Clara R. Swain, 90
OCALA — Clara Rodolph Swain, 90, a retired seamstress, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Marion House Health Care Center.
A native of Titusville, she moved here in 1910. Mrs. Swain retired from Blocker's Dress Shop, after 45 years of service. She was a member of Downtown Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Swain Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne Swain Stokes-Dabney, Ocala; sister, Annie Belle Martin, Ocala; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jessie T. Vance, 84
ALACHUA — Jessie T. Vance, 84, a homemaker, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Vance was a native and a lifelong resident of Ocala. She was Presbyterian.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly V. Wurts, Gainesville; and two grandchildren.

Clarence E. Hedges Sr., 96
OCALA — Clarence Everett Hedges Sr., 96, a retired store manager for Lilly Brook and Raven Coal in West Virginia, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000.
A native of Williamstown, Ky., he moved here from Hernando in 1995. Mr. Hedges Sr. was a member of United Methodist Church of Hernando.
Mr. Hedges was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hedges in 1986.
Survivors include his sons, Clarence E. Hedges, Cortland, Ohio, and Williams R. Hedges, Ocala; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Lizzie T. Love, 90
FLORAL CITY — Lizzie Tharpe Love, 90, a retired citrus fruit grader, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Citrus Health and Rehabilitation Center in Inverness.
A native of Wrightsville, Ga., she moved to Floral City from Ocala 12 years ago. Mrs. Love was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Floral City.
Mrs. Love was preceded in death by her husband, George Love in 1971; and son, George W. Love in 1999.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Burke, Floral City, Joyce Mackey, Georgetown, Ga., and Sara Love, Ocala; brother, David D. Prather, Cocoa; sister, Susie Davis, Cocoa; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Emilio Rodriguez, 87
BEVERLY HILLS — Emilio Rodriguez, 87, a hotel industry worker, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, in Lecanto.
A native of Puerto Rico, he moved here from New York in 1979. Mr. Rodriguez was Catholic. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Cecilia Rodriguez, Beverly Hills.

Eugene J. Smith, 76
SUMMERFIELD — Eugene J. Smith, 76, a retired foreman and meter repairman, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Surrey Place Convalescent Center in Ocala.
A native of Lake Geneva, Wis., he moved here from Burlington, Wis., 10 years ago. Mr. Smith attended Community Baptist Church of Summerfield. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2823 in Burlington.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Smith, Summerfield; daughters, Paula Nelson, and Sandra Nelson, both of Belleview; son, David E. Smith, Ocala; sister, Betty Fulton, Lyons, Wis.; and four grandchildren.

Ruby M. Huellhorst, 84
DUNNELLON — Ruby May Huellhorst, 84, a retired secretary for the federal government, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Harrison, Ark., she came to Dunnellon from Kensington, Md., in 1968. Mrs. Huellhorst was a member of Lake Tropicana Garden Club.
Survivors include her cousin, Genetta McGee, Cocoa; and other relatives.

Ward L. Miller, 55
OCALA — Ward L. Miller, 55, a retired roofer for Singles Roofing Co., died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Peoria, Ill., he came here from Melbourne in 1999. Mr. Miller attended United Pentecostal Church and was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Rose E. Miller, Ocala; daughters, Lori Collins and Andrea Miller, both of Ocala, and Laura Miller, Melbourne; son, James Miller, Jacksonville; several brothers and sisters; and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to United Pentecostal Church Building Fund.

Kars Schonveld, 94
WEBSTER — Kars Schonveld, 94, a retired bridge tender for the New Jersey Bridge Commission in Burlington County, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at his residence.
A native of Holland, he came to Webster from Tampa, in 1999.
Survivors include his son, Kars J. Schonveld, Webster; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Eugene J. Smith, 77
SUMMERFIELD — Eugene J. Smith, 77, a retired meter-repair foreman for Wisconsin Southern Gas Co., died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Surrey Place Convalescent Center in Ocala.

MARION OAKS — Joseph Stanley Barrett, 65, a retired master sergeant for the U.S. Air Force, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A Chicago native, Mr. Barrett was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Paula G. Barrett, Marion Oaks; sister, Evelyn Zahour, Naperville, Ill.

Wilbur Campbell, 63
OCALA — Wilbur "Bocus" Campbell, 63, a heavy-equipment operator and farmer, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at a Shands Hospital in Gainesville
A native of Belle Glade, he came here in 1946. Mr. Campbell was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Campbell, mother, Thelma Campbell, both of Ocala; daughters, Donna Smith, Ellen Campbell and Tammy Broddle, all of Ocala, and Jenifer Jones, Richmond, Va.; sons, Wallace Campbell, Ocala, Randy Campbell, Dunnellon, and Kevin Campbell, Grand Rapids, Mich.; sisters, Margie Davis, Ester Henry, Ellen Griggs and Brenda Bibb, all of Ocala, and Shirley Imgram, Gainesville; brothers, Delba Campbell, Boca Tello, Idaho, Coley Campbell, Tallahassee, and Stanley Campbell, Anthony; and 16 grandchildren.

Beatrice B. Donovan, 82
HOMESTEAD HILLS, N.C. — Beatrice Bicknell Donovan, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at the Oaks at Forsyth, N.C.
A native of McDowell County, W.Va., Mrs. Donovan lived in Ocala, Birmingham and Michigan.
Survivors include her daughter, Terry O'Neill, Clemmons, N.C.; son, Thomas W. Donovan, Jr., Cheboygan, Mich.; sister, Myrtle; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Thomas William Donovan, Sr., and brother, Harlow Bicknell.

HOMOSASSA — Richard Florian Blend, 80, a retired insurance claims manager, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000.
A native of Hamilton, Ohio, he moved here from Largo 14 years ago. Mr. Blend was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Phyllis Drennen Blend, Homosassa; sons, David A. Campbell, Melbourne and Mark Blend, Santa Clara, Calif.; and daughter, Beverly Beirl, Largo.
