OCALA — Eugene Glynn Ryals, 70, a retiree of the U.S. Marine Corps, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001.
Mr. Ryals was a native and lifelong resident of Ocala.
Survivors include his sons, Eugene G. "Bubba" Ryals, Silver Springs, and M. Brent Ryals, Ocala; stepson, Ashton Allison, Georgia; daughters, Glynnis Fordham, Rose Holt and Carla Parker, all of Ocala; stepdaughter, Johanna Coranette, Fairfield, Iowa; brother, George L. Ryals, Ocala; sister, Barbara J. Berry, Ocala; and ex-wives, Mary R. Morain, Silver Springs, and Jane Ryals, Fairfield, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and five grandchildren.

Joyce F. Thomas, 52
OCALA — Joyce Faydelle Thomas, 52, a homemaker, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Thomas was a native and a lifelong resident of Ocala.
Survivors include her husband, Willie F. Thomas, Ocala; sons, Keenan Guyton Sr., Willie F. Thomas Jr. and David W. Thomas, all of Ocala; and two grandchildren.

Florence T. Westermann, 75
INVERNESS — Florence Theresa Westermann, 75, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001 in Lecanto.
A native of New York City, she moved here from Sayville, N.Y., in 1972. Mrs. Westermann was Catholic.
Survivors include her sons, Michael G. Westermann, Bayport, N.Y., George J. Westermann, Altamonte Springs, John J. Westermann and Joseph P. Westermann, both of Lecanto; daughter, Cathy M. Wareham, Garrisonville, Va.; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Westermann.

Roland T. Witherwax, 62
CITRA — Roland T. Witherwax, 62, a retired police officer, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at home.
A native of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., he moved here 18 years ago. Mr. Witherwax was a member of Police Athletic League and had served in the U.S. Navy. He was Protestant.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Dorothy Witherwax, Citra; sons, Wayne R. Witherwax, Poughkeepsie, and Roland T. Witherwax Jr., Kissimee; sister, Beverly Carpenter, DeFuniak Springs; brother, Donald Witherwax, Ocklawaha; and two grandchildren.

OCALA — Angela Grippo, 88, a retired beautician, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001.
A native of Manhattan, N.Y., she moved here from Queens, N.Y., in 1971.

Lorraine N. King, 71
SUMMERFIELD — Lorraine N. King, 71, a retired executive secretary for Makem Corp., died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved here from Gilsum, N.H., in 1991. Mrs. King was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband Carroll King, Summerfield; daughter, Deborah A. Cordo, Wayne, N.J.; son, Matthew C. King, Westport, N.H.; two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David C. King.

A native of Carryville, Ark., he moved here from Roseville, Mich., in 1981. Mr. Landrum was a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Landrum, Ocklawaha; sons, John Landrum, Sunnyside, N.Y., Paul Landrum, Ocala, Michael Landrum and Keith Landrum, both of Ocklawaha; daughters, Jacqueline Kelley, Kissimmee, Barbara Peta, Ocklawaha, Cynthia Osborn, Silver Springs; brothers, Truman Landrum, Rector, Ark., and Donald Landrum, Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Pauline Bedard, Marine City, Mich., Faye Bonbrisco, Clinton, Mich., and Wilma Moore, Roseville, Mich.; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

SILVER SPRINGS — Mercedes Macklin, 84, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of Chicago, she moved here from East Troy, Wis., in 1983. Mrs. Macklin was a member of St. Joseph of the Forest Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Orville L. Macklin, Silver Springs; sons, Gregory J. Macklin, Fort Pierce and Gerald L. Macklin, Silver Springs; daughter, Mary M. Belmore, Williston; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

BELLEVIEW — Wilma Sarah Martin, 64, a shoe inspector, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at home.

Survivors include her daughter, Valerie McGraw, Belleview; son, James Martin, Belleview; sister, Anges Snow, Pembroke, N.H.; brother, David Gates, Louisana; and six grandchildren.

David N. Roberts, 69
GRANT — David Norman Roberts, 69, a mechanic, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.
Mr. Roberts was a native of Chicago. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Roberts was a member of Mechanics Local No. 725.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Lee Stuart Roberts, Grant; sons, David Roberts, Stone Mountain, Ga., Paul Roberts, Tucker, Ga., and John Roberts, Grant; sisters, Faye Aldeman, Atlanta, Betty McGranie and Virginia Aldeman, both of Ocala; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Grace N. Bradford, 79
OCALA — Grace N. Bradford, 79, a retired stitcher, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at St. Lucie Hospital in Port St. Lucie.
A native of Worcester, Mass., she moved here from Upton, Mass., 15 years ago. Mrs. Bradford retired from Kartiganer Hat Co. after 30 years. She was a member and former auxiliary president of George L. Wood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and a communicant of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Bradford Sr., Upton, Stephen Bradford, Holliston, Mass., and Joseph Bradford, Jacksonville; daughter, Donna Johnson, Port St. Lucie; brothers, Henry Minor, Grafton, Mass., Joseph Minor, Winter Springs, and Norman Minor, Sutton, Mass.; sisters, Rose Cousineau, Upton, Alice O'Connell, Worcester, and Dorothy Plante, Feeding Hills, Mass.; and four grandchildren.

A native of Presque Isle, Maine, she moved here from Fort Lauderdale 35 years ago. Mrs. Deaton enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Richards, Bronson; daughter, Constance Prince, Chicago; brother, Alan H. Lamoreau, Presque Isle; sisters, Joyce Veysey, Bangor, Maine, Nina Coffin, East Windsor, Conn., Norma Berry, Cedartown, Ga., and Diane Capen, Fall River, Maine; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

DUNNELLON — Clayton Hutson Haigh, 83, a retired glazier, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001.
A native of Medfield, Mass., he moved here in 1986. Mr. Haigh was a lifetime member of American Legion Post No. 110. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Annie S. Haigh, Dunnellon; sons, Michael C. Haigh, Dunnellon, and Alan C. Haigh, Morriston; brother, Leonard Haigh, Medfield; and two grandchildren.

Richard Herzog, 64
ORLANDO — Richard "Dick" Herzog, 64, owner and operator of Orlando Florist, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001.
A native of Cincinnati, he moved to Orlando from Atlanta in 1983. Mr. Herzog served in the U.S. Navy. He was Christian.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Schneider, Orlando; daughters, Cindy Berndt, Atlanta, and Shelly Matthewson, West Plains, Mo.; son, Matthew Herzog, Orlando; stepsons, Todd Schneider and Mel Schneider, both of Ocala; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Renney B. Humphries, 86
OCALA — Renney Belle Humphries, 86, a retired elementary school teacher, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Mayo, she moved here in 1940. Mrs. Humphries retired from the Marion County School System after 50 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala.
Survivors include her son, William C. Humphries, Ocklawaha; daughter, Carla A. Humphries-Hill, Ocala; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

CHASSAHOWITZKA — James W. Moock, 64, a retired building service supervisor for Florida Power's Crystal River Plant, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001.
A native of Bristol, Pa., he moved here from Croydon, Pa., in 1971. Mr. Moock was a member of First Baptist Church of Chassahowitzka, Hernando Sportsman Club, National Rifle Association, and Quail Unlimited.
