Shirley Baker, 75, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at 2 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Crandall and Rev. Mark Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 12, from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, July 13, from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time of service at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Academy or donor's choice.
Shirley was born on January 12, 1929 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Charles Baker and Elizabeth W. (Pierson) Baker. Shirley graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1947. She was a secretary for 27 years with SBX. Shirley was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant
Shirley is survived by her sister, Mary Kay Axsom of Tempe, Arizona; niece, April (Roger) Hicks; great nieces and nephews, David, Deanna, Mike and Terry Hicks, Traci and Chad Florian and Stephani Van Horn; special friends, Tom and Sharon Weirich and family.
Shirley was preceded in death by both parents, Charles and Elizabeth Baker, sisters, Jane Van Horn, Ella Mae Bugbee, Dorothy Helen Baker, and brother, Robert Baker; brother-in-law, Chuck Axsom along with nephew Charles Walter Van Horn.

Anderson-Wilson, Debra Dian
July 8, 1955 - July 5, 2004
Debra Dian Anderson-Wilson, 48, of Weidman, went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 5, 2004.
Funeral Services for Debra will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 11, 2004 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, July 12, 2004 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the chapel.
Debra was born on July 8, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Thurlow Wilson and Arlene Arnott Jackson. Debra previously worked as a Security Guard for the card room and was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. She enjoyed life, her family, friends, her pets, being outdoors, watching the sun set on the family property and feeding the swans. Debra also enjoyed gardening, taking pictures and was an avid reader of the Bible.
Debra is survived by her children, Lakia Eaton (Brian Morrison) of Mt. Pleasant, Anthony Vaquera of Weidman and a special nephew Sean Wilson (Suzanne Sponsellor) of Mt. Pleasant in which she raised as her own; grandchildren, Sierra Vaquera, Ritchie Vaquera and Sara Tatch; sisters, Brenda Franco (Gilberto) of Mt. Pleasant, Linda Hudak of Mt. Pleasant and Steve Miller of Weidman, Kim Aasved (Greg) of Weidman and Darlene Wilson (Ron Johansen) of Mt. Pleasant; honorary sister, Deloris Jackson; special friends, Joe Anderson of Weidman and Jeri Chauncey of Gladwin and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Gail Wilson in 1981; childrens father; Matias Vaquera, son; little Matias Vaquera, daughter, Jennifer Wilson, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be missed by all.

Bollinger, William F.
March 18, 1919 - July 2, 2004
William F. Bollinger of Middleton, Michigan, born March 18, 1919, passed away quietly with his family at his side. William passed following a lengthy illness on July 2, 2004, at Carson City Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn, his sister; Marilyn and Jerry Greenway of Missouri, sister-in-law; Genevieve Bollinger of Marquette, daughter; Shirley and Harland Wulff of Edmore, son; Fred and Connie Bollinger of Middleton. William had four grandsons, David Wulff of Minneapolis, Derrick and Carmen Wulff of Albequerque, Shawn and Susan Bollinger of Crystal Lake and Jared Bollinger of Stanwood. Four step great-grandchildren; Justin, Sarah, Stephen and Elizabeth Brundage of Crystal Lake also survive.
William was preceded in death by his Mother and Father; Rolla and Margaret, brothers; Alex and Romer and son; Eugene.
William was a lifelong resident of Gratiot County and a farmer for over 50 years of his life. Together, he and Evelyn wintered in Bradenton, Florida for the past 29 years.
Memorial services are pending. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Williams behalf be made to; The Regional Dialysis Center, 2601 Coolidge, East Lansing, MI 48823.

Wood, Devon Marie
June 25, 2000 - July 2, 2004
Devon Marie Wood, age 4, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, July 2, 2004 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw.
A Memorial Service for Devon will be held on Tuesday, July 6, at 1 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jim Parrish officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral chapel.
Devon was dearly loved by her family who survive her, parents Jeremy and Heidi (Byers) Wood and sister Kellie Card of Mt. Pleasant, Grandparents Richard and Carol Wood of Weidman, Katy and Allan Larson of Shepherd, and Adena Tubbs of Alma; Great-grandmothers Marie Wood of Mt. Pleasant, Winifred Cole of Edenville, and Regina Smith of Weidman; special Great-uncle Bob Wood of Mt. Pleasant and special Aunt Teresa Fetters of Breckenridge, as well as by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Boyd, Barbara J.
February 10, 1947 - July 1, 2004
Barbara J. Boyd, 57, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at Spectrum Health-Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids.
Funeral Services for Barbara will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 1 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Wayne Boughan officiating. Interment will follow in the Broomfield Twp. Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 7 from 11 a.m. until time of service at the chapel.
Barbara was born on February 10, 1947 in Canton, OH, the daughter of Martin and Flossie (Hazzard) Farr. She married Fred D. Boyd on September 26, 1978 in Mt. Pleasant. Barbara enjoyed helping children and sun bathing.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Fred of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Tonia Sleight of Mt. Pleasant; one granddaughter, Shianna Marie Sleight and sisters, Margaret (Frank) Panek and Linda (Harley).
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother and son-in-law, John Sleight.

Dennis, Patricia Ann
May 29, 1964 - June 30, 2004
Patricia "Patty" Ann Dennis, 40, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 5, 2004 at 2 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ron Ives officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 until time of service at the chapel.
Patty was born on May 29, 1964 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Cecil Franklin and Scherry (Dingman) Dennis Jr. She was a beautician and an employee of Central Michigan University. Patty enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, canoeing and riding quads.
Patty is survived by her two sons, Jimi Stock and Kory Ross, both of Mt. Pleasant; one Brother, Frank (Linda) Dennis of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Becky (Rob) Warn of Shepherd and grandmother, Bernice Dennis of Mt. Pleasant.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil F. Dennis Jr.in 1974 and Scherry Toner on June 23, 2004; Stepfather, Lyn Toner; grandparents, Cecil F. Dennis, Sr., Ruth and Glen Dingman and uncles, Jimmy Dingman and Russell Ray Dennis, Sr.

Memering, Joan Carole
January 24, 1945 - June 26, 2004
Joan Carole Memering, 59, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday June 26th at home with her husband by her side after a year long battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church for visitation from 2-3 p.m. before the service.
In lieu of flowers, envelopes for donations to Heifer International; Hospice of Mt. Pleasant; American Cancer Society; or other organization you wish to support will be available at the church. For a general donation please make your gift to 'Joan's Fund.'
Joan was born on January 24, 1945 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, the daughter of Virgil and Mary (Waverczak) Shipers. Joan received her bachelor's degree from Bowling Green University and her two masters from UCLA and Central Michigan University, where she later taught English, Journalism, and Speech. On June 5, 1973 at Robinson Hall, Central Michigan University, Joan married Willard Dean Memering.
Joan, a gifted writer and teacher, enjoyed reporting for the Buyer's Guide and writing columns for the Isabella County Herald.
She was also recognized as a builder of community wherever she was. She served in the Peace Corps in Colombia. In cooperation with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, Joan was instrumental in helping many Cambodian refugee families settle in the Mt. Pleasant area.
Joan is survived by her husband, Willard Dean Memering; parents Mary (Mae) and Virgil Shipers of East Brunswick, NJ; brother, William (Debra) Shipers of Belmar, NJ; sister, Diane (Guy) Catapano of Plainsboro, NJ; her niece, Katherine Joy Shipers, also of Belmar, NJ; her godson, Samuel Robert Barclay of Mt. Pleasant, MI; and many dear friends worldwide.

Shelby, Joyce Irene
January 28, 1935 - June 25, 2004
Joyce Irene Shelby, 69, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, June 25, 2004, at Tendercare-Mt. Pleasant.
A Memorial Service for Joyce will be held on Monday, June 28, at 2 p.m. from The Church of the Brethren in Drayton Plains, with Pastor Mike Rath officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Commission on Aging or Community Cancer Services. Envelopes are available at Clark Funeral Chapel and the church.
Joyce was born January 28, 1935, the daughter of John and Mae Elizabeth (Bollinger) Miller in Pontiac. Joyce volunteered for Commission on Aging and was a member of Drayton Plains First Church of the Brethren where she was a former organist. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting.
Joyce is survived by her children Bruce (Donna) Shelby of Warren and Brenda (Steve) Hoyle of Mt. Pleasant; and grandchildren Shannon and Patrick Shelby and Kelcey and Daniel Hoyle; brothers David Miller of White Lake and Stanley Miller of Juneau, AK; and sister Marilyn McClusky of White Lake.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Melissa Shelby.

Joslen, Gerald R.
October 12, 1910 - June 25, 2004
Gerald R. Joslen, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from the Clark Funeral Chapel with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 27th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the chapel. Memorial Contributions may be made to Family. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.
Jerry was born on October 12, 1910 in Gratiot County, the son of Albert and Lovina (Holiday) Joslen. He was a decorated World War II veteran, receiving eight medals of Honor. Spending most of his life in Sumner with his wife Lucile whom he married in 1977, he relocated with her to Mt. Pleasant in 1997. He was a life member of the Alma VFW Post 1454. Jerry enjoyed baseball, hunting, fishing, and dancing.
Jerry is survived by a step daughter, Colleen Campbell of Mt. Pleasant; step grandchildren, a special nephew Fred (Donna) Joslen of Riverdale.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Lucile in May of 2001 and 2 brothers.

Toner, Scherry L.
October 16, 1944 - June 23, 2004
Scherry L. Toner, 59, of Mt. Pleasant, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at 2 p.m. from the Clark Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 1 p.m. until time of service at the chapel.
Scherry was born on October 16, 1944 in Marion, Michigan, the daughter of Glen and Ruth (Gast) Dingman. She worked as a nurse's aide and was a member of the Potter's House Family Worship Center.
Scherry is survived by her son, Frank (Linda) Dennis; daughters, Patty Dennis and Becky (Rob) Warn; grandchildren, Phillip Dennis, Amber and Aaron Warn, Kory Ross and Jimi Stock.
Scherry was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmy Dingman

Patrick, Deborah Anne
June 29, 1949 - June 20, 2004
Deborah Anne Patrick, 54, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2004 at her home.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at 7 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel with The Rev. Nancy Casey-Fulton officiating. The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. until time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454 or Mid-Michigan Hospice, 3007 Saginaw Rd., Midland, MI 48642. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.
Deborah was born on June 29, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Merritt B. and Patricia (Samsel) Miller. She married James Shannon Patrick on February 15, 1969. Deborah worked as a Registered Nurse for Visiting Nurses in Midland. She was a member of the United Ostomy Association and the Presbyterian Church.
Deborah is survived by her husband, J. Shannon Patrick of Mt. Pleasant; children, Megan Elizabeth Patrick of Mt. Pleasant and Kevin Fitzgerald (Tammy) Patrick of West Lafayette, IN; one brother, Merritt B. Miller, Jr. of Philadelphia and one sister, Jennifer (Phillip) Cipoletta of Elverson, PA.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents.

Malley, Russell Lee
January 24, 1942 - June 18, 2004
Russell Lee Malley, 62, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2004 at his home.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 21, 2004 at 11 a.m. from St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Winn, MI with Father Robert Howe officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Leo the Great Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 19, 2004 from 7-9 p.m., Sunday, June 20, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel and on Monday, June 21, 2004 from 10 until time of service at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.
Russell was born on January 24, 1942 in Isabella County, the son of William and Lillian (Machuta) Malley. He married Constance L. Earl on May 19, 1962 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Winn, MI. Russell worked construction for the local 1098. He was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, the Local 1098 and enjoyed playing steel guitar, spending time with family and friends and taking trips to the Mackinaw Bridge. Russell was a hard worker.
Russell is survived by his wife, Constance of Mt. Pleasant; children, Tammy (Greg) Seeley of Lake Isabella, Tom (Kathy) Malley of Weidman, Angie (Chris) Dutcher of Remus, Jean (Mike) Gyger of Blanchard, Scott (Debra) Malley of Shepherd, Kevin Malley of Weidman and Jason Malley of Weidman; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mother, Lillian Malley Faber of Mt. Pleasant and two brothers, Jim (Janet) Malley of Mt. Pleasant and Pat (Melissa) Malley of Farwell.
Russell was preceded in death by his father.
