CITRUS HILLS — Maria Moniz, 89, a retired bottling factory worker, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at her home.
A native of Sao Miguel, Acores, she moved here five years ago. Mrs. Moniz was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joaoda Costa.
Survivors include her daughters, Jorgina Machado and Maria C. Rego, Warren, R.I.; sisters, Conceicao Almeida, Toronto and Constantina Moniz, Sao Miguel; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Myrtle C. Nelson, 80
WEIRSDALE — Myrtle Carolyn Nelson, 80, a retired insurance clerk for Commercial Credit Corp., died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at her home.
A native of Baltimore, she moved here in 1979.
Survivors include her husband, William A. Nelson, Weirsdale; daughters, Judy N. Farring and Virginia L. Nelson, both of Weirsdale; son, William A. Nelson, Belleview; sisters, Jeanette Cascio, Weirsdale and Nellie Eames, Ferrum, Va.; brothers, Charles B. Hall, Baltimore, and Melvin Hall, Tiverton, R.I.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to Oxford United Methodist Church.

OCALA — Raul Oscar Perez, 56, owner and operator of M&R Discount Cards, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he moved here from Zephyrhills six years ago. Mr. Perez was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Reyes Perez, Ocala; daughter, Deborah Perez, Ocala; son, Edgar Perez, Ocala; sister, Norma Souto, New York City; and nine grandchildren.

Fanny Pinto, 54
OCALA — Fanny Pinto, 54, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000.
A native of Colombia, South America, she moved here from Queens, N.Y., in 1990. Ms. Pinto was Catholic.
Survivors include her sons, Edgar Alberto Pinto, Colombia, Jose Rodriguez and Thomas Rodriguez, both of Ocala; daughters, Jacqueline Giraldo, Liliana Alzate and Tatiana Rodriguez, all of Ocala; brothers, Carlos Arturo Pinto, Ruben Antonio Pinto, Luis Ernesto Pinto and Pedro Manuel Pinto, all of Colombia; sisters, Sonia deJesus Pinto, Ocala, and Blanca Alicia Pinto, Mirian Pinto and Gloria Maria Pinto, all Colombia; and seven grandchildren.

Lois T. Woodbury, 80
OCALA — Lois T. Woodbury, 80, a homemaker, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Jacksonville, she moved here 60 years ago. Mrs. Woodbury was a member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Maurice Woodbury.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Woodbury, Ocala; sons, John L. Thomas Sr., Olanta, S.C., Charles E. Woodbury, Macclenny, and Robert C.B. Woodbury and Robert Woodbury Jr., both of Ocala; daughters, Eunice M. Barnes, Sioux City, Iowa, and Joyce W. Jennings, Skokie, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Farida R. Jones, 91, a retired cattle rancher, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at her home.
A native of Germany, she moved here from Oklahoma 30 years ago. Mrs. Jones was Catholic.
Survivors include her daughter, Tamra C. Thompson, Ocala; sons, Mike C. Jones, Summerfield, and Robert D. Jones, Ocala; and seven grandchildren.

Betty M. Hansel, 70
CITRUS SPRINGS — Betty M. Hansel, 70, a homemaker, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, in Crystal River.
A native of Marysville, Mich., she moved to Citrus Springs from Ocala four years ago. Mrs. Hansel was Protestant.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Floyd Hansel, Citrus Springs; daughters, Gail Brown, Burton, Mich., Wanda Hansel and Tammy Hansel, both of Mount Morris, Mich.; sons, Gary Hansel, Rome, N.Y., and Scott Hansel, Mount Clemens, Mich.; sister, Joyce Mortinger, Liberal, Kan.; brother, Dana Mitchell, Salt Lake City; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

INGLIS — Minnie D. Kirkland, 98, a homemaker, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, in Crystal River.
A native of Broaddus, Texas, she moved here in 1912. Mrs. Kirkland was a member of Red Level Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Herbert Clyde Kirkland, Inglis; sisters, Faye Georgette, Jacksonville, Abby Hood, Inglis, and Flonnie Hood, Inverness; brother, Kelly Runnels, Inglis; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Thomas R. Metz, 69
SILVER SPRINGS — Thomas "Tex" Richard Metz, 69, a truck driver, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000.
A native of Cumberland, Md., he moved here from Lexington, Va., in 1971. Mr. Metz was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 10111. He was an Air Force veteran and served in the National Guard for five years.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Lee Campbell, Silver Springs; son, Billy Joe Metz, Covina, Calif.; daughter, Wanda Lee Shawcross, Baltimore; and five grandchildren.

Frank J. Miller, 92
SUMMERFIELD — Frank Miller, 92, a retired railroad manager, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Miller was a native of Paterson, N.J.
Survivors include his son, Richard Miller, New Jersey; sister, Grace E. Miller, Summerfield; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Betty A. Murphy, 61
DUNNELLON — Betty Ann Murphy, 61, a driver for Apollo Transportation Inc., died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000.
A native of Connecticut, she moved here from West Palm Beach in 1960.
Survivors include her son, Walter A. Wiggins, Morriston; daughters, Christy DeFrancis and Margaret White, both of Dunnellon; sister, Margaret Clopton, West Palm Beach; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mary C. Pluff, 95
HOMOSASSA — Mary C. Pluff, 95, a former business owner, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital, in Crystal River.
A native of Aberdeen, Scotland, she moved to Homosassa from Ocala in 1989. Mrs. Pluff was the owner of Molly Bell's Restaurant and Tavern in Washington.
Survivors include her husband, William J. Pluff, Homosassa; son, Michael Bell, Kingsville, Texas; and a granddaughter.

Estus B. Smith, 82
OCALA — Estus Bill Smith, 82, a civil servant, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at Ocala Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Morgantown, Miss., he moved here from Apopka two weeks ago. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He was a graduate of McComb High School, McComb, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma Lee Purl Smith.
Survivors include his son, Joseph Smith, Ocala; brother, Gerald Smith, Jackson, La.; and four grandchildren.

Catherine A. Stone, 64
FORT McCOY — Catherine Alice Stone, 64, a homemaker, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Afton, N.Y., she moved here in 1968.
Survivors include her sons, Edward Martin Stone, Tampa, and Lawrence Bennett, Georgetown, Ky.; daughters, Cheryl Bennett, Gainesville, and Lynne Anne Carrol, Fort McCoy; and 12 grandchildren.

Kendall R. Thomas, 59
FORT McCOY — Kendall Richard Thomas, 59, an electrician for the Institute of Food and Agricultural Science at University of Florida, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Thomas was a native and a lifelong resident of Ocala. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Mr. Thomas was Protestant.
Survivors include his wife, Hoyalene Parramore Thomas, Fort McCoy; father, Hugh E. Thomas, Ocala; daughters, Kim Waler, Plantation, Vanessa Thomas-Mikesell and Brandi Jordan, both of Fort McCoy; son, Troy Brown, Sunrise; sisters, Hughlene Sadler, Bullock, N.C., and Rhonda Rousseau, Hickory, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
