SILVER SPRINGS — Pearl Bickel, 88, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001.
a native of Scotch Hill, Pa., she moved to Silver Springs from Carlton, Pa. in 1989.
Mrs. Bickel was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a son, Delbert Bickel, Silver Springs; a brother, Robert Johnson, Hernando; and a sister, Jean Bish, Shippenville, Pa.

W. Tate Brown, 91
OCALA — W. Tate Brown, 91, a retired bookkeeper, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001 at Harborside Healthcare.
A native of Red Jacket, W.Va., Mr. Brown moved here from Gilbert, W.Va. in 1981.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocala, where he had served as a deacon. He was a lifetime member of the Iaeger Lodge No. 148 AF&AM of Iaeger, W.Va.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Lou Cline, Ocala; sister, Elsie Mae Ramey, Grundy, Va; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Mary M. Davis, 81
SUMMERFIELD — Mary M. Davis, 81, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001 in Ocala.
Mrs. Davis was a native of Glenville, W.Va. She came here from Clarksburg, W.Va. 20 years ago. She attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Belleview.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Davis; a son, Rowland Gochenour in 1973 and a daughter, Loretta Jean Adams in 1999.
Survivors include a son, Jack Gochenour; daughter, Ruth A. Teuton, both of Summerfield; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Wayne E. Elkins, 55
CRYSTAL RIVER — Wayne Edward Elkins, 55, a truck driver for Wal-Mart for 11 years, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, in Crystal River.
A native of Bainbridge, Ga., he moved to Crystal River in 1997 from Brooksville. Mr. Elkins served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. Elkins, Crystal River; mother, Helen Askew, Colquitt, Ga.; stepson, Lewis Johnson, Bristol; brothers, David Elkins, Blakely, Ga.; and Van D. Elkins, Bristol; sisters, Gloria Shiver, Lyons, Ga., and Shirley Higginsbotham, Blakely; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Claud Hamilton, 82
OCALA — Claud L. G. Hamilton, 82, a retired custodian for Certified Groceries, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Evergreen, Ala., he came here from Evergreen 60 years ago. He was a member of the Welcome Stranger Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Hamilton, Ocala; daughter, Minnie Reeves, Pensacola; sister, Ilover Tippings, Chippley; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Margaret S. Henne, 88
OCALA — Margaret Sarah Henne, 88, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at Oakhurst.
A native of Brandon Manitoba, Canada, she came here from Chicago, Ill., in 1982. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala.
Mrs. Henne was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Henne.
Survivors include a son, William A. Henne, Springfield, Mo; daughters, Marion J. Wiley, Austell, Ga., and Melodie S. Nelson, Ocala; a brother, Wilbur Pue, Marshfield, Wis.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Robert J. Hooper Sr., 86
HERNANDO — Robert J. Hooper, Sr. 86, a retired iron ore miner, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, in Inverness.
A native of Stambaugh, Mich., he came here from Iron River, Mich., 26 years ago.
Mr. Hooper attended First Church of God of Inverness. He was a life member of the Iron River Elks Lodge and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Hooper, Hernando; a daughter, Bonnie Levandoski, Hernando; sons, Robert J. Hooper, Jr., Iron River, and James Hooper, Crystal Falls, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchild and one great great-grandchild.

Clyde W. Hunt, 85
FORT McCOY — Clyde William Hunt, 85, a retired supervisor for Ford Motor Co., Bedford, Ohio, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2001, at New Horizon Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Alliance, Ohio, Mr. Hunt came here from Alliance in 1987. He was a member of First Church of God in Alliance and was an active member of College Park Church of God in Ocala.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy M. Hunt, Fort McCoy; a son, Clyde E. Hunt, Colonial Beach, Va; a daughter, Delsia Hunt Tindell, Fort McCoy; sisters, Isabelle Ahlstrom and Shirley Anderson, both of Alliance; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.

Sallie M. Jackson, 64
DUNNELLON — Sallie Mae Jackson, 64, a retired food processor, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Oakwood Nursing Center.
A native of Waycross, Ga., she lived most of her life in Dunnellon. Mrs. Jackson was a member of New Life Center.
Survivors include her husband, Artes Jackson, Dunnellon; daughters, Laura Lee, Tampa, and Shemeda Jackson, Dunnellon; brothers, the Rev. Uston Taylor and Johnnie Taylor, both of Lake City, and Henry Taylor, West Palm Beach; stepsons, Artes Jackson Jr., Donnie R. Jackson, Eddie L. Jackson and Larry Jackson, all of Citra; stepdaughters, Ovedia Jackson, Kathy Raye and Gail Durden, all of Citra; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Doretha James, 64
SUMMERFIELD — Doretha James, 64, a retired cook, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001 at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A lifelong resident of the area, she came from Ocala. She was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include daughters, Cassie Hope, Ocala; Rhoda James, Summerfield; sons, Jerry James Jr. and Michael James of Ocala; Reginald James, Tampa; Deric James, Summerfield; sisters, Mary Hagins and Elizabeth Pinkney, both of Ocala, Geneva Johnson, Sanford, and Lula Mae Anderson, Fort Pierce; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lamerrell F. Johnson, 61
OCALA — Lamerrell F. Johnson, 61, a Citgo service station manager, died Sunday, Dec. 23 in Ocala.
A native of Ocala, he was an avid trumpet player and volunteered with youth. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Johnson; mother, Sadie Johnson; sons, Ennis Dawson and Marlon Johnson, all of Ocala; daughters, Wandia Davidson, Chicago, and Alice Mobley, North Carolina; a sister, Ruby Reese, Chiciago; eight grandchildren.

William Kitzer, 80
OCALA — William "Bill" Kitzer, 80, retired manager of Sibley Detroit Lumber Co., died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at TimberRidge in Ocala.
A native of New Kensington, Pa., he came here from Michigan in 1993. He was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army. He enjoyed playing cards, Bocchi and bowling.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lily Kitzer of Ocala, a nephew and two nieces.

Thelma A. Ludwig, 98
OCALA — Thelma Anna Ludwig, 98, a farmer, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Columbus, Ohio., she moved to Ocala 14 years ago from New Port Richey. She was a Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include her daughter, Jean Baker, Ocala; son, Louis Ludwig, Hudson; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

Hazel M. Neely, 90
OCALA — Hazel M. Neely, 90, a homemaker, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at New Horizons.
A native of Princeton, W.Va., she moved to Ocala in 1971 from North Carolina. Mrs. Neely was a member of Wyomina Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, John Neely.
Survivors include her sons, Gene Shepherd, Ocala, and Fred Neely, Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter, Joanne Davis, Ocala; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wyomina Baptist Church.

Jerome D. Perkel, 79
SUMMERFIELD — Jerome D. Perkel, 79, a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
He came to Summerfield from Fort Walton Beach in 1999.
Mr. Perkel is survived by his wife, Theodora Perkel, Summerfield; sons, Steven Perkel, Cherry Hill, N.J., and Barry Perkel, Madison, Wis.; a daughter, Dale Perkel, Wilmington, Del., a sister, Charlotte Perkel, Lakehurst, N.J., and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Marion County, 10699 S.W. 105th Ave., Ocala, Fla. 34481.

Carolyn Phelps, 95
OCALA — Carolyn M. "Margie" Phelps, 95, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at her home.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Phelps moved to Ocala 47 years ago. She was Presbyterian. She was a gifted cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ryland T. Phelps.
Survivors include her son, Larry W. Phelps, and one granddaughter both of Ocala.

Olivea H. Quinlisk, 91
OCALA — Olivea Howie Quinlisk, 91, retired accounting clerk for American Express, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at New Horizon.
Mrs. Quinlisk was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Bob" Quinlisk.
A native of Jackson, Miss., she came here from Milford, Conn., in 1989. She attended St. John Lutheran Church.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Warrel A. Shaw, 71
OCKLAWAHA — Warrel A. Shaw, 71, a charter boat captain, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001.
A native of Park Falls, Wis., he moved to Ocklawaha in 1985 from Key Largo. Mr. Shaw was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed bass fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Warrel, Ocklawaha.

Jayani M. Shukla, 72
OCALA — Jayani Mohaniai Shukla, 72, a retired bookbinder, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Shukla was a native of India. He was of the Hindu faith.
Survivors include his wife, Gounvanti J. Shukla, Ocala; sons, Rajesh J. Shukla, Ocala, and Kiran J. Shukla, India; daughters, Smita D. Mehta, Zephyrhills, and Haisha S. Desai, India, and six grandchildren.

Kassidi A. Toliver, 17
MOBILE, Ala. — Kassidi A. Toliver, 17, a student, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Mobile. Miss Toliver was a member of God's Church, Mobile, Ala., and she attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents, the Rev. Dr. Harold W. and Clara L. Toliver Sr., Mobile; brothers, Harold W. Toliver Jr., Arlington, Texas., Murrad Toliver, Crescent, Okla., and Guy Toliver, Dallas.; sister, Telisa Toliver, Houston; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Woodbury, Ocala.
