Elsie Parris, 87
OCKLAWAHA — Elsie Parris, 87, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at Integrated Health Services in Sebring.
A native of Gate City, Va., she moved here from Kingsport, Tenn., in 1947. Mrs. Parris was a member of Ocklawaha United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star, Belleview chapter.
Survivors include two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Parris; and son, Wayne Parris.

James B. Peacock, 75
TALLAHASSEE — James B. Peacock, 75, a worker in the trucking industry, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001.
A native of Williston, he moved to Tallahassee 15 years ago. Mr. Peacock served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by a sister, Anabel M. Wainright, Tallahassee.

Henry A. Pohl Jr., 81
OCALA — Henry "Hank" A. Pohl Jr., 81, a retired insurance auditor, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of New York City, he moved here from Miami in 1991. Mr. Pohl was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Pohl, Ocala; sons, Hank Pohl, Miami, and John Pohl, Houston; sister, Bertha Hilliard, Asheville, N.C.; and one grandchild.

Otha Poole, 72
OCALA — Otha Poole, 72, a retired plumber, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Poole was a native of Hermitage, Ark. He was a member of Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Poole served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his brothers, O.C. Poole, Chicago, and Leodis Poole, Hermitage; and sister, Mollie Heath, Hermitage.

Donald R. Rathbun, 84
OCALA — Donald R. Rathbun, 84, a retired coach and administrator in Newaygo, Mich., public schools, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at Lifecare Center of Ocala.
A native of Custer, Mich., he moved here from Newaygo, Mich., two years ago. Mr. Rathbun was Protestant.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys M. Rathbun, Ocala; and son, David Rathbun, Ocala.

Josephine H. Sudol, 84
OCALA — Josephine H. Sudol, 84, a retired assembly worker, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at home.
A native of New Haven, Conn., she moved here from Woodbridge, Conn., in 1980. Mrs. Sudol was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include her brothers, Stanley Formanski, Wallingford, Conn., Walter Formanski and Henry Formanski, both of East Haven, Conn.; and sisters, Sophie Adams, Cheshire, Conn., Irene Ryszczyk and Antoinette Cavanaugh, both of East Haven.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sudol.

Hunter D. Taylor
SUMMERFIELD — Hunter D. Taylor, an infant, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Hunter was Baptist.
Survivors include his parents, Adam and Kerry Taylor, Summerfield; brother, Garrett Taylor, Summerfield; sister, Jessica Taylor, Summerfield; and grandparents, Barbara Mechura, Belleview, Douglas Esterly, New York, and Garry and Linea Taylor, Pennsylvania.

Van Buran Wheeler, 84
OCALA — Van Buran Wheeler, 84, a retired educator, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at home.
A native of Martin, he was a lifelong resident of Marion County. Mr. Wheeler was a member of Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Harold Holt, Ocala; daughter, Verda M. Green, Ocala; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Vivian R. Barnes, 81
SILVER SPRINGS — Vivian R. Barnes, 81, a retired production worker for General Foods, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001.
A native of New York, she moved here from Auburn, N.Y., in 1971. Mrs. Barnes was Protestant.
Survivors include her son, Mark Barnes, Ocala; daughter, Dawn Dunbar, Ocala; and two grandchildren.

Katharine H. Densmore, 86
OCKLAWAHA — Katharine H. Densmore, 86, a retired librarian, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001.
A native of Ann Arbor, Mich., she moved here from Charlottesville, Va., in 1997. Mrs. Densmore attended Grace Episcopal Church and was a member of Key West Garden Club.
Survivors include her son, David H. Leech, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; daughters, Kristine L. Bloomquist, Jamestown, N.Y., and Sandra L. Graham, Ocklawaha; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Susan L. Jensen, 33
SILVER SPRINGS — Susan L. Jensen, 33, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.
A native of Santa Clara, Calif., she moved here in 1978.
Survivors include her daughter, Heather Jensen, Silver Springs; son, Eric Jensen, Silver Springs; mother, Violet Hoff, Ocala; father, Leon Hoff, Cocoa Beach; sisters, Sherry Boteilho and Amanda Hoff, both of Ocala; brothers, Mark Hoff and Mike Hoff, both of Ocala; and grandmother, Hautince N. Beeler, Ocala.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Jensen.

Cathlee Johnson, 65
OCALA — Cathlee Johnson, 65, a homemaker, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Johnson was a native and a lifelong resident of Ocala. She was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Rev. Isaiah Johnson, Titusville, Edward Johnson and Robert L. Johnson, both of Ocala; sisters, Mary Hope, Summerfield, Willie M. Rhodes and Althea Gadsden, both of Ocala; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lillian McBride, 90
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Lillian McBride, 90, a retired professional dancer, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001.
A native of Savannah, Ga., she moved to Columbia from Ocala four years ago. Mrs. McBride was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sister, Sarah Richardson, Bronx, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry McBride, who died July 1, 1996.

Doris E. McLean, 36
CONOVER, N.C. — Doris E. McLean, 36, a legal secretary for J. Richard Rudisill Jr., died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at Catawba Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. McLean was a native of Orlando. She was a 1983 graduate of Lake Weir High School. Mrs. McLean attended Episcopal Church of the Epiphany.
Survivors include her parents, Dick and Diane McLean, Weirsdale; sister, Carolyn M. Rowe, Ocala; and brothers, Frank W. McLean, Belleview and Robert K. McLean.

J. Roger Pelletier, 73
SUMMERFIELD — J. Roger Pelletier, 73, a former business owner, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, in Ocala.
Mr. Pelletier was a native of Westbrook, Maine. He was owner and operator of Indian Campground of Raymond, Maine. Mr. Pelletier was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille M. Pelletier, Summerfield; daughters, Deborah Shoaf, Capistrano Beach, Calif., and Michelle Pelletier, Biddeford, Maine; son, Thomas Pelletier, Saco, Maine; sisters, Germaine Lavigne, Vermont and Theresa Brautigan, Naples, Maine; and nine grandchildren.

OCALA — Ida Williams, 80, a former nanny, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001.
A native of Jamaica, she moved here from Kingston, Jamaica, in 1952. Ms. Williams was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sisters, Mavis Ford and Joyce Williams, both of Canada; and brother, Kenneth Williams, New York.

Edward Bawden, 71
OCALA — Edward Bawden, 71, retired, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001.
A native of London, he moved here from Spring Grove, Ill., in 1996. Mr. Bawden retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co., after 20 years. He was a member of Ocala West United Methodist Church, and he was a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Bawden, Ocala; son, Edward J. Bawden, Knightdale, N.C.; daughters, Evelyn Gething, Harrow, England, Vicki Uselton, McHenry, Ill., and Sylvia Rosenquist, Antioch, Ill.; sisters, Lillian Muggleston, Wales, and Margaret Bawden, London; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A native of Bay City, Mich., she moved here from Boulder, Colo., in 1988. Mrs. Brickhouse was a member of Ocala Word of Faith Church.
Survivors include her husband of 18 years, R. Ben Brickhouse, Inverness; son, David Brickhouse, Inverness; daughter, Morgan Brickhouse, Inverness; parents, Dutch and Taka Hanes, McMillian, Mich.; brother, David Hanes, Loveland, Colo.; and sisters, Susan Hanes, Longmont, Colo., and Liz Roberts, Aurora, Colo.

OCALA — Ronald R. Ely, 32, a former hotel manager, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001.
A native of Gainesville, he moved here from South Miami a short time ago.
Survivors include his mother, Janice Ely, Ocala; sister, Tammy Ely, Lake City; brother, Joe Shead, Miami; and grandparents, Louise Marshall, Gainesville, Ray French and Lucille French, both of Palatka.

A native of Anamosa, Iowa, she moved here in 1965. Mrs. Forde was a member of Ocala Word of Faith Church.
Survivors include her husband, David Forde, Ocala; son, Justin Forde, Ocala; daughter, Brittany Forde, Ocala; sisters, Sharon Clark, Ocala, and Michelle Randolph, Port Orange; mother, Virginia Adams, Ocala; and stepfather, Carl Adams, Ocala.
