ADA — Janesa L. Whipple and Jack A. West, both of Ada, will unite in marriage June 19, 2004, at Oak Avenue Baptist Church. Maynuard Whipple will officiate the 7 p.m. ceremony.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Craig and Peni Whipple, Ada. She is a 2002 graduate of Latta High School and is the manager of Ada Garden Center Inc.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Charles and Janet West, Ada. He is also a 2002 graduate of Latta High School and is employed at West Sales.

Clark, Moss to exchange vows

ADA — Leah A. Clark, Ada, and Leon Moss, Crandall, Texas, will unite in marriage June 26, 2004, at First Baptist Church. The Rev. C.R. Hill will officiate the 4 p.m. ceremony.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rufus and Aniceta Clark, Ada. A 1997 graduate of Ada High School, she currently attends school in Fort Worth, Texas, and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Odessa Moore and Mitch Gause, both of Forney, Texas. A 1995 graduate of Crandal High School and a 1999 graduate of East Central University, he holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He is employed at IBM as a computer software engineer.

Erven, Alexander to unite in marriage

ADA — Tech sergeant Brandy A. Erven, Clark Fork, Idaho, and staff sergeant Chris Alexander, Ada, will exchange vows July 1, 2004, at Charleston Air Force Base Chapel, Charleston, S.C. James Tims will officiate the 7 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Roger and Pamela Best, Keizer, Ore., and the granddaughter of Hank and Darlene Best, Clark Fork, and Maxine Green, Keizer. A 1991 graduate of Clark Fork High School, she obtained associate’s degrees in personal administration and aircraft maintenance technology from the Community College of the Air Force. She was a member of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squadron based at Nellis AFB, Nevada, and is currently stationed at Charleston AFB, Charleston, S.C.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Ronny and Frances Alexander, Ada, and the grandson of Pat Forehand, Nadine Alexander, both of Ada, and the late A.D. Alexander. Following his 1991 graduation from Latta High School, where he lettered four years in baseball, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and recently finished a three-year tour with the Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squadron based at Nellis AFB as the logistics coordinator. He is currently pursuing an associate’s degree in business administration at the Community College of the Air Force. He is stationed at Charleston AFB.
Kubier, Harris to become man and wife

OKLAHOMA CITY — Amy Kubier, Oklahoma City, and Christopher Harris, Norman, will unite in marriage June 26, 2004, at the Ada Arts and Heritage Center. Millard McGuire, great-uncle of the bridegroom, Kellyville, will officiate the 2 p.m. ceremony.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Martin and Joanne Kubier, Ada, and the granddaughter of Robert and Kathryn Robinson, Kathleen Kubier, all of Oklahoma City, and the late Julius Kubier. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Oklahoma City University in May 2004 with a bachelor of science degree in both chemistry and biology. She was a member of Tri-Beta Science Club and Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. She taught microbiology at OCU and is planning to attend Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in the fall.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Jim Harris, Stillwater, and Sandra Harris, Drumwright, and the grandson of Sue Folsom, Sapulpa. A May 2004 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, he holds a degree in accounting and finance. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and is currently employed at First State Bank, Noble.

Matthiesen, Tracy to wed Sept. 18

ADA — Monya Leigh Matthiesen, San Angelo, Texas, and Christopher Chae Tracy, Ada, will wed Sept. 18, 2004, at Norman. Judge Gary M. Purcell will officiate the ceremony.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Glenda Powell, Jake Powell, and Steve and Melony Matthieson, all of San Angelo. A 1998 graduate of Central High School, San Angelo, she attended San Angelo State University from 1998-2001 where she served on the student alumni board and was a member of the National Chemical Society and the Biology Club. She currently attends Parker College of Chiropractic where she serves as student representative, Sportsman Society treasurer, and is a member of the Nutrition Club, the Pediatric Association, the American Chiropractic Association, the Community Health Outreach and the International Chiropractic Association. She is scheduled to graduate in August 2004 with a doctor of chiropractic degree.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Terry and Cayla Tracy, Ada. A 1996 graduate of Ada High School, he attended the University of Oklahoma in 1996-97 where he was a member of the President Leadership Class, Crison Club, Kappa Alpha Order fraternity and served as intrafraternity council intramural chair. He then transferred to East Central University, 1997-2000, where he served as student senate vice president and was a member of Bro-Med/Tri Beta and the Field Biology Club. He currently attends Parker College of Chiropractic, and is a member of the Student Body Association cabinet, American Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Association, Community Health Outreach and the Nutrition Club. He is founder of the Sportsman Society, serves as academic and professional standards student representative, and student tour guide. He is also scheduled to graduate in August 2004 with a doctor of chiropractic degree and a bachelor of science degree in anatomy.

Bedford, Short marry

MR. AND MRS. STEPHEN EDWARD SHORT

ODESSA, Texas — Laura Jeanette Bedford and Stephen Edward Short, both of Odessa, were united in marriage March 13, 2004, at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnny Young and Duane Spikes officiated the 7 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. John and Yvonne Bedford, Ada, Okla., and the granddaughter of Golden Bedford, Cotulla, and Dave and Hazel Deal, Perryton, Texas.

The bridegroom is the son of Robert and Celia Ambrose, Midland, and Roger Short, San Marcus. He is the grandson of Deverne Jackson, Whitney.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. Matron of honor was Lonetta Patterson, Odessa. Bridesmaids were Megan Clowe, Mesquite, Hanna Deal, cousin of the bride, Lubbock, Kristian Irwin, Odessa, and Lacey Hutchison, Columbia, S.C.

Jeff Patterson, Odessa, served as best man. Groomsmen were John Short, brother of the bridegroom, Cleveland, Ohio, Brandon Garcia, Odessa Texas, David Ambrose, brother of the bridegroom, Midland, and Jerry Dozier, Andrews.

David Bedford, brother of the bride, Oklahoma City, Ken Bridges and Jacob Mayo, both of Odessa, served as ushers, and Benny Deal, uncle of the bride, Perryton, was the candlelighter.

Following the ceremony, a reception, hosted by the parents of the bride, was held in the fellowship hall of the church. Reception assistants were Kristin Garcia, Beth Berridge, Trudy Downey, Aron Byford, Lindsey Raines, Cynthia Moore, Marsha Robertson, all of Odessa, and Becky Dozier, Andrews.

The couple has made their home in Odessa following a honeymoon to Eureka Springs, Ark.

Lancaster, Frye unite in March 13 ceremony

ADA — Tiffany Lancaster and Cody Frye, both of Ada, were joined as husband and wife 3 p.m. March 13, 2004, at Eureka Springs, Ark.

The bride is the daughter of Chuck and Linda Lancaster, Ada. She is the granddaughter of Mildred Lancaster, Ada, the late Marion Lancaster, and the late Bob and Wanda Geiger, and the great-granddaughter of the late Duel and Earnie Chism.

The bridegroom is the son of Dennis and Linda Frye, Ada, and the grandson of Imogene Frye, Ada, and the late Roland and Paralee Hisle.

A reception, hosted by the parents of the bride, was held at Southwest Church of Christ. Reception assistants were Crystal Shaw, Heather Smith, and Kyra and Katy Lancaster, both of sisters of the bride.

The couple spent their honeymoon in Eureka Springs and have made their home in Ada.

Bonar, Tidwell to wed

ADA — Jessica Lynn Bonar, Ada, and John D. Tidwell, Bristow, will unite in marriage June 25, 2004, at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Roland Tidwell will officiate the 7 p.m. ceremony.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Bruce and Patti Bonar, Ada, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bonar and Mr. and Mrs. Don Martin, all of Ada. She is a sophomore at East Central University majoring in music and is a private violin teacher. She is currently employed at the Thompson Agency as a licensed insurance agent.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mike and Rebecca Tidwell, Bristow, and the grandson of the Rev. and Mrs. Roland Tidwell and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Roush, all of Bristow. A 2004 graduate of East Central University, he holds a degree in vocal performance. He currently serves as minister of music at Trinity Baptist Church, Bristow, and is lead singer of Master’s Touch, a Southern gospel singing group.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Billy and Kimberly Ditto, Ardmore. She is the granddaughter of James and Mary Segler, Marietta, Bill and Ruth Ditto, Lone Grove, and Delbert and Linda Simmons, Oklahoma City, and the great-granddaughter of Nancy Keith, Ardmore, and Oma Dell Rogers, Lone Grove. A 2001 graduate of Plainview High School in Ardmore, she is a senior elementary education major at East Central University. She is employed at the Ada Elks Lodge and Legends.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Michael and Debbie Teel, Stonewall, and the late Michael Brooks, and the grandson of Ralph and Janine Teel, Ada. A 2000 graduate of Stonewall High School, he is employed at MacHill Construction and Legends.

Ferris, Hensley to unite in marriage May 30

OKLAHOMA CITY — Autumn Lynn Ferris, Oklahoma City, and Zachry Tyson Hensley, Ford, Kan., will exchange wedding vows May 30, 2004, at the home of Mrs. Billie Easterling, Connerville. Hilton Brumfield will perform the 6 p.m. ceremony.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Pat Ferris and Twila Ferris, both of Connerville, and the granddaughter of C.R. Whittington, Ada, the late Fern Whittington and the late Joe and Margie Ferris. A 1999 graduate of Wapanucka High School and a 2003 graduate of Oklahoma State University, she holds a bachelor of science degree in human nutrition. She currently attends Oklahoma University School of Medicine, Oklahoma City.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Gary and Barb Hensley, Ford, and the grandson of Charles and Evelyn Hensley, Beverly Burns, all of Ford, and the late Robert Burns. A 1998 graduate of Bucklin High School, Bucklin, Kan., and Northwestern University, Weatherford, he holds a bachelor of science degree in education. He is employed at Bucklin Public Schools, Bucklin.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Gail Sleigh, Ada, and Joe Sleigh, Oil Center, Okla. She is a 1997 graduate of Ada High School, a 2000 graduate of East Central University and a 2002 graduate of the ECU teacher’s program. She currently teachers at Wilmer-Hutchins High School, Dallas.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Marvin and Cora Cross, Ada. He attended R.L. Turner High School, Carrollton, Texas, and is employed at Hollywood Video Entertainment, Dallas.
