonia, and her special friend Dan Ruppel; two sisters-in-law: Suzanne Ruedinger and her husband Martin, Waukau; Barbara Mofidi, Calistoga, CA; four brothers-in-law: David Plummer & his wife Marylou, Sturgeon Bay; George Plummer, Portland, OR; Greg Plummer, Portland, OR; Warren Plummer Jr., Milwaukee. He was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Gail Plummer.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, May 31, 2004 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers, where a prayer service will conclude the visitation at 7:30 PM led by Rev. William O'Brien. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, Holy Redeemer Site from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at 10:30 AM..

Scott A. Bergene, age 41 of 9908 Hwy F., Newton, died Thursday, May 27, 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry with burial to follow at St. Casimer Church Cemetery, Northeim.
Scott was born on April 7, 1963 in Manitowoc, son of Ronald Bergene and Sandy Poetzel. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School, with the class of 1981. Scott married Tammy Burke on December 19, 1992 in Manitowoc. Scott started his employment with Schnell Auto Body, Valders. He was currently employed with Gulseth Construction Company as a machine operator for the past 15 years.. He was a member of Local 139 Operating Engineers and Karting Kettles of Elkhart Lake, where he raced with his son Brandon.
Survivors include his wife; Tammy, Newton, three sons; Brandon Scott, age 10, Beau Allen, age 7 and Dustin Ron, age 5, all at home, his father; Ronald (Marcia) Bergene, Manitowoc, his mother; Sandy(Dave) Poetzel, Plainfield, WI, sisters; Amanda and Danielle Bergene, Manitowoc, mother-in-law; Janet Burke, Palm Desert, CA, one sister-in-law; Beverley Pyatskowit, Arizona, four brothers and two sisters-in-law; Michael (Linda) Burke, Tim Burke, Patrick (Margot) Burke, Daniel Bjierke, all of CA, nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and many friends including very special family friends, Bunny and Nancy Danielson.
Scott was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Albert and Eleanor Bergene, maternal grandparents; Clarence and Blanche Hein, father-in-law; Raymond Burke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an Educational Trust Fund for the boys.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday May 31, 2004 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Scott was a kind and loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his three sons, family and friends doing what they loved - working in the shop, snowmobling, collector cars, four wheeling and Harley rides. Scott was a very talented jack of all trades and will be lovingly remembered as 'Watosh' (a man with too many irons in the fire). Scott touched our hearts in a special way that will make him live on forever.

Leona E. Mancheski, age 93, a resident of St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at the home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Wojciechowski O.F.M. with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Leona was born April 5, 1911, in Manistee, MI., daughter of the late Vincent and Rose (Ozga) Wisnecki. On May 19, 1973, she married Joseph H. Mancheski Sr. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1999. Leona was employed with Mirro Aluminum Company for 48 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of St. Mary's Church Choir for 30 years and a member and past president of the St. Mary's Rosary and Alter Society.
Survivors include one step-daughter, LaVerne Kolanczyk, Two Rivers; two step-sons and step- daughters-in-law, Arnold and Rita Mancheski, Valders, Joseph and Maxine Mancheski, Manitowoc; step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; three nephews, Richard Monka and his wife Phyllis, Merrill, Ronald Monka and his wife Gail, Two Rivers, John Monka and his wife Diane, Two Rivers; two nieces, Rosemary Heidman and her husband Lee, Two Rivers, Mary Jo Haban, Two Rivers; other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Zeno Monka.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Frank F. Bonk, age 89, of 2307 Stone Road, Manitowoc, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at his residence.
A Memorial Service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Gerald Foley with burial of the cremated remains to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born October 4, 1914, in Manitowoc, son of the late Martin and Josephine Norkosky Bonk. Frank attended St. Mary Grade School, Southside Junior High and Lincoln High School, graduating in 1934. He lettered in football and track. He was involved in all sports from 1932 until 1966. He started and operated as sole owner of the city semi pro football team knowns as the Manitowoc Galloping Gaels from 1938 to 1966. This later became known as The Braves and then The Chiefs. He served as football commissioner of the Central States Football League and Wisconsin State Football League. In 1967 he organized a Minor League Professional Football League in Columbus, Ohio, including all the states East of the Mississippi River. On October 15, 1938, he married the former Dorothy Steffen at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He was inducted into the Central States League Hall of Fame in 1966. He was the first athlete inducted into the Lakeshore Sports Hall of Fame in April 1977. In 1988 he was inducted into the National American Football Association Minor Pro Hall of Fame in Chicago, Illinois. He also has been included in the Congressional Records in Washington D.C. for his accomplishments in sports in 1989. Frank retired from the White House Milk A & P in April of 1977 from the maintenance engineering department. He had been a union steward for six years. He was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Bonk, Manitowoc; two daughters and a son-in-law, Judith Hermann, Jayne & Charles Thompson; a son and daughter-in-law, James & Mary Jo Bonk, all of Manitowoc; ten grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jonathon, Jeremy Hermann, Joylynn Norton, Bruce, Jamie, Troy & April Bonk, Joedy & Joshua Thompson; eight great grandsons; a great granddaughter and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lorrayne Tadych, Marcella & Bernard Powell, all of Manitowoc. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Pamela, an infant son and five brothers, Chester, Adolph, Ben, George and Emil Bonk.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at 10 a.m.

Ralph E. Keil, age 77, of 741 S. 32nd Street, Manitowoc, died Sunday evening, July 11, 2004, at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Ronald Reimer. Cremation has taken place with burial of the cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Ralph was born June 10, 1927, in Manitowoc, son of the late Elmer and Clara Lambries Keil. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1946. Ralph served in the United States Army during World War II. On January 15, 1949, he married the former Mary Kassa at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Ralph was employed with the University of Wisconsin - Manitowoc, retiring in 1989.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Keil, Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth & Terry Cartwright, Waukesha, Barb & Jay Behnke, Darboy; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe & Debbie Keil, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren, Michael Semrad, Tiffany Behnke, Josh Behnke, Tyler Schleis, Zachary Schleis, Kiley Kolbeck, Braxton Keil; three great grandchildren, Bryce Kolbeck, Kohlton Schleis, Devon Kolbeck; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Jerry & Betty Keil, Gladys Keil and a sister, Gladys Lallensack, all of Manitowoc. Also surviving are many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen, five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Elmer and Rose Keil, Eugene and Camille Keil, Donald, Roland and Kathleen Keil and Robert and Pauline Keil and one sister and two brothers-in-law, Lorraine & Harry Witczak and Francis Lallensack.

Erwin J. Birringer, age 89, formerly of 2126 Wimmer Rd., Manitowoc, died early Saturday morning, July 17, 2004 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Raphael Birringer with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Hwy 310 Manitowoc. Graveside Military rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Otto Oas Post # 659.
Erwin was born on June 8, 1915 in the town of Kossuth, son of the late Mathias and Magdalina Nachtwey Birringer. On May 29, 1940 he married the former Agnes Schambureck at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Whitelaw. He served in the United States Navy Sea Bee's from 1945 until 1946, with a tour in the South Pacific. Erwin was employed with the Spindler Company from 1947 to 1971 and the R&J Fricke Ready Mix Company from 1971 to 1977. He was a former member of Teamster Union Local #619, Clarks Lake Advancement Association and member of their Board of Directors. He was also a member of the Manitowoc Genealogical Society, Manitowoc Historical Society, Manitowoc Senior Citizens and V.F.W. Otto Oas Post #659.
Survivors include his wife; Agnes, Manitowoc, two daughters ; Carol Morrow and Charlotte Mahnke, both of Manitowoc, two sons and daughters-in-law; Charles and Prudence Birringer, Fond du Lac and Clyde and Melinda Birringer, McFarland, nine grandchildren; Lori Lynn and Scott Newberg, Manitowoc, Mark and Laura Morrow, New Richmond, Mike Morrow, Reedsville, Tim and Lisa Temby, Appleton, Julie Temby, Durham NC, Ryan Birringer, Nicole Birringer, both of McFarland, Sara Mahnke, Kristi Mahnke, both of Manitowoc, seven great grandchildren, one brother; Father Raphael Birringer, Milwaukee. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive.
Erwin was also preceded in death by four brothers; William, Norman, Sylvester, George, one sister; Evelyn Lemberger, an infant brother and an infant sister, and one son-in-law; Richard Mahnke.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc.

Carol Ann (Jarosh) Mitchell, age 50, of Tampa, Florida, went to Heaven on Monday, July 12, 2004, surrounded by her loving family.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Burial of the cremated remains will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Carol was born December 21, 1953, in Manitowoc, daughter of Robert and Bernice Jarosh. Carol flourished for many years in her property management career, due in no small part to her remarkable way with people. Carol was the mother of two fine young men, and was an inspiration and a ray of sunshine to her boys and all of her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Carol's family wishes to thank a special man, Mr. Daniel Miles, and all of Carol's friends at Mile's Property Inc. of Atlanta, GA., the staff at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and Bridget and Julie, for helping to make her battle with cancer one she could fight with dignity and her characteristic sense of humor.
Survivors include two sons, Jack and Matt Mitchell, both of Iowa; a granddaughter, Kaia Mitchell, Iowa; her parents, Bob & Bee Jarosh, Manitowoc; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jack (Bridget Hayes) Jarosh, Florida, Bob Jarosh, Manitowoc; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie (Mohammad) Khalil, California, Julie (Peter) Noel, Florida; nieces and nephews, Maureen, Sean & Patrick Jarosh, Julian Andrews, Lauren & Helena Noel, Nadia, Melissa and Mia Khalil. Carol is further survivied by any amazing array of close friends who, along with her family helped to sustain her.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m.
