A native of Malvern, Ohio, she moved here in 1959. Mrs. Hewitt was Presbyterian.
Survivors include her daughter, Marcia Williams, Ocala; son, Neil R. Hewitt, Boca Raton; brother, Howard Reed, Delray Beach; and one grandchild.

WILDWOOD — Clare M. Jochum, 78, a homemaker, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001.
A native of Cicero, Ill., she moved here in 1968. Mrs. Jochum was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Art Jochum, Wildwood; sons, Paul Jochum, Wildwood, and Larry Jochum, Downers Grove, Ill.; daughters, Audrey Bogdan, Lake Zurich, Ill., and Alice Oglesby, Lake Panasoffkee; brother, Edward Newel, New Port Richey; sister, Ethel Novak, Countryside, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Marguerite K. Mackey, 83
OCALA — Marguerite K. Mackey, 83, a homemaker, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of West Virginia, she moved here from Miami in 1966. Mrs. Mackey was a member of First Christian Disciples of Christ and a former member of the original Ocala orchestra.
Survivors include her son, James W. Mackey, Winchester, Ill.; daughter, Judy A. Stygar, Gary, Ind.; sisters, Geneva Wright, Glen Dale, W.Va., and Lena Wykle, Ocala; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

Robert W. Metzger, 81
OCALA — Robert W. Metzger, 81, a retired high school administrator, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at Lifecare Center of Ocala.
A native of Bridgeport, Conn., he moved here from Newtown, Conn., 21 years ago. Mr. Metzger was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4209, Ocala; and Bon Homme Richard aircraft carrier retired group.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Hildegard Metzger, Ocala; daughters, Elaine Metzger, Atlanta, Janice R. Dawid, Monroe, Conn., and Marcia F. Liddy, Lake Forest, Ill.; brothers, Philip Metzger, Fairfield, Conn., and Andrew Metzger, St. Leo; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eve G. Metzger.

A native of Waterbury, Conn., she moved here in 1985. Mrs. Muscillo was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Beverly Hills; and Pine Ridge Women's Golf League.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, John M. Muscillo, Beverly Hills; brother, Ralph C. Affe, Beverly Hills; and sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Cristofano, Waterbury.

Kenneth D. Nelson, 77
BELLEVIEW — Kenneth Duane Nelson, 77, a retired food sanitation inspector, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Morris, Ill., he moved here from Grayslake, Ill., in 1982. Mr. Nelson retired from Sara Lee after 15 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War, retiring after 20 years.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Aileen Nelson, Belleview; daughters, Sandra Matheney, Ocklawaha, and Debra Ultsch, Trevor, Wis.; son, Kenneth Nelson, Tampa; brother, Roger Nelson, Blairsville, Ga.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Joseph E. Twigg, 73
OCALA — Joseph Edward Twigg, 73, a retired steel worker, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Wiley Ford, W.Va., he moved here in 1994. Mr. Twigg was a member of Central Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce M. Twigg, Ocala; daughter, Vicki L. Taylor, Pensacola; sons, Michael E. Twigg, San Diego, and Mark A. Twigg, Ocala; and seven grandchildren.

George A. VanAtter, 84
LEESBURG — George Andrew VanAtter, 84, a retired dairy manager, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at Leesburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. VanAtter was a native of Canton, N.Y. He was a member of Christian Business Men's Association; an active member of Berean Baptist Church; and a former active member of First Baptist Church, Mayville, N.Y., and Calvary Baptist Church, Silver Springs Shores.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Alberta C. VanAtter, Leesburg; daughters, Carol L. Creal, Nanton, Alberta, and Mary Jane Elliott, Lexington, Ky.; son, Donald G. VanAtter, Mayville; sister, Margaret Bly, Jamestown, N.Y.; brothers, Earl VanAtter and C. Mahlon VanAtter, Spring Hill; five grandchildren; and four grandchildren.

John W. Corwine Sr., 85
OCALA — John Walter Corwine Sr., 85, a retired registered professional engineer for St. Joe Minerals, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Little Rock, Ark., he moved here from New York in 1984. Mr. Corwine was an active member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and a member of Ocala Elks Lodge. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Corwine, Ocala; stepdaughters, Margaret B. Armstrong, Starke, and Dixie M. Miller, Tampa; sons, John W. Corwine Jr., Shelby, N.C., Edgar M. Corwine, Kearneysville, W.Va., Christopher H. Corwine, Ocala, and Mark H. Corwine, Andover, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Clara B. Corwine.

Harry Devecks, 76
DUNNELLON — Harry Devecks, 76, a retired truck driver, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of Martins Ferry, Ohio, he moved here from Marathon Shores 16 years ago. Mr. Devecks served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was Catholic.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Barbara Angelici, Memphis, Tenn.; two step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Devecks, who died Nov. 16, 1998.

Jim Homan, 66
BELLEVIEW — Jim Homan, 66, a water tester for the city of Ocala, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa., he moved here from Bucks County, Pa., in 1978. Mr. Homan was a member of First Baptist Church of Belleview and Rhythm Rangers Band. He served in the U.S. Marines.
Survivors include his wife, Jerrie Homan, Belleview; mother, Isabel McGee, North Port; sons, Jim Homan and David Homan, both of Belleview; sister, Jean Murray, North Port; brother, George Homan, Harrisburg, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Homan.

Dr. Jenkins was a former chief of staff and board member of Citrus Memorial Hospital, member of Citrus Memorial Hospital Foundation and Black Diamond Country Club, former member of American Medical Association and Florida Medical Association; and attended First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Claire Jenkins, Lecanto; sons, Brent Jenkins, Ormond Beach, and Blake Jenkins, Inverness; daughter, Dawn J. Mundy, Inverness; brothers, Dr. D. Orvin Jenkins, Lecanto, and Dr. L.L. "Buddy" Jenkins, Brandon; sister, Voncille Powell, Tallahassee; and four grandchildren.

INVERNESS — Adalee F. Jones, 77, retired owner and operator of Starkey Gardens Beauty Shop, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, in Hernando.
A native of West Virginia, she moved here from Largo in 1965. Mrs. Jones attended Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Peter C. Jones, Inverness; sons, Rev. Peter C. Jones, Lake Wales, Thomas W. Jones, Hernando, and John C. Jones, Lecanto; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A native of Warrick, R.I., he moved here 15 years ago. Mr. Morgan retired from General Electric after 42 years. He was an active volunteer and a master and commissioner for Boy Scouts of America. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
