ANTHONY — Daniel Marvin Dean, 87, a retired auto body repairman for Marion County School Board, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Coventry.
A native of Boswell, Okla., he moved here from Wytheville, Va., in 1949. Mr. Dean was a native of Anthony Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie B. Dean.
He is survived by his son, Clarence F. Dean, Anthony; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Dieter, 82
OCALA — Kenneth Dieter, 82, a meteorologist for National Weather Service, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at home.
A native of Wheeling, W.Va., he moved here from Columbia, S.C., 14 years ago. Mr. Dieter was a member of American Bridge Association. He enjoyed playing tennis and bridge. Mr. Dieter served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Dieter, Ocala; daughter, Diane Harper, McGrady, N.C.; stepson, Jeffery Kehusmaa, Dallas; sister, Rose Rose, Vero Beach; and one grandchild.

Mozel Dixon, 68
DUNNELLON — Mozel Dixon, 68, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.
A native of Lacoochee, he moved to Dunnellon from Hernando 25 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Florece Dixon, Hernando; son, Meredyth Dixon, Hernando; stepson, Michael Redding, Hernando; and brothers, Isiah Dixon, Dunnellon, Tommie Dixon, Crystal River, Freddie Dixon and James Dixon, both of Riviera Beach.

Virginia Fury, 72
SILVER SPRINGS — Virginia Fury, 72, a homemaker, died Thursday, March 29, 2001.
A native of Darlington, S.C., she moved here from Tampa in 1995. Mrs. Fury was Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, John Fury, Silver Springs; daughter, Debbie Galvan, Omaha, Neb.; brothers, Ed Reed, Florence, S.C., and Claude "Jack" Reed, Pittsburgh; sister, Helen Haiman, Ellenville, N.Y.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Richard P. Haley, 74
DUNNELLON — Richard Prentiss Haley, 74, a retired traffic engineer for Dade County, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, in Ocala.
A native of Melrose, Mass., he moved here from Hollywood in 1982. Mr. Haley was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2500. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his brother, William Haley, Whitefield, N.H.; and sisters, Eleanor Anderton, Summerfield, Joan Etz, Massachusetts, and Barbara Baudreau, Orange, Calif.

Preston D. Legg, 68
SUMMERFIELD — Preston Dean Legg, 68, retired, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Gainesville.
A native of Piketon, Ohio, he moved to Florida 60 years ago. Mr. Legg was a member of the Elks, Loyal Order of the Moose, the Masons, Scottish Rite; and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8083 in Belleview. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Legg, Summerfield; daughters, Patsy Butler, Alexander City, Ala., Sonja Legg, Alabama, and Karrie Slaydon, Summerfield; sisters, Mary A. Anderson, Fort Pierce, and Skeeter Skelton, Florida; and one grandchild.

Selby L. Lightbody, 84
SILVER SPRINGS — Selby Lee Lightbody, 84, a retired corporate secretary and chief cost accountant, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Marion House Health Care Center.
A native of Daykin, Neb., he moved here from Indiana, Pa., 20 years ago. Mr. Lightbody retired from Seasons-All Industries in 1981. He attended Ocala Grace Bretheren Church, Faith Baptist Church in Silver Springs, and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Mr. Lightbody served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Lightbody.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruth A. Lightbody, Silver Springs; daughters, Sue E. Nichols, Weatherby Lake, Mo., and Christine Binando, Romeo, Mich.; son, William Lightbody, New Philadelphia, Ohio; sister, Vivian F. Smudski, Grand Island, N.Y.; brothers, Hugh Lightbody, Dalton, Ga., and Robert E. Lightbody, Silver Springs; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Ocala Grace Bretheren Church General Fund.

OCALA — William "Billy" Lewis, 28, a driver for 7-Day Hay Trucking, died Sunday, March 25, 2001.
A native of Tampa, he moved here 10 years ago. Mr. Lewis was Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia Lewis , Ocala; mother, Susan Howe, Ocala; grandmother, Blanche Scruggs, Tampa; sister, Carolyn Howe, Ocala; and brother, Charles Howe Jr., Ocala.

Betty C. Pankuch, 87
BEVERLY HILLS — Betty C. Pankuch, 87, a retired sales associate for Higbee's and Dy-Dee Wash, died Wednesday, March, 28, 2001, in Ocala.
A native of Cleveland, she moved here from Concord, Ohio, 14 years ago. Mrs. Pankuch was a member of Beverly Hills Community Church and volunteered at Citrus Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph G. Pankuch.
Survivors include her son, Bruce Pankuch, Orlando; daughter, Joyce Benson, Pembroke, N.H.; sisters, Rose Miklos, Mentor, Ohio, and Sandra Caplan, North Olmsted, Ohio; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

SUMMERFIELD — Rita Ann Roman, 56, a fashion designer, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Conventry.
A native of Newport, R.I., she moved here from New York in 1975. Ms. Roman was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was Catholic.
Survivors include her son, Ross Belovich, Cuddebackville, N.Y.; daughter, Lisa Mott, Waldon, N.Y.; mother, Ann Snyder, Ocala; father, Roman F. Mikuszewski, Liberty, N.Y.; sisters, Susan VanKleek, Pomona, N.Y., Carol Valenza, Albany, N.Y., and Laurie J. Smith, Kansas City, Mo.; brothers, Roman F. Mikuszewski Jr., Summerfield, Edward Mikuszewski, Newburgh, N.Y., Edward Mikuszewski, Highland Falls, N.Y., Michael Mikuszewski, Brookfield, N.Y., Tim Mikuszewski, Pearl River, N.Y., and Patrick Mikuszewski, Melbourne; and four grandchildren.

OCALA — Virginia Gertrude "Peggy" Walkowiak, 88, a retired beautician, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001.
A native of Milwaukee, she moved here from Boca Raton in 1997. Mrs. Walkowiak was a member of Blessed Trinity Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Florian "Bill" Walkowiak.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Blecka, Ocala; sister, Eleanore Moderski, Milwaukee; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Robert V. Bender, 78, an insurance salesman, died Saturday, June 16, 2001.
A native of Cleveland, he moved here from Gainesville in 1998. Mr. Bender was a member of Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Bender, Ocala; son, Jeffrey Bender, Belgium, Wis.; and two grandchildren.

Joseph Buchko, 80
OCALA — Joseph Buchko, 80, retired, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Askam, Pa., he moved here from Falls Church, Va., 27 years ago. Mr. Buchko retired from the U.S. government, where he worked in military intelligence. He was a member of The Episcopal Church of St. Mary, lifetime Veterans of Foreign Wars; and Loyal Order of the Moose, West Marion. Mr. Buchko was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Helen V. Buchko, Ocala; daughters, Melinda Keuroglian, Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and Sharon Collins, Jacksonville; sons, Michael S. Buchko, Solomons Island, Md., and Joseph F. Buchko, Vienna, Va.; stepsons, Alan Young, Mechanicsville, Va., and Glenn Young, Roanoke, Va.; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A native of West Virginia, she moved to Ocala from Shinnston, W.Va., 47 years ago. Mrs. Cheuvront was Protestant.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura J. Hogan, Wellston, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

LEESBURG — Esther Clark, 87, a homemaker, died Monday, June 18, 2001.
A native of Omega, Ga., she moved to Leesburg from Tifton, Ga., in 1930. Mrs. Clark was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg.
Survivors include her sons, Tommy Clark, Ocklawaha, Dickie Clark, Leesburg, Roger Clark, Delray Beach, and David Clark, Apopka; daughters, Susie White, Yalaha, Shirley Guerry and Martha G. Huff, both of Leesburg; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Marjorie S. Dalziel, 72
INVERNESS — Marjorie "Bobbie" Signa Dalziel, 72, a retired manager for the 19th Hole restaurant in Citrus Hills Country Club, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at home.
A native of Miami, she moved to Inverness from Dunnellon six months ago. Mrs. Dalziel was crowned the first Queen of Dunnellon.
Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey W. Dalziel, California, James L. Dalziel and Edward J. "Jack" Dalziel, both of Florida, Jerry V. Dalziel and Richard J. "Jake" Dalziel, both of South Carolina; daughters, Marjorie J. "Jean" Paolucci, Indiana, Pauline J. "Jan" Emrich, South Carolina, and Florence J. "Joan" DeMott, Florida; sisters, Vivian A. Hill and Judith F. Dempsey, both of Florida, Florence R. "Misty" Hicks and Joyce E. Gainey, both of Georgia; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Sam P. Dionise, 80, a retired carpenter, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, at Estelle's Hospice House.
A native of Rochester, N.Y., he moved here from Miami 14 years ago. Mr. Dionise was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Dionise, Ocala; sons, Chuck Dionise and Lenny Dionise, both of Ocala; daughter, Marie Kaurich, Virginia Gardens; and sisters, Rose Corsetti, Rochester, and Connie Tripp, Ocala.
