Lalanya Baskin, 30, of Teaneck, N.J., and Aaron William Way, 25, of Hope Valley, plan to marry on Sunday, July 8.

KRISTEN SWANSON ENGAGED TO CHAD TROMBINO

Kristen Swanson and Chad Trombino, both of Charlestown, were united in marriage on April 2 at 2 p.m. in Miami, Fla.

The bride is the daughter of Peter and Cherie Swanson of 10 Pawcatuck View, Carolina. The groom's parents are Mike and Linda Trombino of 7 Harbor Drive, Westerly.

The couple honeymooned on a Caribbean cruise. They live in Charlestown.

The bride graduated from Chariho Regional High School in 1996 and from the Technical School for the Air Force in San Antonio, Texas, in 1997.

The groom graduated from Westerly High School in 1995 and from Johnson & Wales University in 1997.

The couple are co-owners of Josie's Restaurant in Charlestown.

HOWARDS CELEBRATE 60TH ANNIVERSARY

Friends and relatives honored Roy and Mary Howard of 82 East Ave., Westerly, celebrating their 60th anniversary.

Local life-long residents who first met in junior high school, Roy Howard and Mary Turo were married on June 18, 1941, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception with Father Frechette officiating.

Shortly after the wedding, Roy Howard joined the 34th Division of the Army Infantry serving as a first lieutenant during World War II.

The best man at their wedding was Roy's brother, Harold, who was killed in World War II. The maid of honor was Katherine Turano, who now resides in Sun City, Arizona.

Upon his return from World War II, Mr. Howard was employed as an accountant for the George C. Moore Co., where he remained for 40 years. Mrs. Howard worked for many years at the Kellem's Division of the Harvey Hubbell Co. where she became known at the "Voice of Kellems."

They have two sons, Roy Breen and Raymond of Westerly, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Until recently, they had resided for more than 30 years on Breen Road, Watch Hill.

In addition to friends and relatives and some of the witnesses to the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Howard have received a citation from the Rhode Island House of Representatives "in recognition of this memorable occasion."

BURDICKS CELEBRATE 60TH ANNIVERSARY

Earl L. and Clara A. (Courchaine) Burdick of Alton-Bradford Road, Hopkinton, celebrated their 60th anniversary at a party given by their family at their home on Sept. 27.

The couple were married on Sept. 27, 1941, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception rectory, Westerly. The best man was the late Ernest Courchaine, and the maid of honor was Mary E. (Burdick) Caddick.

Mr. Burdick is retired from Bradford Dyeing Association.

They are the parents of Stephen Burdick of Bradford, Arthur Burdick of Ashaway, Teresa Rose of Westerly, Michael Burdick of South Kingstown, Gloria Ring of Hopkinton, and Mary Thayer of Charlestown, and the late Elaine Burdick.

They also have 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

TRACY I. CARDINAL ENGAGED TO KEVIN M. KENNEDY

Mr. and Mrs. Michael H. Cardinal of Westerly have announced the engagement of their daughter, Tracy I., to Kevin M. Kennedy, also of Westerly. He is the son of David Kennedy of East Greenwich and Arlene Bettencourt of Westerly.

Miss Cardinal graduated from Westerly High School in 1994. She is enrolled in the nursing program at the Community College of Rhode Island.

Mr. Kennedy graduated from Moses Brown High School, Providence, in 1992, and from Rhode Island College with a bachelor's degree in business. A member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves, he is employed at State Street Corp. in Boston.

The wedding will take place on Dec. 7, 2002.

LAURA A. TREIBER WEDS JASON M. ELDERKIN

Laura Ann Treiber and Jason Michael Elderkin, both of Charlestown, were united in marriage on April 27 at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Charlestown.

The Rev. Daryl Stahl performed the 3 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Michele Rose of Phoenix, Ariz., and Charles Treiber of 3 Turtle Trail in Charlestown.

The groom is the son of Karen Elderkin of 114 Sanctuary Rd., Charlestown, and the late Michael F. Elderkin.

Melissa Maine was the maid of honor, and Kevin Kodzis was the best man.

The bridesmaids were Angel and Kristeen Treiber, sisters of the bride, Lori Malstrom and Ashia Cassan. Heidi Malstrom was the flower girl.

Ushers were Jaime LeClair, Timothy Dinwoodie, Michael Shurtleff, Gary Harrison and Alex Mastrom. Derek Treiber, nephew of the bride, was the ringbearer.

Readers were Melissa Bowman, cousin of the bride, and Amy Sevegny, cousin of the groom.

Following a wedding reception at the South Kingstown Elks Lodge, the couple left for a wedding trip to the Bahamas. They reside in Charlestown.

A graduate of Chariho Regional High School, the bride attended Community College of Rhode Island and is employed at Bridges in Jamestown.

The groom also graduated from Chariho Regional High School and is employed at Arnold Lumber Company.

Rae-Ann M. Beaulieu and Michael F. Topham

Rae-Ann M. Beaulieu and Michael F. Topham of 23 Buttonwoods Rd. in Wyoming were united in marriage on June 8, 2002, at the Richmond Country Club in Richmond. John J. Adamo was the officiant at the 4:30 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Angelina Richmond of Alba Inn Road in Westerly and Raymond G. Beaulieu of Chester Avenue in Westerly.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Topham ???? of 5 Weathervane Way in Bradford.

Dawn Jones-Johannsen, a friend of the bride was the matron of honor. Steven Topham, brother of the groom, served as best man.

Amanda L. Topham, the groom's daughter was the bridesmaid. The groom's son, Christopher M. Topham, served as the usher.

The bride was given away by her brother, Edwin L. Marr, Jr.

Miss Jessica Caouette of San Antonio, Tex., a niece of the bride was the flower girl.

Many friends and relatives from Germany attended the wedding.

The bride graduated from Westerly High School in 1984 and attended Three Rivers Community College. She is employed at Davis-Standard, Inc. in Pawcatuck.

Mr. Topham graduated form Chariho Regional High School in 1986. He is employed by Greene Plastics, Inc. of Hope Valley.

After a reception at the Richmond Country Club, the couple left for a cruise to Bermuda.

LEDOUX, PASCUCCI ENGAGED

Ronald R. and Anna Cavanagh Ledoux of Richmond have announced the engagement of their daughter Michele Laurian Ledoux, D.O., of North Providence to Peter Porter Pascucci of South Kingstown.

Mr. Pascucci is the son of Sandy and Peter Pascucci of Ossining, N.Y.

Dr. Ledoux graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1996 with a bachelor of science degree and from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000 with a doctor of osteopathy degree. She is employed at Roger Williams Medical Center as a resident in internal medicine.

Mr. Pascucci graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2000 and is attending Roger Williams Law School and the University of Rhode Island graduate school. He will be joining the United States Navy's Judge Advocate General's Corps commencing in 2003.

An October 11, 2003 wedding is being planned.

Caroline Heminway Constantine and Matthew Rosen

Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Constantine of Rockville, Md. and Weekapaug, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Caroline Heminway Constantine, of New York City and Weekapaug, to Matthew L. Rosen of New York City, son of Dr. and Mrs. Fred Rosen of Cherry Hill, N.J.

Miss Constantine graduated from Miss Hall's School, Pittsfield, Mass., and Hobart-William Smith Colleges, Geneva, New York.

Mr. Rosen graduated from Columbia University. He is employed at Greenpoint, Fairfield, N.J.

A June 2003 wedding is planned.

ENGAGEMENT: KATIE DENHAM AND DAVID AHERN

Larry and Lynn Ahern of Westerly announce the engagement of their son David Ahern to Katie Denham, daughter of David and Kerry Denham, also of Westerly.

The couple graduated from Westerly High School in 2000. Mr. Ahern is in his third year at the University of Rhode Island, where he is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in psychology and plans to attend graduate school.

Miss Denham is also in her third year at URI and is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in accounting. She is planning to attend law school after graduation.

The wedding is being planned for June 2004.

DRENA AND LEBOVITZ ENGAGED

William and Mary Drena of North Stonington announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Noelle Drena to Kevin Lebovitz Jr., son of Kevin Lebovitz of Mystic and Dorothy and Robert Kettlety of Richmond.

Ms. Drena graduated from St. Bernard High School and the University of Rhode Island.

Mr. Lebovitz graduated from Lyme-Old Lyme High School and Central Connecticut State University.

The couple met at the Westerly Relay for Life, a fundraising walk-a-thon for the American Cancer Society. A June 28, 2003, wedding is being planned.

Tanya Rekowski and Jeffrey Doucette, both of Providence, were united in marriage on Aug. 11 at St. Augustine's Church.

Marie G. Ruggieri of Providence and Leonard C. Kaminski Jr. of Coventry were united in marriage on Oct. 19 at The Gazebo at Watch Hill at sunset.

Patrick and Ruth Regan Sr. celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Nov. 18 at a party given by their sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick and Jo-Ann Regan Jr., and Thomas and Ellen Regan Sr., all of Westerly.

Miss Hathaway graduated from Narragansett High School and attends Wheelock College in Boston.

A Westerly High School graduate, Mr. Mason attends Messiah College in Grantham, Pa. He is a project manager for Servicemaster of South County.

Michelle Alexandra Brown and Christopher William Barber, both of New York City, were united in marriage on June 1 at the Church of Our Saviour in New York City.

The 3 p.m. ceremony was performed by Monsignor John G. Woolsey.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Carole Brown of Rumson, N.J.

The groom is the son of Catherine Barber of 4 Upland Road, Weekapaug and John B. Barber of 33 Noyes Neck Road, Weekapaug. He is also the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Barber of 28 Noyes Neck Rd., Weekapaug and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Moses of Charleston, SC, formerly of Westerly.

The maid of honor was Meredith Ann Brown, sister of the bride, and the best man was John P. Glynn III.

Amy W. Mack, Leigh W. McHeffey, Emily R. Rosen, Allison N. Serrell and Liza W. Trivett were the bridesmaids.

The ushers were Mark A. Brown, Thomas Kavanaugh, William K. Sutton and Charles W. Wolfertz III.

Following a reception at the Colony Club in New York City, the couple left on a trip to the Hawaiian islands of Maui and Kaui. They will live in New York City.

The bride is a graduate of Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Conn., and Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pa. She is employed by Estee Lauder in the Global Special Events and Internet Marketing departments.

The bridegroom graduated from Suffield Academy, Suffield, Conn., and Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pa. He works as a futures broker for Man Financial in New York City.

Erica Jean Pellam of Charlestown and James Roderick Sousa of Pawcatuck were wed on Aug. 18 in St. Michael Church, Pawcatuck.

The Rev. Dennis Perkins officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony.

The bride's parents are Michael and Jean Pellam of Michael's Garage & Foodmart in Charlestown. The groom is the son of James and Maria Sousa of 8 Fairview Drive, Pawcatuck.

Michelle Pellam was the maid of honor for her sister, and Dennis Fortuna, cousin of the groom, was the best man.

The junior bridesmaid was Danita Raymond, godchild of the bride and groom. Joann Sousa, sister of the groom, and Teresa Pacheco were the bridesmaids.

The ushers were Chris Carriero, cousin of the groom, and Stephen Boughton, cousin of the bride. The ring bearer was Robert Raymond.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Watch Hill Inn. The couple live in Westerly.

The bride graduated from The Prout School and Stonehill College. She is employed by the Chariho School District.

The groom graduated from Stonington High School. He is employed with U.S. Properties in New London.

Jennifer Credit engaged to Steven Stenhouse

Gary and Brenda Credit of Plainfield, Conn., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer of Pawcatuck, to Steven Stenhouse, also of Pawcatuck. He is the son of John "Nick" Stenhouse and Donna Stenhouse, both of Westerly.

Miss Credit graduated from Plainfield High School in 1995. She is employed at the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich.

Mr. Stenhouse attended the Prout School in Wakefield. He is employed by the American Ambulance Service in Norwich.

The wedding will take place on May 11, 2002.

KIMBERLY RICHEY AND SCOTT M. JESSOP WED

Kimberly Richey and Scott M. Jessop, both of West Kingston, were united in marriage on Dec. 29, 2001, at a 6 p.m. ceremony at the West Valley Inn in Warwick by Diane Seamann. A reception followed the ceremony at the West Valley Inn.

The bride is the daughter of Susan Nightingale of Coventry and Terry Richey of Frankfurt, Ind. The groom is the son of James and Beverly Jessop of Ashaway.

Jesse Marsella was the maid of honor, and Ryan Rathbun was the best man.

Bridesmaids were Elise Coates and Erica Richey. Stephanie Rathbun was the flower girl and Dustin Rathbun was the ringbearer.

The bride is employed at CVS Pharmacy.

The groom works in hotel operations at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

SILVESTRI, PINNEY ENGAGED

Mrs. June Silvestri of Westerly and Mr. and Mrs. John Pinney of Maryland joyfully announce the engagement of their children, Miss Jil Patricia Silvestri and Mr. John Pinney Jr. Miss Silvestri is also the daughter of the late Vincent Silvestri.

Miss Silvestri graduated from Westerly High School and the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and has her own business called Childhood Photography.

Mr. Pinney graduated from Stonington High School and attended New England Institute of Technology. He is a sub-contractor for Michael Misto Builders.

The wedding is scheduled for June 14, 2003.

Laura Perry and Dana Blumenthal of Fort Collins Colorado were united in marriage on Sept. 14, 2002. The ceremony and reception were held at the home of brides's parent's on Haversham road in Westerly. The bride is the daughter of Sarah and Harvey Perry of Westerly. The groom is the son of Betsy and Tom Blumenthal of Boulder, Colorado. The bride is a member of the Pine Point School class of 1988 and graduated from Westtown School in 1991. In 1995 she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. She was awarded a National Science Foundation Fellowship for graduate study. This year she received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota for research and study related to wetland environments. She is pursuing a post-doctoral fellowship. The groom was the valedictorian of the Bloomington, Indiana high school class of 1987. In 1992 he graduated Phi Beta Kappa form Reed College in Portland, Oregon. He received his Ph.D. in Agronomy from the University of Minnesota this year. He has just accepted a position as a research scientist for the United States Department of Agriculture.

50TH ANNIVERSARY: NANCY AND JAMES BEAMES

Nancy (Rosazza) and James Beames of Old Post Road, Westerly, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 10, 2003, at a party given by their children at Dylan's Restaurant.

Mr. and Mrs. Beames were married on Jan. 10, 1953, at the First Baptist Church, Westerly, by The Rev. C. Bernard Chapman.

Charles Beames was the best man, and Agnes Brightman was the maid of honor.

Mr. Beames retired from the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics.

Mrs. Beames is retired from Scott's grocery store.

Mr. and Mrs. Beames have three children, Joyce Brusseau, James Beames Jr. and Judy Tate, all of Westerly, and five grandchildren, Ryan and Adam Brusseau, and Kristy and Kelly Tate, all of Westerly, and Jennifer Beames of New Jersey.

SMITHS CELEBRATE 25TH

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Smith will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with friends and family on April 8, 2003, at the MGM Forever Grand Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. Mrs. Smith was the former Pamela J. McCrillis. The Smiths were married on April 8, 1978, in St. Peter's Chapel, Mare Island, Calif., by The Rev. Allport.

Sherry Fowler was the maid of honor and Randy Fowler served as best man.

The Smiths have two children, Deidre Westall of Schererville, Ind., and Andrew Smith, residing at home with his parents.

Mr. Smith is employed at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Mrs. Smith is employed at the Cumberland Farms store on Granite Street, Westerly.
