SHARON B. LUJAN
Age 45, On Tuesday, February 6, 2007, our beloved daughter, mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend, was welcomed into God’s waiting arms. With her family and friends by her side throughout her illness, Sharon peacefully died after complications from colon cancer.
Sharon was born on May 24, 1961. She graduated from Pojoaque High School in 1979. In December of 1981, she married the love of her life, Joe. She enjoyed 26 years of marriage with her loyal partner, who was always by her side. She gave birth to two of her greatest joys, her sons, Estevan and Andrew.
Sharon worked for the Pojoaque Valley Schools for 17 years as an adored teacher’s assistant. Everyone who knew her loved that never-ending smile on her face. There is nothing Sharon was more proud of than her family and the love she had for them all was endless. Sharon loved to fish and camp with her family at Nambe Lake and liked to spend Mother’s Day or any holiday doing just that. She was always “cruising” with Joe all over northern New Mexico. Sharon's hobbies were working in her garden in the summer or cheering on her favorite football team, the Raiders.
She is survived by her loving husband Joe; sons, Estevan and Andrew Lujan, parents, Arabella and Juan Jiron; grandmother, Rebecca Archuleta; great-aunt, Aurora Montano; brother, James and wife Antoinette Jiron; sister, Carmelina and husband Jimmy Anderson; sister, Paula and husband Sean Ewy; nephews, Jason Sweeney, Jonathan Jiron, Dominik and Coby Anderson; nephew/godson, Devon Ewy; nieces, Megan Ewy, Catherine Jiron and Carmelina Sweeney, just like daughters, Germaine Branch and Lenore Velasquez; sisters-in-law, Miranda Ortiz and family, Helen Sandoval and husband Gene, Ivy Higman and husband Mark, Edna Maes and husband Ed; brothers-in-law, Freddie Lujan, Armando Lujan and wife Florinda, Charlie Lujan and wife Marlene, and Ronnie Lujan and wife Gerri. Serving as pallbearers, Jonathan Jiron, Jason Sweeney, Jimmy Anderson, Robert Lujan, David Herrera and Robert Garcia. ESEQUIEL S. DOMINGUEZ
Age 20, a resident of Vadito, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Esequiel was currently an Honor student at Northern New Mexico Community College, having made the Deans List, and National Deans list. Esequiel is survived by his parents, Paul and Filiberta Dominguez of Vadito; four sisters, Angelica Dominguez and (Lawrence Vigil), Adelaida, Monica and Allegra Dominguez; half brother, Paul Dominguez; God-father, Eugenio Arellano of Chamisal; nephews, Jason Dominguez and Kevin Vigil; close cousin, Augustin Vela of Vadito; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends. Conce G. Fresquez Sr. - Age 88
A resident of Cuarteles passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2007. He was preceded in death by his son, David; brother, Filiberto; 2 half brothers, Abedon Sr., and Andres Lopez; parents, Jose de la Cruz and Lugardita Fresquez. He was in the 4th Combat Engineer Battalion during WWII, received 2 bronze stars and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He retired from Santa Fe County in 1983 where he was a Santa Fe county roads supervisor. Conce enjoyed camping, hunting, spending time with his family and tending to his chili roasting business. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Porfie M. of Cuarteles; sons, Jake E. and wife Gloria of Cuarteles, Bobby M. and wife Lucy of Albuquerque, Conce J. and wife Shirley of Cuarteles, and Benny R. and wife Arlene all of Chimayo; daughters, Therisa Ortiz and husband Wray of La Mesilla, Cyndee, and Julie Fresquez all of Cuarteles; Leoma Esquibel and Deborah Borrego who were like daughters to him; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Age 65, a resident of Canjilon, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isidoro and Magdalena Montaño; aunt, Sylviana “Bana” Martinez; brothers, Emilio and Isidorito Lolo Montaño and grandson, Patrick I. Montaño. Jose was a plumber and pipe fitter who loved his family and being outdoors. He loved to hunt, trap, look for antler sheds, going for wood and gambling at the casino. He was a great father, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. EDWARD “EDDIE” ROMERO
Age 56, a resident of Cordova and Chupadero, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 10, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fedelino Romero and Josefita “Josie” Lopez; father-in-law, Clovis Martinez; uncle, Adonais Montoya; grandparents, Liborio and Juanita Montoya. Edward was an avid horse trainer who loved horses and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and hauling wood. The pride of his life was his horse, Pistol Pigeon. He also loved gardening and listening to music. Julian Trujillo
Age 57 a resident of Medanales passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Alcairo Trujillo; brothers, Julian, Ernesto, Alcairo Jr. and Salvador Trujillo; a niece, Evelyn Trujillo. Julian liked the outdoors, especially going hunting. He loved going to the casino and playing cards. Julian was also a master mechanic. Most of all, he loved to watch his family play baseball. Age 51, a resident of Chamita passed away after a short illness on Friday, February 16, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Feliberto and Petrinila Gutierrez; sister, Carmen Gutierrez and brother, Jose Dolores Gutierrez. Juan loved fishing and he also loved building rock walls which was hard work. He also loved music and dancing. Paulino (Paul) Archuleta
Age 84, passed to a better life on Friday, February 16, 2007. He was born on April 2, 1922 to Antonio Archuleta and Marcelina Leyba-Archuleta in Cebolla, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his in-laws Antonia and Narciso Martinez; sons, James, Leroy, and Felix Archuleta; granddaughter, Ernestina Archuleta; brothers, Baltazar and Felipe Archuleta; sisters, Susie Atencio and Romanita Roybal; brothers-in-law, Tobias Leyba, Vicente Roybal, Antonio Atencio, Joe Baker, and Ted Casados. Paulino was a WWII US Army veteran. He worked for the U.S Post office and the U.S. Forest Service until an illness in 1979. He was active in ranching and enjoyed his horses and cows. He loved politics and was very strong supporter of the Democratic Party. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
